I registered for their website and submitted my order to sell my gift cards. They gave me an offer and I accepted. They make you pay for shipping while selling them your cards when they advertise free shipping however I disregarded and mailed in my gift cards. I FINALLY received an email 2 weeks later stating they received my cards when I had tracking information stating it had been delivered awhile before. Then in the email I was requested to fill out the contract sign and fax or email back. I did what they asked. One question asked how did I get the cards I said it was a gift from family. Then they wanted a copy of my drivers license and ssn. I refused to send either and then they emailed me saying that they werent able to buy the cards because I didnt have the receipt. Why would I have the receipt if it was a gift? Then they asked that I send THEM a self-addressed postage paid envelope then they would return the cards. These people are very unprofessional, they never answer their customer help phone number. WHen yousubmit a complaint you receive only automated responces. I believe its a scam and I will never do business with them ever again. I will go back to using plasticjungle.com. They are fast professional and not scammers.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Wow, I have the same problem too. They advertised free shipping too and it never happended neither. GiftCardRescue = GiftCardTHIEF, this place is a SCAM. I sent the card and they also asked me to sign and fax. After I signed and faxed, then they ask for my driver license. I said I don't feel comfortable faxing my driver license so just send back my card, then Barrie Cason that works at this place said that I need to send them a self address and stamped envelope so they can send back my card to me. Today I got an email from GiftCardRescue = GiftCardTHIEF saying that if I don't send them a returned self address and stamped evenlope, my Gift Card will be donate to them on my behalf. What kind of BS is this?
Wow. That's swell. I have $3000 worth of cards there AS WE SPEAK, and they're claiming that they never got them, though the Post Office said that they received them over a week ago. I DID send then a copy of my driver's license, the receipt, the evidence of where I got them, the contract and the questionnaire. I tried to call them today, but their service line went to a fax machine, and their order tracking line went to voicemail. I worked hard for those gift cards, and am very irritated and upset that they haven't resolved this one way or the other. I WOULD send them a self addressed envelope if necessary to at least get the cards back. If I don't get the money or my cards soon, I will be filing a report with the BBB and pursuing legal action as needed.
I had the exact same experience! This is s TOTAL scam! They held our gift cards for weeks and would not return phone calls or emails! We tried to leave a message and their mailbox was mysteriously full? Must be all of the complaints!
i sent them some cards too and they claimed they never got them.. use plastic jungle or cardpool .
I picked Gift Card Rescue because of their advertisement, "As Featured In New York Times, Wall Street Journal, CBS, etc..." . As it turns out the mentions on these prestigious publications and programs are meaningless along with the order processing and check delivery promises on their website. Gift Card Rescue received my gift card over one month ago. It was verified received under my account. I understood that there would be possible delays of a few days due to the Christmas/New Year holiday. I waited almost two weeks for them to process a check. As of today I am still waiting to receive that check. I keep calling their customer service number and it goes to voice mail. I leave my order number and name with phone number and never get a call back. I sent them emails and no one responds. At this point I wonder if they kept the card which is worth $1500.00.
I wish I would have did this research before sending in my $200 gift card, which was weeks ago and I am still waiting on a check that was mailed 2 wks ago. It should have tipped me off that the founders name was Kwame. :(
Dear NuyerMom,
I would like to apologize for your unpleasant experience with our company. We aim to provide exceptional customer service to all our consumers, so I apologize that your experience did not reflect our enforced goals. During peak months, such as December, we experience delays due to the high volume of gift cards we receive. During this time, it takes us longer than usual to process all of the gift cards we receive. As a company, we do require certain information to be provided to accept your transaction. We reserve the right to reject a transaction if the customer is unable to provide the information requested. We ask for certain documentation, such as your driver’s license, to verify buyer information and identity. This is a standard process used for high value transactions to protect our consumers and company from any fraudulent activity involving the gift cards. As far as shipping, we do offer free shipping if you are purchasing a gift card from us, but not if you are selling a one to us. You are responsible for the shipping of your gift cards. If we decide not purchase your gift card for any reason, per our Terms and Conditions (which you accepted during the selling process), we require that you send a self-addressed stamped envelope so we can return your card back to you. Let me assure you, that we are not trying to scam our consumers by any means. We have been in business for five years now and originally got our start on the popular ABC show, Shark Tank. When a complaint is submitted, each is read and addressed on an individual basis. Again, we apologize about your unpleasant experience and hope to regain your trust with our company.
