GoodLife Fitness employee jenna id 1606

I want to down grade my membership because I am paying more for the things I am not even using such as hot yoga and tanning. However, I was speaking with customer care over the phone and she told me they would charge me $50 bucks for the down grade. The reason was given for the charges was that it is GoodLife policy. I am not braking the contract or anything just want down grading at no commitment which fees I have already paid when I signed up. I asked to speak with the manager but she wouldn't transfer me to him/her nor she should ask the manager if they want to talk to me regarding this matter. She didn't give me any reason that why she would let me talk to the manager. It was worse customer experience I ever ran into.

GoodLife Fitness membership

I joined Good life in Jan 2017 and had a contract till Jan 2018. I wanted to cancel the membership. I called the location and it is very hard to believe that the employees over there had no authority to cancel membership. Every time I called I had to speak to a manager who was never available. I had told them repeatedly to ask the manager to call me as I will not be renewing the membership. I get a letter from the Bank that Goodlife is trying to withdraw money and hence I have a NSF fee. I called the customer service representative today named Samantha and wanted to speak to her manager(Jennifer). She said that she will not escalade and will not give me any contact for her manager. What kind of customer service is this? This kind of business is not acceptable. I had heard bad stories about Good life but did not believe that I would be in the same situation.

GoodLife Fitness membership

Hello,

This is Saood Patel. I had cancelled my membership free attending only 20 days. I had texted the message to your manager Martin. To day I am forced to pay the amount.

I decided to cancelled because of misconduct of an employee. I barely attended 20 days. Do you people at least look how many days the clients are attending the gym.

I am not going to pay as you are forcing me to pay for the things which I have not availed. It is a mistake from your end and also negligence.

Looking forward to hear from you.

GoodLife Fitness membership woes

Under no circumstances will I return Goodlife Fitness. Reactivating my account and charging me for three months without telling me is not how you run a business. I said cancel, they wanted a compromise for a hold. I said OK. A month later, they start charging me because they failed to say how long the hold was for.

Head office then refused to escalate this, claiming it's a he said / she said situation between me and the manager. So I guess these guys follow the Ferengi laws of acquisition. Good life refuses to even let me talk to anyone up the ladder. Way to run a business!

GoodLife Fitness new location major mackenzie and hwy 400

I joined Sept of 2017 and since then I've noticed that this location is never ready for any of the promotions you offer. Every contest Goodlife has put on there is some sort of give away after 6 workouts signed by a staff member. First it was a keychain, they didn5have any. Then it was a t shirt, they didn't have any. Currently it's a laundry bag and again they don't have any or they haven't recieved their shipment yet. I understand the contests are meant to motivate and offer incentive for us members to push for our goals and accomplish what we thought we couldn't. Well I've done my part (several times) and aside from my weight loss and transformation I have yet to see goodlife keep up their end. That being said although this is the reason I finally decided to send this email there are other things I'd like to bring to your attention. Upon joining each member is to receive a gym bag, a fitness assessment, a tour of the facility and a tag. From the day I joined it took me about three weeks to get a gym bag, and the only reason I got one is because I had to go to another location and convince that location that I hadn't received one. All because the location I'm speaking of had none. My tag took about a week. In terms of the assessment, and tour i memtioned it a few times to staff but was never offered either. There was also an incident where I was verbally accosted by another member on multiple occasions. It was brought up to the staff on the day it happened as well as in a sit down with the Assistant manager and through emails with the manager, only because both of our scheduled meetings were cancelled or pushed. Either way the entire situation was treated as a joke. I'm at a point right now where I don't think goodlife is the gym for me. Although I've had great success achieving most of my fitness goals it not because of the inspiring and motivational environment that is advertised. One last thing if you're gonna charge people a premium for "towel service" then maybe inform your staff that there is a difference. Don't get me wrong I believe anyone who walks through the door should be handed a towel but if my membership includes it and others don't why am I paying the difference?. I really hope this email sheds a light on the inconsistent experience many members are having.

