I think it's absolutely ignorant and childish that the golds in Murfreesboro and Smyrna don't allow us to wear just a sports bra and leggings. I think it's unfair your sponsored athletes can but not the people that pay to workout there? They aren't the only ones that hate sweaty shirts clung do them.. I understand you guys don't want people to walk around naked but if your athletes that workout and showngolds gym off working out in spandex and sports bras can why can't others too? I don't go in there to [censored] and be seen by people, I go in to get done what I need to do and leave I'm there for almost 4 hours sometimes, we're all adults so why is it such an issue to wear a sports bra yet if I wear a tied up crop top that is the same size as my sports bra but covering my shoulders it's okay ? I understand you guys wouldn't care to loose one memeber, but I've been with you guys for years, and this rule and not being able to wear a shirt that says "[censored] failure" is absolutely childish as well has made me want to look at other gyms that don't sexual use shoulders like we're in high school again. I'm not fat, I'm in shape and I bust my butt for my body, so why is it such an issue to just wear what I want? My instagram is haan_ and my Email is [protected]@yahoo.com
horrible customer service
I am an active duty United States Marine, and a single mother of two, who had to evacuate from Jacksonville, North Carolina due Hurricane Florence. I contacted the Gold's Gym located at 19757 Frederick Rd, Germantown, MD 20876 on 17 September at 12:23 in regards to their free pass offer. The gentlemen that answered informed me that the free pass offer is only for local residents who are interested in starting a membership. I had expressed my current situation and asked if there was any exceptions, and I was told that the best he could do for me was to let me get a one day pass, and after that I would have to pay each time I came. He was completely unsympathetic and did not care, nor even said anything, about the fact that I had to evacuate due to the horrific storm.
I am utterly shocked and aggravated at the customer service that I experienced. I go to the gym 5 days a week and I have to maintain a high standard of physical fitness as an United States Marine. The fact that the gym was unwilling to grant me anything other than a day pass, and told me that I would have to pay to workout - when everyone in my area has completely lost everything (and I do not even know the extent of the damage my personal property has experienced due to evacuating) - is extremely heartless in my opinion. The interaction I had this early afternoon immediately made me not want to ever step foot in any Gold's gym, ever again.
golds gym egypt elite (kattameya heights)
To whom it may concern
I write to you after after 9 months of frustration and bad experience at your franchise/branch in Egypt: Golds Gym Egypt Elite - Kattameya Heights
This branch is in fact labeled "elite" promising and communicating an even more elite service than Golds Gym regular standard; however that is completely not the case.
Over the past period of 9 months, I can count the days of which towels were available, no machines were on "maintenence" or the showers didn't smell.
I suffer from hyperhidrosis, which makes it very uncomfortable, unhygienic and definitely not an elite situation, to wipe out my sweat every day in my own clothes. I've submitted several complaints and requests, to the operations manager, who seems to be changed every couple of months; with no avail.
It took the place 3 months to realize and fix a huge piece of shattered glass above head level, which was very unsafe for clients over the period.
I'm fed up with the unprofessional, unhygienic, reckless and frustrating experience and attitude; which seems will never change. This doesn't stand even close to the standards of Golds Gym, and definitely not an "elite" or even normal service. This place is one of the most expensive gyms in egypt and can't even offer towels on a daily basis.
I kindly request immediate refund to my remaining subscription and this is a kind note for your action, as I'm sure this is not what the brand stands for.
Thank you for your consideration and support

cancellation
When I joined as a member, I was worried about the cancellation because I already knew I would move to other state. However, a staff who was working on my contract said that there would any problem to cancel the membership any time. That was why I joined as a Gold Gym member. I have been tried to cancel membership very many times but they make so many excuses. I have tried to cancel the membership for 3 months, but they still do not cancel my membership. I am too exhausted about this cancellation process. I am wasting so much time. I never go back to gold gym or recommend this gym to other people. I think that gold gym has a problem with cancelling process. Also, the staff who was working on my contract did not explain in detail.
that there would be no problem to cancel the membership any time.
not opening on time
I am a professor at a major university in College Station, Texas. I use the Golds gym at Tower Point.
