properties unable
Every time we tried to book a property, it was unable. We tried for 6 months to book in Florida in 2010 and finally gave up. As far as we are concerned we wasted $1500, which we could hardly afford being retired. They wanted an additional $380+ each year just to keep membership active, which we did not pay after being very frustrated with booking properties. They indicated that they were associated with RCI, another vacation club, but we were never able to book any property with RCI either. Stay away from this company!
disappointed & embarrassed
My husband and I have been members of Global Discovery Vacation Club for more than a year now and we still haven't paid even half of the $3700 that we signed up for. The interest rate is ridiculous and we don't even have anything to show for our frustration.
The free trip that we were given for showing up at the presentation never materialized. The resorts we wanted to visit were never available at the time we needed.
I am more than a little bit embarrassed to have been taken in this way. I should have known better and not believed 50% of what they were selling. Now we have to live with this monthly payment without any benefit to us.
Don't get suckered in to this company! It is not what it was advertised to be.
Not sure if my last post registered or not.
Thanks Eric! I will take your advise and mail one request cretifed and email the other.
Since I am not home, can you provide the email address and address so I can initiate this process ASAP.
Thanks for your asssistance (and NoThankQ).
Eric: Your quick response and customer service is really appreciated.
Thanks Eric! I will take that advice and ensure the cancellation request is submitted in writing today, with one version being certified and the other e-mailed.
Can you provide the email and mailing address right now, since I am not home and would like to initiate this process as quickly as possible?
Upon receipt of my cancellation request, I will be requesting confirmation the request was received timely and the memmbership terminated effetcive immediately.
Thank you very much for responding so timely. Your customer service is greatly appreciated.

If you signed up on Friday then the third business day is Wednesday. If you have any questions you are more than welcome to contact us and a member services representative would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. Other than that NoThankQ is pretty much spot on. We do recommend some sort of certified mail.

Thanks for the info. I believe I am still within my "3 business day" reconsideration window as stated on the back of the contract. I intend to mail a letter through ordinary US mail, have one certified, and one e-mailed. Hopefully, this cancellation attempt wil be sucessful.
My wife and I attended a seminar this past Friday (8/23/13). We think we may have made a haste decision and now would like out of our proposed contract. I understand we have 3 business days to do so. Please advise as to how cancel before the deadline.

misrepresenters
We went to a presentation for the incentives and liked the concept, but we didn't buy. I like to investigate on my own first. Sure glad I waited. The incentives we were supposed to get were not as represented. If they lie about the small stuff, what do you think will happen after they get your money. Don't get into bed with these guys unless you like getting screwed.

Nothing but a scam. I am so disappointed with this company. I am filing a complaint with the Ohio Attorney General's office. GDV is responsible for the promotional company they hire to get people to come to their presentation. They can claim it's a third party all they want. They will have to explain it to a judge, because I'm also going to sue for my money back. The member's service is a joke, the "travel agency" is a joke, the consumer product discounts are a joke. When I called to get discounts on events in Cleveland, I first told they had NO discounts available for any of my requests. And then I was told to google for discounts. This is not what I paid for.

