Not everyone has to pay interest!!!
I have had account with Access One since 2014. I had surgery and ended up with a little over $5,000 in hospital bills. The hospital only allowed 90 days to pay balance before turning it over to collections. (If I had that much money laying around, I wouldn't need insurance, I could just pay cash for my medical bills,). Anyway, the hospital billing department offered to set up an Access One account to pay the bill off. Well, they offered me an interest free account as long as it was paid off in one year. Does everybody think I'm made of money? I come from one of the poorest counties in NC. Unfortunately, my family never schooled me on not working and living on welfare and Medicaid, so I have never been able to get anything for free. Sorry, I keep drifting off course. Well, in 2020, I finally had it paid down to less a $1,000 and needed a CT scan. That ended up costing me another $3,400! So here we go again! In the meantime, I found out from a close friend that she had a bill from Chapel Hill that was turned over to Access One with NO INTEREST and fixed monthly payments until the balance was paid. Not even late fees either. I contacted them to ask if I could get no interest and was told I was only offered no interest if paid in 12 months. I have now been paying them for nine years and I have paid a whopping $2,391.66 in interest! They should be fined! This is not low interest: it's loan sharking!
Recommendation: Try another route!

AccessOne MedCard, Inc
AccessOne MedCard, Inc. is a great company that offers valuable services. My mom is 98 years old and I believe she shouldn't have to pay for medical expenses. It would be helpful if she had supplemental insurance to cover these costs. I kindly request that AccessOne MedCard, Inc. looks into this matter. By the way, her birthday is on October 8th. If you need to contact me, my phone number is ***.
I can't believe that AccessOne has decided to charge me interest on my medical bills
I can't believe that AccessOne has decided to charge me interest on my medical bills. They're asking for a finance charge of $11.44 and an APR of 9.25%. I don't get how they can get away with charging interest and finance fees on medical bills. It's already tough for me to handle my bills after my spinal surgery, and now they're just taking advantage of me. I've never heard of any company that profits from people's suffering and exploits them financially.
AccessOne is charging me a late payment fee and $30 worth of interest
AccessOne is charging me a late payment fee and $30 worth of interest. I paid my *** ($25 payment) on September 23rd with proof on the *** and website - the *** isn't due until September 28th. The payment plan was also advertised by Atrium health as interest-free but I cannot afford the options. I'm now on *** and unemployed. I want the bills out of AccessOne's hands and back to Atrium health. Just because I didn't pay their ridiculous anouth, I still paid - and should have only been charged interest. Although that was also a false claim made by this business. I want a lower payment given the circumstances, an adjustment to the late fee (taken off), and no interest as advertised.

This company is involved in shady stuff
This company is involved in shady stuff. I joined them to cover a $2500 surgery payment. But they keep adding new charges to my account without telling me or asking for my permission. They say the provider who bills me has my approval, but the provider says they don't need approval and can bill whatever they want on this credit account whenever they feel like it. The creditor has no clue if the bill is right or if I even received the service. They never send me a bill. It's like paying my doctor with a regular credit card and then they keep charging that card whenever they want, for whatever they feel like. That's straight-up fraud!
So, I had to go to the hospital 'cause my stomach was hurting real bad
So, I had to go to the hospital 'cause my stomach was hurting real bad. I stayed there for a whole day, and guess what? The bill was like over $5,000! My insurance covered most of it, but I still had to pay $350. Then, they offered me this thing called AccessOne MedCard, Inc. with 0% interest. I was like, why not? Zero interest sounds good to me! So, I set up auto pay and totally forgot about it.
But you won't believe what happened next! Those sneaky folks at AccessOne went ahead and canceled my auto pay without even asking me! And to make matters worse, they were charging me interest the whole time! Can you believe it? I talked to this representative, and let me tell you, they were so rude! They didn't even wanna fix the problem. So, I just paid off the whole balance 'cause I didn't wanna deal with them ever again.
But get this, they still managed to squeeze out at least $100 from me in late fees (even though I set up auto pay, can you believe it?) and interest. These guys are nothing but sharks and scammers, I tell ya! Stay away from 'em, folks. I want my extra money back, you know? I should've only paid what I owed to the hospital.
