Buyer Beware: My Disappointing Experience with Gettington's Computer Products
So, I gotta say, I wish I had done my research before buying from Gettington. My buddy told me to check them out because they let you pay on credit, which was a big plus for me. But man, was that a mistake.
I ordered a laptop from them and when it arrived, I couldn't even use my headphones with it. So, I sent it back right away and they did replace it, but that was the only good thing that happened. After just two years, the replacement laptop needed a new motherboard! I tried reaching out to the bigwigs at Gettington's parent company, Bluestem Brands, Inc., but I never heard back from them.
After three weeks of no response, I decided to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. And finally, I got a response from Gettington.com. But it wasn't what I was hoping for. They basically just told me that their warranty only lasts for 90 days and that I should contact Dell directly. But here's the thing - I had a refurbished Dell before that worked perfectly for five years! So, I'm pretty sure that Gettington's computer products just aren't up to snuff. That's probably why they have such low prices.
I'm never buying anything from Gettington again, or their sister company Fingerhut, which is also owned by Bluestem Brands, Inc. I really should have done my research before buying from them. There are so many complaints from their customers online, it's ridiculous. Maybe if people stopped buying from them altogether, they'd start treating their customers better. But until then, I'm staying far away from Gettington.
Unprofessional and Frustrating: My Experience with Gettington.com
I'm a big fan of online shopping, especially during the holidays. But let me tell you, I've never come across a more unprofessional and frustrating shopping site than Gettington. I ordered an item well in advance for the holidays, but a month later, it still hadn't arrived. I tried calling their customer service line, but was left on hold for 20 minutes before giving up. The next day, I tried again with the same result. So I decided to email them, but even after waiting 4 days for a response, I got nothing.
Finally, I decided to use their chat feature, which took 5 minutes just to get my question answered. And to make matters worse, they asked for my social security number! I've shopped online plenty of times before and have never been asked for that kind of information. The representative apologized but couldn't explain why it was required. I refused to give it and was told that my shipment was back-ordered until a week after the holidays.
But then, another representative assured me that part of my shipment (a gift for a toddler) would arrive on or before Christmas. I didn't believe them, so I tried calling again. After 10 minutes, I finally got through to someone who told me that the entire order, including the doll, wouldn't be shipped until the second week of January 2013. So the previous representative's guarantee was false! What if I had believed them? My little girl would have been so disappointed.
I ended up canceling my order and was completely disgusted with the whole experience. And to top it off, the doll was sold out everywhere else, so I had to pay double on Amazon just to get it. Thanks a lot, Gettington.com. You're a real waste of internet space.
Terrible Customer Service and False Claims: My Experience with Gettington
I gotta say, I had a pretty rough experience with Gettington. I ordered something from them and when it arrived, there were pieces missing. I mean, mistakes happen, right? So I called up their customer service line, but let me tell you, that was a whole ordeal. I had to go through this automated system that just kept asking me to enter numbers and categories, and none of them were even close to what I needed. It was like they didn't even have an option for "complaints." Finally, I got through to a real person, but they were just terrible. They didn't seem to care about my problem at all, and it took forever to get them to agree to send me the missing parts. I even asked if they could expedite the shipping, since it was for a heater and it was freezing outside, but they wouldn't do it. So I just had to settle for regular shipping and hope for the best.
But then, the next day, I got an email from some weird address at fingerhut.com, saying that the part wasn't actually missing and that I was just assembling the item wrong. I mean, come on. I went back and double-checked everything, and I know for a fact that the parts were missing. So I responded to the email and even sent them photos of what I received, but I never heard back from them. It's like they just didn't care at all.
Honestly, I wish I had looked up reviews for Gettington before I ordered from them. I checked out Site Jabber afterwards, and let me tell you, they have some of the worst reviews I've ever seen for a company that's still in business. I don't know how they're still around, but I have a feeling they won't be for much longer.
My Nightmare Experience with Gettington: Wrong Items, Broken Phone, and Terrible Customer Service
I gotta say, I had a pretty rough experience with Gettington. I placed an order for three items - two purses and an Apple iPhone. But when my package arrived, they sent me the wrong purse! And to make matters worse, the phone they sent was broken from the inside. I mean, come on, Apple even said it would never work!
