personal trainer
Personal training was canceled, and the following month they pulled out almost 300.00 again and said they were sorry and that this was a mistake and that it would be refunded back within 2 week. its now been almost 3 months and several phone calls including another face to face conversation with the manager Tony and now they are saying they are not going to refund the money. The bank account had to be close due to the thieves at Golds Gym in Montclair, CA and know one is taking responsibility for stealing the money. Its hard to believe a large company like Golds would need to steal money to stay open, but now i understand why they are still open, that's because they steal the money and then say it was a mistake and then don't return it like they said they would. I expect a phone call back to rectify this mess that Tony at the Montclair, CA store created.
false advertising/child care issues
Golds Gym of Clarlsville Tennessee falsely advertised that their new gym opening would have unlimited UV tanning, spray tanning, sauna and an indoor track. Almost two years later they decided NOT to have those amenities. I am a VIP member and got my membership for those amenities and for child care. Golds Gym was recently denied the daycare license and can only have 14 children in the child care room thus resulting in wait times that exceed over an hour long. The owner refuses to allow members out of their contract due to these issues unless we pay 30 days upfront AND the $99 cancellation fee. I know that these are franchises and unfortunately this location does not operate by the same standards as other locations. It's very unfortunate because this is a military town and the owner is taking advantage of the military and the rest of our community.
branch opening
Dear Golds gym team
We have registered to golds gym in November2016 (Amman Jordan), me and my husband, and We have been told that the gym will be open in February 2017 ! Now it's May ! And still isn't open yet .. and I am sorry to tell you that we're so upset of this as we have been told that (the gym will open in a couple of weeks ) several times since February and we have been told that we're gonna be satisfied and the gym will make it up for us ! Nothing of this happened! Don't you think that we need to be really satisfied for what happened! We're waiting u since February!
They told us that u will use the gym for free in soft opening.. we said ok but when we went to the gym we found the soft opening is only for 4 hours a day 4-8 pm and without showers and toilets! Dose that make any sense for u ! And now even this soft opening canceled because of technical problems!
We Trusted you and waited you for so long! Specially that its the first golds gym in jordan .. we have registered when there was no building yet cuz we thought that we are registering in the best gym ever ! Now we're seriously thinking of going back to our old gym !
Sorry but we are so upset!

managers rood and derogatory treatment lockhill selma
My daughter and I were given two passes to try the Golds gym fitness class. The manager Desaree did not allow my daughter to enter the gym as she had been a former student member of Golds. My daughter wanted to try the class and join the gym again but was not allowed. It is a shame we were treated this was as the instructors work hard to try and get new members and she does not support it. Two interested candidates were lost because of her.
She should not be the manager. She is rood and condescending and instead of resolving the issue, she exasperates it.
My husband and I have been members for more than 20 years and did not deserve this womans treatment.
gold's gym. willow lawn
I am still being billed for a membership to GOLDS GYM that was cancelled in March. Every time that I have contacted the branch to try to resolve the issue, the ONE person that I am supposed to contact isnt available and will not return any message. I belonged to the Willow lawn branch i Richmond VA. I have called SEVERAL times and to no avail. Ive also tried to contact corporate and that is troublesome as well...can i just NOT belong to this gym and have my money back?
enhancement fee and customer service
I was surprised to see my bill more than double in the month of April. When I called to find out what was going on I was told that it was an "enhancement" fee. I asked what that was and the person instantly turned condescending and repeatedly told me to read my contract. I then asked her to cancel my account and she said I have to physically come to the building to cancel. They can electronically take money from my account but I have to physically visit the building to cancel my account. They can add fees with friendly names and bury them in the contract but they won't be forthcoming with that information and will treat you with hostility if you question these fees. I am cancelling my membership due to unethical practices and terrible customer service. I will also tell everyone I know about the dangers of doing business with Gold's Gym.

Not a complaint: But since there is no contact information for Gold's.
Gold's
I want to give a shout out to your rep at the Downtown Gold's on the morning of Feb 11, 2017. Some dude throw up in the gym and she cleaned it up with just towels, (Ugh) Just watching her made me queasy all day. I didn't catch her name but she's there most weekends. (Short Blonde Hair) It takes a certain person to brighten your day before a dreaded work out. Give her a raise, she earned her money today.

