I never received one thing for the over $3200 I paid for nothing..
I went to an advertised vacation seminar and was promised a $500 cash giant eagle voucher for Attendeng. After the presentation, I told my then wife Tammy Balogh, that I'm not feeling good about this vacation thing, but with the high pressure salesman talking my wife into getting me to agree to purchasing this vacation time share thing for well over $3200 . We purchased this we got zero in return. The voucher was a scam as well, which I never received. Today I got a phone call from a rep from global vacation and after telling her how I got scammed back then, she gave me this customer service number to file a complaint and I'll probably be able to get some reimbursement from global vacations since I've never used your services whatsoever.

No credits due to rising covid cases in Scottsdale Arizona
I am trying to at least get my star credits back! My daughter is expecting her first child around the time of my reservation to go to Scottsdale. With the rise of covid cases in Scottsdale she asked me to cancel so I won't have to quarantine. I feel that with a 3 month notice I should at least get my credits back so I can go after the birth. My reservation #953954 and my membership #GD003719. I was supposed to go 11/05/2021

Complete rip-off. Have tried numerous times to use our membership to no avail. Tried today and now my membership is not recognized. Tried to call and they're not open on the weekend. It's getting harder and harder to find a reputable company to do business with anymore.
Desired outcome: Refund or at the least some kind of response.
They hired liars to promote their club
In 2013 we got an invitation to attend a presentation in return for free airplane tickets ( if we remember right we didn't get any ). Our first mistake is accepting the invitation. The presentation made joining the Global Discovery Club seem like it's a very good deal. A lot of lies and untrue promises. Our second mistake is that we believed all these lies. We paid $6000 dollars to get nothing in return. It's almost impossible to book anything through them. When we complained, they want us to pay more money to provide more choices so we can use the membership. There is NO trust so we are NOT going to pay a penny over the $6000. I may go to court to get my money back.
They said it's not us who gave these promises, it's the marketing company we hired. Whom to blame? any respectful company should get an honest respectful marketing company to represent them.
Desired outcome: Help others not to do the same mistake.
Membership
We enrolled in this company in 2017, we are just coming up on our 4 year anniversary and now that we are all paid up for our membership they want to change the structure of the company. We are being given 1 day to review the offer or the price is significantly higher to do make the upgrade. They flagged us for the upgrade because we booked a week getaway. So now we are having to face a high pressure sales gimmick just as we are starting our long needed vacation time. I haven't dealt with such an opportunist company before, they sell you a bill of goods and then as they grow you are penalized for not growing along with them. This is not how a reputable company does business, I will do my best to let everyone I come across know how this company is takes care of their members. Stay Away!
Completely taken and ripped off 10k from them.
Here's how alot of people's first experience with them started as so did mine. We was vacationing in Florida and some guy talked us into coming to this building for a presentation of their awesome business and would even be paid money just to attend. So I attended because vacations is something my wife and children will always remember after im gone. We were told they could book almost any vacation we would ever want to go on in the entire world. Then was told we would only pay $189 for a full week at any of the hotels/condos/resorts that was supposedly available at the time we was booking a vacation at. Then after we paid our full amount for the package deal we thought was so great and got taken for 10 grand. So you pay all that money and when you actually can plan a vacation now with them and pay your annual fee for whatever year you want to plan/book a vacation at. Which is $300-400 for the year your taking the family on a vacation or so you thought and believed into the scandalous scamming company. I went to try to find a decent place to use our package and only pay $189 for these so nice and luxurious hotels/condos/resorts they show you and make you believe into. But now you book almost any kind of vacation as far as location and they cannot find or get ya but 1 maybe 2 low low grade places to stay. And the other kicker while your already down and totally sick feeling it's no longer $189 for the week at any places they actually do offer its $400 now and was lied to and told over and over in their presentation say it with me guys $189 189 189 189 and that's a set price for life. Nope its not 189 and they lie and make every excuse of why they cannot put you anywhere buy junky old ratty places to stay even if you book it almost a year ahead when they only ask for 60 days. Save your money please everyone and will thank me in life later for saving you and your family thousands of wasted dollars and heartbreaking your family when you tell them well kids we now cannot take this nice vacation because your parents were scammed along with every customer whom fed into the massive scamming company that shouldn't even be allowed to keep ripping everyone completely off and ruining their families hopes of a vacation. Save the money they steal and use it to go on vacation. Do a little research on them before signing any papers like I was to blind and falsely led on to believe it was a really great money saver for families who like to vacation 1 or 2 times a year. And could even pass our membership onto our children after we die.