I never heard of AccessOne before, and suddenly bills started showing up
I never heard of AccessOne before, and suddenly bills started showing up. At first, I thought it might be some kind of scam because nobody in my house knew anything about AccessOne. It seems that when my father was having trouble eating and drinking due to a swallowing problem and was in the hospital, someone must have signed him up for this service. As his caretaker and power of attorney, nobody even bothered to ask me about it. I don't agree with their terms and services at all. My father was not in a mental state to sign anything himself. I've been trying to contact the company to dispute these charges, but the phone numbers don't seem to work. Since I'm the one who pays my father's bills, I'm expected to pay interest to AccessOne for medical bills that I never agreed to in the first place. It's not fair because my father was in a malnourished state in the hospital and couldn't have legally signed up for anything himself. How can I cancel this service and continue paying the hospital?
During the covid-19 pandemic of June or July , I got a statement from Atrium Hospital about a surgery I had in May
During the covid-19 pandemic of June or July , I got a statement from Atrium Hospital about a surgery I had in May . I already had an account with AccessOne for my procedures with Atrium, but this was an extra bill trying to get payment for my procedure. However, there were disputes and mistakes from their billing department that weren't done during my procedure. My insurance company, CIGNA, told me they would talk to the Atrium Billing department about the mistakes on this bill. While waiting for the actual agreement I would be responsible for, I contacted AccessOne to add this bill to my current account. They told me I had to wait until I received an actual bill at my home address from Atrium. When I got this bill, I tried again, following the letter from Atrium's billing department.
AccessOne MedCard, Inc
AccessOne MedCard, Inc. is a company that uses some questionable methods to collect payments from customers. They don't seem to provide any alternatives other than insisting on payment. I've reached out to them several times in the past few months, speaking with different people each time, to explain that I can't afford the monthly payment of $92.92 towards my balance of $9,228.95. However, they always respond with the same answer: "pay your bill." They even claimed that I'm already on the lowest payment plan, but I strongly believe that's a complete falsehood! They warned me that if I don't pay, my account will be returned to Atrium Health. And we all know what that means - my account will eventually be sent to collections because Atrium Health, just like AccessOne, doesn't offer any other options to customers! I want to make it clear that I'm not trying to avoid paying my bill. I just find AccessOne's customer service tactics to be completely unaware of the situation, especially considering the challenges posed by COVID-19.
Cant reach business: I had an account with AccessOne before
Cant reach business: I had an account with AccessOne before. Got a new account now. Wanna log in their website, myaccessone.com. But I forgot my password. Clicked on "forgot my password" link. Got an email with a link to reset password. The link takes me to login page - no password reset happened. Called the number they advertise a lot. It's ***. Chose option 5, tech support. Heard a recorded message bout a 3 hour event on Nov 16. Got disconnected automatically. Called again, chose option 4, talk to a customer advocate. Same support message as option 5 played and got disconnected again. Can't log in coz the password reset link is broken. Can't reset password by phone coz only options that don't seem automated are 4 (talk to customer advocate) and 5 (tech support). They don't work. Can't see my account online. Help pls. Thanks.
They keep chargng me late fees, even though the payment comes out of my checking account on the 4th of every month
They keep chargng me late fees, even though the payment comes out of my checking account on the 4th of every month. If ACCESS ONE takes a week, or two weeks to process my payment, that is THEIR fault, not mine! I believe they are trying to create an excuse to charge me interest. I pay my all of my bills (mortgage, HOA, gas, electric, internet, etc) in this same manner and have never had a problem with any other company. This is the only one that consistently accuses me of paying late. I want the late fees refunded and a note placed on my account to never charge me another late fee! I wasted way too much time on the phone trying to get this resolved. They refunded one or two fees, but refuse to refund the latest that they added. Again - I can provide proof that it comes out on the 4th of every month. Sometimes ACCESS ONE processes it a few days later, sometimes a couple weeks. They need to stop charging me for their incompetency. Additionally, they call their phone employees "patient advocates". This is deceptive and untrue. They need to call them what they are - ACCESS ONE representatives. They work for the interests of ACCESS ONE - not me!
