Entire company is a scam
I wish I had seen these reviews before ordering. This website is such a scam. I ordered the "Time To Toast Kosher Gift Basket" as a congratulatory present for my friends across the country on their engagement on 5/24/2022. The cheapest shipping was $18 for 2 day shipping and so it should have arrived by that Friday at the latest, which the shipping estimate had. Well Saturday morning it shows up all that arrived were two small bags of pretzel sticks (seasoned and plain) and not the variety of yogurt covered pretzels pictured. No champagne at all, nor the serving platter it said it should have come with. It was truly an embarrassment!
I waited a few more days but still, the champagne had not arrived. At this point, I went to the website and used the live chat to speak with someone about this. They short and rude with me. They told me the alcohol ships separately and would arrive soon, despite the shipping information was still showing that the label was created and nothing had changed in a week. Nothing on the website indicates that alcohol would ship separately either. I tried to write a review for the product on their website saying that what was pictured did not arrive and the champagne never made it but nothing posts whenever I attempt to leave a review.
I waited another week and nothing was still changed on the shipment tracking so I messaged them again. This time Olivia was the CSR and she was horrible. Instead of answering questions, she only repeated "Please await your order" and finally closed out of the chat. I was shook. Thank goodness my bank was able to give me my money back but I am making sure that everyone knows they need to stay away from this company!
Product not delivered in time
My order was not delivered in time. Nobody to contact for help regarding my order left multiple messages to call me back nobody did and then they delivered my Mothers day gift to my Mother that had already left the vacation home. The front desk sent me a pick of the delivery and it wasnt what I ordered. Im asking for a refund but they are not complying. Horrendous customer service and in general ridiculous overall on all espects
Desired outcome: nothing as of now had to file a complaint /dispute with my credit card company
Damaged goods
I purchased a care package of a plant and bottle of wine for someone who lost a loved one and the plant came damaged... the friend who I sent gift to reported that the plant arrived ruined amd they had to re-pot it. and now Hazelton won't give me a refund.
Desired outcome: Refund for order 532334USHZ
Horrible Customer Service
I have to say this is the first bad review I have ever left for a company. But I feel compelled to say something as it has been a horrible experience. I ordered a cake to be delivered as I surprise to my son for his birthday. It has never arrived. Canpar (the delivery company) shows an attempt to deliver a couple of times, but did put much effort into it. They did not ring the bell for my son's apartment and also did not attempt to call him on his cell phone to let him know they were there. My son attempted to contact them twice. Took an hour to speak with someone, then got cut off both times while the customer service person put him on hold to find out what the issue was. He never received a call back. I then contacted Hazleton's letting them know of the problem and asked for a refund as by this point a week had gone by since the original order was placed. They will not provide a refund and told me to try contacting Canpar (which had already been done). I have been trying to support Canadian businesses through the pandemic, but would NEVER recommend this one to anyone. Used a similar US service for my other son and the experience was like night and day for the same price.
Desired outcome: Refund of my money
Gift
I placed the order on Oct 10, 2021 for a gift to be delivered to a friend of mine in the same area as their location. This order was never delivered, I sent more than 10 emails to customer support asking them to cancel the order and refund me. I also tried calling which goes to an automatic messaging system. This was never resolved so I continued to message and ask for updates for my inquiry yet have received none, only an automatic message reply. This is so frustrating, my credit card company will not credit me and said I have to take it up with the company. I have tried this countless times and it is now March 30, 2021 and I have yet to receive any refund or resolution for $59.98 spent on nothing.
Desired outcome: I would like a refund
Scamming and terrible customer service
I ordered a gift on march 9th, to be delivered on march 10th, 2022.
I sent what should have been, beautiful chocolate covered strawberries and bubbly to my twin sister on our birthday!
I paid to upgrade the bottle to the Bottega brand.
Not only did the entire gift arrive a day late, they sent the cheap bubbly (no upgrade) and the strawberries were HORRIFIC!
I politely wrote customer service and sent them these photos and was given very rude replies in return! They told me it’s normal practice to not receive what you order. I fully understand things being changed out, but when you pay for an upgrade, you should be receiving an upgraded product. (not to mention they advertise that they are selling champagne when it is cheap sparkling wine)
I was also told that the strawberries did not warrant any form of compensation because they were just fine. (They were disgusting, falling apart, had a bunch of wilted kale in the box and everything was wet)
I can honestly say, I have never seen a gift arrive with wilted kale spread all inside the packaging!
This is my first time ever leaving a complaint about a business online, I normally try to rectify the situation, but when the company refuses to make it right, I have an issue with that!