Desired outcome: Be compensated and payed back even half of the 10 grand stolen by this fraudulent global discovery vacations scamming business
WE just signed up yesterday and now we want to cancel because we cannot afford this program. There was the pressure yesterday to sign TODAY or else the price jumps $5,000. The presentation was very professional, and the pressure from 3 different sales people kept us off balance so we couldn't ask the right questions. Now thinking back on what we went through we realize that they never really answered our questions definitively.
We want out! We cannot afford this program.
How do we cancel?
Did putting this on the complaint board ever get you any satisfaction?
Membership
It's a bait and switch. My wife and I attended one of their seminars, and asked two specific questions. The salesman lied to our faces. When I contacted my phone rep (a different, very polite young man) to discuss a vacation, he explained that if I had read the fine print on the contract I would realize the sale's rep was "inaccurate". He gave me a number to call at Global's HQ to get my money back. HQ refused to allow me to cancel, despite the fact that they hadn't provided a single service. Avoid these people like the plague.
Trip I won after a seminar
We were given a voucher for a free trip. I sent in the $100.00 deposit they required on april 3, 2020, at this point I was supposed to get a resevation form in the mail to pick and reserve my vacation. I want my money back or a reservation form. Asap
Scam alert - global discovery vacations
I can almost verbatim echo the following complaint. They sales pitch a "free" offer. A law suit was filed in 2015 against them company for similar tactics. There hard sales pitch is full of lies and pressure. There is no consideration for 2020 Covid time when their resorts have been closed or there has been a lack of inventory for months. This company is a made over times share and a scam. Stay Away unless you like to waste you money.
"This company has been terrible, unless you are staying at one of their remote locations that no one wants to go to (unless you live in the region) They always come up with excuses, no room. Only available on certain days. This would be understandable if it didn't happen so much. This is by far the worst company out there. Customer service is very bad, they do not go out of your way to work something out at all. I definitely would not recommend them. Based on the stories above, it doesn't sound like they went to any prime locations so they wouldn't know the bad side of the company. This company needs to be fined, or at the very least a lawsuit against misrepresentation to customers. It was a total waste of money."
Customer service
Member since 2005, used their service 1 time. Upgraded this year hoping to take a much needed vacation. Then came corona virus, we were shut down by the state for over 3 months, no income & now open but with limits. Wife called to see if we could get an extension on our yearly fee & was told no. This extension would not cost the company one dime. What a...

This company does not tell you that your credit will be affected if payment is not made. I never used their product. I have never gone on vacation but here I am wanted to cancel membership only to be told no by the operational manager Eric **. This place is dishonest. Lies and scammers. After speaking with rep I advise her I am unable to make monthly payment because I recently lost my job. I was told I would be granted a fresh start if I schedule a one payment and that would bring the account current.
That payment was set up for the 28th of February. I also got a confirmation email for the payment to be withdrawn at that time but what they did was submit the payment for the 2/25/20 and cause the account to go into a negative status and was told my credit would be affected again for the second time. I would like this membership to be cancel. I have never used their vacation or free vacation even though it's not free because I was told to pay $600 as a down payment. This Company has ruin my credit.
Travel company charging an annual renewal membership fee.
We purchased a four star a year plan from Global Discovery Vacations. We were promised that we were only charged a cleaning deposit if we used our stars. We were told there was not an annual charge. Well, the first year is up, and guess what we are being charged a $398 dollar annual renewal fee. We did not use any stars and take any sort of a vacation. We were busy using our vacation money paying off the $7, 000 membership. Now that we have it paid for they are charging a renewal fee we were told would never happen.
Us too! never used it! within two years of paying it off. we have called many times just to be told "sorry", "too bad" "good luck gettin' out of this...". we are too old to travel. any money we do have goes for dr. s, drug stores and food. even our car is on its very last legs. but we're still paying $170.00 for nothing. nothing, apsolutly nothing! really, death is looking sweeter and sweeter everyday. (I kid you not!) they are sinful, evil, manipulative non-humans. all who work for these people, all who draw a paycheck from theses people have real blood on their hands. true, real american blood spilled because of their heartless, don't give a f — k polices. shame on them, the hotels, condos, airlines they use to pull off this scam.
