Gain City is the worst servicing company I have ever experienced. My landlord has a service contract for our unit. Whenever I call for quarterly service they are unable to check their records and trace my address. They promise to call back which they NEVER do.
For today they announced by SMS to come for chemical cleaning. Guess who didn't show up? Guess who has no records about that?
When choosing a aircon servicing company, refrain from Gain City. They are the worst !
Philips 8500 series 4K Ultra HD TV 50PUT8509/98
I bought this Philips 8500 series 4K Ultra HD TV 50PUT8509/98 last month October in GAIN CITY SUNGEI KADUT purchase under Irwan Bin Khamis and yesterday my children accidentally throw the comb hit the TV (refer to attach picture) I call gain city and call Phillips nothing they can do and ask me to buy a new one because they told me the repair will be the price of what I am buying for a new one. If I want to purchase a New TV I won't have approach Gain city and Phillips at the first place. Bad experience buying goods from gain city and buying Phillips brand, they insists you to buy and aftermath the service at such a disappointment, so I have to throw my less than 1 month TV just like that if the TV cause me FEWER dollars than I wouldn't mind throw it away, I bought for $1390

Beware! GAIN CITY Electronics Store = SCAM CITY (?)
Thnks to the worsening haze, I decided to pick up 3 air purifiers for my extended family and fren. Saw a good deal online last night - Sharp air purifier going for $349 (5 units left) instead of $399 => total savings of $150. But due to 2 days lag in collection for online orders, I decided to call the store Gain City today and just buy off the shelf.
Over the phone, the tele-operator confirmed that they still have 5 units, price $349 but cannot reserve. Rushed down to the Ang Mo Kio main store after work and was happy to see 3 units on the shelf; only to be told by the manager that $349 is 'online offer price', not applicable for walk-in customer. Sorry he 'cant help' since I did not get the name of the tele-operator that I talked to. I would need to buy it online and wait for notice to pick up the stock. LL...
Returned home within 1 hr to go for the online purchase - yes i WANT to save the $150 - only to realise that the promotion has been 'removed'. PISSED...
1) Profiteering? Probably.
2) Bad Service? Definitely.
3) Patronise GAIN CITY again? NEVER.
Aircon service and customer service
I'm furious of the customer service and technician service, really disappointed for their service. In future I won't engaged any service or signed any extended warranty with them. Even products also don't wish to buy with them.
air conditioner kept breaking down
This complaint is on customer service of Gain City, a air conditioning dealer based in Singapore.
The air con kept breaking down, I called up their customer service. They kept sending the same services team to repair the air con, But the same issues still unable to recover. Did feedback to the customer services team, but no an action taken to solve the problem~ I i would like to caution to all reader that Gain City is not a trustworthy retailer.

