I wrote to Isango a week ago with the following message
‘I was really disappointed with the lack of communication from Isango. Not just in relation to the email below but also from the tour guide himself.
My partner and I went on the booked tour of the Golden Circle, Kerid Crater and Blue Lagoon with admission. Firstly we were not picked up until 09.30 and throughout the whole tour it felt rushed. Secondly, at no point the tour guide informed us that the itinerary had changed and we would not be going to The Blue Lagoon despite it being opened and mentioned by the guide of it being opened to the public. Going to the Blue Lagoon was something we had been dreaming of doing since we planned our once in a lifetime holiday to Iceland, so you can imagine our disappointment when we were taken to Hvammsvík hot springs. Had we been informed ahead of the tour that we would NOT be going the Blue Lagoon, we would have only booked the Golden Circle tour without the Blue Lagoon and would’ve booked this separately.
I would expect compensation for this as the springs we were taken to were substantially cheeper than the entrance to the Blue Lagoon and we have now left Iceland without having visited something we will probably won’t have the chance to do again.
