My wife and I had a terrible experience at hairclub. The chemicals used (citric acid) to remove the glue (adhesive) caused more damage. After a initial 3 1/2 consultation, Care Credit paid Hairclub $500. for services not even rendered. Then when she went, on 12/11/07, they adhered the first cap onto her head. This is not what we were told during the consult. We both left under the impression that she was going to get silicone plugs or a "bio-matrix" that was never made clear. On 12/24/07 the glue was coming apart, on 12/25/07, Christmas was totally ruined. The BioMatrix was crackling and chipping off. We left messages and made an appointment to go on the 12/26/07 they removed it. I went the next day to speak to the owner to get back my deposit. I was treated like a criminal. Today 12/28/07 after a lot of difficulty we got our $500 deposit back. This was a big mistake. Melissa has been in tears and the owner was very unempathetic. He trusted his staff and was not listening to a word we were saying. Then Jeff (the owner) made us sign a General Release to give us back the $500 and not sue him for more. He was cold like ice with a smirk on his face. Treated us like two criminals. We regret doing business with them.
When I read this article, I feel sorry for this couple. However, one thing they should know that not every complain will benefit themselves. I do not think any hair regrowth expert, who knows how to regrow hairs, is willing to help them if they have read this complaint article because no one wants to be complained. Nothing can be guaranteed, just like people cannot guarantee that they will never loss hair. People need to make good judgment when they make a decision. If they made a poor judgment, they should learn from the bad experience, and try to make right judgment next time instead of filing complain.
Well I also experienced Hair Club for Woman treatment and yes they do treat you like a criminal even if you miss an appointment. They charge you for the following month which is 2 payments just for changing the date of an appointment even when done in advance. On the first day of signing a contract you are treated like you should like a client but after signing they are rude. My hair loss had worsened so I decided to put a hold on the treatments of hair club and visit a doctor to get some blood work done and to get a second opinion. When I let them know that I would need a couple of months to sort that out the manager treated me really rude and started to ask personal questions about my health. Then later said thats what happens when you miss a month here. Plus they still wan't to charge me for treatments that was not given to me although when I signed the contract I was told I could cancel at anytime. I'm telling you it's a big mess and theese people take advantage of insecurities regarding hair loss. They should be shut down for good!
As a fomer employee, I will agree that these people are a "big business" and hide behind this fact, taking advantage of people who are looking to better themselves. I will tell you that any "contract" based company will have higher end sales tactics to lure you into a "program" of services. There are plenty of hair replacement companies who do not work like this. I love what I do and love how I can help people feel better about themselves however, I did not feel this way working for Hairclub.
I agree the hair place is terrible. they lie, lie, lie. all they give u is a toupe that cost $1500. all their prices are inflated and the hair stylists are not experts. they don't wash, condition your hair properly and u certainly do not get that all around treatment they say u will get. I got my refund back only because I called the CEO and filed a complaint. The place is a ripoff and I reccommend anyone to save ur money. My hair came out more with them putting the glue in my hair than when I first went there. They are terrible and nothing about this product works unless u want to wear a toupe. They make it sound so professional until u tell them u r getting an attorney. I got 75 percent of my money back and will tell everyone Hair Club in Columbia Md sucks!
I had the worst experience in Hair Club Columbia MD. I went there on Saturday, September 3, 2011 to see a hair regrow consultant. The consultant explained the product and process of treatment, with what she said was a guarantee. I decided to attend EXT woman 6 months program on that day. They treated my hair and gave me shampoo, scalp medicine, conditioner, vitamins and a comb. I had paid them $2, 756 on that day.
I start use full options on Sunday, September 4I didn’t realize what’s going on with my body that day. Early in the morning Monday, September 5 I feel dizzy and threw up. I wasn’t sure of the reason I felt sick. I stopped using product on Monday and Tuesday. For a couple days I didn’t feel sick. I started to use scalp medicine, comb my hair and take one vitamin pill on Wednesday morning. An hour later I felt sick and threw up again, I called them up at phone number on the web page. They said will have the corporate office call me back. They called me late in the afternoon I told them the story then they told me to call the Hair Club in MD. I called consultant and told her my story; she advised me to stop using the pill. I stopped the pill on that day, and that night I took a shower and used the Hair Club shampoo. After about 15 minutes I felt dizzy and threw up again. I was certain this product would not work for me.
I went in their office to meet consultant and her manager. They are trying to make me use another product. I made a firm decision to stop using all of their products and I wanted a refund of my money. They say no and refused a refund. I tried to explain that I would pay for the service on Saturday, the product I use since Sunday. They still said no, I went back with my husband to let them know this is the last chance to give me a refund, and if they still say no we will go to court. They said they didn’t do anything wrong, and since I already opened the product I can’t return.