So I started calling and messaging their warranty company, which was a total nightmare. It took them a whopping seven months to finally send me a replacement phone. And you'd think that would be the end of it, right? Nope. They sent me a phone that can only be used in Ireland. I live in Ohio!
When they called me asking for payment, I told them I'd pay when I got a working phone. I even blew up my Facebook page about the company and their warranty company, CCR. But when I talked to the CCR representative, she was so rude and angry with me. I mean, I get it, but still.
I've contacted Gettington themselves, but they said it's not their problem and to take it up with CCR. And after many, many contacts with CCR, they said they'd send me the correct piece in 8-10 weeks. So now it's been eight weeks and I still don't have a working phone.
To make matters worse, they lied to me about the phone being compatible with many carriers. I wanted to switch from T-Mobile to Verizon, but it turns out the phone is only compatible with T-Mobile and AT&T. I even went to the Apple store and spent 45 minutes each way trying to get it activated.
I tried to get them to keep the phone and credit my account, but they refused. So if you're thinking about using Gettington.com, I'd think twice. It's just not worth the drama. Good luck to anyone waiting for an order, and pray that it's what you actually ordered.
Disappointing Experience with Gettington: Defective Product and Poor Customer Service
I just wanted to share my experience with Gettington. I've been a loyal customer since 2016 and have purchased several items worth thousands of dollars. However, in August of 2019, I received a notice that my account would be closed due to inactivity if I didn't make a purchase. I didn't want to lose my account, so I decided to buy something to keep it active.
I ordered a solar welcome bear for my new home and everything seemed to go smoothly. The shipping was on time and the bear arrived undamaged. However, when I tried to turn it on, nothing happened. There were no instructions included, but I assumed it was easy to figure out. I left it in the sun for a day and tried again, but still nothing.
I contacted Gettington's customer service and was told to ship the bear back at my own expense. They would then send me a new one, also at my expense. The cost of shipping was more than the cost of the bear itself, which was frustrating.
I called customer service again and asked them to close my account. I didn't think it was fair that I had to pay for shipping defective merchandise and for the replacement. I felt like Gettington didn't care about their customers and only cared about getting the next sale.
If you're looking for great customer service and free shipping, I recommend going to Ebay. They offer credit and have excellent customer service. I'm disappointed that I had to leave Gettington, but I feel like I made the right decision.
Mixed Feelings About Gettington: Prices and Interest Rates Have Gone Up, but Customer Service is Good
I gotta say, I used to be a big fan of Gettington. But lately, things have been changing and not for the better. The prices and interest rates have gone up a lot, which is a real bummer. I mean, I don't hate them or anything, but I just don't use them as much anymore.
That being said, the orders I did place with them were always handled pretty well. There were a couple of times where FedEx SmartPost messed things up and delayed my delivery, but that's not really Gettington's fault. SmartPost is just the worst, you know?
Anyway, back in the day, I didn't have any problems with Gettington's customer service. I only had to call them once, and it wasn't even their fault. I live in a place where we don't have regular street addresses, so I had to call them to figure out how to get my package delivered. The lady who answered the phone was super nice and helpful. She even gave me free shipping to make up for the trouble I had to go through.
Overall, I don't have any major complaints about Gettington. Sure, their prices and interest rates are a little high, but they're still better than some other places out there. Plus, they're willing to work with people who don't have perfect credit, which is pretty cool. And they're really upfront about how much everything is going to cost you, so you don't have to worry about any surprises.
Just so you know, I'm not getting paid to say any of this. I'm just a regular guy who used to like Gettington and now likes them a little less. But they're still okay in my book.
Gettington Review: Hidden Fees, Poor Customer Service, and Frustration
I gotta say, I had a pretty bad experience with Gettington. I wanted to get my daughter a nice sofa for her new apartment, and I found one on their website for a great price - only $299! But boy, did that price tag turn out to be a lie. After delivery, they hit me with a $150 delivery charge that I wasn't expecting. And then, when I set up automatic payments for my line of credit with them, I thought everything was going smoothly. But after 5 months, they called me out of the blue saying I was late on my payment. I was confused, because I had set up automatic payments - or so I thought. Turns out, the auto-payment I set up expired after 5 months, and I didn't realize it. So I was hit with late fees every month, without even knowing it. When I asked why I wasn't notified of the late fees, the customer service rep wouldn't give me a straight answer. And when I asked to speak with a supervisor, he acted like it was a big deal. Like, come on man, if a customer wants to speak with a supervisor, just let them! Eventually, he offered to credit back some of the late fees, but it was only $60. I was so mad at that point, I just wanted to be done with them. I paid off the balance - which had somehow ballooned to $547.67 - and asked them to close my account and never contact me again. I wouldn't recommend doing business with these guys.