membership freeze
To whom it may concern,
In reference to freezing my membership, applied to change my period of member. Nonetheless, had fracture neck surgery and Mum got Cancer all happened together this year. However, the membership wasn't frozen accordingly. In addition, tried to explain the situation with no response, please advice and support as I can't afford this to happen.
Appreciate your support and understanding
most unhygienic and unprofessional gym
Stinks:
The gym in Bur Dubai absolutely stinks, to begin with.
No hot water in showers:
Their showers are incapable of releasing hot water. I have seen customers coming out without taking a shower as they realised there is no hot water. Who wants to take a cold shower in winter and fall sick?
Horrible washrooms:
Out of 3 (the figure is really low), 1 or 2 washrooms always tend to remain out of order. The jet spray does not work in any of the washrooms. Moreover, you will always find some kind of leakage in the jet sprays which explains why it never works.
No water glasses:
They stopped giving disposable water glass on the pretext of going Green. This is nothing more than a cost-saving gimmick. Should you forget to carry your bottle, then you either buy one for yourself or remain thirsty through the workout.
Trainers: The trainers are only interested in find customers who would subscribe to personal training. They will not guide you otherwise.
Ridiculous ! Just do yourself a favour - Pay more and go to Fitness First or other decent gyms, but not this one!
unethical behaviour
I received a call from Byron in November 2016 about a free personal training section. I went to see him November 21, he suggested I need a trainer. I told him that I do work a lot and don't think I can come in regularly, he stated that was fine because I can drop it at any time. He did not go over any of the paper work just for me to sign( my big mistake, should have know it was something wrong about it because he was rushed with the process). He said a meal plan came with it but I did not received one to this day. Well I meet with my personal trainer, Omar, He is very nice. He told me the number of training sessions in the computer showed I did more than what we did together and that he can not correct it his manager, Keith, will have to do it. Well on 1/16/17 Omar and I went to Keith office and Omar told Keith the number of sessions was wrong. Keith stated " I do not have time to correct it now, so I will call you" and walk out office. I did not received a call. I called Keith about this same problem on 1/11/17, he said he will look into it, also told him I did not get a meal plan and he said he will work on it also. Did not get a call or meal plan again. Called Keith again on 1/17/17 to let him know I have not heard from him he told me to text him my name so he can look into it, so I text my name to him. Still not results, so on 1/25/17 I text Keith again, no reply no call back. I am paying monthly for this service and this type service is very unpleasant.
employee purposely destroyed equipment
I use golds on along with other city employees even though many other gyms are cheaper and include special privileges like bring a friend, free, and tanning because golds has amenities. Pool, basketball and Raquetball are the best of them. When my friends and I found out about the Raquetball court we decided to begin playing for excersise. And it was excellent that just like the YMCA and every other racquetball court in the city if you didn't have your own racquet golds on NW expressway and Portland in OKC, Ok., provided one for you. Arriving to my Golds one day I found all (4) four racquets had been destroyed. The blond haired heavy set white male with glasses lied and said that golds never provided racquets and doesn't have to. He went on to say Raquetball is not the gyms ammenity and the gym would soon tear down the court before having to provide racquets for its members. So I called and spoke with the gym manager and nothing was accomplished. I want to feel like my gym cares about me. I want to see the money I'm dedicating to my gym every month well spent on the wonderfully things that make my life simple and enjoyable and quite simply put if my gym doesn't think I'm important enough to listen to I will be forced to find a place along with my friends that cares about its members.

Golds Gym, 7431 Merton Minter, San Antonio, TX 78229
why was I allowed to go to the gym before I went to the gym three times and no one said anything to me now I get this slap in the face slap me me kick me your not welcome here for what whaaaat why why its some bul #### its all a shame why do me that way slap me in my face slap me to the ground I live in the area I don't have a car the gym is right there why do me that way
I walked in and was told I cant enter the gym because I have silver sneakers
this really feels like discrimination because I was allowed to enter the gym three times in 2016 I don't even get out to exercise and I wanted to change for 2017. now the two men stopped me and said I'm going to have to stop you today sorry.
Trey Halloway and DJ Garcia want to offer me a one time pass and lie and say I have not been in their gym let me tell you how discouraging I feel now,
I feel so bad im already having problems and i get enough go in me to go to golds gym and be shut down discrimated because i have silver sneakers the gym wants use to pay more for what,
some towel every dic's and pus's and everybody ### has been on them towels, some cheap ### lotion and Q tips its the same gym as any other Golds Gym but they want to segregate the people only the rich can go to this gym and only the poor can go here
instead of allowing people to go to the gym that closest to them I live in the medical center and I cant go to the gym closest to me and I encourage every one not to go to Golds Gym anymore so that they see what a shame it is to treat people like this lets all band together and stop paying the memberships you can make another gym great and we can see what they can do when lots of people go to their gym instead
manager at frederick md. westview location
On 12-15-16 at 6:30 pm I was participating in a half court game of basketball with 13 other men. We were using half court due to the left side of the court being reserved. Then a golds gym employee walked onto the court in the middle of a game with no warning and disrupted the game to stop us from playing so that he could train ONE person. I attempted to plead with the employee that its only one person he is training and 14 of us. Why can't he train him in the gym, which had very few people in it at the time. He refused. I immediately went to the manager and plead the same case. He informed me that he would back the employee 110%. I asked him from Manager to Manager to make an executive decision, you have 14 upset customers due to one customer being trained, just make an adjustment due to this specific situation. He refused. I informed him that some of the other basketball players and my self are probably going to pull our membership for this. He shrugged his shoulders and said oh well. I was then told by other basketball players that this is a very common problem with the manager and that he told them basketball isn't a real sport anyways that he hates it and that he is trying to get the court pulled out to lay down turf. Several of us are very frustrated and upset about this manager.

