Intoxalock review: Ghost running test

This past Friday, I left work and went directly to the grocery store. I got out of my car after I sat in my car for one minute, looking for my purse in the backseat and continued into the grocery store when I returned to the car after shopping, I noticed that my device said I had a three time Violation and I was in lockout. I called Intoxalock where The woman on the other line continued to tell me that it was a valid lockout. I explained to her time and time again that the device did not go off while I was in the car and randomly went off on its own that I’ve had the device about a year now and have never experienced this. She refused to listen and told me to go to a lockout station and get it unlocked. Unfortunately, it was now Friday night. My lockout station was closed and I had to find a random one somewhere local. She also explained to me that I could have the charges removed after I did that as they were charging me $75 plus all these random fees so I did exactly what she told me to do, called the next day and I’m guessing that they had a note in my account because the guy pretended to go and put me on hold and check my account and came back 60 seconds later to tell me that the lockout was valid so now I have to pay $150 tomorrow which I do not have in my account this place is a sham and the customer service is terrible. They have people working there that sound like they’re in India and just look down on the people using the service for whatever reason because they do not understand addiction and there was a huge stigma. I have been in recovery for six years now I work in recovery as a substance use disorder therapist and I’m appalled. By the way I was treated. This company should be ashamed of itself, hiring people that are not educated on the subject of substance use disorder. They also need to fix their machines there is a huge lawsuit going on about these machines that have never been updated in the past 20 years and they consistently have the same issues. People consistently report the same problems over and over again and they don’t change it because it’s a big money making situation for them. Despicable.