Disappointing Experience with Gettington: Late Delivery, Lost Package, and Poor Customer Service
So, I just wanted to share my experience with Gettington. I placed an order on November 21st, which was plenty of time to arrive by Christmas. I was happy to see that the two popular items I wanted were still in stock. The delivery date was promised to be December 7th. However, when I checked the tracking number, it showed that the UPS package was turned over to USPS for delivery. I was not informed about this change, and to make matters worse, I did not receive the package on the promised date. I was unable to track the packages since the UPS tracking number was no longer valid.
I waited for a few more days, thinking that the holiday season might have caused a delay. But on December 10th, I checked my account online and was shocked to see that my order had been returned! I contacted customer service, and the representative informed me that the item had been returned to USPS, and they returned it to Gettington. I was asked to reorder the items, but to my dismay, they were no longer in stock.
I was furious at this point, and the customer service representative was not very helpful. After 40 minutes on the phone, I was offered free shipping and $30 off on the new item, but only for one of them, not the two that I needed. I was insulted by this offer, and I demanded to speak with the manager. After being on the phone for over an hour, they offered me a total of $50 ($25 off each item) and free shipping. I needed these items as they were the "big" gift for my kids for Christmas, so I had to accept the deal, but I was not happy with the end result.
I find it hard to believe that this was all they were willing to offer, and they kept insisting on giving me free shipping, which should have been offered from the start. I am seriously reconsidering ordering from this company again.
Gotcha-tington": A Review of Gettington's Unreliable Promo Codes and Customer Service
I recently became a new customer of Gettington, which I found through their website on Sunday, November 17th, 2019. I was excited to find out that they had taken over a brand that I really like, Sahalie. However, it turns out that the only way to order Sahalie products since March 2018 is through Gettington. I must say, they should be called Gotcha-tington because they don't seem to be very upfront with their customers.
I was disappointed to find out that their promo codes don't work as detailed on the website. For example, as a new customer, I should have received free shipping on my first order. However, when I placed an order of a few very light clothing items for $103, the shipping cost was $24.75, which is almost a quarter of the purchase price! I thought I'd get free shipping with the promo code GET275, as per their website. But when I typed in the code at checkout, I received an error message when I hit the "place order" button, even though the shipping amount showed as 0 after I entered the promo code.
I tried several times to input the code, but it didn't work. I figured something might not be working correctly since it was Sunday, so I called their customer service number on Monday. However, I found out that they're only available from Monday to Friday. So, I called them again on Monday to get the promo code put into effect. But I got a song and dance about this code applying only if you get the Gettington credit card, and since I was paying with Visa, it wasn't valid. That is NOT what the promo code said. There was no mention of having to create a credit account with Gettington, just being new to Gettington. Also, their asking for my Social Security number didn't sound right.
I asked to speak with a supervisor, but I was put on "terminal hold" with the option of getting a call-back. They don't even have enough staff to handle the complaint calls! Of which I'm sure there are many, judging from the reviews on this and other independent websites. I'm glad I read them to avoid additional hassles.
I decided that I didn't need the items that badly and undid my order. I'm sorry that Sahalie is losing the business because their stuff is really lovely, good fabrics, fit, etc. I hope they resume doing business as themselves in the future. However, Gettington should be investigated by the Better Business Bureau. They need to be more transparent with their customers and honor their promo codes as advertised on their website.
Warning: Avoid Gettington at all costs - my nightmare experience with their autopay and customer service
I am absolutely flabbergasted by my experience with Gettington. I'm not sure if they're a legitimate company or just a bunch of scam artists. Whatever the case may be, I strongly advise against setting up autopay with them. It's been a complete nightmare dealing with this pathetic excuse for a company. I'm convinced that they're all a bunch of losers who couldn't get a real job if their lives depended on it. To make matters worse, every time I call customer service, I get connected to someone in the Philippines who I can barely understand. It's like they're only interested in taking my money and not actually helping me with my account issues.