bad submitted services
I'm hazem abdel sattar from cairo, egypt, joined to maadi branch since 2010 year membership#12869.
Actually I had many complains that resulted to leave maadi beach due to following reasons:
1. Bad housekeeping especially at men's area (Lockers).
2. Very low cleaning level inside shower cabins.
3. Lockers floor is mostly wet and oily, as I had slipt due to that reason and thanks god my back is recovered and no sever injury.
4. Bad cleaning level of swimming pool.
5. Bad maintainance management (Smith machine kept out of order for more than 12 months without repair) 6. Renewed my member ship of 2015 with higher rate than individuals however i'm joined through corporate rate.
7. Very bad behavior form gym management. As i'm old member and using personal trainer assistance in continuous since joined to gym as they withdraw my trainer to join to sales team without notify me, when asked to refund value of rest sessions (21/28 sessions) they refused..
8. Very bad behavior from sales team as I reneed my member of 2016 at 1/11/2016 and freezes till 1/12/2016 without attending g one day as I refused the level of dealing with me.
So I decided to leave the gym asked them to refund me membership fees due to above reasons without success.
Tried to relinquish my membership to my fried (Member already at gym with same way of discrimination.
9. Sales team doesn't realize the value of golds gym as they are incompetent persons to speak in the name of golds gym lastly I left the gym without getting back 21/28 sessions and full annual membership fees.
Please invisigate as I need my money bake as i'll inform my company management because such behavior shouldn't happen from international brand.
Im going to escalate to golds gym headquarter asking them investigation.
I sat with maadi branch manager but he solve nothing.

poor member satisfaction with service
My brother has a membership with Gold's amounting to £40 a month. Upon discovering that machines were consistently out of order at Dagenham (5 of the 10 treadmills tonight amongst others), my brother sought a membership elsewhere and ended up at David Lloyd's (well worth it).
Without a doctor's note stating why he could not use the Gold's membership anymore citing injury, he could not cancel his 6 month membership with Gold's without a substantial fee. Our other alternative was to transfer the membership over to me, so that at least one of us was getting something out of the gym membership. We went this evening to seek this as a viable solution, and were told in very broken English by the desk staff that this would not be possible without a fee of £50 for the transfer; more than the monthly membership fee!
As if that weren't enough, we intended to go this evening and for me to use one of his two free passes before we decided if I was to attend in his place (before we knew the transfer was to be extortionate), and were informed that the "policy had changed" and free visitor passes were no longer a part of the contract. So we had to pay £15 for me to use the gym on this occasion - the cheek of it. We went upstairs to a hot, small gym, with no wifi, and upwards of 12 machines labelled "out of order". They call themselves a gym; it was absolutely disgraceful and I find the lack of loyalty to paying customers a farce and embarrassment to this franchise. I sincerely hope other customers see the light and know that there are far better gyms out there.
late fee
I have been with Gold's Gym for the past couple of months now and have a deal for about $45 and realized nth. I was looking at my bank statements and realized that I have been charged $43 biweekly for the past month; that's twice as much as I should be paying! I then called and was told that a $19 late fee was charged to my account because the money was not in my chequing account when it was supposed to be charged. This was because I transferred the money in the afternoon of the day I was supposed to be charged. As a broke student, that is in no way ethical! ABC financial and Gold's Gym, this is not acceptable. I wish I wasn't tied to a contract for the next year and a half because I am seriously wanting to cut all ties with these two companies! Please, if anybody reads this, refund my lost $40, I can eat for a week on that.
membership cancellation
I moved from one place to another and gold gym was to far, so I have decided to cancel membership, so first of all I canceled direct debit after couple day's they called me and told that they didn't received money from me I said yes because I won't go anymore, they said fine no problem just cut gold's gym car in a have and throw it away, I done that.
And now after 5 month's I got letters from CRS (Credit Resolution Services)
that I have to pay 403 pounds, I went straight to gold gym ask why, they told me that I wasn't canceled membership and the money was rising since then,
I told them that someone called me and didn't told me that I have to come and fill some kind of application they said "unfortunately we can't help you with anything" and that's what they said whatever I was telling them.
So they told me to call CRS and explain that to them, so I did that.
And they told me or you pay today 168 "they reduced the price" or tomorrow you will pay 403 pounds.
but at gold's gym told me that I owe 45 pounds, but monthly I needed to pay 35.
P.S. And the Trainer are the worst, I asked them to make a program special for me because it was included in price 1 hour a week with trainer. And they didn't even bother to do something took a PICTURE of some useless program and gave it to me.
At the gold gym they are bunch of thieves, liars and nothing more.
DON'T USE THIS GYM!