Kind Regards,

Dear Lsbovee,
I would like to apologize about the poor communication on our part. During peak months, such as December and January, we experience delays due to the high volume of gift cards we receive. As a result, our shipping team takes longer than usual to process and verify gift card orders, especially for high value orders. We appreciate your patience and understanding on this matter and hope to regain your trust as a company.
Kind Regards,

If you both could email me at carrieb@giftcardrescue.com I will be more than happy to get this situation taken care of for you. Again, I apologize about the delays. i actually purchased an H & M gift card from giftcard rescue and when it arrived i tried to use it at the store. come to find out it had a ZERO balance! i have been trying to get a refund from them ever since and have had no luck! i am thinking of reporting them if this is not taken care of soon. i call the phone number and sent emails and no reply. the phone number doesn't even have anyone answering.
Dear Cynthia211,
I apologize about our poor communication. We have been experiencing delays due to the high volume of gift cards we've received this past month. Can you please send me an email with your order code to carrieb@giftcardrescue.com so I can issue you a pre-paid label and get you a refund. Again, I apologize about this inconvenience.
Stay AWAY from these folks. I have already lost $100. I ordered a CVS giftcard which I never received.
Dear Samapen,
I have just received your email and am in the process of responding to get this issue resolved for you as soon as possible!
Thank you,
GiftCardRescue.com

I also used gift card rescue and my check never came in the mail.when I tried to contact them, I got no response then my account on their website was deleted.i tried emailing them several times but got no response.this company is a sham and I will tell every one of my friends about their lousy service
Dear K Gentry,
I apologize about your poor experience with our company. Please email me at carrieb@giftcardrescue.com so I can get this resolved for you as soon as possible. Thank you!
I'm having the same issue as all of you guys and I'm hoping I can get it resolved, but really don't see it happening without legal action at this point after speaking with my attorney. I sent a high value gift card and after they requested the receipt for it (which they didn't show was required in the website, ) I exchanged a few e-mails with them basically trying to find out what I should do since I don't have the receipt.
After stupidly giving away the information that I didn't have a receipt for the gift card, they then changed the 4 figure balance of my account that they owed me to $0.00.
I was reluctant to do it, but had to inform the person I received the card from about the situation and they got me a copy of the receipt.
I'm really hoping to avoid having this taken to court, but really don't see any other way for this to be resolved. I sent out an e-mail to carrieb@giftcardrescue.com. Awaiting a response now, and will update this when a resolution is reached.

It sounds like I should be glad that I only sent in a $50 gift card. I mailed the gift card in late December 2012 and as of today, have still heard NOTHING from the company. I've sent 5 emails asking when I can expect my check, all with NO RESPONSE! This is a complete and utter scam.
Gina C
OMG! This is ridiculous. I plan on contacting ABC so that they can do an investigation. I sent my cards on 2.27.13 and they received in 2 days. Two weeks later, I'm still waiting on my check. I would never have thought ABC would showcase such a fraudulent company.

Cynthia62,
I apologize about your poor experience with our company. Let me assure you that we are not trying to scam our customers. We have been in business for five years now and would no longer be is business if we were committing fraud. We have been experiencing delays due to the high volume of gift cards we've received this past month. As a result, we have been unable to promptly respond to emails and voicemails. For this we are deeply sorry. Please email me at carrieb@giftcardrescue.com so I can get this matter resolved for you as soon as possible. Thank you!