GoodLife Fitness personal training cancellation

I had signed up in late November, early December for one year personal training with goodlife. I was making progress with my fitness and had plans to go on vacation end of February. Before my leave, the week before I had multiple training sessions with my PT. I had asked him during this time if I should put my account on hold and he said no because it would need at least one month to be put on hold, and that we can resume and complete the sessions that were due for the next week after I get back. I had agreed. Little did I know that he was planning on leaving with 7 other PTs and a fitness manager. I put my account on hold shortly after I got back as I was bombarded the day of my arrival into Canada by the new Fitness Manager about my PT's departure from Goodlife.
Goodlife has not rectified, the acting fitness manager does not answer phone calls, respond to emails... no one thinks that I am justified in feeling stripped away of my money that was PROMISED to me when I could have made an informed decision BEFORE i left AND before even knowing that my PT was going to leave.
I had a formal in person meeting with the acting fitness manager sarah at the heartland location and asked to talked about emailing regional manager. Sarah decided to pull the wool over my eyes and not give me the regional managers email..
Goodlife does not care about their clients. They're all just about making money and that's it. I'm glad I signed up for no commitment membership, because I will be going elsewhere.

GoodLife Fitness membership cancellation terms

On December 11th, 2017 I signed up under my Husband's membership at Goodlife Fitness McAllister, Saint John NB. This was my 3rd year joining during the winter months to run on a treadmill instead of the icy roads.

I was never told or charged any cancellation fee previously, so signed an electronic document which I thought was a signature needed to add me to my husbands's membership. In fact the Goodlife representative, welcomed me back saying, Your back for a few months and I actually joked about the road conditions. Never once was I told that I would face a 99.00 plus 15% tax the day I cancelled my membership.
Once again, I have done this 2 years prior and never ever had a charge.. I would have never joined if this was the case. My Husband has been a member there for years and thought it would be easy to join in with his membership.
I went in on March 13th, 2018 to cancel my membership and was absolutely blindsided . I was informed that I would have to pay a fee or pay a monthly fee to hold my membership until October but then regular payments would start up again and wouldn't be allowed to cancel until December 2018 after a full year of "contract"!
I was floored with this new to me information. I wrote an email to the manager who totally blew off my situation with absolutely no apology for the complete lack of information. Instead I was sent the "Contract "I signed, and on the very last page of the document was the 99.00 plus tax cancellation clause. He said it was standard industry practice and regardless of whatever transpired, I was obligated to pay. I contacted my Lawyer immediately and was advised not to pay. She then contacted the manager who referred her email to Goodlife's legal department. My lawyer was then contacted by a very condescending lawyer, basically saying I signed a legal contract binding me to these undisclosed terms.
My husband immediately put a stop payment on the automatic withdrawal and cancelled his membership as well. He had no problem cancelling until I refused to pay the 99.00 fee. Goodlife tried twice to take different amounts of of his account. The stop payment didn't work and it took several calls to the bank and to Goodlife McAllister demanding them to stop stealing money out of his account. Once a representative from his actual branch instead of a call centre was in charge of the situation, she immediately made sure funds were returned to his account. She said that Goodlife is well known for sneaky tactics, they try to take money uses slightly different names ie: Goodlife fitness or Goodlife Corp and that's how even stopped payments slip through. Clearly this Corporation has once again lived up to their poor reputation.
My husband has received letters stating He now owes them money. He was fortunate to not have provided them with an email address either. The letters stopped. Because Goodlife has my email, I have been threatened with legal action for $227.95 . I received 2 emails at 1:05 am Monday morning, one thanking me for being a member and that my membership was now cancelled and one threatening legal action.
I will never ever step foot in a Goodlife fitness centre again and I have warned people to never sign anything without having a representative go over contract terms with them face to face. Never sign the first electronic page you see where a signature is required. They email the full contract to you after the signature is obtained
Absolute thievery and greed!

