Grand Canyon University [GCU] review: Teacher licensing/enrollment

I was interested in getting my reaching certificate and filled in the online questionnaire. When I was called back and told them I was already teaching in the field that could count as my student teaching requirement. I then applied and filled out all the financial information only to then be told I would not be able to use my current teaching as student teaching. I would need to quit my job and do the student teaching elsewhere. I already have school debt from getting my bachelor’s degree in my own state. I told them I could not do that and asked repeatedly why I was not informed this in the beginning. No emails back. Mean while I had received communication that I had to complete work so I looked at one assignment, only then to be told since I looked at and did 1 beginning assignment I would be charged $978! I never even started! They now have sent me to collections even though I withdrew as soon as they told me about the student teaching, but since it took so long for someone to accept my withdrawal they say I owe them money. I don’t even live in the state and never even logged on to a class and withdrew ASAP. With everyone drowning in student debt I don’t understand why they want me to pay for something I never even attended or wanted to attend. I feel like they are only after the money and financial aid they can bring to the school. I have all the emails and made so many phone calls to no avail. This is from 2021 and they are still harassing me.

I would not recommend this University to anyone. They are out for the money and that is all they care about. They do not respond to you and they do not care
