Intoxalock continues to bill me after device removal; Harassment
I had my Intoxalock interlock device legally removed from vehicle in Michigan on 3/27/23. I paid the $7 closing fee and YET, Intoxalock has continually tried to bill me for services! They do not acknowledge that the lease is OVER! and I have had to Freeze my Credit Card because they are Constantly trying to bill it! I have called numerous times to resolve this matter, but due to gross incompetence/negligence, they continue to ILLEGALLY BILL ME for services they don't provide.
I believe they have done this purposefully and by design. They are a criminal enterprise! They are literally incompetent and RUDE! I have contacted an attorney and really look forward to EXPOSING THEM IN COURT!
They are extremely rude and INCOMPETENT!
Desired outcome: Intoxalock will pay for this harassment and illegal billing! They MUST contact me directly to settle this matter! This is my correspondence with this piece of [censored] company because my attorney awaits their response:)

Several, especially the near impossibility of contracting or contacting customer service
The specific issue I have first, is that the handheld devices Intoxalock uses are unreliable. The alarm would go off sometimes at night when the car wasn't even on, waking up the entire block. One time I blew into the machine, passed the test, but I still couldn't start the car. I called them several times and they told me if I had done something wrong, I would have to pay for a tow and repair, but if not, I would be credited. I had not done anything wrong, the machine malfunctioned. I contacted them 3 times, and the last time they told me I would get a credit in 48 hours. It never happened.
Then, Intoxalock now has a customer service phone system in which there is no choice to ask to speak to customer service. It was not difficult to contact them before, but now it is nearly impossible. When contacting customer service, I was told repeatedly "don't worry, this is handled." It nearly never was. My service contract has ended, and yet I continued to be billed. When I called today it took me nearly an hour to get the contract closed. I finally had to speak to a manager who was very rude and told me that several conversations I had to have the device removed, could not have happened.
Desired outcome: I would like an apology, and also a reprimand that the company has such completely ineffective customer service.
Full refund for every penny spent with this company.
100% scam, do not get involved with this company. For 2 months I’ve had a device form them. 1st time they installed the wrong device and reported to the wrong state. That took a month to resolve. They pretended to fix the problem, changed the device (I paid for this with a promise they would send a check that was never sent) now they are not reporting to my home state. So for 2 months I’ve had and paid for a device I can not use, I would be 1/6 of the way through with this device, but now I still have my full time remaining because of these scammers.
Desired outcome: Device registered to Tennessee. First 2 months free for the 2 months I’ve had the device and unable to use it.
Billing
I was a client, they were fine until my sentence was over, then they tried to get me to sign a new contract (I didn’t sign) then gave me a run around for another 2-3 weeks. A month and a half later they are still billing me. I contacted my bank and then called intoxalock and asked them to stop billing me for roadside assistance. They told me that I needed to send them an email stating that my sentence was complete. I laughed at them and reminded them that they actually called me and congratulated me right after I had their equipment removed from my truck. They are scamming people and need to be stopped!
Desired outcome: Retro funds ,an apology , and to stop overcharging everyone.

My license has been suspended due to non compliance on an account you guys have open in my name that no longer exist! I got a new vehicle and had the new equipment installed and u we’re supposed to transfer my service but instead u made an additional account and ur system is showing that I’m not being compliant on my old non existent account and my license has now been suspended! I have called u guys about this numerous times, sent multiple emails and put in work orders and after being assured time and time again this would be resolved, it has not! Now I can not drive due to no fault of my own and u guys continue to charge me as well for two accounts when I only have one car!
Desired outcome: Fix the damn situation already so I can get my license back!!!