GoodLife Fitness membership change to what I get after I have paid in full six months later

I went to hot yoga yesterday. I went through no problem, my wife was told she would have to pay next time because it is no longer included in her corporate membership as of June 1st. I will fight this ridiculous new policy. Big mistake. I don't even think it is legal but I will look into that too. I went back later after hot yoga to ask about my membership. I don't know why she said nothing to me on the way in but after I informed myself she told me the same thing that, as of June 1st my membership changed. We both renewed our memberships in January for the last 4 years. Hot Yoga was included, we both signed the waivers that you require to do Hot Yoga. You cant change what is included in my membership half way through the year, you can't even fulfill your commitment to the customer for the year membership and then send out a customer letter to inform the membership of this huge change. She said it would cost me $6 a session. I do 3 week so that is $18 a week or an extra $932 a year plus my corp. mem . fee$450. That's ridiculous. You want me to pay three times my membership to do what I used to do before at your gym. That is fair and right to your customers even if you were making a change not like this. I will be leaving Goodlife if not resolved. I will also be looking into if it is even legal to change my plan after I paid for it in advance. Absolutely no notification sent about changes coming to membership. Then I called later to vent my frustration and I found out I could pay $20 a month for hot yoga unlimited. That would be $240 a year plus 450 mem that is $700. My friend pays $570 with hot yoga included. I have my plan that included Hot Yoga for the rest of the year. That is the plan I paid for. You should honor it to renewa and then I can decide whether to stay of not because I only come for Hot Yoga.

GoodLife Fitness membership

I recently had a 2 week free membership and paid for the 6 session with a trainer. The trainer, Jason, was fabulous (Burlington Club) and he was extremely helpful. Unfortunately at the end of the 6 sessions I realized that I was not ready to do any work on my own (as I haven't worked out for a long time) and would need some minor guidance on the floor.
1) They do not have staff on the floor checking that members are working our properly on the machines.
2) They do not give you spread sheets to work from, e.g. what you did, weight, times, etc. I have never belonged to a gym that did not have files for each member to pick up their sheets prior to a workout.
3) Spoke to the head of Trainers and he said that noone has ever complained about a) lack of staff on the floor, work sheets, etc. Seriously with all the members they have had no complaints.
GoodLife is a money grab - 1) membership costs about $1400 a year without any trainers, etc.

Unfortunately at Goodlife their trainers are hired to be salespeople first and trainers second. It is not the trainers fault it is Goodlife.

GoodLife Fitness employee service and care for member belongings

I discontinued my membership with goodlife for I experienced complete poor customer service from a specific employee.
I also worked for goodlife and am aware of what is required and expected in regards to maintaining the best customer service experience.

I kept only tanning for goodlife.
I came in on a sunday to tan, club was dead quiet. The one employee was not busy and at the front desk.

I entered the tan room and it was a disaster. The mirror that would normally be on the wall was pulled down and on the bench along with a computer printer and cleaning supplies etc.

I had left my necklace on the bench by accident and realized next early morning and called in. They said they had it but when I went in, it was not my necklace. I was extremely upset.

Had the employee went into the room after me to do her job, to clean the room, as I also was a motivator and this is required as per the motivator job description, she would have seen my necklace and brought it to the front.

Which tells me one of two things - She either did not do her job and did not clean the room (as it wasn't done for me when I entered) and the next woman that went in took my necklace - OR the employee went in and took my necklace for herself.

I had words with the manager about this same day over the phone - as I wanted the employee spoken too as service is poor, she needs to be verbally notified of again her job description and what is expected as this should not have happened had she of done her job (again unless she stole it for herself which I also believe)

I am extremely displeased with the lack of attentiveness to customer care - as well, overall cleanliness and care of the club for members.

Very unhappy and will never enter this location again.

GoodLife Fitness gym membership services

I am member at the Sherwood Park Goodlife Fitness gym in Alberta, Canada. The facility is relatively new and staff are friendly.