I've had a problem with my account balance for weeks now, and every time I try to talk to customer service, they just forward me to their collection department. When I finally got through to someone in collections, they told me not to worry about making a minimum payment for the month because I had made a double payment for June and July. They assured me that an adjustment would be made by today, but here we are, and my account balance is still not adjusted, and my minimum payment is still showing as $66 when it should be $0. When I called today, they told me a completely different story and said that there was nothing they could do about my account balance or minimum payment. They're just waiting for me to miss my minimum payment due date so they can charge me another late fee. It's like they're intentionally trying to make my life difficult.
I've left several messages for supervisors regarding this issue, but no one has bothered to call me back. They've given me false information about their names, they don't update my account balance, and they don't follow up with me. Every time I call, I have to spend 25-30 minutes on the phone because they don't bother to update information from previous calls. It's like they're not even trying to be trustworthy.
To make matters worse, they claimed to have reimbursed me $40, but when I checked my bank transactions, there was no credit from Gettington. When I called customer service to inquire about this, they kept insisting that the reimbursement had been made. I had to go to my bank and have the branch manager fax Gettington a statement showing that there was no credit of $40 from them. Despite this, they still haven't updated my account balance. It's been a complete headache dealing with them, and I'm seriously considering taking them to court if I have to.
I've spent almost 800 minutes on the phone with them about this issue, and they still haven't been able to resolve it. All they do is transfer me back and forth between customer service and collections, and it's nearly impossible to understand their thick accents. I'm beyond frustrated with how they handle their business, and I strongly advise against giving them your bank information. If you're already a customer, I suggest closing your account ASAP before they ruin your credit. Consider yourself warned!

Gettington: Overpriced and Preying on the Vulnerable
I gotta say, I'm pretty fed up with all these companies trying to pull a fast one on me with their "pre-approved credit" and overpriced items. It's like they think I'm some kind of sucker who doesn't know any better. Well, I did some digging around and compared prices, and let me tell you, Gettington is no exception. They're charging about 25% more than what I'd pay if I just went to the store myself. And don't even get me started on the shipping fees. It's like they're trying to nickel and dime me at every turn.
It's pretty clear to me that Gettington is just another one of those companies that preys on people who are down on their luck. They know that times are tough, and they're trying to take advantage of that by marketing to people who don't know any better or who have credit problems. It's a cheap gimmick, if you ask me.
If Gettington really wanted to help people, they'd lower their prices and offer good quality merchandise. But instead, they're just trying to squeeze every last penny out of their customers. I mean, come on, they're charging $149.00 for a DeWalt cordless drill that I could get for $119.00 at my local home improvement center. That's just plain greedy.
It's companies like Gettington that got us into this mess in the first place. They don't care about helping people or restoring consumer confidence. They're only interested in lining their own pockets. Well, I for one am sick of it.
In fact, I'm thinking about starting my own catalog service someday. But unlike Gettington, I'll offer prices that make people feel good about their purchases. I want my customers to come back and appreciate the fact that they got a good deal, not feel like they've been ripped off by some insensitive company representative whose only job is to protect the company's bottom line.
So before you make any purchases, do yourself a favor and Google it. Compare prices and see who can offer you the best deal. And trust me, it's not always the big companies with the flashy catalogs and the pre-approved credit offers. Sometimes, the best deals are the ones you find for yourself.
Disappointing Experience with Gettington: Difficulty Cancelling Order and Poor Customer Service
I've been a happy customer of Gettington for about half a year now. I haven't had any issues until recently when I ordered a treadmill on January 17th. The next day, I realized that it would be too heavy for me to handle, so I called customer service on the 18th to cancel the order. At that time, the order hadn't been shipped yet, so the representative told me that it wouldn't be a problem to cancel it. However, two days later, I received an email saying that the order had been shipped. I called customer service again, and this time, they told me that it had already been shipped and couldn't be cancelled. They suggested that I call UPS to cancel it. I called UPS, but they didn't have any record of it being shipped, only that the label had been generated. Unfortunately, I couldn't cancel it.
I kept checking the tracking number, and I noticed that Gettington.com didn't even ship it until January 22nd. When UPS finally delivered it on the 25th, I refused to accept it. I think that eventually, they will take the charge off my account, but they will charge me the $65 shipping charges. As of now, I haven't seen any changes in my account balance. However, the tracking information shows that the returned package was received by Gettington on February 8th and signed by someone there.