For me to be efficient with my day, I work out early in the morning.
Your staff has repeatedly opened late. I have been understanding with staff being 5, 10, or even 30 minutes late. But today's experience is unacceptable- I waited outside the gym until 6 am and still no one showed up.
I had to leave so I could get read for work - so no gym for me today.

Hello,
I cancelled my membership with Golds GYM Amman end of September 2022 due to personal issues . So the gym now has to pay back any remaining amounts I already paid in advance.
I’ve been asking for account settling since 2 weeks now to no avail!
I need an immediate solution please to resolve this matter.
Awaiting your feedback.
membership
I joined Golds gym on or about May of 2014. I signed a one year contract with you taking out of my checking the monthly fee. When my original contract was about to expire, I contacted the management at the Fullerton gym on Malvern and informed them that I didn't want to extend the membership. I was told that for some reason I could not cancel my membership in person, they gave me a number to call to cancel. I called that phone number and spoke with someone and told him that I wanted to cancel my membership. As far as I understand and from what I was told, I did my part. But the problem is that you continued to take money from my account. I went back to the gym and was told that there was nothing they could do (?) So I had to go to the bank, payed a fee to stop you from stealing any more of my money. So what do you do? You continue to add up these fees and now you say that I owe you $550. Is this the way you do business? I tired to contact your collections agency and was treated like a criminal. I'm not going to pay for this, and if needed will go to small claims court. I checked out your business on the Better Business bureau and I must say that you have a very low score and a lot of people are making the same complaints. My account number was [protected], check out how many times I have visited the gym in the last 4 years ZERO. How can you treat people this way?
Maybe a class action suite against your company with work, I'm going to check into that. Any other victims want to join me?
Child Care
I went to your Bowie location which is 10mins from my house for the first and last time on Thursday August 21 around 630. The daycare there is not safe. They do not take ID or give out wristbands. How can they remember what kid goes to who? Anyone can walk up and claim they have a child there. My whole workout I stressed worrien about my children. I attend the one in Glen Burnie which is 30-35 Mins away from my house and feel much safer knowing my children are in good hands there.
membership transfer
They gave us the provision to transfer the membership in any other centers of them in india, despite of having valid reasons and yearly package they are not transferring the same and instead of processing they are ignoring our mails and calls.
They misbehaved on phone and disconnected it in mid of the conversation
Such a cheap and unacceptable behavior of that guy (HIMANSHU from GOLDS GYM THAKUR VILLAGE KANDIVALI EAST MUMBAI). It happened in last week of July.
Remember body is built by discipline, consistency, determination and proper instruction, but not by a overrated gym like GOLD'S GYM. There are hell lot of other gyms who are far better than the gym like this
horrible customer service
I went into gold gym on Evans road in San Antonio, Texas June 28 to submit my doctors to cancel my membership due to medical issues. I gave my doctor note and filled out cancellation form and gave it the the front desk associate. He informed me I would not be charged an extra month and my membership would be cancelled right away due to my doctor note. A week later I called to let them know I had not received my refund., they stated they would work on it. Another week went by and I spoke with someone else and they stated I was charged for the month of July because my cancellation has to be done 30 days in advanced, I informed her I had a doctors note but she however did not have it on file and I would need to resend it to her.
After resending this form to Linda Resendez on August 8th I still have not received my refund for the month of July which shouldn't have been taken from my account. I would like a refund today because this is unacceptable and I will not wait any longer.

