The biggest rip off ever!
I assure you that this website is 100% fake and that all they need is your money! Check all the reviews and believe me that all the negative ones are the ones you should really trust! Ordered some products back in October 2015 and it is now April 2016 and still nothing. There is no way to contact Gettington because they are ignoring all the messages and never reply. There are many people like me who did not receive anything, people who did get their items complain about their items being damaged. This place should be investigated and shut down!
The Safeline Plus Disability payment program
Same thing here Fingerhut and gettington along with Safeline have a little criminal Racket going on here and we need a class action lawsuit. They shouldn't be allowed to charge someone for safeline when they do not sign up for it. Also fingerhut and gettington are charging interest on this safeline disability plan. That according to my lawyer is illegal
i am a victim too i stoped getting paper statements after Hurricane Sandy since i had no residence for over five months and never started them up again during this time out of no where i started getting charged for the safe line services. i never signed up for it and dint notice it until this Month when i was trying to figure out why my payments kept going up and my available valance kept getting lower when i was not purchasing anything or bought anything in months.. I called Gettington and they said they could not help me i had to call safeline after five hours on the phone with safeline they tell me that they are only returning the money back for the last two months when i informed them that they owe me thousands of dollars for a service i never signed up for. i told the man that i never singed up for it and i was not going ot pay for something i did not sign up for and i wanted my money back 2 weeks later and i have yet to see a dime back. I need help what can i do.
The seller refused to take sofa back, but the quality was too bad
I have bought sofa and grill from www.gettington.com. I got everything on time, but the quality was awful and I immediately contacted the seller. I said that I wanted to return the order back, because it was too bad and would like to get money back. It wasn’t worth to pay such huge price for the bad-quality sofa. However, the seller refused to pay back or take the sofa, he simply told that he could do nothing and hung up on me.

I made an order back in November. Since items I bought were supposed to be Christmas presents I ordered in advance. The promise delivery date was December 10th. However, I received nothing, so I went online to track the order. The delivery date was changed. Well, it is now January 29th and I received nothing yet. When I contacted Gettington customer service I was told that my order was cancelled. They said that I need to re-order the items. They offered me a free shipping too. But I demanded a refund, because Christmas passed long ago. After I mentioned a refund I heard nothing from them. Complete scammers! People, seriously think twice before ordering anything from this company!
Unethical Practices
I sent back a purchase in December. Did not hear anything and assumed my balance was zero. Well the did credit back everything except for $30 or $40 dollars. I did not log in until March and discovered my balance was not zero but $100! Apparently they added on late fees. I emailed them proposing that I will pay the $30-$40 but would they credit back the late fees, they did. A few weeks later a pulled my credit report and saw on February 7th they reported me as being late on a payment. I sent a letter asking politely if they would remove this from my credit report and I got a letter back basically saying "I deserved it and no". My credit score has fallen dramatically because of this. Gettington reported me as being late on a balance that they credited back by 50% but wont remove the late payment from my credit report? I returned my most recent order, will pay whatever remaining amount is left and proudly cancel my account. They reported me as being late after 37 days. Were sympathetic enough to credit late fees but not at all to ruining someones credit report, over a returned item. They truly do not care about helping people "build up their credit".
THINK TWICE BEFORE SETTING UP AN ACCOUNT WITH THEM. THEY CAN EASILY AND RAPIDLY RUIN YOU!
Customer service is horrible. They will talk over you . I was excused of not paying my bill when it was coming out my account. I paid in full and will never deal with them again. Just another scam company. Very glad it was over the phone cs would have ended nastier her attitude was so poor.

machine on Dec 11th and still had not received it. When I talked to CS exactly
one week ago it was decided that I would wait till the 5th to check back and if
it had not shipped yet I would then cancel the order. When I called today to
see if it had shipped I was told that the manufacturer cancelled the order because
"I had moved and it would be shipped to the wrong address!"
Although we are planning a move soon, I have not yet moved... I waited
56 days for delivery and still did not get the product and someone took the
liberty of cancelling my order for me before it should have been. This is the
first time I have ordered from Gettington
and I am sorely disappointed, I will never try to do business with them again.

Sent 8/11/13--Gettington is selling old down comforters. I have put one review up here and they will not post it. The item they sent was infested with bed bugs. I have lived in the same place for 17 years and have NEVER had any problems. I also research this information and found out that down comforters can be a resting place for old down comforters that may have long self life. I put the item on my bed after being very excited to received my comforter. After having the comforter on the bed for no longer than a week. BUGS WERE EVERYWHERE. I tried to call and speak with CS and they told me that I was nuts. I have a comforter from Macy and have had for two week now...NO BUGS...
I received the 750$ approved credit and then found out that really means I was "selected" to apply for their credit to see if I can then buy from them.