When I called to find out when the charge would be removed, I couldn't talk to anyone. I was only given automated selections. According to the Returns Q&A section, returns can take up to 10 days to show on my balance. Unfortunately, there is all sorts of small print in the Returns Q&A section about how they handle returns, and nothing seems positive.
Overall, I'm disappointed with the experience I had with Gettington. I hope that they will take care of the issue soon and remove the charge from my account. I also hope that they will improve their customer service and make it easier to talk to a real person.
Gettington Review: A Total Rip-Off for Customers with High Interest Rates and Outdated Products
I've been a loyal customer of Gettington for over four years now, and I have to say, it's time for people to wake up and realize that this online store is the biggest rip-off out there!
Gettington preys on people with bad or low credit, offering them credit with high interest rates and monthly payments that are impossible to keep up with. And don't even get me started on their so-called "sales" - they're all a bunch of lies! Their prices are already way too high, and when they claim to offer a certain percentage off, it's just a scam to make you think you're getting a deal. Trust me, you can find better, newer products and cheaper deals elsewhere if you're smart.
And let's talk about their electronics and computers - they're all outdated or older models that they sell at the same prices as the newer models! It's a total rip-off.
If you're still shopping with Gettington, you must not be very intelligent and enjoy throwing your money away. After doing my own deep research as a Gettington customer, I can confirm that they really do rip off their customers. My advice to everyone is to research the product you're interested in, compare prices, and you'll see for yourself that Gettington has older models with new model's prices, plus inflated pricing. Do your research before buying from Gettington!

Unfair Cancellation Policy and Poor Customer Service - My Experience with Gettington
I've been a customer of Gettington since December 2012 and have bought several items from them. I always make sure to pay my bill on time. Recently, I ordered three items, two of which were for someone who has brain cancer. I moved to a different apartment in the same address and changed my apartment number online. I received an order confirmation and emails that said my order would be shipped. However, when I checked the next day, only one item had been shipped while the others had been cancelled.
I called their customer service and they said the order was cancelled due to suspicious activity on my account because I changed apartment numbers on my account. I assured them it was me and asked them to ship my order. They asked me questions about myself and my account which I answered. They told me that I had to mail a copy of my driver's license and utility bill to them to prove that I moved and they would not ship until I did. I asked them why I got the account if I didn't have to show proof of where I lived. I also told them to cancel the two orders that didn't ship. Unfortunately, the one order that did ship was cancelled while the delivery driver was walking to my door when he got a call not to give the package. It's terrible that I have ordered and paid off several things with this company and always pay my bill. I will never do business with them again.
Overall, my experience with Gettington has been disappointing. Their customer service was not helpful and their cancellation policy seems unfair. I hope they can improve their services in the future.
Disappointing Experience with Gettington: Difficult to Cancel Order and Poor Customer Service
Gettington is a website that I recently used to purchase an item. I found the prices to be a bit high, but I went ahead and placed an order anyway. Unfortunately, I quickly realized that I didn't want the item after all and tried to cancel the order. However, I found out that there is no "Cancel order" button on the website, and instead, I had to send an email to request a cancellation.
I sent the email on a Saturday, but since the company is closed on weekends, I didn't receive a response until Monday. By that time, the item had already shipped, and I was told that I would have to pay for return shipping if I wanted to send it back. I was frustrated by this, as I felt that the website should have made it easier to cancel an order.
When I called the company to try to resolve the issue, I was put on hold for 40 minutes before finally speaking to a representative. She checked my order and confirmed that it had already shipped, which seemed odd to me since I had spoken to her at 8:40am on a Monday, and the company was closed on weekends. I used to work in shipping and receiving, and I know that FedEx doesn't typically pick up orders from businesses first thing in the morning. Instead, they usually make deliveries to homes and businesses throughout the day and then pick up outgoing orders at the end of the day.
To make matters worse, the company suggested that I try out a computer for 30 days and then send it back if I didn't like it. I explained that the item was actually a gift for someone, but I had found out that they didn't like Windows 8, which is why I wanted to cancel the order. I felt that this was a ridiculous suggestion and that the company should have made it easier for me to cancel the order in the first place.
Overall, I was very disappointed with my experience with Gettington. While the website may have some good deals, I don't think it's worth the hassle of dealing with their customer service if you need to cancel an order. I won't be ordering from them again in the future.
