My husband went to get his belongings after waiting WEEKS for them to call him back with an appointment and him calling constantly no one answered. The yard is in Midway, Ky. He went today 3/4/24 to pick up our belongings from in the truck and they ONLY gave him the items in the glove box. That vehicle was packed FULL of personal belongings. They stole my...

Is United Auto Recovery Legit?

United Auto Recovery earns a trustworthiness rating of 91%

Highly recommended, but caution will not hurt.

Our conclusion: After a detailed review, ComplaintsBoard finds United Auto Recovery to be a trustworthy company. Although there's a 7% resolution rate for customer complaints, which deserves attention, United Auto Recovery is known for their high standards and safety. If you're thinking about dealing with United Auto Recovery, it's wise to check how they handle complaints.

United Auto Recovery has registered the domain name for unitedautorecovery.com for more than one year, which may indicate stability and longevity.

Unitedautorecovery.com has a valid SSL certificate, which indicates that the website is secure and trustworthy. Look for the padlock icon in the browser and the "https" prefix in the URL to confirm that the website is using SSL.

Unitedautorecovery.com you are considering visiting, which is associated with United Auto Recovery, is very old. Longevity often suggests that a website has consistently provided valuable content, products, or services over the years and has maintained a stable user base and a sustained online presence. This could be an indication of a very positive reputation.

However ComplaintsBoard has detected that:

  • While United Auto Recovery has a high level of trust, our investigation has revealed that the company's complaint resolution process is inadequate and ineffective. As a result, only 7% of 13 complaints are resolved. The support team may have poor customer service skills, lack of training, or not be well-equipped to handle customer complaints.
  • United Auto Recovery's website has revealed that it is not properly optimized for search engines. This could be a red flag indicating that the company is attempting to hide its activities from the public.
  • Unitedautorecovery.com has relatively low traffic compared to other websites, it could be due to a niche focus, but could also indicate a potential lack of traffic and popularity. The unitedautorecovery.com may offer a niche product or service that is only of interest to a smaller audience.
  • United Auto Recovery protects their ownership data, a common and legal practice. However, from our perspective, this lack of transparency can impede trust and accountability, which are essential for establishing a credible and respected business entity.

United Auto Recovery auto repossession

They snook out in the middle of the night and towed my car without my knowledge. They were so quiet they didn't even wake my dogs. They didn't notify me in anyway. When I finally found them with an appointment they wouldn't let me get my stuff out of the car until they brought it up to the inside of the gate. They gave me no paperwork proving they could get it. My car is paid in full and I told the woman that and she laughed and said you will have to contact the bank of wells fargo which by the way has numerous law suites against them for illegally repo cars. I notice my back bumper was damaged. My dash camera was broken and the sim car missing. When I told her no one saw or heard her she laughed and said we are that good. She said I had 13 days in which to repossess the car which would sold at private auction either in ky or wv, I finally found it in Memphis Tn at their auction site to be sold by July 15th. I had the car listed as stolen when I noticed it first missing. I could tell my billfold had being gone thru and money missing. They were by law suppose to know on my door with the proper paperwork and documentation. As well as a deputy with them.

Desired outcome: My car back and the damaged repaired at their expense and my money replaced

United Auto Recovery Getting my personal belongings out of my vehicle and getting told of no fees then $700 to pay to get your vehicle

My name is Genesis Butler. My car was repossessed to this terrible most ridiculous company ever. I had to fight with them just to get my possessions out of it. I had asked them several times even after paying to possessions fee of $25 to get my items which included a child from state custody carseat and I specifically asked if there were going to be any fees when I pick it up. They refused to tell me where it was or give it back. They were endangering my daughter. Then I pay the finance company to get it back and now I try to set up an appointment and now they say there is a $700 redemption fee. That is the company's fee not my lender's. I had asked why I wasnt informed that there may be a fee there was no answer. I had spoken to Erica specifically 3 times about this. She refuses to answer any of my questions and work with the customer. All she did was ask for money. She is a money hungry person with no heart just like this company. You cannot recieve a straight answer on anything and then they tell you that you are being rude. I asked to speak the the supervisor ahead of and she refused to do so. I dont think she needs to be working there. She needs to find something that suits her better. If my vehicle is sold out from underneath due to that piece of crap company I will sue them and hopefully take everything that they have. I hope the company closes down soon because all they do is rip people off. I dont only lose my vehicle that I have owned for 4 years but I now have to start all over because people dont know how to tell the truth. If you want to run an honest company you need to be honest yourself.