I also went to their presentation for the incentives but did not buy in.Sure am glad I didn't.Could not find any info on company before attending because you are contacted and appt. set up by a third party. After getting home with thier name I Googled them and WOW!Just as I suspected-a huge scam! Not even going to try to cash in the "free" airline tkts.Read the restrictions & "service charges" and you'll realize its another attempt to rip you off.Stay away!
terrible customer service
Have only booked one vacation but every time I call the membership hotline I get forwarded to a VM and it takes at least a day to answer any questions I might have. Plus the majority of the paperwork that they give you is chalked full of BS making it difficult to find any kind of relevant information. So it wasn't surprising that I didn't realize that you have to sign up a second time to use the concierge service until less than two weeks before my vacation. Well it apparently takes 7-10 business days to get your membership activated - fat lot of good that does me now. When I called and finally got ahold of someone I was told that it was absolutely impossible to activate membership over the phone. Apparently it is exceedingly difficult to write down my membership number, name, and phone number (that is ALL that is on the mail in card). Overall I would give the customer service department a failing grade.
I was looking for a time share for June, to go out of state to our Son's wedding. They are not in an area where there are any timeshares...I checked several companies.
Therefore, I went online...Just googled the town for Hotels. LESS money...anywhere for hotels...GREAT discount...I THINK NOT!
HERE ARE EXAMPLES OF THREE HOTELS. ON THE left ARE THE PRICES I FOUND, NOT EVEN GOING THROUGH A DISCOUNT AGENCY. ON THE right, ARE GDV prices. I called and asked a travel agent @ GDV Why the prices I found were so much less expensive. Her Reply
My wife and I have traveled two to three times each year with Global. I have noticed the GLOBAL REPRESENTATIVES are extremely helpful. The representatives are better than when I first joined Global.
TRIPS
Florence Italy
Boyne Highlands Michigan two years...took grand daughters to ski school. (quality accommodations)
Port Clinton Reef Club..very nice condo
Napa...global found a unit for my wife and her daughter..they did not have units but provided one.
Aruba...Our Medical resident daughter took three friends and had a glorious time.
St Martin...great trip
The Abacos...great trip..the condo management solved our issues quite nicely.
Hilton Head three times
Destin Florida
The thing you must do is request 120 days in advance. Or buy from excess inventory called expressways..
Some expressways do not require star points...some are reduced price...
If you have a problem call Marcia in travel department...I have had nothing but good times. If there were any problems they were all resolved to my satisfaction. Steven and Michele

huge scam
Global Discovery Vacations promises no less than 3 Star stays at condos globally (resort areas - not major cities) for a membership fee that is far less than buying a time share, but still thousands of dollars. We thought with a family of five that this would be a great way to travel to interesting places without having to pay resort prices. The problem is that these condos are not what they promised. We used our membership to stay at Club Cala des Palmas in Puerto Rico for our first trip. Our room was old, filthy, moldy. Everything was chipped, the grout on the tiled floors looked like they'd never been cleaned. I don't think anyone would rate it above 1 Star (the pool was okay, but not great). They claim that they will get you a better room, but judging from the age of this place - and we suspect all of their properties - we decided to cut our losses and stay at a hotel in San Juan. We left after one uncomfortable night. When I tried to terminate my membership for their failure to provide 3 Star accommodations, I was told that they won't give me my money back, but will give me my "points" back for another stay somewhere else. We were then offered our maintenance fee for free for the following year. Great. Now I can try to find another 1 - 2 star condo somewhere else. This is a scam and I hope someone organizes a class action lawsuit against GDV. We're definitely in to try and recover our membership fee.

My wife and I are also victims of the Global Discovery Vacations scam that cost us $8, 900.00 to join in 2009. We have experienced all the complaints and disattisfaction that has been stated from others. In addtion to the travel and the other promotions that were promised to us never happened. I wrote a 3 page letter to Global, Mexican Paradise Getaways and Infinity Incentive Group and explained how disattisfied we are and request for a full refund and spoke with many representatives with no action taken. For the travel event we had to pay an additonal $350.00 for registration fees and whatever? I am in with the 3 companies at an approximate amount of $9, 250.00 and have not recevied any type of compensation or services that were promised. I would like to start a Class Action Lawsuit S.A.P. with the other unsatisfied customes!
fraud!
We too have been defrauded by this company-seems our salesman forgot to mention the part about the website only showing "examples" of places to go to-too bad they only show one place! And then they want me to pay in advance for this ridiculous vacation. Plus th3e customer service dept, is very snotty and short with you when you complain. We need to stop them, I will take the advice of others and complain to the Federal Trade commission, did complain to BBB in Kanasas but that got me nowhere. Hope to see them close up shop soon and take their bait and switch sales approach to the poor house!
We also want out of this company...I've been told we can go "inactive, " but we want out completely! We tried to cancel within the first couple of weeks & were told it was too late that out cancelation time was over. We finally got this paid for & thought we might actually use it, but like everyone else, they never have ANYTHING where we want to go & never at a time when we can get off work. Did you call this Eric Stout guy & if so, what is up with that? How on earth can we get this company out of business?