The dry sauna has been out of order for about 60 days. As well the steam sauna was not working again today and it stinks. It is not being properly sanitized.

The reason the equipment is not being repaired depends on who you ask. It is a requirement of the contract I signed with Goodlife that all services must be available. They are in breach of contract.

I will write Alberta Consumer and Corporate Affairs and file formal complaint for breach of contract and send a copy to the Chief Financial Officer of the company by registered mail. She is in London, Ontario, Canada.

Most repairs to wet and dry saunas can be done within 24 to 48 hours, not 60 days. The gym must repair equipment promptly and comply with provincial health regulations regarding sanitation.

GoodLife Fitness good life gym - pool - eglinton east and markham road (3660 kingston rd.)

Hello, My name is Tariq Masood and I am a member here since last many years. The swimming pool was reopened last month after an extensive renovation. This management here has decided to stop using salt in pool and use cholrine only. I would like to bring this to your attentiion that this cholrine only is causing a severe itching (Rash) on body to many many members incluing me which was never the case before.

Please do something about this in an urgent scenario or many members will be forced to quit this gym as they only pay for the pool and hot tub only. I am one of them myself. This is serious health issue and many seniors like myself have seen their family docotrs about this already. My family doctor has advised me to quit the gym immediatly to save from any skin disease.

I love this gym and would like to stay. Please do something about it and stop using chlorine only and put salt back in water like it was before.

Thank You.

GoodLife Fitness goodlife

I joined GoodLife January 3rd. (Although I was very happy with club 16, previous to joining GoodLife, and they never caused me a problem!) When I began the joining process with one of the employees, ryan, he offered me the prestige membership which offers unlimited tanning; which was the only reason I got that one, otherwise I would've gone with the cheaper options. And being that I was 18, I wanted to make certain I was able to tan without parental supervision. Him agreeing that yes, I could. And because I had been with club 16 he said I was given a month for free. So after I signed up, I called shortly after to confirm that I could tan and that my 16 year old sister could as well with parental supervision. Again, he said yes. The next day I came to workout with my family and after finishing my workout, my sister and I go to use the tanning beds and the staff on duty informs us that we are not able to use them because we weren't old enough, even with parental supervision. And the same employee, Ryan, comes out of the GM's office a moment later to tell us he's sorry and it was an accident. So we leave and I'm obviously upset but I let it go. However, five days later they charge my account one with a 32.41$ payment and second with a 45$ non sufficient funds charge; but the bank reversed both the charges, so it was okay. Then 10 days later I get a charge of 25$ and another charge of 32.41$, and although both got reversed, I was charged with a 90$ non sufficient funds charge. By this point I was pissed because I had a month for free and wasn't supposed to get charged! So I called GoodLife and they tell me that no, I only actually had two weeks for free not a month and because of all this havoc they were going to give me another month for free and my 90$ back. However, they said that it'd take about 10 days to receive my money back. So after a few days, I got to the gym to workout and quickly ask about my money. The same employee confirmed with me saying it should be in within the next few days. So finally after waiting over 10 days... the money was not in! I called GoodLife and started to complain because they had already lied to me about so many things that I was tired of their bad customer service! While on the phone, the same employee, who sold me the membership with the tanning, told me I'd get a month for free and confirmed with me that I'd be getting my money back, tells me no, I got it all wrong and the gym can't give me my money back cause there was "a problem with the system" and that all I was getting was store credit. So by this point I'm pissed right off and I want to cancel my membership. He tells me I have to come in, in person, not over the phone. Later on, he calls and says I can just do it over the phone, which was probably the nicest thing they've offered so far considered they'd lied to me and stolen my money and not given it back. Do not go here. They are liars and steal your money. I understand that people make mistakes and miscommunications can occur...but not with the same employee lying to me over three times. I'm an 18 year old student, trying to pay my bills, and you think I got 100$ to lose? These people just want to steal your money and run! Don't go here.

