no magazine
I subscribed for a 1 year membership ($20) because I wanted to get hgtv magazines. I did not like the digital version, because it was hard for me to read, so I subscribed to get a printed one. Never received a singe magazine! I contacted hgtv tons of times asking why there was no magazine delivered and they simply did not reply. They I sent another message and asked them to cancel my subscription and demanded my money and again they ignored me! Such a waste of money!
subscription I didn't order
Today (june 15, 2016) I received an email with a bill for $18 for an hgtv magazine subscription that I did not order. Like all the other folks who have posted, I did enter a contest that seems to have generated the subscription. The good news is that I called the number provided by another poster [protected]. Spoke to a very pleasant woman (kate?). Gave...
Read full review of HGTV and 8 commentsserious issues re: subscription to hgtv magazine!
In september 2015, I decided to subscribe to hgtv magazine by mailing in the small postcard that's frequently included in their issues. I received a bill for $19.99 within a matter of approximately 10 days. I continued to receive "reminders" of the outstanding balance over the next three months - however, I never received any of the magazines during this timeframe! When I called their customer service department (after searching the internet to find a valid telephone number), I finally reached a representative who explained to me that she would send the first issue. I eventually received my first issue, but it was over two months old! I called again, explaining i'm not comfortable paying twenty bucks for a subscription when I never even got the magazine. I promptly called them again and canceled my "subscription" (did I ever even have one to begin with?) and asked that they no longer send me invoices for something I never received. I'm a bit surprised at the poor customer service and lackluster business practices this well-known brand is applying to their unsuspecting (potential) customers. Shame on hgtv! I expected much more. I will continue to look to the other home decor magazines for inspiration - they're much more affordable and, obviously, value me more as their customer.
I subscribed to HGTV magazine & paid by check which cleared. After 3 months of not receiving any issues I emailed them & confirmed they had my correct address. During this time I received several invoices. After three more months went by I emailed them & cancelled by subscription. I received a refund for the remaining issues but not for the 6 months that I had not received any issues. I emailed them again & demanded a full refund. HGTV magazine subscription is a scam & I would not recommend you subscribed to their magazine.
Ordered one year subscription. Did not renew. Continued to get the magazine and a bill for $34.97. I have responded twice by mail and once by email saying I did not renew nor did I care for this magazine. While typing this complaint, someone just answered my phone call. Chelsea. She said that my writing the company was never read because it is done by an imagine scanner. She politely cancelled everything and since I had called in, she proceeded to offer me a (paid) subscription to another magazine. Are you kidding? Oh, my. I would not have taken a free one! I have been trying to get OUT!
free gift subscription with renewal
Hi, I received an "offer" from hgtv magazine stating the above if I renewed my subscription now. So, the thing is my subscription ends in june of 2016 so this is a bit premature. The cost would be $24.00 for both. A subscription is $19.99 or something like that... So... Why so early and why the lie that the second subscription is "free"? I am not...
Read full review of HGTVentered sweepstakes resulted in subscription
Entered sweepstakes to win a dream home and unknowingly resulted in an automatic subscription. I have been entering these sweepstakes for years. I called [protected] and spoke to a lady name deja, who informed me that the sweepstakes I entered noted that I needed to click somewhere in order not to get the automatic subscription. This is a farce! I could understand if I had to click on something to subscribe (which I would not do); but to have to read further than entering the sweepstakes for something that I did not know was an automatic thing, is unreal. I am a big fan of hgtv, but this crosses the line.
hgtv contests rigged
Hgtv contests are rigged. Every winner is ready and waiting for the door bell to ring and then come tho the door (of their already beautiful home and obvious wealthy position in life). They never go to area codes that don't match their desire of aesthetics. The people that answer the door and their family and company are actors. Scam is hardly the word. Staged it the word, paid actors are the participants. As far as that lady that called in to win something, it would be no effort on their end to put a message to the callers that someone else had already won instead of leading people to believe that they had won so they thousands of people didn't continue to call. Even if the people were called ahead it time to set up the "surprise" win, why are they already wealthy and already living in wonderland neighborhoods? Hoax hoax hoax

Exactly. You never see a single parent whom rented an apartment for years win a home. The winner is always a wealthy couple that owns beautiful homes or vacation homes that aren't in any need of a home.

