Fraud
In July of 2010 I placed a custom doll order with this firm in the amount of $1, 800. The owner, Emil Vicale kept asking me for more money to complete the doll. I gave him another $600. By October, when the doll did not arrive I contacted Vicale. He made excuses. I wanted a refund. He made more excuses. Finally I threatened him with legal action. Instead of a refund Vicale started emailing me nasty naked pictures of himself.
(The pictures were just gross.) Finally I got law enforcement involved. After about two months of haggling Vicale agreed to refund my money which he never did. Eight months later he is still emailing me nudes of himself and still no refund. Trying to put a stop to this guy is nearly impossible. It amazes me he is still in business but he is.

RIP OFF Company
BOUGHT A CUSTOM DOLL AND STAND FROM THIS COMPANY, LOOKED NOTHING LIKE WHAT I ASKED FOR, OVERCHARGED ON SHIPPING, FORGOT STAND FOR THE DOLL AND I PAID 800$, THE DOLL WAS INCOMPLETE AND THEY PUT A NOTE INSIDE AND SAID THE SCULTPRESS GOT SICK SO THEY COULDNT FINISH. FORGOT SO MUCH DETAIL THAT I PAID SO MUCH FOR. THE PAINT JOB ON THE FACE WAS SO TERRIBLE. I SENT THIS DOLL BACK, HE SAID HE WOULD REFUND ME FOR THE WRONG HAT, THE SHIPPING, THE NAME NOT ON THE SHIRT, THE STAND, YET HE JUST SENDS NASTY EMAIS BACK AND FORTH AND NEVER HAS REFUNDED ANYTHING, BUT KEEPS TELLING ME THAT HIS ACCOUNTING DEPT HAS. I HAVE RECEIVED NOTHING AND NOW I AM 800.00 OUT, THIS WAS SUPPOSE TO BE A XMAS PRESENT FOR MY HUSBAND AND IT WAS A MESS. THEY DO SEND YOU IMAGES, BUT ALL IT IS IN JUST THE HEAD SCLUPTED OF WHAT PICTURE YOU SEND THEM, NOT THE PAINED VERSION AFTER, WHICH THEY DID SUCH A HORRIBLE JOB THAT THE SCULPTED NUDE PIC LOOKED LIKE HIM BUT ONCE THEY PAINTED THE EYES THE WHITE OUT WAS LEAKING OUT OF THE EYES, THE UNIFORM WAS NOTHING LIKE THE COLTS UNIFORM I SENT A PIC TO THEM FOR. THEY DIDNT PUT HIS NAME ON THE JERSEY. IT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE A FOOTBALL FIGURE AND IT HAS A HUGE SHIRT ON IT, WHITE CAPRI'S AND SNEAKERS. I HOPE NO ONE ELSE GETS ANYTHING CUSTOMIZED BY THIS BUSINESS. BEWARE IF YOU DO.

at least you got a Doll...this bozo offered Sarah Palin Dolls during the election. I ordered 1 of each of the 3 offered. Guess what? No dolls, no return call or email. Thank God Paypal gave me a refund. I wrote to better business bureau and all agencies I can think of. Government action at their best since this guy keeps ripping people off
Bad Service/terrible work
I ordered a 700.00 doll and it took about a month to get and when I did get it, they were missing the stand that I purchased with it, they overcharged me 45$ on shipping and this doll looked like a 5 yr old did it. I am so completely frustrated with this company. I have emailed and called with nothing back. They say they do not offer any refunds but I dont think with this kind of work they should even be getting business. I am writing this complaint so that no one else has to go through losing money and not getting a doll or getting it and it looks terrible. It looks nothing like my husband and has a very bad paint job on him. The outfit was horrible and they charged me way too much for this doll I can do nothing with now. So please do not let them scam you as well and anyone you know tell them not to BUY from this company and stay away. After I leave complaints everywhere I can, I hope it will keep money out of their pockets and can no longer get any business. This place is terrible.. beware!

Rip off
Mr. Emil Vicale / President of HeroBuilders.com A Division fo Vicale Corporation took my money but never sent me the dolls I ordered and paid for. They do not answer their phone and will only respond to emails with questions, when I answer the questions they never come back to tell me why they have not sent my order. I have been trying to either get my dolls or my 60.06 dollars back. This has been going on since September 12th. I paid using PayPal and filed a complaint with them. I have also filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and with IC3 for internet fraud.

Vicale is a dirtbag. He told me that everyone's money is "safe with Paypal" and that "everyone would get a refund". I also filed with Paypal and they did nothing. The Better Business Bureau in Oxford, CT didn't answer my complaint, so they must play poker with Emil or something. Good luck to all.
They got you too? I order 3 dolls from them and got no response from email or phone. I am doing all I can to report this fraud. I see they are still taking payments and orders. They even update their website

In May of 2010 I ordered a custom made doll from herobuilders. I was billed $850.00 in advance and promised the doll would be finished in about a month. About a month later I got a call from the owner, Emil Vicale claiming more detailed work had to be done and it would add about $300.00 more to the price. Being a doll collector it didn't sound out of the oridinary, so I paid Mr. Vicale another $300.00.
A couple of months passed and no doll. I emailed herobuilders only to be told there were delays but the doll would be shipped by October 1st. October arrived and no doll. I emailed again and more excuses.
Around Halloween I had to visit an ailing Aunt in Connecticut, so I decided to look Herobuilders up and demand an explanation. I arrived at what appeared to be a condemned house, dirty and junk all over the place. I was met by a rather Ethnic looking woman who called herself Countess Rapture. She didn't know anything about Emil but for ten bucks she would tell my fortune. Curious I entered the house. There were doll parts all over the place in addition to junk and garbage. There were all sorts of young ethnic not too clean looking children barefoot running around.
Seeing the doll parts I again inquired about Emil. I was told Emil worked for the Obama administration and was in Washington at the moment. If I'd leave a phone number he'd get back with me.
Nothing more to do so I left only to discover my purse had been stolen and somehow The Countess or the unkept children had picked my pockets as well and made off with a check book. I filed a police report immediately. Since I did not see The Countess or the children physically steal anything it was their word against mine. The Oxford police told me that Vicale was a gypsy and had a record for petty stuff - stealing jewelry off corpses in funeral homes, shop lifting and that sort of thing. Vicale's wife, Zesta aka Countess Rapture also told fortunes and also sold Watkins products door to door. Although fortune telling is illegal in Connecticut the way Vicale and his wife get around that is they call themselves a church,
Now we are into 2011 - no doll, no refund and Vicale won't respond to my emails or phone calls.
Let's face it I have been had.