Gettington Review: Terrible Customer Service, Shipping, and Return Policy
So, I had ordered some items from Gettington for a special event. When the items arrived, I was disappointed to find out that they had sent me the wrong size shoes. I immediately called their customer service and they told me that I would have to send the shoes back and follow the instructions on the label that came with my items. However, there were no return codes specified on this packing list, so I had to call back again to get the code.
To my surprise, the return postage label they sent me said that I would be charged to send back the item they sent me in error! I was not happy about this and called them again. After talking to a second person, they finally agreed to send me a return postage label without any charge. This should have been done with my first call! I sent the package back, following all the instructions for an exchange. However, it took ten days before they even received my shoes back.
I called them again to see what the hold up was and the customer service representative told me that it would take ten more days to credit my account! I was not happy about this either because I had asked for an exchange, not a refund. The representative clearly had no idea what was happening with my order. This could have been a language barrier, since every agent I spoke to since this mess started could barely speak English!
To make matters worse, the representative told me that it would take another ten days to get my shoes to me. Really?! I was not confident at all that this was going to turn out correctly, but I decided to wait and see. However, I will NEVER do business with this company again. Also, their shipping is outrageous! They charged me over $34 to ship a 4 lb package! That's robbery! I strongly advise you to stay away from this company.
Gettington Review: Good Products, Poor Customer Service Practices
I've been a customer of Gettington for quite some time now and I've purchased several items from them without any issues. However, I have a bone to pick with some of their business practices. Let me explain what happened to me.
I usually pay my bills online every month and I like to pay extra to pay things off more quickly. I kept paying the same amount every month, even though I made no additional purchases and my balance kept going down. One day, I realized that I hadn't received a paper bill from them in some time and had no idea what my actual balance was anymore! I tried logging into my account, but since my email address had changed, I was unable to log in. I emailed their customer service department, explained my situation, and asked for a paper statement to be mailed to the address they had on record for me. I was told that I would have to CALL them. I tried that and was put on hold for what felt like an eternity, which is unacceptable. I'm not sitting on hold just to get a paper statement. This situation is ridiculous!
I'm not asking for them to send me figures or confidential info via email, and I'm also not asking them to send something to a different address! I never asked to be put on paperless billing, and now I'm in a precarious place. I don't want negative marks on my credit rating, yet I'm sure one of the only ways I can get an accurate amount of what I owe is NOT to pay them! It's RIDICULOUS!
Despite this issue, I still think that Gettington is a decent online store. They have a wide range of products to choose from, and their prices are reasonable. I've never had any issues with the quality of the products that I've purchased from them, and their shipping is pretty fast. However, their customer service needs some improvement. They should make it easier for customers to get the information they need without having to jump through hoops. Overall, I would recommend Gettington to anyone who is looking for a good online store, but just be aware of their customer service issues.
Unforgettable Experience: A Review of the Best Restaurant in Town
We had been a customer for several years when we ordered a hot tub from them. Somehow it was put on fast pay. We called CS immediately and sorry we cannot change the pay type. Ok cancel the order it could not have shipped yet as it was done 5 minutes ago. Nope it is out at the warehouse and cannot be cancelled. Ok i will refuse it at the door... NO NO dont do that just accept it and we will set up a "special payment plan" auto payments and all. HA HA HA... fast forward to 1 year later. We recd a "late statement saying i need to remit 1100. To come int current! What the Frack are they talkin about? Called CS and it was in charge off status and no further auto pays would be done and it was going to collections. I asked if there would offer a settlement? And they said dunno will check with super and call back, I said by friday. Fast forward to today. Still no answer but will take a settlement of 700.00 and close acct. I ask if it will still be going to a debt collector... dunno, will ask super and get back to you next tuesday! And they want to know where their customers are going? CS is the worst anywhere. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.
UPDATE***
7/23/15 Gettington has come to their senses checked my account and decided that I was correct! They have adjusted my account and credit status and will now accept payments as agreed on before this mess. Still will not purchase from them again.
Gettington Charged Me Extra $355 - Shady Business Practices Alert!
So, I gotta tell ya, if you're thinking about using Gettington to buy stuff, you might wanna think twice. I mean, I spent over 400 bucks on their website, using my trusty ol' debit card, and everything seemed fine at first. But then, the very next day, my bank called me up all worried about some suspicious activity on my account. And when I looked into it, I found out that Gettington had charged me an extra 355 dollars on top of what I already spent!