I have the same issue with this company. I sent the cards in next day delivery. I filled out all the appropriate paperwork, and included it with the original submission. They NEVER answer the phone, but they are MY CALL IS VERY IMPORTANT TO THEM! They sent me an email requiring a copy of my drivers license (didn't send that the first time - i mean really?), receipts showing i purchased them, and my original paperwork. I scanned everything in and emailed it back same day. 4 days later I asked for status. I received a another email announcing that it takes 7-10 business days to get the check! I know the Postal Service is having issues, but I get regular 42 cent mail from San Francisco in 3 days. They advised it was sent on 3-7-13 and my complaint was satisfactorily closed. I still don't have my money, but they have my cards - $1000.00 worth! This company is a full on scam. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! ABC, NBC, CBS, Wall Street Journal? I don't believe they were ever associated with these folks. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM
Dear Ken,
Let me assure you that we do not intend on "scamming" our customers. We have been in business for five years now and originally got our start on the ABC show, Shark Tank. I apologize about our poor communication. We have been experiencing delays due to the high volume of gift cards we've received this past month. As a result, we have been unable to promptly respond to emails and voicemails. For this we are deeply sorry. As far as the length of time it takes to receive your check--All of our checks are sent to our billing company and then issued directly to our customers. We can not personally write checks at our headquarters because of the amount of checks we issue each day, so we use bill.com. Our billing company (bill.com) has several locations around the United States so they issue your check from the closest location to them. We allow 7-10 business days for your check to be received because of the billing company. You may receive your check before this time but we guarantee that it will arrive by that time. I have pulled your account information and your check has been issued to you. According to bill.com your check is due to arrive no later than March 20th (today). Below is your account information regarding your check:
Check Number 2189212
Check Date 03/15/13
Arrives By 03/20/13
Check Amount $880.00
Memo Acct #93276-Inv #GLLA
I hope this helps to clear up any questions you may have had. Please feel to contact me personally if you have any other questions/comments/concerns regarding this matter. Also, please let me know if you do not receive your check today. My email is carrieb@giftcardrescue.com. Again, I apologize about the inconvenience. Thank you for your patience and understanding with this matter.
Absolutely agree with you guys. I sent my card and they said they received it on 2/21. Followed up with their additional information (DL included, but still feel hinky on that) and have received NOTHING! Tried to call today, went to voicemail, is this really a company or some scam in a basement? I then sent an email this am, no response yet, guess I need to call my attorney on Mon and see what I need to do, also go by USPO and see if I can start a mail fraud investigation, as goods were sent thru them. I understand the delays in Dec and Jan, but really haven't you caught up by now?
Once again, i see the same "sorry we are busy" post to my complaint. They put the same information on the BBB website. I really don't care about you being in business for 5 years, and that you were on Shark Tank.
I have called you on 6 separate occasions only to receive a couple of emails promising "the check's in the mail". One advised 5 business days (so March 12), another 11-14. (so March 16), and now you advised March 20 again, but it is now March 23rd, and NO CHECK!
Your actions do not match results, the comments you make "The Premier website for Gift Card exchange" is your label, it should read "The Worst Site and Business doing business to Scam You!", "you are very important to us" on the phone is a lie ", poor communication is correct, but it leads to your benefit NOT MINE. You have $1000.00 worth of my gift cards, and I do not have my money within the 48 hour promise you make on your web site.
Carrie B? what is your association, because you never respond either.
I too will be looking at Legal action and making complaints with the Post Office, and Attorney Generals in both our states. YOUR A FRAUD AND A SCAMMER, AND YOUR BUSINESS SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!
sGRRR13,
I apologize about your poor experience with our company. Let me assure you that we do not intend on "scamming" our customers. We have been in business for five years now and originally got our start on the ABC show, Shark Tank. We have been experiencing some staffing issues the past couple of months, but we have resolved that problem and are now fully staffed. Our customer service phone line [protected]) is open Monday-Friday from 9am to 5pm EST. You can also email me personally at carrieb@giftcardrescue.com so I can get this issue resolved for you as soon as possible. I apologize about this inconvenience. Thank you for your patience and understanding!
Kind Regards,

I sent three gift cards in and the total they had come to was $90.00. The two checks came in the mail and I immediately set out to cash them at two places. Long story short, the first place (Ace) told me that this business owed them money. The second place PNC bank refused to accept the checks and told me that they're bad check:(. So wtf do I do now with two bad checks? And if they're such a good business than I'm sure they have a measly $90.00 to give me in exchange for the two bad checks>.>...