I totally agree and am looking for a way to get out from under this contract. Up until this I was able to book my own vacations successfully and did travel quite often. With this contract and my monthly payment of $217 (of which only $117 goes toward debt and $100 goes to finance charges each month) it's hard to afford a vacation any more. Got to find a lawyer and get out of this contract. I've always trusted people and felt good about being trusted. What a sucker I was. This was the worst financal endevor that I've ever made. With the economic situation the way it is, not many of us are traveling these days. These people are making it bad for the vacationing industry. Mybe the sincere travel industry people could help us put these frauds out of business. I, for one would be glade to participate in the service that they had to offer if they did.
stay away
I guess i am one of the many who got this contract signed up with this company. I triEd to get one of their "Expressways" weeks in gatlinburg and they told me no cabins in the state of Tn available, however I googled and ther are tons of cabins available for the week i needed it. Then they quoted me a vehicle rental for $1000.00 approx and i did it on line for $848.00!. The certificate I got for my so called free 1/wk cruise at the very bottom said in small print it had to be redeemed in 21 days which are over already! Also they are only opened from Mon-Midday Sat only. i am very dissappointed, they said this was like a travel agency, however you have to submit the week you need by e-mail and they get back to you in 7-10 days and if they do not then you can contact them, is any travel agency so complicated to get to? i am very sorry i got in this mess, I have wasted a lot of money and they should not be able to scam more persons. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO MY WORST ENEMIES.

misleading statements
High pressure sales tactics to purchase a new and improved kind of travel + buying club extraordinaire. Not one of the promises of widely available and networked travel sites were available. Ever. Customer service hours are Central Time Zone, M-Th 8-7, Friday 8-6, and Sat. 8-12, period. Of course there is a members only website that has very sparse information. Any requests for vacation lodging have to be made on-line, carry a 129. booking fee, and customers are reminded that in the fine print it says that a response to a search will take as long as two weeks. The only request I made came up empty, with the note that Global did not have any resort facilities in Cal near beaches, period. The website shows a picture of a young man with a surfboard, which leads one to wonder where he was surfing. In general the whole deal was a scam. Not one of the promises for personal travel agent service, and wider range of booking locales proved true. The service has been horrible and the property locations this bunch has bought up are pretty shoddy looking on close inspection. My husband and I lost 3000. to these crooks and we knew better.
Complete rip-off. Have tried numerous times to use our membership to no avail. Tried today and now my membership is not recognized. Tried to call and they're not open on the weekend. It's getting harder and harder to find a reputable company to do business with anymore.

unhappy with service and would like to get out of our contract
We are very un-happy with GDV and feel that everything we were told in the sales pitch was a lie. We were told that we could travel all over the world, hardly true it seems they have a few places mostly in the US and S. America. Told we could use two of our weeks if we wanted to book on short notice or during peak season, we couldn't find a place in Florida until next year no matter how many points we wanted to use. Worst of all we were told we got a discount on your membership because someone had just sold their membership back, yet after looking into the company after foolishly signing the contract we were told you could NOT sell your membership back. I have looked into the company and they do offer places to stay, however we feel that we were misled and lied to by te salesmen. The customer service has been a joke and even our "free" cruise we were promised is going to cost close to $10o. We are just very un-happy and would like to find a way to void our contract. I am preparing a letter for Tom Lyons and other execs as well as a couple of news websites. Please if anyone has had any luck getting out of wasting their $ with this company send my an e-mail @ [protected]@rocketmail.com. Thanks!