I was not unreasonable, all I asked for was the price I paid for the difference in the bottle of bubbly, (that was not upgraded) as well as shipping costs. They told me I was basically out of luck! 😡
Desired outcome: I would now like a full refund considering I’ve been treated so poorly. Also others need to know about how terrible their customer service is. I wish I had read the reviews before ordering. Just hoping to help others
Basket
My mom ordered a cake for my husband's birthday. We got another package, a basket with chocolate we did not want. I called the company and they said they changed the order because they couldn't ship the cake, but did not say anything about that to my mom. She would not have ordered it if she would have known. I tried to get a refund and the lady from the callcenter said that she cannot help me.
Gift basket not delivered and horrible customer service
I have ordered a gift basket for Christmas. Hazelton's delivered only half the basket, weeks later when the customer service representative finally got back to me, they found out that the second half was damaged during transit. They offered me new delivery or refund. I decided for new delivery. Unfortunately again 2 weeks later, nothing was delivered. They didn't bother to contact me with any explanation. I have requested refund, which took more than a week to receive confirmation. They still charged me full service and delivery fee even though they delivered only half the gift basket. All up it took almost 2 months. It is so sad there are still companies with such a poor customer service that won't acknowledge their mistake and instead fighting for service/delivery fee for undelivered goods. It's not only about the refund, but also about the disappointment when you are trying to surprise someone with a gift and they ruin it all. Please look for a different provider!
Custom christmas basket
I ordered a "Christmas basket" on December 22 in the morning to be delivered for Christmas. Website indicates "typically delivered in two days". I called into the company to ensure it would be delivered by Christmas day and was told yes it would be. This call I believe was recorded so someone can track that call and that response. It was not delivered until December 31. I selected the $40 package of additional items it said choose 1-7 items to be included. I also chose a wooden plank, a paper basket, a Christmas balloon and two bottles of Proseco, for a total of $111.99CDN, plus tax. The "basket" or "package" was delivered in pieces, soaked in proseco from one of the two bottles that broke before delivery. It was not a "presentation", it was a bunch of loose items. If I wanted a bunch of loose items I would have thrown it all in a box myself. This was meant to be a beautiful gift arrangement. The company asked via email if I would like a refund for "the item". I kindly asked for clarification of which item. With no response, they refunded me $32 for the broken poseco. There were also two items not received, the balloon and one of the 6 items in the "choose 1-7" package. I tried contacting the company again via phone asking to speak to a manager. "Too busy", call another time. I wanted a compensation basket for my friend, I didn't want the refund of the missing items. the email response I received was I didn't pay enough or the 6th item *even though the $40 package said choose 1-7 item). Instead they processed a refund of $5 for the missing balloon. When someone orders from a company and pays almost $120 for chips and chocolate and proseco, I expect it to be an awesome experience. Instead, my friend received loose items with cardboard box soaked in proseco, loose candy she was afraid to eat in case of broken glass while my surprise for her was ruined. If this was about money, I would not have spent $120. After email after email and call after call to request to speak to someone, I never corresponded with anyone about my concerns. I was refunded the broken bottle and missing balloon. When the consumer did nothing wrong here, a company as big as hazeltons, I would expect more from your error.
Desired outcome: Brand new basket, exactly as ordered, forrecipient pient
Christmas gift baskets
I ordered 4 different items for my sister for Christmas - cheese ball, chocolate dipped strawberries, poinsettia plant and a beer gift pack. Please see pictures as represented by the company. Then please see pictures of items as they arrived.
Hazelton did not ship the perishable items in cooling packaging. The items arrived damaged, with fluid dripping over the whole of contents in the box. They did not send the cheeseball but rather 3 small packs of cheese. The poinsettia "plant" was a stem, at best.
Upon receiving the items, my sister advised of the status of the presents I had sent her. Although I was disappointed (as was she) I wasn't angry until I received the response from Jincy at Hazelton's. Jincy, offered "as a gesture of goodwill" a 50% refund. She then proceeded to state, and I quote "As per our FAQs and terms and conditions, we advise all customers against shipping perishable items - that is, any product with a lifespan that is subject to spoilage after a period of time such as fruits, cakes, cheeses and plants - using any shipping method that requires more than one business days' transit. Despite our best efforts, we can't guarantee the condition in which products of this nature will be delivered if in transit for longer time periods". So Jincy, of Hazelton's customer relations team has basically said, it's my fault that items arrived in the state they did because I didn't read the FAQ's or terms and conditions prior to ordering. And that Hazelton's advising against shipping these items. According to Hazelton's website, they are America's #1 gift basket company, which includes perishable items. Let's put this to the aside and again, look at the photos of what I ordered and what I received. Not to mention the fact, that I just learned a cheeseball was not sent but rather 3 small cheese packets. The chocolate dipped strawberry hats, were chocolate dipped strawberries that were inedible when they arrived and again, not what was advertised. Is it even legal to send perishable items without proper packaging?