Now, I don't know about you, but that seems pretty shady to me. When I called them up to ask what was going on, they told me that one of my items had shipped, so they had to charge me less. But that still doesn't explain why they charged me more in the first place! And now, because of their weird charging system, I've got all these "pending" charges on my account, which means I can't access my money until my bank clears them. And that could take up to 5 business days!
I mean, seriously, who does business like that? It's not like I'm made of money, you know? I've got bills to pay, like my car payment, which I might not be able to make on time now because of these stupid "pending" charges. And don't even get me started on Christmas shopping! I had to redo all of it because I can't trust companies like Gettington anymore. I'm gonna stick with Amazon from now on.
Honestly, I'm so mad about this whole thing that I'm thinking about getting a lawyer involved. I mean, this can't be legal, right? The way they do their charges is just plain wrong. So, if you're thinking about using Gettington, just be careful. And maybe use a credit card instead of a debit card, just to be safe.
Terrible Experience with Gettington: Poor Customer Service and Incorrect Shipments
Gettington is a company that has recently acquired Sahalie, a clothing brand that I have been purchasing from for several years. I used to be a satisfied customer of Sahalie, but since the acquisition, my experience with Gettington has been nothing but terrible. I will never buy from this company again.
One of the first things I noticed was that their catalogues do not include a phone number. Instead, they only provide a website. I had to resort to Google to find their phone number. When I called, I was greeted with an automated message that required me to provide the last 4 digits of my social security number just to get to Customer Service. I refused to do this and pressed 0/zero. To make matters worse, the customer number on the back of my catalogue was "not valid," and their automated phone system hung up on me!
To add insult to injury, I recently received a shipment that was incorrect. I received shoes that I didn't order and didn't receive the dress that I did order. When I called Customer Service, the representative didn't understand what the problem was. I had to request to speak to her manager, who was quite rude when I said that I didn't want to pay for shipping (again) in order to have the dress sent to me. Eventually, she gave in, but she could not send the dress until they received the shoes.
I sent in the shoes and never received any notice from Gettington. I finally called and the Customer Service representative (again) didn't understand the issue, even when I told him that it was supposedly documented in their computer system. I had to request to speak to his manager again. She did resolve the issue, but why is this so difficult?
Overall, I am extremely disappointed with Gettington. I wish Sahalie had never sold to them. Their quality, customer service, and overall experience have been awful. I will never buy from this company again.
Billing
ElSafeline was added to my bill without my consent. As of now 1650.00 is from just that. That happens to be almost the entire amount of the bill. This is illegal and I plane to sue them. They are crooks and will do anything to get money. It's about to go down. I have contacted both SafeLine and gettington with no help from either. They seem to blame each other for me being charged. I actually think they are all sitting in the same cubical in Guatemala and laughing at anyone who needs help. I hope to shut down this sketchy company and let them see how karma works. I have never been treated so poorly. I had COVID for over a month. I came home and went through my bills to get caught up. I receive this bill electronically and never seemed to get caught up. I opened up a statement and to my surprise I saw this had been charging me for over 4 years. I blame myself for not being more aware. I completely blame them for not correcting their mistake. So corrupt and at such a horrible time that we are all going through. My attorney is working on this now!
Pots and pans and a small vacuum cleaner
I originally ordered pots and pans and a small vacuum cleaner but I returned both of the products within a week because they were not what I wanted. Gettington is still charging me for the products I don't do have and they're saying I have a past due balance. I already sent $40 but they are still asking for more, which I do not think I should be paying.
Seems a bit sketchy... Strange
I closed my account and paid off my balance. When I let them know my email address changed I was turned over to customer service and the rep asked me for my entire social security number! I told her no way that usually I'm asked for last 4 digits. She said it was "standard practice" and that "people do it all the time"! I said no way I want to talk to your supervisor. That's how identifies get stolen. I was on hold forever and hung up and called back. The rep I talked to said they are only supposed to ask for last 4 digits of social security number. BE CAREFUL your life is attached to this number! I would not do it. DO NOT GIVE YOUR WHOLE NUMBER OUT ITS NOT STANDARD PRACTICE!

