I have been with MTN for four years on a sim only contract getting 60G Anytime data and 60G Night express data for 24 months @ R274.02. I was due for an upgrade this month of November. So between the 14th - 16th of November 2023 (Don't remember the exact date) I got a call from a lady who said she was calling from MTN Direct and had some upgrade offers for me, she went on to tell me about the black friday deals that they have which was 80G anytime and 80G night for R260 and obviously I thought its a good deal because it's less money and more data. I told her to go ahead and process it. After we were done she said I will receive a contract immediately after she gets off the call. So the same day I didn't receive the email as she promised and I decided to call the contract department and that is when my problems started.

I spoke to another lady where I was explaining that I am awaiting a contract but didn't get it and that I am getting messages from my bank to approve a debit of an amount I know nothing about. The lady explained the bank debit notifications messages which I understood, Then she told me that I took the same package I was on previously as an upgrade, I said No, That is not what I agreed to, I was told that I am being offered 80G anytime data and 80G night. At this point I was so mad because I am thinking the lady who processed my contract lied to me, she sold me a contract with false information. Which I believe you will agree with me that is Unethical, she played me and its fraud.

I then asked the lady to cancel the contract, she then told me to rather wait as she will log in a case so investigations can be done and listen to recording of the conversation I had with the lady who sold me the contract and that it takes 7 days for the case to be concluded. So I agreed to that and haven't heard anything from them since, mind you it has way more than 7 days. I said to her that 7 days will be past the 7 days that I have to cancel the contract. She then said to me not to worry as they will see on their system when she logs an investigation.

So last week, I called the customer care line and I was transferred from one department to another, I stayed on the phone for more than an hour and no one knew how to help me except that I will have to pay a fee if I want to cancel. I asked about the investigations regarding the call and no one knows anything. How crazy is that, I am even starting to think that the agents are even trying to protect each other in a way, because they transfer from one agent to another and at the end no one knows how to help me. And where is the case that has been investigated?.

My debit goes on the 2nd and they're gonna debit without solving my problem, I was very clear that I want what I signed up for or cancel the contract, why must I be the one to pay the cancellation fee when the time I wanted to cancel was told to wait for the case to be investigated. So it seems like a plan all along that they delay so they can say I have to pay.

Claimed loss: Will be losing 260 every month for 36 months for something I did not want.

Desired outcome: Be given what I agreed to or cancel the contract without paying a fee.

Good afternoon,my name is Rebecca Taioe, i have a contract with sell direct via telkom, on December 13th my phone didnt want to switch on and i took to telkom vaalmall and they said they are going to send it for repair and on 22th of Dec they debited my money without me having my phone.. Then again on 25th of January 2024 they debited from my account without any communication on when will my phone be back from repair. So this month im cancelling their contract and even going to the bank to block them from debiting. I never dealt with useless company like telkom and sell direct.

Good morning, my name is Tshepang. I owed telkom R7, 123 and paid it on the 27th of December which reflected on the 29 at telkom. On January 31st they deducted R666, 95 on my account & I pay R579 monthly. When I call telkom their agents says that it's a late payment for January. Telkom is a useless company & that is a daylight robbery. Their customer service is very poor.