Scam vacation offer
After 3 prior phone calls, I was just called again. It seems that most, if not all of these cultures have such a thick Indian accent that it is near impossible to understand them... maybe they are based in New Delhi..
After asking them not to call me again, they did so. When I said I couldn't understand what he was saying, which was true, he hung up on me. What I did manage to understand, was that they are going to be having their grand opening in the Roosevelt Field Mall, and to introduce me to their company, they would give me a free something or other if I came there.
One would think that if you are going to try to fleece the American public, you would hire people whose first language is english, or at least hire people who speak in such a way that they could be understood.
Hopefully, enough people avoid this scam that they evaporate quickly.
Travel scam
My story is the same as the others, they lie to you to get you to pay the "all inclusive vacation deals" that are in horrible areas and don't offer you anything without an additional fee! The amount of money I have put towards this so called vacation deal that I could've gone on 10 cruises and still have spending money. Save your money and book at nice vacation that will be less stressful and cheaper than this rip off company. BUYER BEWARE!
Availability of vacations
We were conned into purchasing a global vacations membership and out if desperation fir travel we agreed. Now that were paying its nearly impossible to book a vacation in any realistic places. They offer a refund if you use the package and dont save money but no option to even use the package to begin with! They claim to be the cheapest andmost affordable but its a scam! Even costco is cheaper and actually has dates available for travel . they harrassed us into a membership andnow nobody answers the phone to resolve issues.
We were promised one thing and then delivered another.
Do not use it enough to justify paying dues
they used to have the cheap vacations often but not any more. they hardly have them at all. they keep calling us about paying our dues when we don't have to pay until you use it. we do not use it enough to justify paying the dues. We have been getting cheaper places to stay without using Global.
We would like to sell our vacation package. It includes 2 stars and 6 expressway weeks. $4000.00. If anyone is interested please contact us by email, as I will not be checking on this site for replies. a.[protected]@att.net
Travel agency
We were repeatedly called by high pressure salesmen three times a week promising a free cruise or airfare after attending an one hour presentation. We finally agreed to attend to get the calls to stop and said we could only attend with our kids as our babysitters were unavailable. The manager said no problem and gave us a confirmation number. We showed up and told no kids allowed. From the hundreds of negative reviews on BBB and complaintsboard, I was already expecting to be scammed. Stay away.
Harassing phone calls - vacation club
Global Discovery Vacations is a timeshare type of vacation club that we bought into 15 years ago. We stopped using them 5 years ago because we would have to purchase additional weeks in order to be moved to the top of their list to be considered for condo availability at the time we want to vacation since their condos are limited. This company is now calling almost daily - to my cell phone and again to my landline. They want me to drive 1 1/2 hours to their location to have my picture taken to "update" their records. I have told them repeatedly that I will not do this and now I feel they are simply harassing me by calling non-stop.
Trial vacation package we purchased
Things aren't what we were told or promised. We have tried and tried to book a vacation and can't. This after we told we could go anytime anywhere and would have someone that would even get everything booked for us. But all we get is the run around and can't book when we want or if there is something it is always extra fees because of peak times and we can't book when or where we want to go because of all the rules they said were told to us but weren't.
We want our $ back we asked and no one responded. We have been so frustrated and just tired of this. It has caused us so much stress, we don't want to do this anymore. We were not told all the truths and lied to that they would accommodate us whenever and wherever we wanted to travel. That's why we told them how we travel, but they said oh no problem. Well it has been a big problem and we don't want to hassle anymore.
HOW DO WE GET A FULL REFUND SINCE WE CANT BOOK A VACATION?
Please respond.
Thank you.
Activity fee
I was just wondering if anyone else on here had or is having an issue with getting their reoccurring activity fee waived? I keep getting the run-around. They give you X amount of days in which to have your fee removed and that is all I want. We have never traveled with them nor do we plan on it. I'm upset that we even fell for the high-pressured sales pitch but now I'm just trying to pay it off and be done with them. I would be more than willing to join any class-action lawsuit(s) against this company. Please contact me with any lawsuit info.
