This company ripped me off
This company ripped me off. I asked to be dropped on time. I have it all documented in an email. Now I can't get anyone to call me back. Chris K was the sales rep I worked with. Be careful! They ain't good people. Even though the phone calls are recorded and I have a paper trail.. Shameful.
This place is great for getting certified in Health and Life Coaching
This place is great for getting certified in Health and Life Coaching. They help you throughout the whole process of turning this into a career. It's very hands-on, so if you don't want to put in the work, don't sign up. I made a bunch of new relationships in their student community too. They gave me all the tools I needed to start my coaching career, and now I have a successful coaching job. The people who wrote those other reviews probably didn't even read the enrollment terms because everything is clearly explained in the terms and conditions. If you want a quick way to get into coaching, this is the school to choose.
The program locked me out of access from my course load- even though it keeps charging me $300 a month
The program locked me out of access from my course load- even though it keeps charging me $300 a month. It's way too expensive for a program that's basically mindfulness techniques paired with cbt habit change. If I can't access my courses, why should I be charged? I want a refund. Especially as I've tried to speak with someone and cannot get anything but an automated response. I've been trying for weeks now- so I'm reporting this company because it definitely feels like a scam. I'm a widowed, single mother - I don't need yet ANOTHER obstacle in my way from bettering my life... yet here we are.
I luvd everything about this company
I luvd everything about this company. I learned so much about diet and especially about myself— things that I will forever keep with me throughout my life. They are very supportive of their students. I was enrolled for a few months, but like most people, was impacted financially due to COVID— of course I had to do what’s best for myself and my daughter, as I am a single mother. I worked with Ashley in regards to this issue and she was so helpful. I am extremely grateful as she was so understanding of my personal life. I 100% recommend this company! They are absolutely lovely, and the material that they teach is gold! If you’re looking to becoming a health/life coach, this is the place to be!
I was impressed from the very start at how easy and simple getting started was
I was impressed from the very start at how easy and simple getting started was. The course is 5 star when it comes to breaking down the science of a healthy lifestyle and providing notes to be easily accessible, but I give it 4 stars due to how difficult it is to get in touch with someone for simple things. The learning hub sometimes locks you out of your next *** and I can't move on until I contact someone. Overall, the staff is friendly and they listen, and they tried their hardest to provide all the tools for possible questions. If you have more than the FAQs, it may take them a while to answer, but they always have. I have learned so much and am very grateful to carry this knowledge with me into my career.
I went thru the Health and Life Coach training, and was excited about all the info and how they did the training
I went thru the Health and Life Coach training, and was excited about all the info and how they did the training. The hands on approach with other coaching students really helped to learn the material. It was always clear from the beginning that you are responsible for building your business, getting your own legal advice, and really that you could do wonderful things with your training. There are so many other coaches I know that are truly making a difference in others lives because of their training. My niche has changed already, as they said it would, but I feel like I was given a more valuable training than I received in my online bachelors degree. HCI continues to be a resource for me, and I have been able to use what I have learned countless times already. Although the pricing may seem high, when you compare it to a semester at a college it is very reasonable.
It's my right as a consumer to seek justice and get fair compensation for poor products or services
It's my right as a consumer to seek justice and get fair compensation for poor products or services. The tuition for this institute is $7,000, and I've already paid $2,000. I no longer want to get a certificate or access their resources, but I still have to pay the remaining tuition. They claim to offer options for unexpected situations, and they say the course is self-paced. However, my enrollment representative didn't tell me that there's a limited time to complete the certificate. They also didn't mention that if I miss the deadline, I'll have to pay an extra $500 upfront, in addition to the monthly tuition. I didn't ask for a refund, I just wanted to opt out completely, but they denied my request. In the end, I'll have paid $7,000 for tuition and have nothing to show for it. This institute is all about greed.
I went to many courses through HCI and each one was worth every penny
I went to many courses through HCI and each one was worth every penny. They give so much great information, so many resources, and they're always improving. The team at HCI, whether it's the IT team or their coaching team, is absolutely amazing. So many nice people and they are really kind and helpful in every interaction. I did a lot of research before choosing a coaching program, and I am so happy I went with my gut and chose HCI. Make sure you know the time frame for each course (like how long you have to finish the course), the average weekly time spent, certification requirements, and other details about the course. If you have any questions or concerns, always reach out to the team because they are more than happy to answer questions and help students. I started with BHC (Become a Health Coach), which I think was the perfect choice for me as someone who was completely new to coaching. It gives so much to the students, and it's easily done at your own pace. Follow your instincts of course, but don't be afraid to check this program out!
I joined the December cohort and I gotta say, I'm really let down by the program
I joined the December cohort and I gotta say, I'm really let down by the program. First off, my clarity coach pushed me to make a decision before I was ready, which made me super skeptical. I wish I had trusted my gut. Also, both my clarity coach and the founders, Stacey and Carrie, said in phone calls and webinars that as new cohorts, we'd get free tickets to the HCI live event. But when I tried to sign up, turns out I have to pay for the ticket upfront and then get a refund later. That ain't free! It's false advertising, plain and simple. I signed up because of that offer, and now I feel deceived.