customer service
I am located in Augusta, Ga and I was told that because i paid basic and not the $29.99 that I can not come to a certain gym. I check my agreement and it has nothing about i can only go to two gyms. One of the gyms is closed for remodeling but the simple fact that i couldn't join this particular gym because " I paid the basic" is unacceptable . I mean I have already join some classes that works with my schedule and for the past month . If this is true maybe you should have that in the contract that you can't go to a certain area even though it's closer to where you stay
I just trying to figure out why would this employee would continue to tell me because i “pay basic” I can’t attend this particular gym even though it’s the same at the other ones
spinning classes
On: 08/20/2018 at approximately 9:31 am I went to the Gold's Gym in 181 Freeman Ave Islip, NY 11717. I enrolled myself and my teenage daughter for the spinning class online one hour before the class starts. There are only 35 bicycles available, but if someone gets there before they take the bicycle. even when they did not enroll in advance. When I got to the spinning room, the class didn't even start yet. and there was only one bicycle was available. I had signed up my teenage daughter just 2 days before. She tried the spinning class and she liked it. This morning I enrolled and myself for the spinning class. When we got to the sinning room, someone else who did not enroll had taken the bicycle, my daughter got upset and left. The are many other members who are either upset or leaving the gym because of the instructor's preference for their friends who are allowed to take the Bicycle if the person who enrolled is not there at the exact minute. I have seen members been embarrassed and asked to leave because they didn't enroll online. it is upsetting seeing how others are entitled to take the class without signing and the person who signed and because is there 30 seconds or a minute late can't use the bicycle that she signed for. The enrolment online does not allow anyone to earlier than one hour before the class started, but somehow other can enroll earlier. There are instructors who are more popular than other an that is why this is happening. If instructors can make their own rules, why people have to enroll online? I find it unfear and embarrassing.
membership transfer from whitefield branch to kalyan nagar, bangalore
I have taken a year membership at whitefield branch, Bangalore in the month of February 2018, and requested to transfer the same to Kalyan Nagar Bangalore in the month of April.
It had been four months now still the transfer not happened. I approached them by email and also by mobile still no response, they are strictly dinaing to share manager number too.
3 day free pass
Saturday August 18, 2028 I applied online for a gold's gym 3day free pass. An email was sent to me confirming my 3day pass at the Gold's Gym location in Florissant, MO 8182 N. Lindbergh 63031. Also an gold's gym representative Richard Conner sent me an email and called me to confirm that I was indeed interested in visiting that location & told me to sign it at the kiosk & present an I.D..When I went there, it appeared under staffed. Only 1 person was at the front desk juggling multiple customers. I proceeded to the kiosk as instructed. Once finish the person behind the desk didn't greet me when I walked in or when she began speaking to me. Just asked how can she assist me while still helping several customers with their account. I told her I had a free pass. She asked for my I.D, I handed it to her. She told me to hold while she continued to help the previous customer with an issue with their account. Wait was 5-7minutes. When she returned to me She said membership is $16.33. Assuming she was referring to after my free 3days if I wanted to join Gold's Gym the membership would be $16.33. I handed her $20. She gave me change & a receipt. When I looked at the receipt it had Level 1 day pass on it. I then asked I thought I had 3day free pass & that the $16.33 was for the membership after those days was over. I quote she said " I thought you said you paying for a 1day pass. And we don't honor the 3day free pass anymore" I proceeded to call Richard Conner the Gold's Gym representative who I had confirmed the free 3day pass with before driving there. And told him what happened. He called that location. And she fabricated that I told her I wanted to pay for a 1day pass. She would not refund me back my money. If I had a 3day free pass then why would I ask to pay for a 1day pass? That don't make any sense? If she misheard me cause she was juggling too many people at one time & charged me for something I didn't ask for then her mistake needs to be corrected. I asked her was there someone else I could talk to. Her demeanor changed she told me managers won't be in to Monday. I asked for corporate # & she gave me #[protected]. I left the premise & stood outside to call corporate. When I called it, it went directly to voicemail. So I goggled corporate number #[protected]. Either she purposely gave me the wrong number which is what I believe. Instead of going back inside & causing a scene & being all dramatic I left. I was looking for a new gym home but after receiving poor customer service & being wrongfully charged by an employee who made a mistake think I'll have to reconsider
membership cancellation
I submitted a cancellation form, in March of this year, in person at Gold's Gym of Tyson's Corner in Virginia (formerly Fitness First) when they announced they were closing the location. I didn't keep my copy of the form, but when I noticed I was still being charged in April, I called the next nearest location (Merrifield, VA) to make sure they were going to process my cancellation. I was told that they could see my form and that they would process the cancellation by the next billing cycle. I told them I wanted a refund for any amounts charged after my formal cancellation notice. I was told that shouldn't be a problem. I trusted it was being handled.