The first late fee was on my first statement that they sent to me too late to be paid on time. I have paid everything but the late fees. I have sent them two letters and now I just got another statement with a late fee. This company is a scam.

was one day late paying bill phone call came in at 8a.m. saying i was taken to collections. i paid the bill they waved the late fees and service fees. paid the next installment on dec 24th for the amount that was scheduled cot a call at 8:15 on the 28th say this is collections and i owed the late fee and another was slapped on it i fought the late fees paid the bill off and closed the account. no grace period and the people are very rude to talk to will not recommend this company to anyone

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. I ordered a gift online from Gettington and the tommy bahama cooler I purchased arrived with a large dent. Customer service reported that would mail a return postage and it would take 10-15. After complaining and speaking with the supervisor she stated that they could email the return postage. We shipped the package right away and they told us it would take 10-15 to process the exchange. Its been 3 weeks and they still have not sent us the new cooler. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE and basically they did not do anything for you. This is a gift and I ordered it in advance but still no product. I will NEVER order from them again.

You are a real waste of internet space
I am someone who does a majority of holiday shopping online. Even if not the holiday, I enjoy the ease on online shopping. I have never experienced a more unprofessional, bait and switch, disaster of a shopping site! I order and item for the holiday well in advance (1st week Nov 2012) A month later when it has still not arrived I try to call-left on hold 20 minutes, I hang up. I try again the next day, same thing. I email and am told I will receive response in 24 to 48 hours- 4 days later- Nothing! Finally I use the chat (should have done that from beginning) It took 5 inutes of back and forth about my social security number to even get my question answered. Why does a company need your SSN? I said I shop online all the time and never did, nor would ever have to provide that info. He apologized, yet never had an answer as to why it was required. I never gave it. Finally I am told my shipment is back ordered until a week after the holidays. I am assured that I part of the shipment (the one thing I really need, a gift for a toddler) will arrive on or before Christmas. I did not believe the person. I said ok tried calling again. After 10 minutes I got through to someone and was told that the entire order(doll included) will be shipped 2nd week of January 2013. So the prior employees guarantee was false! What if I believed him? I would have had a very disappointed little girl. I cancelled the order and am completely disgusted I wasted my time. Now, guess what? The doll is sold out everywhere! I had to pay double on Amazon just to get it. Thanks a lot genttington.com- You are a real waste of internet space!

Got a catalog. Same deal, free shipping, pre-approved credit. Wanted to buy ONE item. The web site itself was non-functional and their customer service was down when I called. Just FINALLY got off the phone ... they could not approve a change of my shipping address because they could not "authenticate" me. However, three of the four questions they asked were irrelevant to me ... wrong spelling of my wife's name, wrong birthdate ... UNBELIEVABLE. I wonder how those of you who like this company actually got to order anything!
Gettington.com is an irresponsible and unethical company
I was sent to collections by Gettington.com in January of 2012. At the time I was making regular payments thru the bill pay feature of my bank.
On 6/12/12 I paid my account off, in full, thru Gettington.com. I have called every 2 weeks to inquire about the status of this account.
Jefferson Capital, the collection agency, continues to show up on my credit report.
Gettington.com is an irresponsible and unethical company as they have not reported to Jefferson Capital that my account has been paid off.
I will NEVER buy another thing from this crackpot website
I purchased a captain's bed with trundle for my boys (5 and 7). Within 6 months the front board on the bed that supports the frame cracked in the center. I thought, 'no problem, I bought the extended warranty!' WELL, it took nearly a month to finally get an answer from customer service about how they were going to handle it (did I mention that every time I called I had to sit on hold for an average of 60 - 70 minutes before a person even answered the phone?). Their response... Send someone to the house to GLUE the board, a major support beam on the bed. Now mind you, the service technician has not been here yet, he comes today, but do you think that glue will fix the problem and return the bed to its original condition? Neither do I.
As if all of this was not bad enough, when the customer service rep called my wife to tell her this was their solution, the lady on the phone LAUGHED at my wife's concern for our child's safety when sleeping on a glued bed AND said that the time frame for their solution was WELL WITHIN reasonable. Tell that to my 5 year old who has been sleeping on a mattress on the floor...