This has be the worst experience of my life! The biggest waste of money ever. We have been members for over 3 years and was able to use one time and it was a total DUMP. Stayed 2 nights and left. Tried to use other times and a joke. No days ever available. It is a full time job dealing with these scammers.

poor poor customer service
Please save your money and frustration. My husband and I joined Global Discovery Vacations recently. Their pitch is "Where would you like to go?" we have a book of over 4, 000 listing of timeshares which are in the pool of potential places to reserve. Since it's just my husband and I we figured we have a lot of flexibility of when and where we can go. We followed the rules, filled out the online reservation form well over the 90-120 days. We figured we'd ask for Key West, Florida (never expected to get it but, I had to ask) The issue began when the online reservation form says a customer service rep will contact you within 10 business days, but if they don't call them after 15 business days..ok... The 15th business day came and past and no call. I called the 800 number and was given another number to call and the reps name "Jenna". I called and got her voicemail, left a message. (this was early in the day). Before the end of day I called again, got voicemail, left a message. I did rec a call back from her stating she didn't have the list yet of what will be available. Ok, no problem but she said she didn't know when the list would be available. Ok, my problem is what's the process then?, I followed the rules of plenty advance notice. I don't trust I will receive a call back. I called again left a msg that I would like to add a 2nd choice and that we can travel any time from Dec thru Feb (I'd say that is flexible) also asking if I needed to fill out another request or if it can be added to the original request. No call back. This has been one week later so I called again in the morning...no call back. I'm beginning to wonder if I just threw away $4, 000.00. I certainly have better things to do than call and leave messages for someone 10 times before they call me back.
I am a member of a legal service which helps in these situations. Looks like I'll have to call them if I don't get a response back . Please SAVE YOUR MONEY.

Eric - Why soo many complaints? I purchased your program last night, and after doing just a few google searches found HUNDREDS of complaints. Your rep told me you were rated highly with the BBB. I found YOU WEREN'T EVEN REGISTERED WITH THEM! I also left without my free gift - I was under the assumption the agent placed it in my book, but when I got home it wasn't there! THEN, I did a quick google search of hotels in Italy and found they are cheaper than a budget hotel in Chicago! I was lead to believe they cost twice as much! Why would I want a 1500 sq foot condo on vacation? My house isn't even that big! All I want is a clean room NEAR TOWN. Your rooms are 20 minutes away. The more I think about this, the more I feel I should cancel.

the free vacation offered with signing up with global discovery vacations is a rip-off
The free vacation offered with signing up with Global Discovery Vacations is a rip-off. Global Discovery Vacations knows this and says it is all Celebrity Productions fault. We paid our $70 for both the cruise and free airline tickets. We recieved neither. Calls on the phone are never answered. After many months and many attempts to get get what I was promised. We are out $140 out, wasted multiple hours trying to get what was promised and ended up extremely mad and frustrated. In the end we just gave up. Global Discovery should make good on our loss and Celebrity Productions should be investigated.

Many of the GVN offices will show you a phony BBB rating that is not their true rating. Always check BBB ratings at www.bbb.org.
Secondly, GVN is offering huge prizes like Lincoln Navigators that are impossible to win. They are only giving away 1 and your chances to win it are 1 in a million. So if they told you that you won one, you probably didn't.
Good luck in your travels.

Global connection post presentation gift is useful joke. One air round trip for two and two nights in Marriott hotel in reality sound this way; you have to depart only on Monday or Tuesday definitely after 3pm and return in two days departing 6am cha cha cha so how many days you really have? ONE baby only ONE and only in the middle of the week and of course it can, t be used in the busy season.
And for this B.S. you have to apply 90 days before your trip no later and send them a 50$ money order per each person. What the perfect brain wash. P.S We did attend the representation in Gurnee, il 12-2010