This month I noticed I am still being charged. I called Merrifield back and this time I was told they don't have my cancellation form, but they can see I called back in April. I was told I needed to speak with Bryan Small, who is handling the Tyson's cancellations. I asked for his email because he wasn't available. I emailed him on August 13th and he never replied. I called again on August 15th and was told he was in a meeting and would return my call later in the day. He didn't and still hasn't.
Consider this message formal written notice that you must stop charging me for a membership, and you must return the money you have charged me since April. That is a full month after I submitted my formal written request to cancel; plenty of time for you to process the form and stop the billing.
Thank you,
Mark Lester
membership cancellation
I cancelled my membership for me and my husband, to find out that the employee only cancelled my membership and not my husbands. Golds continued to charge us, and once I noticed and notified the gym they refused to refund me my money for the extra charges. I also had a very hard time getting calls back from management and am still waiting on emails back to get this issue sorted out. The whole situation was handled super unprofessionally and I feel very ripped off. How can I be refused my reimbursement after I asked for my membership to be cancelled with my cancellation information?
john franco, gm, gold's, simi valley, ca
On July 7, 2018, at approximately 1830 hours, after having talked to a Gold's Gym employee about personal training, a man, hereafter known as John Franco, stepped between me and my attempt to exit the gym at the turn style, and without any provocation or solicitation, in an angry voice said, "YOU need to stop talking to my people." As any reasonably prudent person would think, I believed John Franco was blocking me from leaving the gym. Because I have no standing in the Company, and because I have no employee oversight, I smiled, and said, "That's not my problem, " and then I HAD to walk around John Franco to exit the gym.
Once on the other side of the turn style, John Franco, who was no less than 15 feet away, YELLED, "I'm revoking your membership...[..], " if I left before withstanding an interrogation. Needless to say, the threat was loud enough for me to hear and caused me to turn around; and certainly John Franco's angry voice was loud enough for anyone in the contiguous area to hear. In less than 30 seconds, a pretty sizable man had placed himself between me and an egress, and then threatened to "revoke my membership" if I did not comply with his order.
Because of this disproportionate response from John Franco, which was completely out of context, and because he was threatening me in front of a gym peopled with members, I turned and walked toward the side of the turn styles, where from a distance of approximately 10 feet, he continued his threaten to "revoke" my membership if I did not yield to his, for lack of a better word, "detention."
I told John Franco to stop "yelling, " and move toward the area where there was a gate that accesses the gym for physically challenged members. I unabashedly told John Franco that I was not having "this conversation" in front of God and everybody, while he yelled from a ridiculous distance.
As he approached me, I told him, he might want to get a witness.
He turned his head to his right, toward the area arranged with desks and administrative staff, and the Regional Manager, Charlene (I believe) came around the corner and stood face to face with me, while John Franco stood off to my right side. Much to my curiosity, we continued a stand up conversation that lasted about 10 minutes right next to the entrance and turn styles, which were only a couple of feet from the front desk, where members were steadily coming and going.
The General Manager was very attentive, said little and listened. John Franco, who apparently had been stewing about any conversations I had with his employees, advised the Regional Manager that I had been engaging his employees since "March."
John Franco attempted to tell the General Manager I was rude to him, which I abruptly intervened, and simply recounted the aforesaid fact package, which is not in dispute.
John Franco gave me a truncated lecture on the Gold's business model and that his employees did not have time to talk to me. Like I told John Franco earlier, I simply explained to the Regional Manager, that John Franco is the Officer-in-Charge of his Unit, and it is his office, his duty, and his responsibility to direct his staff on how he prefers they comport themselves by way of interpersonal communication based on the needs of the company.
