I have attempted to use this company for service twice and was denied service. When AC was not working in August, they wanted me to wait 2 weeks for service. I talked with them about finding someone on my own, then they promised a partial refund that I never got. Now my heat is out in January, they sent someone out the next day, that refused to put the covered freon but still wanted his fee. He then texted me and wanted me to hire him outside of the warranty and pay him over $7,000. HWA quickly canceled the work order so that I again could not be refunded. I had a friend who referred me to someone outside of using warranty and had heat the same day for $360. So I am out over $1000.to sign on and very unhappy.
Recommendation: Good luck
In 2018, HWA had a furnace installed in my home by an HVAC company they contracted with. This led to major issues requiring expensive repairs. Despite paying deductibles for years to address these issues, I reported the problem again in 2024. An HVAC technician, contracted through HWA, determined that the furnace was improperly installed and needed to be replaced.
When I submitted the claim, HWA informed me that my policy would not cover the repairs because the company had changed ownership. All prior claims repaired by HWA were voided, despite the name remaining the same. I was not notified of this change, which is unacceptable.
I was advised to write to the corporate office after speaking with Andrea M. When she received a reply back from the HVAC tech, the repair was estimated to cost $5000. My claim was rejected, offering me only a goodwill gesture of $600, despite paying for the service for 8 years. After checking on my letter, I was told on 1/7/25 that a letter to the corporate office is only for feedback. This company is a joke. I still have not received a reply from the corporate office, so I am left with no heat and no resolution.
I have all receipts for every repair and submitted them to HWA, but they claimed to have no record. It feels like I was just giving my money away. HWA leaves me no option but to take the $600. Why have a corporate office if it's only for feedback?
If the corporate office is reading this review, you should be ashamed of yourself! While Andrea is living in Florida, I am having to run heaters in single-digit weather.
