Hi everyone, I just started 06/27/22 and my aid was applied on the 30th, I had a balance of (1624.00) and on 07/07/22 the stipend was issued. Its 07/08/22 and I was pretty hopeful until I read hundreds of these post which I mentioned to my student services lady and she shrugged it off like I was talking about conspiracy theories..
I'm going to try and remain hopeful until 07/14/22 since that's the 2 week point. Then I'll call once and after that going straight to the Dept of Education and filing a lawsuit. No one should have to put up with this crap.
I'll update if I receive it.
Desired outcome: On time dispensment like I was told

Im waiting on the same thing
I am just wondering how your disbursement went. I began class on 8/8/22, My financial aid was actually paid and applied to my account on 8/11/22 and just today 8/18/22 my account zeroed out and it says disbursement stipend. I am assuming that means that they mailed the stipend. Is that correct? Does anyone have any insight? I too called the student coordinator and I know what you mean. They do act like you're talking crazy or something... and I have NEVER talked to financial aid. Just my student coordinator (Blanca) and Sonya. It is truly worrying me that you cannot find ANYTHING where people say, Oh I had no problems getting my disbursement etc. I'm praying they have worked out the kinks. It seems so insane to me that you see posts going back YEARS with this same issue. You would think they would get direct deposit for their students' sake and not continue this craziness. Have you gotten your disbursement yet?
My stipend was issued on 2-14-23 and i recieved my check on 2-21-23. No problem at all. Make sure your address is correct with GCU
Do you remember what date they apply your financial aid to your account?
I had no problem getting my stipend checks, because I did call the financial aid department along with my enrollment advisor who explained to me that since there is no way to set up direct deposits, the checks are being mailed out to us. I have already got two checks from them and I started last year.
So I keep reading these post that say it has been weeks later and no check.?.? Does anyone who has commented above have an update?

Omg! this is simarliar to what happen to me, the financial aid counselor took my remaining balance of my stipend check and lied to me for weeks like it was on the way but nver came. After waiting for weeks and listening to her lies i call her once again , and she tells me once the class was over ,that i would be receiving any money because i fail my class after i couldnt log in for the last 2 weeks of class left due to my laptop going out , proir to it going out i had spoke with both rachel and jessica about buying a new one ,rachel told me advise me not to worry because i can use my balance from my pell grant stipend check to buy a new one. Jesscia lied to me for months , telling me my stipend check was on the way knowing she had never sent it and held it until she got my final grade ,then told me i wasnt getting any money from anything because i fail my class and she was taking my money and putting it towards a re-take with out speaking to me about it! i felt very mislead and decided to with draw from the school because it was too much misleading lies and information.The school took my whole pell grant check ($1973.77) and only send $436.00 back to financial aid! so now i have a owe balance to the school on top of them taking my pell grant money! i wouldnt recommend this school to no one!
Usually it takes about 2 weeks after the date shown as they do not do direct deposits at GCU. They mail the checks out to the students who are getting a stipend. I hope this helps a little bit and I am sorry for your stress. I hope you have a blessed day.