Dear Takovan,
Hi, my name is Kim Wallech-White, and let me tell you that you did not get ripped off. While Im not sure about the offices your talking about being closed, let me give you Globals phone number that I always use. This phone number is [protected].Explain to the woman what your looking to do and they will connect you to the right place. However you can email me and this invite goes to everyone who loves, hates, misunderstands or is just looking to discuss Global. I truely and whole heartedly love my membership to the point I bought another, I now own 11 stars. This means Global Connections each and every year for the rest of my life will give me at a 97 percent success rate to go when and where I want to go for 11 weeks of vacation.Iknow what your thinking, who has that much vacation time. While I wish I had 11 weeks, but I I only have 5.I know, I know only 5?, but hey, Ive been at my job for 30 yrs, so I deserve it. Oh, by the way my email address is PSYCOKW@AOL.COM
Now, with an email that reads psycokw I always feel the need to explain the email address, so just bare with me.My son at the age
of 7 yrs (he is now 23)decided I needed an email address and he was just the one to make one up, and needless to say couldnt spell psycho correctly. Why did he think I was psycho? What child at the age of 7 doesnt think their parents are a little crazy?
O.K. back to Global, if you notice most of the complaints are about
the free gift and I totally agree with those complaints.Global connections needed to address those complaints and they did.For the average consumer who knows nothing about Global and they do a little research, well where do most poeople go to, the complaints or bbc and they see all these complaints about the free gift, they, as well as I would have, assume that the companys
gift is a reprecentation of Global itself.IT IS NOT!I DO BELEIVE GLOBAL IS ALOT AT FAULT FOR THE BAD COMPLAINTS THEY RECEIVE ONLY BECAUSE OF THE FREE GIFT.SO, they now give you for viewing the travel club(NOT A TIMESHARE, THERE IS A MAGOR DIFFERENCE) a free week(a 200$ deposit is placed on a credit card which you get back 14 days after your week is completed or if you cancel the free trip)( however if you do any damage to the property the deposit is forfeited)
Now I also agree with the complaints about different offices set up here and there and thats probably what has happened to you with the fact you cant get ahold of anyone. However, call the number above and they will connect you to the right place.I think, but honestly do not know, they must pay someone (whoever), to gather a group of people at their own discresion and set up house and get the consumer to sit in on a presentation. However, GLOBAL needs to realize perception is reality to most people and the consumer assumes that whatever their sales person is telling them is wholier than thou..IF YOU LEARN ONE THING ABOUT GLOBAL FROM THIS LENGHTLY MESSAGE, ITS THE EXACT SAME THING YOU SHOULD LEARN ABOUT LIFE ! HERE IS THE MESSAGE !
IF IT IS NOT WRITTEN DOWN IN A CONTRACT IT NEVERRRRRR HAPPENED! IT WILL ALWAYS BE THE SAME THING, WELL HE SAID BLAH BLAH BLAH
NOW the great thing about Global
1.THEY GUARENTEE TO GET YOU TO YOUR DESTINATION OF YOUR CHOICE 97 PERCENT OF THE TIME WHEN AND WHERE
YOU WANT TO GO.however, some people get this confused with their choice of resorts, For example, I put a request in (by fax and received a phone call within 24 hrs confirming they received my fax, you can also mail or email a request)The request was for Maui for 2 weeks in April and K aui for 1 week concurrent to Maui.I gave them exact dates, but not a resort, why not a resort?because, they only guarentee my destination of choice, not my resort. They called me and offered me several choices which I looked up online thru their link they offered and booked THE KAANAPALI BEACH RESORT ON MAUI AND THE POIPU POINT RESORT ON KAUI .HERE IS THE AMAZING POINT WITH GLOBAL CONNECTIONS .I LIKE TO PLAY A LITTLE GAME AND I ALWAYS LOOK UP TO SEE HOW MUCH IT WOULD HAVE COST ME TO STAY THERE.(meaning wherever they booked me)
