My husband purchased my 2 cttw solitaire engagement ring at Helzberg's and when we received it back from having it sized, the stone was completely loose in the setting. It rattled when I wore it and I was so upset. I couldn't believe anyone would even return costume jewelry to a customer in that condition, let alone an expensive engagement ring that should be wearable throughout a lifetime. Also, they CHARGED us for the resizing which blew my mind, and then would not refund the money after I returned with the damaged ring. They had my ring for almost 2 months before I received the ring back, and this time the setting came back completely different. They had added extra prongs on to the ring to try to secure the stone. It looked horrendous and I was even more upset. After much, MUCH complaining on my part, I received a REPLACEMENT of the setting, which was a stock item, after we had purchased it being told that it was a custom, one-of-a-kind setting. HORRIBLE customer service and a bad experience for us as a newly engaged couple with no ring to show for months on end.
Now today, a year and a half later, the setting in my wedding ring has fallen out. Less than three years since purchasing the engagement ring and here we go again. BUYER BEWARE.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I just had 2 rings resized, wedding & topaz/diamond ring, and they charged me over $200 which is insane as I paid $50 per ring at the place I bought them which is an upscaled jeweler. I had a coupon to save $50 off $250 so I bought a necklace and then they wouldnt let me use the coupon and to make matters worse they tried to sell me a stuff animal when it was obvious I needed to save $50 more than I needed a stuff animal that was $13! Every other place in the mall had killer sales but not this place. I told them they are tight fisted and not consumer friendly.
My friend works for Helzbergs and so did I for a short period of time seasonally. Well I had a .75 ct Princess that I had in a setting from my previous engagement that I wanted to buy a pendant to have it placed in. My stone was the most beautiful, no color and no flaws. My ex and my best friend picked it out together over a period of like 3months of diamonds brought in. They sent the ring along with my newly purchased pendant it was going to be placed in to find out that when my ring came back from the "Jeweler" it was burnt. How do you burn a diamond is beyond me but I would think my best friend since grade school would not lie to me, she sent it back and had them replace the diamond without saying anything to me until after she had it replaced. I'm pretty upset to say the least because now I'm back with the man that bought me the ring and it looks like a yellow piece of crap in a pendant. They obviously have some problems which is why they have to shut down some of their stores.

Awful jewelry! We bought a ring and had it less than a week and a diamond had already fallen out. We took it back to have it fixed, I had it for a day and it fell out again! Cheap cheap cheap jewelry, rude customer service as well. went to zales and bought something way better!
I WAS SOLD MOISSANITE AS REAL DIAMONDS!
LAWSUIT!?
The picture below is of the 14k engagement band my husband bought with me, for me, on Feburary, 2010. That band supposedly, had 12 REAL DIAMONDS IN IT! FOR THE PRICE OF ALMOST $700! ALL TO FIND OUT, THEY WERE MOISSANITE, WHEN I CONFRONTED THE MATTER, I WAS TOLD BY THE MANAGER THAT, THEY DID NOT EVEN SELL MOISSANITE THERE THEN! AND I, HAD JUST LEARNED WHAT IT WAS! BUYER BEWARE! & TAKE YOUR HELZBERG STONE IN ASAP! TO BE INSPECTED, TO MAKE SURE, YOURS, IS NOT A FAKE OR, A BUNCH OF FAKES...! IN-FACT - ** YOU MAY WANT SOMEONE ELSE TO INSPECT IT FIRST**! JUST WONDERING HOW MANY OTHER PEOPLE OUT THERE ARE WEARING FAKE DIAMONDS AND ARE TOTALLY UNAWARE AND HAVE BEEN, FOR WHO KNOWS, HOW MANY YEARS! ON TOP OF THE FACT, IF LIKE ME, YOU PAID THE PRICE FOR, THE "REAL THING"!
