Date 01/22 House was not finished as contracted
Date 01/22 House was not finished as contracted. Repairs were not finished. Can't contact anyone about these issues. A new house that looks so bad, ashamed to show it to anyone.
I bought a new house in August from Custom builders LLC
I bought a new house in August from Custom builders LLC. It was made by home Building systems LLC in Robins, NC. The house has a lot of problems. There are many cuts in the flooring, a wrong size air vent in the floor, a damaged air intake vent in the wall, flickering lights, leaking plumbing, and several cabinet doors in the kitchen that don't close properly. The temporary fix for the wrong counter tops is not good enough and it's falling apart. I was given *** as the person to contact at Home Building Systems. He's supposed to be the service manager, but he doesn't answer my calls and doesn't call me back anymore. This is not acceptable and I won't tolerate it. HBS sent a couple of workers to finish my punch list, but it's still not done
HBS sent a couple of workers to finish my punch list, but it's still not done. The last worker was supposed to replace a countertop, but they cut it in half and didn't level the seam. They messed up my walls and cabinets, which I just paid a lot of money for. They also replaced the island countertop, but there are visible nail holes. I contacted HBS on May 31st, 2022 and talked to ***. She said on June 6th, 2022 that she's working on getting everything together and will send someone to fix it all. I emailed on Aug 8th, 2022 and Aug 11th, 2022 for an update, but got no response. I also called *** in September, but they never called me back.

So I bought an HBS home from a builder on September 9, 2022
So I bought an HBS home from a builder on September 9, 2022. After buying it, we found a bunch of problems! The shower wasn't caulked or sealed, there were no pee traps on any drains, the breakers kept tripping (one ceiling fan stopped working and they replaced it, but now another one is doing the same thing and they haven't helped yet), the toilet seat snapped in half, and the molding in the kitchen has completely separated from the ceiling all around the house. This has been an ongoing problem since I bought the home. The person in charge has been avoiding my calls and emails. I filled out a warranty form when I bought the home, but when I call HSB, they say I need to get the builder I bought from to call or email. Then, as you can see in the email traffic this week, HSB doesn't seem to care about getting anything repaired or fixed. They basically told me that Lowe's sells everything I need! I wonder if the President of HSB is aware of or involved in how customers are being treated by the front office of his company?
HBS has been doing a terrible job on our home when they do show up
HBS has been doing a terrible job on our home when they do show up. This has been a very long drawn-out process that seems to be never-ending. I say that because they have sent 3 different people out to finish our home and it still looks no different. The first guy we fired because he was never at work and showed a lack of workmanship while doing a very messy job. The second guy they sent out worked for a few days and was supposed to be finished on Friday the 15th but never came back and we couldn't contact him. HBS said they couldn't contact him either. The few days he worked, he accomplished nothing but putting mud on our walls and making an even bigger mess. Today, a third guy showed up and was overwhelmed by how our house looked. He said, "they messed up your house." He tried to leave and say he was done, but after looking closely, he's definitely not finished. He said that HBS didn't tell him how much work needed to be done in our home. So here we are again, wasting another day with no work done. And let's not forget about the poorly done tile work and damaged flooring. We've tried calling *** from HBS, but haven't had any luck. *** works for HBS.
I bought my house from HBS less than a year ago in a small town in NC
I bought my house from HBS less than a year ago in a small town in NC. They assured me of a warranty similar to their other homes. I noted immediate repair needs, which they agreed to address. HBS sent contractors who fixed everything but the plumbing, promising to send a plumber later. However, they worsened the subflooring, and issues like rusted sinks and cracked walls persisted. HBS acknowledged their mistakes in summer 2022 and attempted repairs, which were inadequate. A year later, the problems have escalated. After a period of silence from HBS, my parents, facing similar issues, lodged a ComplaintsBoard.com complaint. HBS then vowed to rectify the defects in both properties upon complaint withdrawal. Despite assurances, HBS's recent factory incident has led them to renege on their promises. Having invested over $200K, I'm left with a structurally compromised home, which is distressing. Sincerely, a concerned homeowner
No comunication about the house we bought from them
No comunication about the house we bought from them. We still haven't got these issues fixed and we've been trying to contact them for 6 months. We bought a house from them and when it arrived, we told them that the sink they promised us wasn't what we got. We went back and forth with them for 6 months about this, even talking to the owner of the company a few times. HBS was supposed to come today to finally change the sink/counter (because the counters weren't cut right for the sink we wanted from the start). We just left our house and they tried to cut the current counter to make the sink fit and then hid the proof in the box with the new sink. We've been dealing with this company for a total of 6 months now and still have nothing to show for it. Also, we had our final inspection today and failed because there were plumbing issues that HBS did during the making of this house. For a company that's been around for years, this shouldn't have happened. I get that things happen, but there should've been a final inspection of the house before it was delivered so these issues don't happen. Customer service is a joke with this company. I don't get how they're still in business if it took them 6 months to fix a sink that they promised us in the first place. Sounds like they were trying to make it sound good so we would choose their company. I can honestly say I wish I never used this company and I urge anyone looking for a house to think twice before picking them.
