After having very positive experiences in the past, I was extremely disappointed when Hoffmann Brothers overcharged me to replace a washer. They've been unable or unwilling to produce an itemized invoice, saying "that's not how we do it," so I'm left guessing as to how much I was actually charged for the washer itself. As best I can tell (based on the *** for the washer) I was charged somewhere in the neighborhood of $600 for the removal of the old machine and installation of the new one--easily double or triple what you'd pay for those services from any other company. I've had several *** calls, but none have led to any real resolution. I'll never use them again.

Informative and it was easy for me to make the decision to select this company. *** was influential in my selecting *** for this first service call I have had with them.The technician could not have been easier to work with, took all precautions to protect my light carpet, kept me informed and patient with many questions. I had questions related to this water heater install, as well as other company services. *** was professional, respectful and well trained in his field. I was pleased to have him doing the install. They even scheduled the permit inspection day.I am now considering other projects with this company and highly recommend ***.

Hoffmann Bros. installed both a tankless water heater and high-efficiency furnace six years ago. The furnace works fine. The tankless water heater (Navien) went bad after 4 years, giving only tepid water. Although I was supposed to save $168 a year in gas charges, I was not told that cleaning of carbonate deposits required a visit each year or so, about $150. Okay, fine, I'm green, infinite tepid water. One tech scratched his head at $95 for the visit and $140 per hour and brought over a specialist at no extra change they figured out it was a bad "water adjustment valve." They gave me a break on the visitation fee and offered me the part needed at the cost to them. Hey, that was a deal, and I am satisfied with their work and expertise.

Hoffmann Brothers have been outstanding
Hoffmann Brothers have been outstanding. We've had them replace our sewer lateral, service our HVAC three times now (someone else installed incorrectly), and now installed a new thermostat to correct an install affecting our heat pump. The staff has always been extremely professional, knowledgeable, thorough, have gone above and beyond to help with issues they don't exactly handle, always on time or communicate if there's a delay. I think personally their pricing has been reasonable and most definitely worth the quality of work they do. They do give you options to fit your budget and we've utilized their financing options on larger projects. I don't remember how we found them, but super glad we did. We will be using them in the future for other services.

I had HVAC installed the week before Halloween 2022 by a local company! The team was punctual, efficient, and respectful of our home. They kept us informed throughout the process. Choosing the right product was made easier with the company's sales advice, making the purchase less daunting. It's great doing business with a team that responds to local calls. I'm also grateful for the Home Protection Plan, which I used the following week for a plumbing issue. Kudos to the HVAC team for their excellent work! Last week, 1/8, I called Hoffmann Brothers-Plumbing to fix two minor problems on two toilets. One problem was the water closet wouldn't fill up because the flapper was worn. The other toilet seemed slow and took two flushes to get to clear water. A technician came out that afternoon. After looking at both concerns, he said my toilets were installed in 1985 and I needed new ones. While he went out to his van to write up the proposals, two options he said, I called my neighbor who is an engineer and architect to get her thoughts. She asked if my toilets were leaking or was there any water around the shut off valve...I said no. She said to "get rid of him". He's taking advantage of you! Since then I've shared this experience with the neighborhood web-site and the responses confirm what I suspected - this company "up sells" to women. There were so many horror stories. So my comment is that this company's integrity hits rock bottom and I am totally disgusted.

After 2 appointments and $95 I am right where I started
After 2 appointments and $95 I am right where I started. I called Hoffman because I have a weird refrigerator and could not find a replacement for the gasket on my freezer. I gave them the product information and the tech showed up without a replacement gasket or replacement freezer door. He, instead, suggested that the problem was that I needed to thaw out the freezer completely. Of course, this was ill advised and after a second appointment they finally looked up the info that I gave them from the beginning and determined that they could not fix the issue. I was informed that, even though I told them I wanted the gasket replaced, that the $95 was for the technician's time. If Hoffman is paying their techs $95 per hour to hand out quality advice like "thaw out your freezer" then sign me up. At best, Hoffman was just too lazy to do their research before my appointment. At worse, they knew they couldn't fix my issue and sent a tech to justify charging me $95.

I am very grateful to God that he led me to choose HOFFMANN BROTHERS to install my new HEATING AND COOLING SYSTEMS.I have two different locations to install. I at first chose a different well-known business to install which they left me hanging and never bothered to call to inform me the day of my installments that no one was coming to install my systems. I was always having to call about all of my interest and concerns which that lead up to attitudes from they're side which directed me toward another installer which was THE HOFFMANN BROTHERS. Everyone from Management to the installers were very professional. They knew exactly what they were doing and did an Awesome job, I am very pleased and very happy for those all that was involved with the job...I would use HOFFMANN BROTHERS again because I know the job will be done correctly the first time and they wouldn't hesitate to correct the problem if needs be...So thank you HOFFMANN BROTHERS it was a job well done at both of my locations.

02/19/22 Hoffmann Brothers replaced our old sump pump with a new one and added a 12V battery backup pump
On 02/19/22, Hoffmann Brothers replaced our 17-year-old sump pump with a new model, also installing a 12V battery backup pump. The installation was top-notch, and the service technician was outstanding. Since buying our home in July , we've been loyal Hoffmann Home Maintenance Members. After a heavy rainstorm, our old pump failed, but a temporary fix by adjusting the float mechanism wasn't enough, prompting us to upgrade and add a backup unit for extra security. Post-purchase, we installed a radon gas removal system, necessitating a sealed sump pit with a plastic cover and silicone caulk. We're delighted with our new system, ensuring protection against primary pump failure or power outages. We highly recommend Hoffmann Brothers for homeowners facing similar issues or needing services in heating, cooling, electrical, plumbing, or appliance repairs.

