Our family of 6 just visited Great Wolf Lodge in Garden Grove CA. this past Labor Day weekend. We have been to this hotel/water park several times before and we have never encountered any issues however, this past weekend we had a horrible experience. Our stay was Friday September 1, 2023 through Sunday September 3rd. We stayed in room 908 and encountered bed bugs/fleas and all the children were bit several times on the arms, legs and feet. When we expressed our concerns to the front desk, they did not send a professional for a proper room inspection. Instead, they sent young life guards with a hand held black bag which contained a lot of zip locks bags with band aids, antibiotic ointment and itch cream. They proceded to clean our bites which at this this time were reddened and swollen. They notified the front desk and only offered to change our bed sheets! At this time, we had to verbally ask for a room change in which they agreed but only after we raised concerns in staying in the same room. We were moved to room 822. For a total of 2 nights we spent $1,100 and we were hoping our experience could have been more pleasant and not horrifying for the children. My children did not feel safe for the rest of the stay. I had never been so happy to leave a hotel before upon check out. I could go on and on about the long lines at check in and not enough staff available, the dirty towels in the bathrooms with stains on them, the sofa bed that was broken and had rough beige blankets that felt like sand paper, the dirty carpet in the rooms as well as the rest of the hotel.I am a loyal customer and after my family was moved to another room no one made any follow up calls/check ins to see how our room was or how we were all doing. I am extremely disappointed in the customer service.
Desired outcome: For this business establishment to have better customer service and have a cleaner hotel