Undelivery of goods, bad customer services
I had placed a deposit to gain city few months a go to book the LG tv 42LA6200, and made full payment with other appliances few weeks ago, the delivery date was open. Two weeks ago, we call them up and fixed the delivery to be on Christmas Eve, but call was received in that day saying the tv can only be delivered at a later time, so new year eve was fixed. On that day, then we receive call from GC that the model had discontinue, and it's out if stock. I am very puzzled as full payment had been made, but goods was not confirmed. As the appliances was deliver separately from the tv, we purposely went down to our new house to wait for it. End up, nobody turn up nor call was received after the delivery time frame., so I made a call n to realize that the delivery date was not keyed in the system (but somehow the tv date was fixed, funny). And for the TV set, I did saw that their website still sell the model, but believing that the website was not updated, I decided to get the next available modal 42LA6620, it was agreeable and 2/1/14 date was fixed for delivery. Again, I took leave and make a trip back home to wait for the tv. To my amaze, and GC did it again, no one turn up, nor call was received. I had to call them up and they told me that this model was also out of stock! I make a trip down to sun plaza store, the staff couldn't do much, so I manage to too to the manager and he agree to give us a reply on the following day. The following day, GC advertise the exact same model in expo.
The store mgr called me and told me that they have the 42la6620 stock, are they kidding me?! Waste my time waiting twice and no call was made, and now they telling me they actually have the stocks. To make it worst, he raised his voice through out the conversation when I do no accept their offer and I requested compensation from him by replacing the TV set with the 42LA690T (price diff of abt 400). He told me that even his boss will the the same as him, will not do a business that incur a lose, and keep emphasizing me to stand in his shoe. Their inventory process ### up and now want me to suck it up on their faults. Ridiculous. Moreover, no sorry was convey at all. When I asked for compensation, he asked me back what compensation I want, and later offer me with a bluray player, which is redundant for me. He is not sincere and apologetic.
I couldn't stand such attitude and made a complaint to their customer relationship department, I called up their customer relationship manager, and seem he is neither well train in handling complaints. He keep emphasizing that all the mishap I face falls under "lack of service", even the inventory ### up also consider as lack of service, and the short change of the tv model is consider as a new purchase, they can only bundle with the free gift(which is the bluray player, which I think they just take an item that are yet to clear). And I the their slogan was "stand in their shoe", thus mgr also ask me to stand in the store mgr shoe. If I will to do that, then who are going to stand in my shoe of begin fly kite twice without notification?! Aren't my time (my leave) worth the product price of 400?! $$ paid but goods was not deliver, they really think I am a 3-year old kid, easily be cheated. My request is reasonable, and I also never demand cash compensation, can't they be more flexible when handling complaints case by case?
Paid for TV monitor and was informed stock will be avail 4 to 5 days. Call many times and still no stock. They also dont know when stock will arrive. What kind of retail company is this? I will Never buy any thing from this place ever again. Even if they give out free stuff.
Failed air conditioning unit and no refund
I purchased an air conditioning unit from Gain City at the end of March which broke down in June. Up till September the air conditioner kept breaking down and Gain City refused to replace it or give me a refund. The case ended up in the Subordinate Court and due to the Lemon Law, Gain City was to give me a full refund by Dec 6, 2013. However, as of today, there is yet to be a refund despite an order from the courts.
Gain City calls itself a "trusted choice", but completely disregards the law and its consumers for the sake of profits. Its unscrupulous behavior is disappointing, and downright unethical. To my fellow Singaporeans, my advice is to avoid making any purchases from Gain City.
I should have read all reviews about GC first before deciding to purchase my AC. Just have very very frustrating and bad experience with them too!
Here is the chronologies:
1. On 23 Oct 2016, I purchased 2 sets of Mitsubishi (MIT) AC system 2 (invoice number: SORCS-[protected]). It was delivered and installed on 26 Oct 2016. However, after a few days, 1 pair of AC (in the common bedroom which is connected to the living room) have a problem (not cold).
2. I called Mitsubishi and they sent their technician on 7 Nov 2016. The MIT technician checked and confirmed that there is nothing wrong with the unit and they advised me to call the installer (Gain City).
3. Subsequently, I called GC and GC technician came on 7 Nov evening, they only did gas top-up. However, after a few days, the problem happened again.
4. Again, I called GC and your technician came on 25 Nov 2016. The GC technician again said that the same thing - there is nothing wrong with the piping or joint and then they did another gas top-up.
5. After few days, the problem reoccurred. I called GC for the 3rd time and GC arranged MIT to check. On 5 Dec 2016, MIT checked by dismantling the unit one by one. They found out that one unit of AC (in living room which pair with the common bedroom) actually works well (no problem). However another unit (the one in common room) still have the problem (not cold). They diagnosed it and again said that it is NOT the problem of the AC unit.
6. on 12 Jan 2017, MIT and GC technician conducted a JOIN inspection. GC technician didn't do any inspection of the joint/dismantle the unit to check it thoroughly, they only simply said that it because of the 'gas pipe leak" which is very different from their earlier statement they mentioned. He noted in Job Order form "gas pipe leak".
As the problem still persist, after the JOIN inspection (between GC and MIT), I asked the GC technician to get his manager to contact me. I also called GC customer service to do the same but until today (14 Jan 2017) none from GC return my call.
My concern and question to you after I consulted the issue to the second opinion (my AC contractor):
1. When the MIT technician dismantled the unit to check the AC unit one by one, they found out that only one unit (from the pair) is having the issue, while another one works very well. Logically, if it's due to pipping, both unit will have the same problem (as they're linked in 1 system). Thus, it is more likely due to the joint issue. Your technician SHOULD CHECK the 'JOINT' by dismantling the unit and check the joint thoroughly (WHICH HAVE NOT BEEN DONE BY GC TECHNICIAN).
2. The GC technician seem not professional, didn't check thoroughly and simply decided the outcome it is 'piping issues', which is different from their initial statement without any checking of the 'joint issue'.
3. Before I purchased the new AC from GC, my AC contractor has also checked and told me the pipping is ok.
Now, GC offered me to change the pipe which cost 1600 SGD just for 1 system! WTF!
Conclusion: NEVER EVER BUY AC FROM GAIN ####
Poor customer service
This complaint is on customer service of Gain City, a air conditioning dealer based in Singapore.
Gain City installed an air conditioning unit in my home a few months ago. Now it stopped working. The unit's "ready light" just blinks when I tried to turn it on. I called up their customer service. After going through all the usual checking, I was told my unit was installed on old piping and there is no warranty.
Fair enough. I told the person it could be a very simple issue. Perhaps I accidentally pressed something that cause an issue. I asked to talk to a technical person. It might be just a quick issue.
Then I was told technical person wasn't available. Again I was reminded my unit doesn't come with warranty.
Why don't I leave my number and have the tech person call me back. The person on the phone reluctantly did that. I asked if he can call me even when he's out through mobile that will be better. The person on the phone didn't really respond to this request.
I waited for the technical person to call back. As expected, no calls. I'm on my own.
My experience with Gain City used to be positive. Their technical personnel are usually quite good. However, if what I have just gone through is representative of what I will experience with Gain City from now on, I will definitely not buy from them anymore.

