This is a really good organization!
This is a really good organization! They are super responsive. Meds can be delivered on the same day. A nurse comes by every week. A social worker comes every few weeks. A chaplain comes when you ask for one.

Hospice of the Valley went above and beyond answering my calls/questions anytime day/night and the RNs genuinely cared for our dad, keeping him comfortable with durable medical equipment and medication up to his final hour. I will certainly request Hospice of the Valley again in the future for any of my loved ones. May God Bless Hospice of the Valley for the work that they do for our community. - ***.
I seen and experienced the best, most caring response and service from the nurses at HOV
I seen and experienced the best, most caring response and service from the nurses at HOV. Sara S who does the admitting assessment is so kind and thorough and Jodi P who sees those receiving services is the best. Both of these nurses go way beyond what I would expect. I have the privilege of managing a retirement community and when we think a family may need Hospice services we will always recommend HOV.
My mom got great care from Hospice of the Valley
My mom got great care from Hospice of the Valley. She was in a group home and a Hospice nurse came every week. If I wasn't there, they'd call me after the visit. They always knew what they were doing and acted professional. They gave her medicine when she needed it and answered my questions when I called for advice. The doctor was there when we needed them. My mom's care was good and I trust Hospice of the Valley with my family.
My wife passed peacefully at Hospice of the Valley in Scottsdale, AZ
My wife passed peacefully at Hospice of the Valley in Scottsdale, AZ. I can't express enough how grateful I am for the support we received from their amazing staff during this tough time. The nurses, doctors, social worker, and chaplain at HOV made sure she was comfortable throughout her care. They were always available for our family. The place where she passed, called Eckstein Center, holds a special place in my heart.
Hospice of the Valley was always there when we needed them
Hospice of the Valley was always there when we needed them. They were kind and helpful during our time of need and guided us through the difficult process of grieving. They took care of my dad, father-in-law, and mother-in-law and told us to be there as family, not just caregivers. We also used their counseling and support groups to cope with our sadness. Losing a loved one is tough, but Hospice of the Valley helped us get through it.
Hospice of the Valley was truly a godsend to our family
Hospice of the Valley was truly a godsend to our family. Thanks to their tireless efforts, my mother was able to spend her last days comfortably in her own place, surrounded by familiar things. Hospice met all of her needs, whether it was medical equipment or visits by doctors and nurses. They always emphasized that they were available day or night, weekday or weekend, and that we should never be reluctant to reach out. If I could give more than five stars for this review, I would. Hospice of the Valley is the gold standard for end-of-life care. We are fortunate they are a part of this community.
When me and my hubby decided we couldn't take care of my bro no more, I thought the best thing I could do for him was to find a different place
When me and my hubby decided we couldn't take care of my bro no more, I thought the best thing I could do for him was to find a different place where the awesome HOV team could keep looking after him. They've always gone out of their way to give him good medical care, comfort, and safety, and to help with his big anxiety. And on top of that, they took his love for art seriously and helped him make sure his work would be taken care of like he wanted. I can't even say how much I still appreciate their support and professionalism as we keep going down this tough road together. I'll be thankful forever.
We been gettin hospice care in our assisted livin home for some of our peeps who got sick or moved to a new stage
We been gettin hospice care in our assisted livin home for some of our peeps who got sick or moved to a new stage. Our peeps, they fams and the staff been gettin a lot of help from the skilled weekly care from the nice RN, Gina Day. She take good care of our peeps, makin sure they comfy and checkin on their pain regular. If they hurtin, she do somethin about it right away. She keep an eye on their stress too, so they can have a peaceful time. The fams of our peeps get reports and know they gettin the best care when they need it. And cuz of the hospice care, our staff know what to do to make our peeps comfy. HOV been real supportive and always there when we need 'em.
My father went into HOV care in October at my stepmother's request
My father went into HOV care in October at my stepmother's request. I'm his 68-year-old daughter. When the HOV nurse first came, my father was talkative and wanted ice cream. He had just told me how proud he was of me. He had stomach cancer that had spread. While talking with my stepmother, the nurse said she saw a person in pain, without examining anyone. We had been managing my dad's pain with medical marijuana, under his doctor's care, because he wanted to stay alert. Within 2 hours, a hospital bed and liquid morphine arrived. They didn't explain anything and gave my dad the morphine, which made him fall asleep and never wake up or communicate with us again. He passed away 3 days later on 10/8. I'm still angry with HOV for what I think was unprofessional and careless use of the morphine. They took away 3 days with my dad. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
My dad was the nicest, most gentle man I ever met
My dad was the nicest, most gentle man I ever met. Everyone said so. He was quiet, but had this air of authority. The day I found out he was dying was the worst day ever. I knew about hospice 'cause my mom got sick about a year ago, so I knew what they were about. But it wasn't until my dad went to Sherman House that I really got it. He was only awake for one day after he got there. His room was so nice, with views of the desert and beautiful sunsets. It made everything feel calm and peaceful. The nurses and doctors were really nice and caring. When he slipped into a coma, they took good care of him and made sure he was warm with a cozy fur blanket 'cause he hated the cold. We had essential oils, candles, and anything we needed to help him go the way he wanted. He looked so majestic and peaceful, and that's how I'll always remember him. I never thought the day he died would be filled with love, peace, and serenity, but Hospice of the Valley made that happen for me and my family. In a crazy world where end of life care can be overwhelming, cold, and scary, Hospice of the Valley lets your loved ones go with dignity and respect - it's a priceless gift.