And let me tell you, the content is just repetitive and phony. The videos could be way shorter if they didn't keep repeating themselves and trying to sell other parts of the program. I haven't learned anything valuable or new. It's a total letdown. Plus, the refund policy is unfair. I hadn't even started my classes yet, so how was I supposed to know if it was a good fit for me? It's just not right.
Overall, this program was a big disappointment. It's not what it was advertised to be, and I'm really upset about it.
I'm writing to share my story because I think it's important to understand the balance between what we need and want as students and what HCI
I'm writing to share my story because I think it's important to understand the balance between what we need and want as students and what HCI can and cannot do for us. Like some of you, I found myself in an unexpected negative financial situation with unexpected medical bills. I became depressed, sad, and feeling completely overwhelmed and stressed. I wasn't mentally or physically prepared or ready for TCM, which was starting soon, and I was also facing extreme financial hardship. Even though I had signed up for TCM and BA during the October Summit of 2020 and was past the refund date, I still reached out to HCI to ask for a refund because I believed HCI would show me compassion and understanding. It wasn't an easy request for me, and I'm sure it wasn't easy for HCI to work with me either. However, I'm happy to report that Ashley T, the Account Manager, and her team worked with me to find a solution that we both agreed on. I understood HCI's refund policy, and HCI understood my unfortunate situation. I'm very grateful because I know that refunding every request may not be in the best interest of HCI. However, I believe HCI is fair and compassionate, even if it may not seem that way at first. My recommendation is to keep working with HCI, be positive, and be sensitive to their values because I experienced the same in return. I wish my fellow students and HCI continued success in all their future endeavors.
Shortly after me and my sister and friend started a diet and weight loss program, we realized that the training we got didn't really help us
Shortly after me and my sister and friend started a diet and weight loss program, we realized that the training we got didn't really help us with changing people's behavior - which is super important for keeping the weight off and living a healthy life. So we started looking into coaching programs and that's when we found Health Coach Institute. Let me tell you, I'm so glad we did! Yeah, it takes up some time, but trust me, it's totally worth it. I've grown so much as a person and as a professional, and that's made it easier for me to help others figure out their own issues and start making positive changes. I signed up for their Become a Health Coach program when I was already in the middle of a 3-year spiritual development thing and starting a new business. And then, bam, COVID happened. It was a lot to handle, but my love for coaching just kept growing and I wanted to keep learning, so I decided to do their advanced training too. But then I realized that maybe it wasn't the right time for me to take on more stuff without really getting to use what I learned in the first program. So I reached out to Ashley at HCI and we talked about it. I'm happy to say that they were cool about it and we worked something out. When I'm ready to level up my skills, I'm definitely sticking with HCI. I've already told people about them and I'll keep on doing it!
I had a really bad experience with HCI
I had a really bad experience with HCI. I signed up in November , all excited to take on this challenge and learn new skills. I was juggling this course with a full-time job and a family. When the class started in December, I started experiencing intense neck and shoulder pain. I didn't worry too much because I was told we could start class in January. But after going to the doctor, getting X-rays and an MRI, they found out that the root of my pain is a pinched nerve in my C7 and two bulged discs. They said a cortisone shot might be the next step, followed by surgery. I've been in constant, unbearable pain for 2.5 months. It's really scary, and it's costing me a lot of money. Obviously, I haven't been able to invest any time in HCI because I can barely do my job to make a living. So, since I'm way past the 15-day cancellation window according to the contract I signed, I explained my situation to HCI customer service and HCI leadership. I asked if it was too late to cancel and requested at least a partial refund of the $1,000 I already paid. They said no. They kept saying they were "happy to help me," but the only option they gave me was to "walk away." Just to be clear, I haven't accessed any of the HCI material or sessions. I haven't participated in any of the group events. But the people in charge at HCI, who are supposed to be kind and caring, decided that the only "fair" thing to do is to cancel and keep all the money I've paid so far. This is all happening during a really stressful time for me, both financially and emotionally. So, my advice is to go somewhere else for life coach training. There are plenty of other schools out there.
I enrolled for the January cohort and I was excited to get started
I enrolled for the January cohort and I was excited to get started. But I wasn't told that I couldn't withdraw from courses if something unexpected happened. We all know about the pandemic that started in March and is still going on. Despite our circumstances, I paid without fail because I was determined to finish. Recently, I had to make the tough decision to withdraw for financial reasons. I contacted the support team to let them know and asked them to stop taking payments from my account. They said I couldn't withdraw and I still had to pay tuition. I hadn't even started the second part of the program because of all the changes and adjustments I had to make. Luckily, it was only connected to my debit card and not my actual account, or I would have sued them. I spent almost $1950-$2000 on $5400 worth of tuition. It wasn't an easy decision, but I had to do what was best for my family. I'm shocked at how they handled people's situations, especially those who couldn't afford the reduced tuition. I wish I could have, but I couldn't. This lack of consideration really changed my opinion of the Institute. I think the program is great and worth the investment, but they should have been more understanding on a case-by-case basis. They mentioned something about requesting a refund with supporting documents, but I never asked for one. I didn't apply for any financial aid, so I shouldn't have to pay if it's my own money. I understand they might think I have access to all the materials, but what's the point if I can't get certified without completing my tuition? It doesn't help me at all. I hope they treat their other students with special circumstances better than they treated me.