In January 2022, I had carpel tunnel surgery and the bill was financed through AccessOne
In January 2022, I had carpel tunnel surgery and the bill was financed through AccessOne. The bill came out to be $3,355.33. Before my first payment was due to AccessOne, *** Blue Shield made a change to increase the amount by $515.28 on May 11, 2022. This made the total bill $3,870.61. However, on June 7, 2022, *** Blue Shield took back that change and reduced the amount I owed back to $3,355.33. AccessOne never adjusted my bill back to $3,355.33. In July, we contacted them before our first payment was due on August 4, 2022, and they said it would take about 4 more weeks for the adjustment to show up on AccessOne. But even after making the first payment and waiting for another month, AccessOne still hasn't corrected our bill to the right amount, which should now be $3,097.29 after our $258.04 payment on July 31, 2022. *** Blue Shield fixed their mistake on June 7, 2022. Atrium Health sent the corrected total owed amount of $3,355.33 to AccessOne over 2 months ago. AccessOne knows that they are overcharging us by $515.28 and they are not fixing the bill to the correct amount.
My husband got sick with COVID and got out on Sept
My husband got sick with COVID and got out on Sept. 5. The medical bills started coming in. He still can't go back to work and I'm a homemaker, so we want to pay, but we can't right now. I reached out to AccessOne with the plan they sent me. The lady told me to wait as long as I could to activate the account. She said I wouldn't have to make a payment until late December/January. So we waited, hoping he'd be back to work by then so we could start paying. We WANT to pay this ***, but with him still out of work and the doctor not releasing him, we're stuck. But now they're saying our first payment is due on November 30! What? That's less than a month away. There's just no way. I contacted them and explained the situation, told them we were told our payment wouldn't start until late Dec/Jan, and asked if we could move the payment. They said no. They said it would default to interest, we'd get a late fee, and they would send it back to the hospital. They said there's nothing they can do. I feel like they lied to us about when our payments would start. We're a family trying to do the right thing and pay our ***, but we can't until my husband goes back to work. I feel like they misled us and don't want to help. We're stuck.
I haven't received any bills yet, but they're charging me interest and fees for not paying on time
I haven't received any bills yet, but they're charging me interest and fees for not paying on time. It's not fair because I didn't even know about this service before and I feel like I was forced to use it. I haven't gotten a bill for the past few months, even though I always pay my bills on time and didn't sign up for paperless statements. They didn't tell me about the interest and fees until after they charged me, and I never received a bill. When I called them, they told me about their website but didn't mention the extra charges, so I couldn't dispute them. I want another option to pay my medical bills instead of AccessOne. I've never had any problems before and it's not right to add interest and fees on top of medical bills. I also want a refund of the extra charges and interest, which amount to over $11, because I haven't been getting my bills in the mail and I didn't sign up for paperless billing. They never informed me about this. I paid in full yesterday and I don't want to pay any membership or yearly fees, or any other charges of $10, when I don't receive their bills in the mail. It's causing me to have unfair interest charges. This service isn't working for me and I need another option to pay my medical bills so I can stay financially informed and continue using my healthcare and going to doctor appointments like normal.
Customer service don't return calls, and hasn't credited my account for a payment I sent
Customer service don't return calls, and hasn't credited my account for a payment I sent. I made a payment with AccessOne on 4/28 through my bank for $113.48, which cleared on 5/6. I emailed a supervisor on 8/2 to verify this. I've contacted AccessOne many times and they promised to call me back and fix the problem, but they haven't. I reached out to Atrium Health financing department for help. They said I could transfer the account to them, but I need to resolve the disputed amount first. All I want is credit for the amount I sent to AccessOne and the check cleared my bank. I have proof of several issues with my account, like a missing payment that never cleared my bank, a payment rejected by AccessOne even though my bank confirmed everything was correct on the check (including the address and account number), and mistakes made by AccessOne resulting in debits and credits on my account. They charged me service fees and interest, but I got them removed by being persistent. I have a list of the many representatives I've spoken to and I've spent hours trying to fix this. I've also searched the internet for another contact number, but couldn't find one. Atrium Health promotes this financing company, but they're not helpful either. I've tried everything to resolve this problem and get credit for my payment.