I was pleased at first - ordered a heater that arrived in a timely fashion and worked quite well. Needed another, so ordered it.
I was sent a used, filthy, smoky heater. So, I email and ask them to send a return shipping label and that I would like to exchange it for another heater - figured I would give them a chance to make it right; perhaps someone just didn't do their job on the return end.
They flat out refused to pay return shipping. I have it written in email - even though they sent me a used item they will not accept responsibility in any way. I plan on filing a complaint with my state Attorney General and never doing business with these people again!

So I received catalog with pre-approved credit, with 3 different payments options, I was like this is great, before the Holidays, but guess what, after placing the order I get an email that I am not approved for credit, I asked why then I received a catalog stating pre- approved their asnwer was... pre-qualified doesn't mean pre-approved, can you imagine that gizzz what a b...l s... t company ... I sent them the picture of the catalog that I received but after reading these reviews I am glad the order did not got through!
I tried to cancel an order less than 30 minutes after ordering. The only option they gave me was to leave an email message. This transaction was placed on a Saturday. The automated response stated that I would receive a reply within 2 business days. On Monday I got a reply stating that the package already shipped and could not be cancelled. I received a tracking number and contacted UPS. I was told that they could not do anything as the package had not yet been received... only a label had been created. The package is still in their possession! Why would they bother shipping when they know it is an unwanted order. This is blatant consumer abuse!

I was turned down for credit with Gettington with a 600 credit score. I don't know how that person with a score in the 400's got approved. Both my TU and EQ scores took hard hits from their so called "Pre-approved" offer. I have two wait two weeks now to find out via snail mail why I was turned down. I sure won't be recommending this company!
I had a 613 TU, a 635 EX, and a 609 EQ they told me i was turned down on th phone after i called every day for a week. The bad thing is i have a bill me later with a $500.00 limit through webbank which is who this card is through and i have never been late. I just dont understand thought it was for people with poor credit. i also had a fraud alert on all my credit beauras and thats why i called so much they never asked me to verify info
Billing for product not delivered
The product I ordered was damaged in shipping First DHL said "Dammaged Item" Then UPS Said "Undeliverable" So I called them told them it was being returned by UPS it was "DAMAGED" and to not resend the item. Today I got a bill for the item I did not recieve. I spoke to a Cindy Operator #880 and asked to speak to a supervisor and was told no one was there. They billed me for a product that was not delivered but I got the Tracking Copies of both DHL & UPS. This shows the Item was returned to them. Please be careful doing any ordering from them.

Funny I talked to "Cindy" too twice yesterday after my order wouldn't go through! First she said that it wouldn't go through because my billing address and shipping address were not the same, so then I had my dad order with his card so that both addresses would be the same, still wouldn't go through. The second time I called she was completely rude and said she didn't know the answer to why it wasn't going through. I so regret finding this website and inputting any of my information in there...
Interesting. I've called the company several times today and can only reach Cindy! I received a letter in my maiden name (first red flag) telling me my credit number and that I have a $600 credit limit. I've never even heard of this website before the letter came. I thought maybe someone else had stolen my identity for this site, but Cindy's rude attitude and lack of supervision 4 hours prior to the close of business has ensured me that this Gettington site is to blame for the entire ordeal. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE AND REPORT IT ANYWAY YOU CAN!