So I looked up boh resorts and the figures are for Kaanapali resort
staying two weeks cost over 6, 000.00$ in a garden view and 7, 500.00 $ for 2 weeks in an ocean front room .HERE ARE MY FEES 389.00$ 1 TIME FEE PER YEAR, BUT ONLY IF YOU USE YOUR MEMBERSHIP THAT YEAR TRY DOING THAT WITH A TIMESHARE 96.00$ PER EACH WEEK (this is processinfg fee)
( for a total of 192.00$)a 6 star membership with the first membership which is the only one Im using for this trip so far)
these rooms are all 1 bedroom that I have choosen to stay in.Now
for Kaui fees I only pay (96.00 $) (this is for 1 week stay processing fee )I do not pay the 389.00 fee because its only a one time fee per year and ONLY if you travel within that year.Again I called POIPU POINT RESORT AND LOOKED ONLINE AND THEIR FEE IS 429.00$ PER NIGHT FOR A GRAND TOTAL OF OVER 3, 000.00$ AFTER TAXES. SOOOOO!HERE THE FACTS! MY TOTAL FOR 3 WEEKS IN HAWAII 687.00$ (ACTUALLY I never pay my 389.00$ activity fee because I always give a star to a co-worker and she is happy to pay my 389.00$ fee plus 96.00$ to go on vacation, but for all sakes and purposes lets pretend I paid the 389.00$ fee myself.SO AGAIN FOR 3 WEEKS IN HAWAII MY COST =687.00
RESORTS COST FOR 3 WEEKS-=OVER 10, 000.00$ IS GLOBAL WORTH IT? YOU TELL ME!
THE FUNNY THING IS IVE READ THESE COMMENTS PEOPLE SAY I WORK FOR GLOBAL AND GLOBAL IS A SKAM AND BLAH BLAH BLAH I DO NOT WORK FOR GLOBAL, BUT FEEL I PROBABLY COULD WRITE MY ROOM FEE OFF ON MY TAXES BECAUSE WHILE IM ON VACATION I NEVER SHUT UP ABOUT GLOBAL SO, HONESTLY DO NOT LISTEN TO PEOPLE WHO ARE ANGRY ABOUT THE FREE GIFTS THEY HAD TO JUMP THROUGH HOOPS TO GET ONLY TO REALIZE IT WASNT WORTH THE EFFORT, BECAUSE I CANT FAULT THEM FOR THER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THAT THEY ARE VALID.AND THINK ABOUT THIS WHY DID WE ALL GO LOOK AT GLOBAL ?BECAUSE WE WANTED A FREE TRIP FOR 1 WEEK .YOU HAVE JUST PURCHASED YOURSELF A LIFETIME OF AWSOME VACATIONS, TRUE IT DOES SOUND TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, THATS WHY I STARTED OUT WITH 1 STAR, AND NOW WE HAVE 2 MEMBERSHIP WITH A TOTAL OF 11 STARS.WE HAVE BEEN TO HAWAII 4 TIMES NOT COUNTING NEXT YRS 3 WEEKS, CANCUN, DISNEY, CRUISES WITH GLOBAL., COMPASS COVE IN MYRTLE WHITE OAK LODGE RESORT IN GATKLINBURG, SUNSET BAY IN OCEAN CITY, SEA TIME IN OCEAN CITY, SANDS RESORT IN MYRTLE, STAYED ON THE STRIP IN VEGAS, I COULD GO ON AND ON.PLEASE FEEL FREE TO EMAIL ME ID LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU
$200 charge in our account for not following the policy
We actually joines 3 years ago and have booked 1 vacation a year, we recently stayed at Beso Del Sol where ROBIN HASSLER booked us knowing I had an 18month old staying with me. They then tried to throw us out into the streets the 2nd night of our family vacation all 7 of us, because of age restrictions. Finally they did not call us back so we stayed thinking all was well until we got home and there was a $200 charge in our account for not following the policy, they theyu ignored when ROBIN HASSLER booked us!
Hi,
My name is Jason Rzucidlo and I am the Owner & Web Designer of AmericaJR.com. I received lots of complaints about the Global Vacation Network so I decided to do some investigating. I encourage you read and comment on these articles before attending a GVN sales presentation:
http://americajr.com/news/globalvacationnetwork0314.html (You can also view all of the documents you will be required to sign in a PDF file)
http://americajr.com/news/globalvacationscandal.html
Many of the GVN offices will show you a phony BBB rating that is not their true rating. Always check BBB ratings at www.bbb.org.
Secondly, GVN is offering huge prizes like Lincoln Navigators that are impossible to win. They are only giving away 1 and your chances to win it are 1 in a million. So if they told you that you won one, you probably didn't.
Good luck in your travels.
Jason