KellyMarie7,
The checks sent from our billing company are valid. Please call [protected] so we can assist you. Thank you!
GiftCardRescue.com
I purchased a gift card the other night from their website long after their business hours were over. Their company closes at 5pm Eastern time. I cancelled my order minutes after I placed it once I realized that what I purchased was not an electronic gift card. The next day I received an email saying there will be a 10% restocking fee. I called and was told by Kevin that the supervisor Natalyn would be the only one who can waive it and she can be reached via email. After waiting for a response and not gotten one, I called Kevin again the next day. And again Natalyn was not available. She did respond via email and said no we will not waive it. What blew my mind is that Kevin also sent an email saying: "As stated by myself and my supervisor Natalyn there will be 10% Restocking Fee". This was really unprofessional. I buy a lot of gift cards online and I can't believe that they lost my business over $3.50. This was a clear example of how much they care about their repeat customers. Buyers, beware! No wonder their reviews are negative. Now I know! Wish I had seen this thread before I ever purchased from them. What a bunch of scammers!
Thank you for posting your reviews! I almost made a huge mistake and used this company! I'm so happy I read the reviews first and didn't finish my transaction with them!
hey any one that still out of money
or lost gift card to this company i might can help email me at cmccallum723@gmail.com but scam in subject box . I feel this company use a lot of the same
Cmccallum723@gmail.
com please if you had a problem email I want to take this company down they stole 1000 from me the more the better lets expose this company for what it is and stop them now
Never received a refund from the gift card that I bought and returned to them one month from now! I have been emailing the customer service and the agent that I was assigned to was Natalyn Obey! She was saying that they haven't received the gift card that I returned using their return mailing label a month ago. But I've been bugging them almost very week if they got the card in the mail. Had to dispute my refund to my credit card company! From then on, I am not buying gift cards from them anymore! I really hate this company! Buyers beware! Poor customer service! Very greedy for $$$$$!
The first gift card I sent them were in their hands on 6/6. They CLAIMED they mailed me a check 6/20. I received the check DATED 7/1. Now we move onto the 2nd gift card: It was in their hands 6/19, they CLAIMED they mailed the check 6/30, received it today dated 7/14. Again, nearly a month after they have my gift cards they finally mail my check! Their website claims all orders are processed and checks mailed out within 2 days - B.S. ! I have one more order out with them, when or if it finally arrives, I will NEVER do business with them again! Every time I email them the INSIST they mailed the check and it takes 14 mailing days for it to get here FIRST class from Cali!
I sent mine in 2 weeks ago, first class mail and surprise they have no record. Seen on shark tank and thought very cool. I wish I would've read these reviews before. No response to emails and no calls. I chatted with someone and it took 30 minutes to get a response. I guess My 250.00 is lost. I am contacting the BBB about these people but I am sure it won't matter.
I had the similar issue with this company too. This company held my $4700 gift cards and mailed me an empty envelop and claimed that they don't have any responsibility at all for all my cards. How to unite together sue this company?
Bought a card and checked the balance when it arrived and it was all there. This was a Christmas present for someone living/going to school out of town. They went to use it and the balance was $0. They said no refund as it was after their 60 day guarantee period. This was a Pac Sun card and I called them to see when and where it was used and it is in their Corporate office for fraud, whoever bought this used a credit card that was not theirs and then sold it on Gift Card Rescue who paid them the money. I'm sure they're going to get their money back by having their bank reverse the credit as long as the bank they put it into is still active but they won't give me my money back. Even went to the BBB which they are not accredited with. Gift Card Rescue's website states "The sale of stolen property or the perpetration of fraud on GiftCardRescue.com is strictly forbidden and violates the law" and other wording. Their website is a fraud because they are not doing anything even though I told them the card I purchased was from the sale of stolen property. DO NOT use this website they are a rip off! Use Raise.com they are great!
Bought gift cards that didn't work. Sent them back, no refund. Super pissed! Screwed out of almost $90.