Our experience with Hoffmann Brothers was quite different
Our experience with Hoffmann Brothers was quite different. The technician who performed furnace work (i.e. replaced a pipe for $700) for the 82 year-old homeowner poured boiler water down a detached sink in her basement vs. outside in the yard or down a working drain in the home. The boiler water was left behind on the basement floor and never cleaned up although requested of the technician and Hoffmann Brother's management team. Yesterday she thought her furnace was not working (she had the thermostat turned in the wrong direction) and we called and then cancelled the same day a service call that would have been for today. At approximately 10:27AM today, I received a call that they would no longer be able to service her home because of the boiler incident. On behalf of this wonderful 82 year-old homeowner, I plan to file a lawsuit to seek reimbursement for the worked performed as the warranty is now void due to their opted in inability to comply with the terms therein and for other damages including cleanup.

We started having problems with roots in our sewer lateral in January . After we had the line cabled out twice in four months, it was apparent that we needed sewer lining as a long-term solution. We got several bids, and Hoffmann Brothers was the lowest. We gave them the job, and we were glad that we did. This was a major home improvement project, and there were bound to be unforeseen technical problems. Every time Hoffmann Brothers encountered a problem, they were able to come up with an alternative solution. They refused to give up and told me that their ultimate goal was the satisfaction of the customer. And they achieved that goal after a long, difficult struggle. Without exception, their employees were experienced, knowledgeable, and professional. They presented a clean-cut appearance and were polite and friendly. They remained optimistic in spite of the hurdles the project presented. Special kudos to ***, the Field Operations Manager in charge of the project, who rose to every occasion and led the crews and us through the maze of obstacles with his encouragement and expertise.

Where to begin. All I can really say is EXCEPTIONAL. I have been with Hoffman Brothers for at least 10 years I think and that is because they are truly one of the outstanding companies I have worked with. Beginning with the individuals who answer the phone (even at 2:30 in the morning), through the service technicians, managers and customer service representatives, each person is professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. Most recently we had several odd things that occurred with our AC system over a matter of 3 weeks. This company works from solution forward perspective and took the time to really listen to my questions and offer suggestions to make sure all of my concerns were addressed and I was not left hanging. As going into the specifics of what occurred would probably bore the reader, I wanted to give shout outs to those individuals that really represented what customer service means, something which seems to be lacking in a lot of industries today: Justin B, original call technician, Michael K, second call technician, Domanic M who assisted with a work around, Domanic M and Scott M who completed the final repairs, Brian B who provided a system evaluation and above all Bryan J who quarterbacked and was a pivotal point in understanding the full scope of my concerns and bringing ideas to the table that kept me up and going. Job well done to everyone who helped me and to Hoffmann Brothers. Keep up the good work.

I have been a home owner for over 40 years. On top of that, with today's technology it is pretty simple to evaluate a problem. With all of this, I easily surmised I needed a new garbage disposal. I called Hoffmann Brothers, told them what I was experiencing and it was agreed I needed a new garbage disposal so we set a date for the replacement. They called me a few days later and said they had an opening and they could come earlier. 'Great', I thought. I reiterated to the caller that my garbage disposal is being replaced and wanted to be certain they would have one on the truck. I was told they would and if I wanted a different one, they could get it. Later, a young technician came to my home, took a very quick glance at the disposal but did not turn it on or ask any questions. He proceeded to talk about the three different disposals he could offer me. I casually and quickly chose the middle of the three. At that time, I asked how long it would take and the cost. He said it would take about a half an hour and then started working up the cost. He replied, 'the total cost would be $750". $750 TO REPLACE A GARBAGE DISPOSAL!?! I was stunned. I questioned the cost and he proceeded to tell me he'd have to use Uber to get the disposal, which cost $200, and their expertise was added in the cost. In other words, labor for a half an hour, was around $500. I told him 'that's crazy!' I know enough to realize replacing a garbage disposal is not a difficult thing to do'. He said fine, but he would still have to charge $75 for evaluating the situation. Evaluate the situation? I told Hoffmann Brothers what I wanted from the get-go. This technician obviously thought he could take advantage of my casualness and charge me an outrageous fee. What a scam. When I said I would not pay the $75 evaluation charge, he told me the office would be calling me. They never did. Obviously, they don't want to talk about their questionable fees. The warning is - be careful of companies who, during this time of COVID and uncertainty, may try and take advantage of you. Shame on Hoffmann Brothers.

I was a member of the home maintenance program
I was a member of the home maintenance program. I called for a plumber for the shower and hot water handle shut off to the sink in my master bathroom. I was told to replace the shower would be $1300, to repair $548 if the parts could be found. The parts could not be found. S o I opted not to have the shower fixed. When the plumber was done he sent an email invoice that stated he replaced 2 30 inch water lines and the amount was $0.00. 2 days later I was looking at my bank account and Hoffman brothers charged my bank account $568, without my knowledge. When I call, I spoke to Ross. He stated that I was billed wrong and the amount should have been $399, so he would refund me 169. I do not understand why 2 lines had to be replaced for 1 handle and he never stated that he was changing them. My invoice say 0.00. I still do not have an invoice for the 399. They should not be allowed to just charge my account at their will without my knowledge, especially when the invoice they sent me said $0.