I would like to get out of the membership
First of all I like to ask for Eric Stout direct phone number and 2nd how long in advance do you usually gave them? How about when you used your express line? What's the point of having an EXPRESS LINE when there's nothing available anyway. My bf and I just has a problem booking to O'ahu Hawaii for Nov.09. I believe this is an off peak reason but yet they...

We joined several months ago, and have not been able to book any vacation. We have documented several pages of back and forth communications and efforts to get our money back. Our story seems like many others. We are out the money and probably will never use this company for a vacation. Please do not waste your money with these people.

Received certificates as a reward for joining this travel club. All have been worthless so far.
1. "Free" cruise - All dates are "high season" so extra charge. Never have a "base" cabin, so an extra fee is required for an "upgraded" one.
2. "Free" Vacation for two - had to mail in a registration for this. I mailed it in 5 days before the deadline. They claimed it came in 2 days after the deadline. (I know the US mail isn't always perfect, but 7 DAYS! PLEASE.) Scammed out of that too.

We joined Global Discovery Vacations in June, 2014. We were the first ones in our group presentation to join, mostly because GDV VP of Marketing promised my spouse we could absolutely take a GDV vacation in Panama. We tried to do that in 2015 and were told there was no availability. We tried to do that in 2016 and were told there was no availability. We tried to do that in 2017 and were told that there was no availability, however if we wanted to upgrade our membership (we do have 6 stars) by paying an additional $5, 000 that we could probably get to vacation in Panama. HA!
As far as GDV vacations we've taken:
2015 - St. Kitts in 2nd rate accommodations although we enjoyed the vacation week.
2016 - Greater Exuma in the Bahamas with 3rd rate accommodations, but the staff at the "resort" hotel was great.
2017 - St. Lucia at the Bay Gardens Beach Resort was by far the best. The resort was very nice and the staff was wonderful. For a change the accommodations were very nice.
Current Status: We have not paid the annual membership fee and will only do so if GDV makes good on its promise of a vacation (2 weeks in Panama). We are fully prepared to write the $8, 998 we paid to join GDV off as a bad investment.

not very happy with joining this company
Join this company about 3-5 months ago and I'm not very happy, went on line to request a vacation was told no spot available for this time frame have to request at least a year in advance, next joke the customer service wasn't good held on the phone for 15 mins then was hung up on(guess they were tired). Now I'm going too try one more time for Atlantic City for July and see what will happen and to think I sold my timeshare for this. ONe thing the sell force is good at telling good stories.

my Husband and I have joined Global vacations, we have been members for 5 years now. We started with 6 stars and increased to 17 over the last 5 years. In the beginning It was nice, we were able to go whenever. When we increased to 17 we were told we are now VIP and can call in and have our own personal " concierge". and that we have first priority on a waiting list. They also paid for our maintenance for the next full year. Which is now up in August. We have tried to book several vacations since Dec.2020 we have not been able to find anything, places we used to go to are now gone. They are not even on the global site anymore. I called Global today to try and book a condo for July, the concierge never asked my name or member ID. Which I was told they would because I am now a VIP! She recommended to not even get on the waiting list. Then I called Global customer service, and spoke with Carl Menenhall, to voice my concerns, absolutely got nowhere with this man. He was extremely rude and condescending. He recommended I book 6 to 12 months out, which is what I have been trying to do. The latest search was 5 months out. Global Vacations is a scam. I have come to the conclusion; they have more customers than they do condos. I am so disappointed in myself for investing thousands of dollars in nothing but a scam! Janice and Lyle Hankins
Yelp, this company is definitely a scam company. So glad I didn't fall for their high pressured sale's tactics. Be ware people. Read the reviews first.
My husband and I, recently retired, joined global connections on January 16th in Dublin, Ohio, being promised some awesome and extremely cheap vacations...since the call confirming our information, it has been impossible for either of us to reach anyone by phone or make any connection to any website...talk about a scam! We were promised we would receive a contract by email and have received none! Yes, money was taken out of our account and for absolutely nothing! What in the world can we do...we need help! Please let me know if anyone has any ideas! I will not let this company get away with this gross misrepresentation of services...

not a very easy way to find what you are looking for
I have been a member for almost a year and have a very difficult time finding member #'s and finding out how to book any vacations or look to see where they are. This is not a very easy way to find what you are looking for. For the cost it should be real easy to just sign online and look for deals you want. Has anyone any ideas or suggestions to find things easier. So far am not too happy and still paying...