I had to tell the Regional Manager, right in front of John Franco, that he was misstating facts and being disingenuous. I did not call John Franco a liar. I never used any pejorative words or phrases, that in anyway connoted any animus or disparaging remarks.
I was cool as a cucumber, and yet I was absolutely shocked that I was not free to go, lest there be some revocation of my membership; or lest I suffer some hardship if I did not stay remanded in the custody of the animated John Franco. I must say, this was a first for me in every walk of my life.
John Franco and I have never spoken a word to each other. He has not acknowledged me in any fashion, nor have I gone out of my way to talk with him. We share no perfunctory greetings, for no other reason than our paths simply do not cross.
Based on this history, or lack of it, I find John Franco's behavior serious misconduct. He did not introduce himself to me before he fired off an angry order; he placed his body between me and my access to the exit, and when I walked around him and out the turn style, he YELLED that he was going to REVOKE my membership. This behavior in most service oriented professions would boarder on conduct that would warrant an internal review, and perhaps a finding which could result in punitive discipline.
Perhaps Gold's Gym in Simi Valley has some forensic record by way a video recording that, at a minimum, captured the very short interaction between John Franco and me.
As to what he said to me, blocking my egress, and what I said to John Franco will likely remain a "he said/he said, " however, if Gold's Human Resources or this Complaints Board, looks into this matter, I am sure there is more than enough evidence to push the preponderance standard, that John Franco more likely did NOT act in the best interest of the Company; and there will be more than enough evidence to push any adjudicatory standard, that John Franco was discourteous, he neglected his duty as an officer of the company, and he, in fact tried to impose his physicality on me, and when I stepped around him, of all things, he yelled, so the members and employees alike could easily overhear, "I'm going to revoke your membership...[...]" if I did not stop to be detained and questioned by him.
I am going to continue my membership at Gold's Gym, where I have never been the subject on any inquiry or inappropriate behavior. Like most everyone else, I simply come in, put on my earphones, keep to myself and work out.
John Franco has cast a pall over the gym and my zeal to enjoy it.
Quite frankly, "it was the damndest thing I have seen or been a part of in my life."
Perhaps the pressure of the demands and high standards has strained John Franco to a point, where Gold's Human Resources might offer a nepenthe. Or perhaps an inquiry by this Board might modify his threatening demeanor.
Very Respectfully,
Jim Willis

About non members working out in the gym
Hey hi I used to workout in a franchise of Golds Gym in thane, Maharashtra, INDIA, during workout I raised an issue to the management about many members coming to the gym without paying, they are not asked to pay because they are politicians or police officers, are such people allowed free in the gym, if yes why do the enter from the back door where there are no CCTV cameras?the management instead of stopping that cancelled my membership and refund my money, is that how Golds Gym works or behaves with the client?
golds gym, blue bay walk macapagal
good day, there is no one to complain to here in the philippines no complaints desk nothing so i want to call the attention of golds gym international, because i believe that golds gym have a specific standards and is a great company thats why i enrolled at golds gym, an incident happend yesterday august 6, 2018 4:00-5:00PM (philippine time) myself and my cousin are enrolled at golds gym blue bay walk macapagal, we started working out like 3 minutes and all of sudden a coach at the said gym watched and stares at us then goes his way directly to the club manager and told him something, then as i watch him after a few minutes the manager goes at my direction and confronts me telling me that i am not allowed to train with my cousin for i am a licensed professional trainer, i feel so disrespected and offended because trully i am not what they say i am, i am a normal athletic guy who wants to train my cousin like i do because he doesnt know anything and he is so fat. ofcourse i need to tell him the basics of working out. i hope you could reach me for further details. if not i may go to court or even the media for this. this is not the stndards im looking for, i was disrespected by disrespectful staff.
the coach that reported me was louie carl viros. it was pure [censored] when you only see us for 3 minutes and accuse me of being a professional PT
