picota nail spa - price gauging and coercive, aggressive sales tactics
I am writing to complain about the tenant Picota Nail spa. On Saturday 7th of Sep i visited the salon to remove nail polish from my toes. I was forced to choose a colour to reapply, despite telling the sales person several times I did not want any nail polish reapplied because I had my 4 year old daughter with me who couldn't wait until the completion of a pedicure.
The sales person persisted and pretended she couldn't understand English so I gave in and chose a colour. At this point I asked how much the pedicure would cost and was told $58 total for a packed of, colour, massage, scrub and pedicure.
A few minutes later a second sales person approached and started massaging my arms. Unbeknownst to me, that would be an additional charge of $40. She also sprayed some oil on my arms and that too would be an additional cost.
Whilst this was happening the lady doing my pedicure started scaremongering me, saying I had sever nail fungus and pushed an expensive product on me to buy. I felt something was off & my response was I would see a doctor about and asked her not to polish my nails if fungus were present. Again she wouldn't take no for an answer and backtracked, saying it was safe to paint my nails. We were going back and forth about cancelling the nail polish but she got aggressive and pushy, so I caved in.
Next she mentioned she would add soap to the foot bath and it would be an additional cost of $1 (which I agreed to). It turns out she charged $10! The additional costs and charges continued to mount without consulting me and without my agreeing to them. $20 to remove the existing nail polish, $25 for a foot massage (which was already included in the package I agreed to pay initially), $108 for nail polish, extra charge for paraffin spray... this continued until they racked up an invoice of $298!
I argued that what the sales person had done was unethical and wrong and again she got aggressive and made me sign an invoice with all these additional costs. Again the salesperson insisted i was wrong and that was the cost I had to pay.
My 4 year old was agitated and upset at this point as she realised I was angry so I paid, reluctantly.
I immediately called my credit card company American Express and froze the payment, lodged a police report and also a complaint with the consumer association of Singapore .
These people are obviously thugs and their rorting and scamming must be stopped! They are not only tarnishing the reputation of ION Orchard but are also ruining Singapore's image to tourists, leaving us with a bad taste.
It is apparent from their google reviews that I was not their first victim, instead this is a common occurrence. They prey on vulnerable tourists who are out of their comfort zone to extort them of astronomical amounts.
If required, I can be reached on mobile +[removed] or via email on [protected]@gmail.com.
Thank you.

ya kun waiters and waitress
On 3 Jun evening, my family and I went to Ya Kun for a coffee (break). After getting a table and buying our coffee and toast, we saw that the table next to ours (on our right) also had chinese fritters from the foodcourt. My father then head to the foodcourt to buy some chinese fritters. Just as we were starting to drink our coffee and eat our toast and fritters, one of Ya Kun's waiters approached us. He stopped us from eating our fritters and said that no outside food is allowed. We refused and pointed that the table next to ours had been eating the same fritters since we arrived and was not stopped. The waiter then went over to the next table and stopped them from eating. He also told us to throw away the fritters rubbish (plastic bag and paper) after eating. Subsequently, we saw that that the tables next to us (on our left) and in front of us also ate outside food but was not called out by the Ya Kun's waiters and waiteress. We felt discriminated and embarassed by Ya Kun. We were the only table called out for eating outside food during the two hours we were there. Please investigate. We will want a formal apology from Ya Kun for the poor service, discrimination and embarassment.

design layout of a sportswear shop.
I was shopping with my girlfriend today when I notice the inappropriate design at the sportsware shop (If I not wrong the store should be Seek). I was sitting on one of the benches in the store during the time of incident. When my girlfriend walk towards the shelves of shoes, I was shocked that her panty was revealed through the reflection of the mirror at the bottom of the shelves. What is this nonsense? Is this a good design standard for a shop in one of the most famous malls in Singapore? This is totally unacceptable. I demand a change in the shop layout, either the shop removes the bottom row of mirrors or arranges obstacles to block vision from far. Should I see this not to be sorted out in the near future, I will proceed to lodge an official complaint through CASE and share it to the public. I hope this will be taken seriously.
Refusal to help with official letter for explanation and lousy attitude by Jia Hao
I was going to town to purchase Capitalmall vouchers at the popular mall in Singapore, Ion Orchard. These were for corporate clients. When I reached the mall, I was told that vouchers on ALL denominations were sold out till 2nd week of December (mind you, this is last week of October). Now Capitaland owns a plethora of malls in Singapore and to sell out vouchers for 'festive season' for more than a month means they did not do a good job anticipating outage = poor distribution and allocation of vouchers. Why did the concierge boy Jia Hao give me a generic customer email for am explanation? I need the vouchers for clients and when I ask for an official letter to explain to my clients about the absurd delay he told me to TAKE A PHOTO of the pathetic counter sign! These Capitaland vouchers are used for our CRM program. My finance department said they are waiting 3 weeks for the vouchers but there's a redemption cycle dateline for me to get back to clients! Follow-up on the mall's service was slow and I had to personally ASK for it. When I received my first response from them, not a single apology was mentioned! So much for Customer Care in Singapore's "best" mall according to #YourSingapore. What a disgrace that the tourists are recommended to come to this mall.
High pressure sales
After a rather bad massage, they put me in a room to wait for the salesperson. "Did you enjoy the $60 massage?" To keep that price, I would need to buy a package, otherwise I would have to pay $120 for a massage. She then offered me a package of 200 massages. Yes, 200! She tried to sell me $12, 000 of massages! When I laughed and asked her if she was kidding, she said, "what? too many? how about 150?" I don't know how she kept a straight face. Then she tried to sell me 100, then 50, then 10, then 10 again, then 6, then 6 again, then 3. "No. I'm not buying a package!"
I can't believe that people would actually give her thousands of dollars on a massage package, but I hope not. I see this as a sign that the business is in trouble. This sounds like a desperate attempt to get some suckers to part with their money right before they close their doors and walk away with the money.

Poor Customer Service
I would like to take the time to let you know of the extremely poor service from one of the PUMA outlets in Singapore at Ion Shopping Centre, Orchard Road "PUMA, #B2-23".
I suffered verbal insults from the staff there including the owner of the shop. I was thinking about buying the Drift Cat iii, thus i went to the above mentioned shop to give it a try. As i could not make up my mind i decided to postpone my purchase and think it over before heading there again the next day to purchase it. However, when i requested to try it on again, the staff there seemed very unhelpful and rude. One even said this, and i quote " Come here so many times, still don't want to buy." I find this to be very rude and i must admit that my image of PUMA isn't the same now. Hope you will take the steps needed to protect the lasting image of PUMA and rectify this issue. Thanks.
Regards,
Mark