irresponsible service
I requested for my air conditioner's pipe to be change because it was not properly done by their people on 26 january. I have settled the payment on 26/1/2011 and I had been contacting them from January till now and it was almost four months more than ten calls has been made. Everytime when i call them, they would say that they would settle and referred us to different people : Calvin Tan, Tommy Tan, Cherylene, Suzanna, Thomas Ong.

I purchased a Mayer washing machine 1 year ago, at $624, from Gain City.
This new washing machine broke down recently. Barely a year plus.
Meyer told me there is a component fault in main board however the entire main board is to be replaced at a repairing cost of $360, and minimum lead time of 4 weeks.
Please note the faulty component is a relay which is a simple electrical component that could be at the most cost $30.
I would like to caution to all reader that Gain City is not a trustworthy retailer.
To all the consumer, This sort of bad experience you may likely be encountered if you purchase Mayer washing machine or buying from Gain City .So, avoiding both of them(Mayer and Gain City)for your own good
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
On 2 Aug 2022, I booked aircon servicing. However, the technician said that my aircon is too old and may break down during servicing. He said I can cancel the booking and get a refund. I am fine for the servicing to be cancelled but the money for booking of the service should be refunded to me and it is still not refunded since 2 Aug 2023!
I bought a refrigerator from gain city and they delivered the wrong refrigerator and it was a lower grade, at that time I already bought my groceries.when I called the salesman, he pushed it to the delivery man.this is the worst company that I've seen.i strongly recommend you to not

Problem: After fixed and replaced PCB board cost $870, the aircon still have some problem. When turn on 2 units aircon, one of the aircon only blowing air out and NOT a cold air.