I appreciate these are trying times for all. However, as a consumer I believe we (all consumers) have rights. I believe that Hazelton's has falsely advertised their products; and although not illegal, they have misguided me as a consumer by stating on their website that they have "reliable quality service", "baskets leave us in pristine condition", "we place a huge emphasis on getting this right for every customer" and they have "immeasurable experience in the field".
Items ordered on 13 December with request for delivery on 23 December. Items ordered were:

- Happy Holiday Bacon Cheeseball SKU: [protected] HZ
- Festive Poinsettia Plant SKU: Set 1566- Hazeltons
- Santa's Hats - Chocolate Dipped Strawberries SKU: JMS003
I am not able to attach a copy of my invoice, email to Hazelton's and Jincy, from Hazelton's response due to format requirements. However, if you are able to provide an email address or if I can provide a link I can forward on all correspondence in regards to this matter.
Desired outcome: Desired outcome is a full refund and an apology for myself and my sister.
Kosher champagne gift set
FALSE ADVERTISING! The only Kosher item in the Kosher Champagne Gift Set was a small package of crackers.
This was a corporate gift that made our company look very bad.
The recipient had no use for non-kosher products.

I ordered the following to my fiancé in Shanghai. It arrived late and there was no hot chocolate in the basket! It was just candy bars completely different from what I ordered. Look at the picture I posted versus what they advertise. Its way different!

Date of incident: Dec 18-29
I chose Hazelton's for a gift basket for my brother-in-law and his partner for Christmas that contained beer, food items, and I added on a bouquet of flowers. Hazelton's committed to delivering the package within two days, by Dec 23. There were multiple issues with the gift upon arrival and delivery was late, which probably contributed to the the following issues. 1) I made my order on Dec 18. Delivery was committed to 2 days, to be delivered by Dec 23. Delivery was not made until Dec 29. Using shipment tracking software, I could see that the package was sitting in Calgary for 5 days when the package was reported as being "in transit". If the package was sitting in a warehouse or truck for 5 days in lower than -30C weather, this is likely when the items in the package froze. On December 23 I received a notice from Hazelton's that the package had shipped. It was supposed to arrive on Dec 23. On Dec 28 I contacted Hazelton's with this inquiry: "I have been tracking this package (see photo below for order number) and I don't believe it's arrived yet at it's destination although I was told shipping would take 2 days when I placed the order. I scheduled the order for Dec 23. Could I please have an update on when it will be delivered? It included flowers so I'm worried if the flowers will still be in good condition by the time they arrive. Thank you." I didn't hear back that day. I wrote Hazelton's again on Dec 29th when I had received the update below (see #2 and #3) from my brother-in-law who received the package on the 29th. 2) When my brother-in-law received the gift, they reported that the beer was frozen and that it had exploded all over the contents of the gift basket. Imagine receiving what was supposed to be a nice gift, and then you need to throw out parts of it and spend time cleaning up the rest. The beer was not consumable. I submitted a photo of the cans to Hazelton's that you could see are dented. When beer freezes in cans it expands and explodes/leaks out. Hazelton's reported this back when I sent in the photos of the beer cans: "We have received the images provided, upon thorough review of which we have decided that the condition in which the items arrived does not warrant compensation. We understand that the way in which the products were jostled in transit may not have allowed for the most ideal presentation/appearance upon delivery of the order, but based on the images contents of the items themselves were indeed protected by their exterior packaging, which the recipient can still use/consume if they wish to do so." after which I replied: "It wasn't just the appearance that was impacted. I was informed by the person that received the package that the beer had exploded over the package. Since the beer had opened during transit due to freezing it is not consumable and the package was supposed to be focused on the beer. Also the flowers were dead. The customer also had to clean beer off of everything in the package as they said it had exploded all over the package. If full compensation is not an option, what about partial compensation for the beer and full compensation for the flowers that had to be thrown out? When choosing a courier, Hazelton's should choose a company that can deliver on time and prevent their baskets from freezing - especially in Canada, in the winter." The basket was called "Holiday Craft Beer & Sweet Treat Gift Set" and the beer was the focal point of the gift. 3) I had added on a seasonal bouquet of flowers for $39.99. The flowers were frozen and dead upon arrival. 4) I asked for a full or partial refund and I was told that since I did not have photos of the rest of the damage, and since my photos of the damaged beer cans were not good enough, that no refund could be given. My response was as followed, but I was told that nothing could be done without more photos. "The cans in the photo are dented and when beer cans freeze they expand and break open. I have already informed you that the flowers were dead and that the person receiving them threw them out. Hazelton's shouldn't expect people receiving gifts to take photos to document if something is wrong with them, and me as the sender can't expect that either. Hazelton's expectation should be that the package arrives as described when it's ordered and, in the time that was described for delivery." I will never use this company again and I recommend that others do not order from them.