My name is Brandon thiever I have to comply with a d WI that I received in Michigan driving on an Arizona driver's license 3 years or more over I had to get rid of the car it would cost too much to fix it so I had to pay to have the intoxalock uninstalled at a normal service center provided by intoxalock and they are still billing my account even though the device has been taken away from the service center since April 14th and they continue to Bill my bank account and take money for device that I have no longer had how can I fix this I don't want to talk to another arabic speaking person that doesn't understand me and I cannot understand them.
Desired outcome: Return all the money to my bank account for Billings that occurred after the intoxalock was uninstalled and forfeited because the vehicle no longer exists and to stop the current billing immediately
Compliance department
I had the device installed 3/9/2022. It is 5/01/2022 and I am current on everything and have requested the electronic filing to penndot be submitted 9times. I am told 24 to 48 hours and it is never processed. I need a DL 21sc form electronically filed to get my license back and they will not send it. Penndot has not received anything from them it says on their website and when I signed up they would electronically notify penndot of the installation within 24 to 48 hours. I have paid in excess of $400 to them and called customer service 9 times and can't speak with a supervisor or get any help. I don't know what else to do. They sent me a form and told me to send it to penndot myself. I did that and it is not correct. It is the wrong form and it has to be submitted electronically. How do I resolve them when I keep getting the run around every single time I call. Please help.
Desired outcome: intoxalock to file the DL 21sc form that is req. I have been paying for 2 months. I should be given lease credit until they complete the paperwork which is stated on their website. Please file the DL 21sc asap
Exact same thing happened to me. I live in PA. Took 10 months for them to FINALLY submit the dl21-sc. The REDUSED to credit ANY MONEY. claimed that i was using the device, so the refund. THERE NEEDS TO BE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINSTS THESE MONSTERS!
Omg I had the same experience with them! HORRIBLE! I also live in Pa and it was so bad and I was treated terribly and given so much misinformation from Intoxalock that I had a direct contact person at PennDot to help me! I don’t know what I would’ve done without him! I’m on here complaining because I woke up to a call from a debt collector this morning looking for $200 for Intoxalock when my account was closed and paid in full, which I have proof of, and the device was removed from my car almost a year ago! Called Intoxalock today for help HA! And was told by this awful, rude man who wouldn’t give me his name to “trust him, it’ll all come out in the wash” and that yes I did pay the $200 but they didn’t apply it to what I paid it for (a car accident resulted in needing all new equipment even though it wasn’t damaged and even though I paid extra monthly for the protection plan) the $200 was for the deductible but they “let it ride” on my account as a credit and I didn’t make the last 2 monthly lease payments! Well that’s BULL because my account in their app says $0 balance and there’s all the transactions of my auto payments from beginning to end! I’m disputing it with the collection company and hope it gets resolved, if not and it goes on my credit I’ll dispute it with the credit bureaus. They should be banned from doing business, they’re fraudulent and unethical. So sorry for your bad experiences

I had their unit Installed In my blazer. Lost my job, my residence. niw homeless. they sent me a self addressed postage paid box for return of unit. I mailed it back. now, still unemployed, homeless, I get a bill for $900+ dollars for what? I was current on all fees, explained my situation to a person which was next to impossible to reach. They have no customer support to help or talk to. It's a cash cow like the methadone clinics. [censored]. I won't pay
Intoxalock
My device had an error lockout and after the big debate with customer on how your device errored out with no fault of mine, I was given a $75 credit. I was told it was a credit, then a payment was pulled from my account, okay maybe next payment will show the credit. NOPE, scheduled to take the next payment. Then when I question customer service, they first tell me it was valid, then after I pointed out the debate, they realized they did have an error on their part, they tell me they can't and that I need to go back to the service center for the credit. Then tell me I need to email them a copy of the receipt for review. Why do I have to do all this leg work for an error on your part? To me, this is just some way to take advantage of vulnerable people, that are already financially stressed and having a hard time. For the problems you put us through, no wonder people return to drinking because of the stress!

Interlock
Shady company. They signed me up for roadside assistance without my knowing. Had two instances where the device failed and left me stranded away from home. Called them to get help and the phone kept cutting out. They sent me the number for their roadside assistance so I called it. When you call, it makes you use a website to request service, which did not work and kept routing me back to the home page. Had to call outside towing company. Picked my car up from the install shop the next day and the same thing happened. They reimbursed me for one towing charge but not the other, and after trying to explain it to a person through email they sent me an automated email and when I called to try to figure it out, they just told me they can't open the file I sent with the towing receipt(even though I used the same method both times.) Getting the device removed was a hassle and ended up taking an extra month past my eligible date. After "closing my account" they kept charging me 4 dollars a month. When I called about it they said I have to close it through the roadside assistance company because they can't do it, yet sent me an email with instructions to email Intoxalock. Basically they will try to get as much as they can out of you as long as you can, even after your lease is over.
I have been going through a lot with this company as well. Many phone calls and complaints. First called Mandatory actions unit which led me to the bureau of automotive repair which can help you in the state of California or whichever state you are in. But because Intoxalock is located in Iowa, they told me to contact the attorney general out there. I have recently emailed them. Here is their website and the email they have on that site:

Not needing the device
I reside in California and this company resides in Des Moines, IA and I want to know how this company can bully someone into getting their device when the device is not need per the DMV. This device was installed for me in October of 2022 and I got into a car accident in Feb 2023. Per the DMV, I did not need this device because I was not eligible for it and this company called and mailed and harrassed me about getting this device because it was a "requirement" to get my license back which was a total lie!
I want all my money back for the installation, the lockout and the pain and aggravation this device caused. I need someone to contact me back and let me know how I can get this resolved or this company will be hearing from my lawyer.

I have been going through a lot with this company. Many calls that eventually pointed me to the attorney general in Iowa since that is where they are based. I had a complaint with the bureau of automotive repair which is what led me to the attorney general in Iowa. Hope this helps I just emailed them not to long ago so I'm hoping to hear back.

Customer service/ cold weather/ lockouts
I live in Wyoming and we had a very cold winter, like below zero weather many times this winter and every time it got below zero, I would plug the machine back in (after having it in the house to stay warm), try to blow in the machine and my breath would actually freeze as I am trying to blow into it so it would continually say blow harder (which is why the hot towel idea is CRAZY) I even dumped ice out of it after one of these times. I have spent hours and hours on the phone trying to get through to them about what happened and they keep saying it throws a battery code, well YES it does because it won't test my sample and it keeps saying blow harder, so I would unplug it warm it up again and try again and Even after putting a brand new battery in the truck, it would run my battery dead every time it would freeze up like that. I don't know why it throws a battery code but I do have a camera, you can review the camera to see that I am actually blowing into it. jWell tonight after talking to them again, the guy says, well you can take a hot towel outside and wrap it around the machine, what good would that do when you take a hot towel outside in 40 below zero temps, the wet hot towel is not going to be frozen as soon as you walk outside. I also just read on their website that in extreme cold temps, the machine and the camera can run the battery in the vehicle down in 2 hours, so if they know that then why am I getting charged a lockout fee every time it freezes. Oh and to make it worse, they charged me a lockout fee for the day jApril 7th when Intoxalock call center told me to unplug the battery several times because they could not get it reset from the last lockout which is why the vehicle sat for a while, because I got tired of being charged for something out of my control and after doing everything they told me to do during cold weather. Now I see there is a sleep mode you can put it in during cold weather so that it does not run the battery down in cold weather, however, no one has ever told me that even after all the phone calls. To make matters worse, I was approved for financial aid and no one has ever told me that I would have to pay for the lockouts, when its been ALL WEATHER related. I have never had any other lockouts. I will rip that machine out and go with a different company because it is absolutely ridiculous to have to have a hot towel with me so it does not freeze up when blowing into it or the battery being drained between the machine and the camera during those really cold nights and days, because I do work out in the cold also. They should write those charges off, if not for any other reason except that I am on the financial assistance program , so if my truck won't start, I cannot go to work, we don't live in an area that has public transportation or UBERS. I don't even make enough money to pay for one charge, let alone the 3 hundred and some odd dollars. There is no reason why I should have to pay any of those lockouts.
Desired outcome: I would appreciate it if Intoxalock could take those battery interruptions due to -40 degree weather and the lockouts from my account and credit me for those interruptions.

I mailed my letter on April 6 to IA addresses and also emailed it on Mar 24and I was suppose to be able get my license back on April 12 still waiting for compliance letter to penndot so I can get my license back and get this device removed now I'm stuck paying more money I do not have I did my 365 and more now can you please resolve this problem for me?