Hello,
We're writing to let you know that we've removed your review of Gold's Gym Simi Valley. We hope you'll understand that our focus is on reviews of consumer experiences that highlight a business's core offering and that Yelp is not the appropriate forum for the allegations described in your review.
Removed Content:
so i told the csr to cancel (for a 3rd time) after telling him of several incident reports of assault and felt that i would probably get arrested when i knocked a mofo's teeth down his throat. that i'm constantly in a predatory and incubite-enabled environment where using the jacuzzi, the one thing that i do use and 1 reason why i WENT to golds gym is impossible as the rapist/predatory/pedophile environment is constantly enabled and no wonder NOT 1 FEMALE EMPLOYEE USES THE JACUZZI, NO WONDER. so then i got a "well you only get charged 3 more months of fees plus $100 fee to cancel the contract." #1 they were so eager to charge that 29 days, not 30 did they do the billing date but they also enabled a rapey, predatory, and yes very much so when and if underage girls were around were very much predated. typically it was a needy sausage fest with constant forced staring, talking @ you and treating you like chattel. even after several assault incident reports rico failed to do crap about it and then the stinky girl never took a shower and always wore her shoes in the sauna. probably pissed off and from the abuse whereshe used to get from the jacuzzi. golds gym enabled a very women hating predatory pesty and entitled sick enviornment and the dudes wouldn't shower or give you attitude if you asked them to, so gross. butt especially the environment and how it wasn't suitable for anyone young or female as the women hating culture is very known and very enabled. then they want to charge me more money when they're the ones that violated the contract. what gold's gym did was absolutely and still is libel!

You sound unhinged. I'm guessing they removed your review since it did not meet their T&C by using phrases such as "knocked a mofo's teeth down his throat" and "rapist/predatory/pedophile environment." Also please note that Yelp removed the review, not Gold's Gym.
fraudulent member services - breach of contract, ripoff, lies, intimidation
Golds Gym breached the contract with me on several occasions (kept charging my credit card for services they failed to provide, such as personal training). When I called the corporate office to confront them about their fraudulent policies and cancel my membership to preclude them from ripping me off any further while breaking their side of the contract, a rep named Claudia tried to intimidate me by threatening to hang up on me and claiming that if I signed the contract, it's not their problem that the services are not being provided at the local gym and that they're not going to refund me for anything. Moreover, they'd keep on charging me for another three weeks from my initial request for cancellation. When I asked to speak to her supervisor, she said that the supervisor will be sure to tell me the same thing (typical corporate mafia - they're absolutely certain to be immune to legal consequences of breaching the contracts and ripping people off against their consent).
The fitness instructor who kept failing to meet with me for our scheduled appointments ended up abruptly quitting the job at the Golds Gym because he "wasn't happy there" and because he was "discriminated against". Absorbed in his drama and tantrums, he didn't even bother to make sure that his former customers are properly "transferred" to another qualified fitness instructor. Neither did his manager(s). In the meanwhile, their corporate office keeps on charging me $130 dollars a month for these nonexistent services. No doubt the rest of his customers found themselves in the same situation and ended up being humiliated and intimidated if they dared to speak up about this fraud. Last but not least, some of the equipment in their gyms is so crammed that you can't safely get around it - they're trying to maximize on the space at the expense of clients' safety and most likely, against all pertinent OSHA, etc., regulations. Please be aware of what awaits you should you become a Golds Gym member. There are plenty of other fitness options - please boycott Golds Gym if you don't want to end up dealing with crooks. If enough people boycott them (and hopefully sue them should there be compelling reasons to do so), then, hopefully, they will not be in business for too long.