I made appointment to get my property out of vehicle and somehow it was canceled. I called then they scheduled for the next day even though I told them my medication was in the vehicle. Then I told them I was gonna get vehicle in 2 days and they said I could not get my vehicle the same day because I needed to make appointment and can't be same day! My lender even called the lot to try to get access to my vehicle they are very shady and NOONE SHOULD TOUCH PROPERTY INSIDE ANYONES VEHICLE! Things happen and people come into rough times this company needs to review the way they handle things and start with not allowing grimy people go through peoples personal belongings unless they have no intention of getting there vehicles back! I will be calling police if one thing is missing from my property! I asked what do I do if something is missing or damaged they said call them not the police lmfao yeah right you didn't respect me I will not respect you or the rotten [censored] tow company you contracted to go through my belongings! They have no reason what so ever to go in anyone's vehicle unless its been there for more then 10 days! Again let me tell you capitol one was trying to get me to my belongings wich who hired these idiots so its not the finance company its the grimy united auto recovery!

We picked up our truck on June 7th and it had greasy spots on the seats, scratches on the door, and a dent in the bumper. I have tried to get a hold of someone to resolve this matter with no luck. I tried to attach pictures, but it says they are too large. I can email these instead when provided an email. They show the date to prove they were taken on June...

United Auto Recovery Illegal Practices

A United Auto Recovery agent knocked on my girlfriend's front door yesterday, 02/21/2016 and asked for me, he then told me he was looking for my Chevorlet 1500, in which I have the title. When he realized he was not getting the truck, he began to get agitated, in front of my children and the neighborhood kids. He verbally abused me, calling me names, swearing at me, told me i was going to jail, illuded to carrying weapons, and even threatened bodily harm against me. This was all in an effort to provoke a fist fight, in which he was not going to be granted the satisfaction. I have since realized that this agent of United Auto Recovery has, possibly through extremely poor training, broken several laws in my state, all of which prohibited by Alabama's reposession codes, and defined in criminal code. I hereby pleade that they change their practices, as they can and will cost their contracted employers a hefty amount in penalties and retribution for harrassing collections practices.

United Auto Recovery Shoddy Business Practices/Poor Service

My experience withe united auto recovery services has been notheing more thean unpleasant. It is unfortunate theat my spouse and I were greeted withe a series of circumstances and conditions theat crippled us financially. Needless to say we had critical decisions to make; car, mortgage, food or clothees and otheer essential items for our child so we had to choose thee obvious; and of course thee obvious happened (I ratheer thee car to be taken thean thee house for our son has special needs).
I don't have an issue withe thee fact theat some unidentified male withe a companion had been snooping around my property taking pictures 2 days prior to our vehicle being repossessed. I don't even have an issue withe thee fact theat theese same guys camped out in front of my drive way from thee time I noticed theem until I got tire of thee tow-truck eye sore sprouting from thee edge of my driveway. The problem I have is theat thee individual who signaled for his compadre to back thee tow truck up into my drive way provided me withe little, or better put inadequate, information. He showed me a piece of paper and stated his purpose for being in my drive way, which was to take our car and theat was it. I could not get a business card nor could I get his name. Every question I posed was met withe "ask your financial provider theey will give you all thee info you need". I mean REALLY!?!
In any event, to make a long story short we complied withe everytheing; we caught up on our payments, faxed theis document, and notarized theat document. Altheough everytheing was completed by thee 23rd and United Auto Recovery received thee letter of clearance on thee same date I was ping-balled from corporate office to a local facility and theen to anotheer local facility. Despite doing everytheing theat was asked of us we were unable to get thee vehicle before thee holiday weekend. We have four different numbers for United Auto Recovery and each one sent us to anotheer one which in turn ultimately we were sent back to our financial provider.
Today, we still do not have our vehicle. Today, no one can tell us if we will be responsible for 5 additional days of storage fees stacked on top of what we already owe theem. And today, we are told theat we cannot get our vehicle back until tomorrow which could possibly mean anotheer $25 tacked on thee top of thee total amount due. I do not know what thee total amount is because theey will not tell me. There logic is theat because my name is not on thee release form theey cannot discuss any details regarding thee vehicle even if it is my wife for whom I am speaking. We should not be held responsible for any fees from thee 23rd 'til thee 28the being theat we did everytheing we were supposed to do and I was continually met withe rudeness and service ineptitude. I am a reasonable man, I would not complain if theey stick us withe thee fee for Friday thee 23rd even theough thee company closes early and I had to go therough so many different channels to piece togetheer what was going on. But: to tell me theat it’s my fault and theat my vehicle will not be released, and to give me and my spouse a hard time because my name was not on thee letter of clearance, and to suck more money out of our household all thee while making me feel powerless in thee process is utterly distasteful.