Desired outcome: Partial or full refund
Product delivery missing
Hello, I am an Indian citizen. I ordered Chivas Regal as a gift for my colleague in Morrisville, PA.
Here is the order number: 523438USHZ
It hasn't reached the destination yet! When I paid the money, the website said it will reach Kevin on Dec. 24 - a day before Christmas. And it still hasn't reached.
This is very very disappointing. I read that Hazelton's is a top firm in US.
Gift basket was a scam
I ordered a gift basket with an upgraded bottle of whisky and 220 g box of chocolate. A bottle of booze showed up for the recipient on the day that I ordered it for and nothing else. After complaining, a wood box with an 80g box of chocolates showed up. Customer service has not offered to correct these issues or provide a refund. The order number is: 516489USHZ. I received only a very curt response that nothing could be done as the "order" has been shipped. What was received was definitely not what I had ordered.
Desired outcome: Want a refund or the gift I ordered sent
$130 sympathy basket gone. "not responsible" in fine print
Searched for Newton, MA gift arrangements/baskets on Google. Hazelton's site is set up as a local facility being one of the first to show. This is just manipulative marketing which plugs in a series of towns which meet some criteria (assumed). Thinking I purchased a basket which would be next day delivered (said on heading of site). Order was confirmed the next day (Dec 3rd) then placed out for shipment by LaserShip. A delivery date of Dec 6th was declared...Ok not great. The date passes I see "attempted delivery" but with no explanation. I contact Hazelton they tell me it is on me to work it out with LaserShip and send me their fine print which declares they are absolved of all responsibility after the order is placed. Which means they can just take your money and that is it, end of story. I wish it was for $10, 000 so I could take them to court. They are not in the business of resolving customer issues. LaserShip has informed me if it is perishable good they THROW OUT THE ITEM after not being able to be delivered. This may of stemmed from a an address formatting problem which ran the apartment number into the st name... So that is it, my money was taken and nobody is liable simply because it was declared in fine print... SCAM CORPERATION
Desired outcome: FULL REFUND and/or FULL REPLACEMENT with next day delivery
Gift basket for europe
On Hazelton's website, I've worked on placing an order for a gift basket to be delivered in Europe. It took my payment via the PayPal, then refused to confirm the order. My email request for clarification and correction never received any response. I called Hazelton's several times, but I always get hang up on once I explain the situation. Nobody there wants to help complete my order, so that's as good as a theft to me.
Desired outcome: Immediate refund
Incorrect gift basket
Gift basket ordered was not the same that was delivered. Very misleading. Worst company that I have used. None of the items were even close to the one on the website. This company should be shut down. I should have done more research. I saw other bad reviews. Customer service also promised that I will get updates once it gets shipped and when it gets delivered. None of those ever happened. Again do not waste your money. Gift baskets in grocery stores are 10 times better. That says a lot.
Desired outcome: Refund
Basket
Absolute garbage! I spent over 450 dollars on something I thought was supposed to be top notch. They tried to replace everything I ordered with cheaper "subs" without contacting me and saying that it is in the contract when I order it that they can do this. Also they said they replace items of equal value. I'm sorry how does a 353 dollar liquor of royal salute 21 yr compare to the 187 dollar liquor of Johnny walker they tried to give me? The didn't get the correct order at ALL. I ordered a strawberry cheesecake and the cake came smashed with no strawberries. Not the right cheeses I ordered either. When I complained they basically said I was in the wrong. Don't EVER use this company they are garbage. I attached multiple photos for reference.
Champagne and strawberries basket
I ordered a champagne and strawberries gift basket to send to my son for his 25th birthday . He was vacationing in Vegas so I ordered a gift basket of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries to his hotel the night before I thought they could be delivered! They were not delivered the next day because I read that the order had to be in by 11 a.m. the previous day. I missed that…okay, no problem because he was going to be there 3 more days. I emailed and called (never got an answer and had to leave a VM) to which I received back an email always giving me an excuse why it wasn't delivered. Finally, on the last day he was there, the UPS tracking said it had been delivered but he wasn't at the hotel anymore and was on his way back home to Alberta. I had even asked to change the address for this delivery and was told there would be a possible charge 😳😳😳 Another charge? I already paid $60 for express overnight shipping which didn't happen! I was livid. After several, several emails of back and forth with someone there named Nitesh with CSR, I was told it wasn't in their in their policy to refund a delivery that was already delivered. I had called UPS to cancel the delivery or pick up and return to sender as well. Those were my instructions from Hazleton's….what a total nightmare and horrible company. I don't know if I'll ever see the $204 (with exchange ) back again ! Completely unhelpful and do not care about their customers whatsoever. They are grabbing people's money and running. A total scam. If I only knew. After reading all of the other complaints, this place needs to be put out of business for good.
Desired outcome: I want my $204 refunded back to me !