I am tired of the same con style "pre-approved credit" with over priced items. I did comparisons and found this company to be approx. 25% higher than retail (in the store items. Shipping is excessive also. Another cheap (as in: marketing those who don't undertsand or have credit problems) gimmick is what this is...taking advantage of people when times aren't the best, referring to our state of the economy. To help and be a good company...then reduce prices and have good quality merchandise. A DeWaltt chordless drill went for $149.00 in this catatlogue and $119.00 at the local home improvement center. Greed by others is what led to our current national economic situation. Companies such as these have no interest in helping people by re-instilling consumer confidence, they're out for every penny they can get. I think I may someday offer a catalogue service but with prices that will make people feel good about their purchase and want to return and appreciate getting a deal...and not getting ripped off by insensitive company representatives whose job it is to protect the company versus looking out of the struggling consumer. Before making purchases...google it! Then you decide who can do best for you...not better but best!
They are a company like any other & they serve a purpose for some. I don't get why people complain about stores or online web stores selling at higher prices? No one holds a gun to your heads to buy from them. If you don't like the prices, then don't shop there, it's just that simple! I'm kind of sick of hearing complaints like these. Do your homework & shop around for the best prices like others do. As for the Credit approval in big bold letters, it's up to the consumer to read the fine print that will state "must apply & be approved to receive credit"...Again, it's up to the buyer to do the homework to see if these companies work for them or not, not the other way around. You act like they are your parents & they are supposed to look out for you instead of what they are... companies that are out to make $...You wouldn't complain if you had stock in the companies though...
If you have great credit, you don't need Fingerhut, nor Gettington - both companies are aimed at people who don't have the best credit. It is what it is. These companies serve a purpose - to help you establish/re-establish credit. That's it, and they do a good job at what they're designed to do. People with great credit don't give them a second look, and rightly so. Once your credit score is at the place where you have better credit options, you don't need them anymore, so you get rid of them and keep it moving. I do my research and only order items that are priced competitively. I'm not going to need them much longer, and while I look forward to that day, I also appreciate that they took a chance on me (I went from a $400 credit limit, to $2500, in about a year). People complain so much...and a lot of it has to do with not understanding how things work - if your credit sucks, you have to go with the flow, and ride it out until things improve.
The problem I have with is the association of fingerhut and gettington. I was approved by fingerhut for 400$ in credit. So I charged a vacuum cleaner that was actually a good deal through them. Then I paid the 140$ vacuum cleaner off in 2 months avoiding a lot of interest. Then fingerhut starts blasting me with catalogs and raising my credit line. But there's nothing I need from them. They constantly sent me reminders about how much credit is available trying to get me to charge it up. I didn't charge anything more. NOW, here's the kicker: after awhile this gettington catalog arrives with the same exact return address as fingerhut( same company) This catalog had much lower prices and a great selection of nice items at walmart prices. It said I was pre approved for 500$. I'm like cool I might order something. So I did and at checkout the screen said you must apply for credit? I'm like, huh, ok? So I filled it out and the results was declined! My theory is fingerhut and gettington same company. Fingerhut pissed because I wasn't charging up at their high prices, so they sent this other gettington with great prices saying I'm pre approved then deny me when I seen the good deal. Now there hoping since declined through gettington I will go to the fingerhut site and by the same item at their [censored] prices and interest. See what I'm getting at? They are marketing scammers sucking the last dollar out people's pocket that have not so good credit. Someone with great credit would toss this ### in the trash. This country is a bunch of greedy ### that would rip off their own mother.
I've done business with them and I've bought a laptop and desktop computer, a heart monitor watch, surround system, 2 ipods, etc... I've always price compared with other retailers and on some things they might be quiet a bit higher but then I just pay cash for the item locally, other times they are within 5 to 10 dollars cheaper or higher of the item and so I'll use my credit account. If you are smart you'll always find a free shipping coupon on retailmenot.com or other coupon to save you from 10 to 20 dollars which then covers the cost of shipping. I've never outright paid for shipping at this site. Customer service is nice and they do sell name brand products in addition to the cheapos. Ultimately they have served me well for my purposes and I would recommend them.
Gettingtons prices are the same as walmart and amazon right now, and have been for a couple months. ordered my keurig, it was 179.99 through them and 179.99 at walmart.
I disagree. Gettington.com is for people who don't have good credit, therefore they probably don't have a Visa or Mastercard to buy the stuff on google as you suggest. The stuff costs more because of the huge credit risk they are taking by financing people with poor credit. If most of their purchasers default on their credit agreements, they have no choice but to charge more to make up for this. They report to the credit bureaus and are a great option for those looking to rebuild their credit. For those who are familiar with fingerhut, gettington is their sister company under their parent bluestem brands. Definitely not a scam, they've been around forever.
This company sent me a Summer 2011 catalog that showed I was PRE QUALIFIED for credit. But when I called they said that I had to qualify again. This is unfair credit practices, and I will be filing a complaint with BBB and the FTC (Fair Credit Trade Practices Act). I would advise others to do so also.
This company sent me a summer 2011 catalouge with Pre-Approval in BIG BOLD LETTETS. The inofrmation did not clearly spell out that pre approved meant applying and qualifying through credit verification AGAIN. I thought they had already checked my credit to prequalify me. I will be filing the BBB and the FTC because this is unfair credit practices.
Poor quality, directions & appearance, beware of this company
Ordered a shoe storage bench. Arrived in a timely manner however, they sent 3 of them. Called "customer service" and they immediately claimed responsibility for the error and said that mailing lables to return the additional 2 would arrive in 7-10 days. Once received, they would refund the amount of the 2 benches. I let them know that this was unacceptable...