Their business license should be pulled from all states. While I had fallen on hard times economically I do not have an issue with the repossession. The contract is a contract. But when I go to pick m y property up and you can not find it. When I make a claim and you deny it because you can’t prove the items were in the car, now I take issue. It was the companies responsibility to inventory the vehicle upon seizure which did not occur. It was your responsibility to secure my property for a reasonable determined amount of time is a safe and secure place that did not occur. And when you attempted to give me someone else’s items, then this tells me you failed on multiple levels. I’m thinking someone there took my property and tried to pawn someone else’s off thinking I wasn’t coming to pick it up. But to deny my claim due to your ur own incompetence and malfeasance, this is why we are going to court

Just want to tell you that I totally understand. Unfortunatley my boyfriend is going through the SAME thing... They took his truck, and we immediately scrounged up everything we had in all of our accounts combined to get the amount they needed to reverse the repossession. After the bank did their clearance (apparently), now we have a few numbers to United Auto Recovery and have left 10 messages for tina fisher... no reply. Hang in there... we will get through it eventually, but it is very wrong of a bank service provider to take advantage of those who are suffering from this terrible economic time. My bf was laid off after coming home and taking a job after serving in our military for 8 years. It was either pay his apartment or his truck... he was choosing to pay the apartment, in hopes that a job would surface before his truck was taken. I'm happy I am able to help him though. The only thing we can do for eachother in times when the banks/governement abuse the people of less fortune is stick together and help eachother through this however we can. Thanks for posting your story... I'm sorry that you're still struggling to get the vehicle back.

My soon to be son-In-Law has been on the phone several times, even after all money asked for was paid. They have given him the run around over and over. They have yet to get this resolved. After all they have been trying to get their car back for about a week!

While I totally agree with my car finance company should have repossessed my vehicle, because I am the one who fell behind in payments, I have something to say about United Auto Recovery. The company as a whole may be a honest one, but many of it's employees are thieves (as in stealing personal possessions out of the vehicles). If you should find your vehicle repossessed, and you should try to avoid the situation from arising in the first place, do not take UAR's word or sign any statement stating that "they did not go through" your vehicle before looking for yourself. Check that to be exactly the case before signing the agreement.
Granted that you've just had your car repossessed, have gone through huge expenses to satisfy the financier, and you finally get your vehicle. You're relieved just to have your vehicle back, and unless you realize something big, such as you stereo system is intact, you'll just pay the fees and drive away. Not until days later will you realize small things, expensive or not, are missing. The company should hold its drivers, lot attendants feet to the fire. Just because you have been given the authority to remove a vehicle DOES NOT give you the authority to pick through it and take anything you like. I am speaking directly about the United Auto Recovery Company outlet in Clarksville, TN. BC 06/07/2012.