GoodLife Fitness member threatening violence

Two months ago an incident occurred in which a member caused a scene against me due to the fact that I had set up on a deadlift area and moved his recording equipment and the staff said that we simply needed to give each other space

Two weeks later I found out he had been claiming that I threw a kettle bell at his head to the staff which and when I addressed these comments I was told nothing would be done

Today I waited 20 minutes for a squat rack and when I approached it the same individual who had just walked in started yelling because he had wanted to use it. I told him he could have it and that I didnt want another scene like in the past. He then proceeded to go to the staff and tell them he was going to punch me in the face at which point the staff told me that were he to get violent they would likely ban us both.

I am astounded that a member can utter threats of violence against a person 10 years younger and 100 pounds lighter and then proceed to be told that I would be punished for his actions if he were to go through with it.

I am now fearful to return because I dont know what will happen next

GoodLife Fitness extend friends & family discount offer

Not a complaint -- a request.

My friend, Tammy Rossignol ([protected]@hotmail.com) has kindly given me a F&F $249 deak for the past 3 years. Every year I renew just before my membership expires (mid-March). This past Xmas, she gave me the offer -- but the expiry was moved up to Jan. 19/18 (last year it was March 19/17). She asked rewards & recognition about extending -- but they said NO.

It is an unused recognition offer. Is it not possible to change the date? It would reflect the date of all the previous years.

I really hope you can help. Thx Sharon Besco [protected], [protected]@gmail.com

GoodLife Fitness personal training

signed up for a gym and decided to try out personal training. They gave me a consultation session then a complimentary one on one training session with the personal trainer. At the end of the complimentary session, the trainer and I had a discussion on continuing with the training. The trainer pulled out a binder with yearly options, I reviewed all of them and simply said I could not afford any of these options. I also explained in detail to the trainer my financial situation, he said he understood so as a compromise he offered me a 2 week trial with him for $56. I paid for that and signed off on a digital pen pad (did not actually read the contract)

A week after I thought it over and went bank to the gym to cancel the personal training trial. Again, the trainer persuaded me that its only 2 weeks and that I should just finish that then I can back out of it. I was already apprehensive about the $56 charge because of my financial situation. However, he continued to pressure me into continuing. I agreed to finish the two weeks and did not cancel the personal training — under the guise that it was only a $56 charge for 2 weeks. The trainer briefly mentioned in that conversation that I still have 10 days to decide if I'd like to keep going or not. I only went for 1 session due to coming down with a sickness the following week. I informed the trainer I would not be coming in on that Tuesday January 23rd through call.in that call he did not inform me that it is imperative that I come in to cancel my training as it was the last day or so.

Yesterday, February 16th $300 was taken directly out of my checking account! I speak to the trainer and he tells me that this is what I signed up for, the 12 month training session that is $300 bi weekly! I believe this is an act of negligent misrepresentation. The trainer assured me that I can just pay the $56 trial for 2 weeks due to my financial situation and also back out at any time. I DID NOT agree to any of the plans he reviewed to me. I signed this contract under false pretences. I have the right to know exactly what I am signing up for and that information was purposely omitted from the explanation of the "promotion" to induce me into the signing the contract.

The trainer did not make it clear to me that this would directly lead into the 12 month personal training, he only spoke about two weeks just to try.

GoodLife Fitness people being violent and obnoxious in the sauna

To whom it may concern,

On February 3rd at 1:30 pm I was sitting in the sauna when 3 teenagers came in wearing civilian clothing (see pictures). One of them had a broom that she stole and started waiving it in my face. Then they tried to steal my water bottle, took the sauna rocks and started throwing them around, I could have gotten seriously injured.
They finlly took my brush and used it on their own hair. One of the girls then put my brush on her anus and started rubbing it. I could not leave the sauna because they were blocking my door. I am SO disgusted and disapointed with Goodlife. I hope that your solution to this will be sufficient for me not to cancel my membership!