treadmill does not work.
the box the treadmill arrived in, was almost totally destroyed in transit. I CAN'T rebox it, and I can't lift it to get it into a box anyway. Your absolutely ridiculous customer service number never allows you to actually speak to someone, and does not cover my problem. I want this picked up. YOU can box it, and I want all of my money, including shipping costs, returned to my account.
gettington company in whole
Bad, bad, bad, very bad experience I will tell you people a little story so in your future you are aware of it. I had 2 jobs so did my wife we were doing great so opened a Gettington account all was fine, then the unthinkable the crooks in wall street selling and trading loans killing the market and killing jobs. Long story short before I was late I called Gettington told them I am having problems and want to start paying it down and seeking help to stop some of the unreasonable interest building up. Did they help NO spoke to 5 different people and all had the same attitude Bad nasty and you call your self of business customer service I think not. Anyway things got worse filed for a 13 filing where I pay back a portion to all my creditors as opposed to a 7 filing where they get nothing back. I thought we were doing the right thing boy was I wrong the 13 filing was back in 2013 look where I am now 2018. Gettington still reporting to the credit bureau that I I failed to make payments in 2017. OK fo those of you who don't know THAT IS ILLEGAL. The filing was discharged in 2013 that is when these people are sent a cease and desist all communication and the court states these companies CAN NOT state you are not making payments cant call you cant collect from you. But did they listen NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO. They are still reporting me late in 2017. So someone tell me how this makes sense the account was closed and consumed in the court back in 2013 and considered paid in full. Now 3 years latter lie and hurt my credit because they are like VAMPIRES sucking and draining your blood till you die they don't even turn you just kill you. Now been looking for a attorney no one wants to help why not? why they are doing is illegal. I can see it was a mistake but look I told them they fixed it then 1 year latter a slap in the face because they put it back on again. You at gettington need to clean up your act because you are going to go down hill treating people like this.
Awful company
They have the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. Who cares about their products, if their customer service is so terrible?
Most of them don't even speak English well, not to mention that they are poorly trained (if they're trained, actually) and are very nervous.
My problem wasn't resolved and no wonder why. Moreover, a representative was ignorant and rude to me, probably because his English left much to be desired and he simply didn't understand what I wanted from him.
This business should be closed.
credit account
I got your name on my credit report and I never ordered anything from you. I can't get through the phone number on credit report [protected]. If there's an outstanding account I need to know as soon as possible because someone used my name and social security number for ordering things or other on this site. It's a fraud account in my name. Someone needs to give me a call at [protected] thank you Janet Leach
safeline plus
After Hurricane Sandy i had no residence for over 5 months.. So i had to go paperless since i dint want my information all over the place.. During this time magically they signed me up for a service called safeline Plus. almost two weeks ago while i was paying my bills i noticed that yet again my balance went up and my payment amount went up and i had not purchased anything in months.. so i looked on the web site for my statement and i saw a charge i dint recognize so i called them up. they informed me that they had been charging me for over a year over a thousand dollars worth.. i told them 1) I NEVER singed up for this service since at that time i had credit monitoring threw another company and did not need two.. and 2) I wanted my money back immediately because this was a fraudulent charge that i neither signed up for nor agreed to.
They informed me that they could not help me. i asked them but they are attached to you.. they gave me the number of safeline and they told me that Gettington gave them my information and signed me up for the service.. I was shocked and immediately informed them that i wanted every penny back because i never requested the service nor did i sign up for it. they informed me that they could cancel the service as of July 8th and give me last month and this months payment but would not give me the previous.. i was outraged i told them that this was fraud and the lady hung up the phone on me. i called Gettington back and informed them that i wanted them removed from my account and that i did not want to see another penny taken for something i never signed up for.. they told me in ten days i would have my money back and yet we are at the 28th and i have yet to see a penny returned... i called today and they said they could not find any record of my conversation even after i gave them the case number they gave me.. this is fraud and they are both in it. Something needs to be done about both of these companies.
Fraudulent charges
I joined Gettington about six months ago and ordered a few things from this website. Without my permission they signed me up for a membership and these six months they were charging me without my permission. I never agreed to sign up and they never even asked if I wanted to. I asked for a refund many times and recently they finally agreed! They refunded me only one months and they still owe me for the other 5! Do not deal with this scam! I'll cancel my account as soon as I get all my money back!