never ordered the subscription
I am also a victim of this scam. I received an email containing my "payment due immediately." when I called the customer service # [protected]), which by the way, they do not provide on their website (gee, I wonder why?!?!) in which their email sent me to pay my "bill" & cancel this unwanted subscription that I never ordered, the csr said when I entered a...

i hate getting scammed
To the Folks at the Hearst Empire:
I am interested to know why paid subscribers, like myself, were not notified that there would be no April/May issue and that June/July is "scheduled to be sent "Mid May".
I bought and paid for a subscription for myself and another for my Mom. A "reasonable person" would presume a February/March issue is followed by an April/May issue.
You have our e-mail addresses. Why request our e-mail if you can't use it to inform your customers of a delay. You use it for a lot of other things.
Now, after an hour of online searching, I have read that 3 more issues are "scheduled" for 2012. (NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire -03/19/12).
So, can I expect?
1. Aug/Sept issue sent the end of July,
2. October/Nov issue sent the end of September and
3. Dec/Jan issue sent the end of November
If not, just say it is a quartly magazine and give yourselves the extra 30 days.
Annoyed in Florida
HGTV Magazine has problems, also. I sent in my payment for a subscription and kept getting nasty e-mails that I was ignoring their requests for payment. I sent in a copy of the check to them and still kept getting nasty e-mails. When I checked, it turned out that the company had already cashed the check. It appears that everyone has received the premier issue, but HGTV is not following up on their subscription requests. No further issues have come out. I know that HGTV is well known, but I am beginning to wonder about them.
My husband did the same thing. I just typed in the Billing address and searched it. I went to w1.buysub.com/pubs/HR/CLG/CLG_FAQ.jsp?lsid=... - which is Country Living magazines customer service. I punched in my husband's account number and all the info came up. Then on the left hand side of the screen it said cancel subscription and I did that. we will see what happens. Good luck.
100,000 contest is a rip off!
I am very concerned about the contest that you held recently for the home viewers of the hgtv dream home in winter park, co. As far as the $100,000 give away went,... When the announcer asked the audience to call in to give the answer to the mystery question, I along with everyone else in america was trying to get through. That is why, when I called and...

Hgtv has a bogus backyard giveaway contest. The catch, you have to answer a servey for numerous products, companies, then subscribe to some of them before you can proceed with the "contest" entry. One page asks for the last 4 digits of your social security number. This is not a contest. Just another cheap shot aiming to make more money from advertising.
I was watcing My Lottery Dream Home and Fixer to Fabulous - 2 of my favorite shows - and was disappointed with the additional voice commentary inserted into each show.
The additional commentary was unnecessary. In addition, the voice was irritating especially the way the way sentences were finished with rising intonation.
Thank you!
I cannot find information anywhere on your website about the home sweepstakes regarding the Hurrican Status of the home. What type of hurrican could it withstand? How much would home/hurrcane insurance cost, etc. If you could eiother provide we with that information aor direct me to a place where I can find it, it would be very hulpful for me.
I am an admit watcher of this network. But one can only take so much. I am so tired of watching the same episodes on Friday.i totally love," My lottery dream home," and David is the best. The reruns are making me change the channel every time. Please new episodes. So, I can watch my favorite show. Thanks DB
I just Writing this notes cause. I don’t thing HGTV sweepstakes allows New Yorks to win. It’s been year I been try. But I never say someone from New York win. I love HGTV , but I guess it’s only for certain ppl to win. Just saying. It’s alway the south or west winning. So why try and get your hope up. Smh. Hopefully one day it will happen
I love HGTV shows and watch almost all of them but recently, someone had the bright idea of adding one minute to their programs.
This makes it impossible to record multiple shows at once since DirecTv allows only two.
Why so greedy? Here's just one of many examples:
"Vacation House Rules"

Please fix this now.
2 males showing way too much public affection. Since HGTV shows are rated for all audiences this really crosses lines and gives no warning to protect eyes of especially young people.
I watch hg over half of my tv viewing. I understand the need for new shows unfortunately tho the new show with Terek and his wife is absolutely aweful! Listening to her whine is like finger nails on a chalkboard. Please do something with her. Hopefully not to renew the show but if not make her more human or something.
never ordered this yet received magazine and bill!
Please stop the Christina shows. She is a horrible role model, and she squeaks when she talks, her decor is always the same and we are SICK of her.
I barely watch your channel anymore because seniors don’t like her. We are your biggest audience, please STOP and find someone good.
So much for family entertainment. Go woke go broke. Drag queen judge for real. Can’t watch your channel again.