Roadside assistance and customer service
My truck broke down around 2:00 p.M. And I called roadside assistance with intoxalock. Ive been paying for the service for 2 years now haven't used it once it was also about 80°. I had an 8 year old with me and they said within 45 minutes a tow truck will be there. They asked where I wanted it towed I wanted it towed to my friends that was 15 miles from where it died they said that they do 10 miles for free so just pay an extra $5 and they would take it there I was then put on hold for 2 hours or more hung up a couple times they called back couldn't get through they didn't return my call finally I got through and then they proceeded to tell me that they're still working on my work order 2 hours later and then there was no driver but they told me to stay with my vehicle and tell the truck is there or they may not tow it or I risk the police taking it in the meantime and then paying a lot more money. I was in the middle of nowhere with my 8-year-old just got off school I had to call my mom who was at work she left to come and get me and my daughter. Me and my mother had to push my truck across the highway into a lot so the police didn't tow it I got back home around 5:36 p.M. After getting no help when I paid for the service for two plus years. The customer service you can barely understand and they get very rude with you they breathe heavy in the phone like they're annoyed I mean why have a service that you can't understand and that doesn't even help you. And after all this my mom had got a migraine headache.
Desired outcome: I want a full refund or I don't even want the service free for you I don't I absolutely don't want it you can't understand their English and they did nothing for me they didn't even apologize I would like a refund of my money!
Intoxalock rep and supervisor
This company claimed to be associated with the dmv and told me getting this device was just a part of the process even though it wasn’t court ordered I was on the list and it was mandatory from the dmv. Rep told me the judge didn’t have a say so in the fact that I needed this device. Sure enough about 300 dollars later I call the dmv to get said device registered they told me this company is known to lie and say that people had to get it. That is fraud when I called back to complain to a supervisor I got “kisha” on the phone she insisted I needed this device and that is was mandated by the state of nj and why would they know to send me the forms if I didn’t have to get the device. She also told me I had a balance just hours after paying everything and that if I didn’t pay it right away then I would be penalized and locked out of my vehicle. Sure enough I go to start my car and the device tells me I have three days to get it serviced. So I have accrued more charges and I potentially see this going on my credit if I don’t pay it. She also said I would not get my license back without said device

Failure reporting interlock calibration to MVD
They are frauds. They have failed to give full reports to the MVD. I have been trying for over two years to get my license after completing my “sentence” with them. They stopped reporting calibrations, and each person I speak with gives me different information. The ONE person I spoke with there that admitted that I was finished (I even have a document “Certificate of Intoxalock De-Installation”) cannot be located for contact. They will not share with me what they reported to the MVD either. So, as of now the only thing I can do is start another go ‘round. Two of the companies that did my calibration stopped using them because of their business model and sketchy practices and so I can’t get any records of previous service from them. I can’t afford to go through this again and I can’t afford a lawyer either. I wish I could afford to put up billboard signs all over the US begging people not to drink and drive, because if you don’t get in an accident and kill your self or someone else, Intoxalock will do it for you. If you can use a different company, please, for the love of all that is good and holy, do it!
I have punished/continue to punish myself. I am at a serious breaking point. These people continue to make life increasingly difficult. I paid my dues, I don’t drink anymore, and I still can’t go forward.

Horrible, disappointing painful company to deal with. I’ve had the same problem for ten weeks-they say it’s all set, wait 3-5 business days and the problem still sits there. Over 25 phone calls, multiple online requests numerous chats with a foreign call center-many failed attempts to actually talk to someone who works for them, nope. Based on my experience so far I would tell you to choose any other company

Interlock ignition device
To all concerned,
I am in the process of trying to get a class action lawsuit started for all those interested. I have had multiple false readings just like all over. I also have copd and gerd all of which i paid an "expert" $800 to put that in a report that still resulted in a 3 month interlock device. The gerd causes the false readings and lockouts.
Needless to say i am a month overdue in having the device removed. They keep saying dmv has to approve me but then dmv bounces it back to them. Which could only mean someone at dmv is getting paid to hold dl licenses hostage. I am in the state of NJ.
The company preys on our guilt and shame and fear of the courts and if we dont fight this tooth and nail they will continue to do this to thousands of people who wimply made a mistake and are not alcoholics who deserve this treatment.

Intoxilock locked my Interlock ignition device when I returned to the service center for my very first month's calibration. The mechanic behind the counter at the service center informed me; I needed to sign Intoxilock's lease contract. Upon reading... I discovered it is not a lease agreement at all but rather an assumption of complete responsibility and a waiver of all my legal rights. Needless to say, I'm not signing their so-called legal contract, despite their pressure tactics.
After reading the complaints posted here, I wonder what they're going to do to me!
