John C Cassidy Air Conditioning serviced my air-conditioning on Monday and now it is not working on Thursday
John C Cassidy Air Conditioning serviced my air-conditioning on Monday and now it is not working on Thursday. They will not come back now without charging me a huge fee, even though I have paid over $1000 for a maintenance agreement for them to come when needed. This is not the first time I have received disappointing service from John C. Cassidy Air Conditioning. Customers need to be aware that a $1000+ maintenance agreement means nothing. Dr. Linda Collier

Critical: Quality, Responsiveness
I recently purchased a condo, with a New Carrier AC System model C *** installed on May 1st. I felt good about purchasing a condo with AC installed in 2019, assuming I would get 10-15 years out of that system. Sadly, the AC has failed already (1 year and 6 weeks after install) due to compressor failure.
I have sent two emergency emails to John C. Cassidy Air Conditioning so far, but have not received a response. John C. Cassidy Air Conditioning states on their Website 90% of unit failures within 10 years are preventable with proper maintenance. My unit was slightly over a year old, and maintained, it's unclear why it would have failed so quickly.
After my two emails were ignored I called and spoke to a representative, was told a service manager was not available and my unit was past 1 year service warranty, and I'd have to pay for a service call...John C. Cassidy Air Conditioning does not stand behind their work, and I would not give them another penny.
So far I'm being told by another company Carrier may not even honor the warranty since the original owner did not "register" the unit, and I'm looking at a repair cost up to $1,100 on a one-year-old AC. Beware!

Business sold me an old air conditioning unit for over 4K in 2016 and it was a 2014 model. I purchased the unit as a new 2016 model. I view this as fraud. I discovered this when I needed a repair recently. I called the manufacturer and discovered this. The previous sales person also did not tell me to complete a warranty card, so my air conditioner was not under warranty. This salesperson is no longer with the company.
I signed for a Cassidy Care program contract for one year at $220.00 and it was paid to John C
I signed for a Cassidy Care program contract for one year at $220.00 and it was paid to John C. Cassidy Air Conditioning on 5/21 by credit card. Before the [protected] contract expired, I cancelled the renewal with the company. In August, John C. Cassidy Air Conditioning's accountant, [Accountant's Name], sent me a bill for $220.00 and I emailed him to get an explanation about the charge. He acknowledged that I cancelled but refused to explain why I still owed $220.00. Instead, [Accountant's Name] sent me a letter that he would send it to collection if I didn't pay. I cancelled my contract which is allowable by either party and it's not fair the way that the company is threatening to send me to collection.
In August a technician from John C
In August a technician from John C. Cassidy Air Conditioning broke a light in my AC unit that is meant to help with mold and mildew. They have not resolved this issue. In August a technician broke a blue light that was attached to my AC unit. This light is to help with mold and dust. This was put in after my vents were cleaned by Sears. John C. Cassidy Air Conditioning broke the light and said they would replace it. After numerous calls, they said they had ordered the part and it would take 6-8 weeks. When I finally called again, they all of a sudden had a technician with the part who came out but alas it was not the right part. I am still waiting and every time I call I get the same response - a manager will call you. In the meantime, my vents are now dirty again resulting and I have a broken part that they won't replace or communicate with me properly about.

We contracted with John C
We contracted with John C. Cassidy Air Conditioning (JCC) to install central air conditioning in the ground floor of a three-story townhouse, paying them $12,348. The contract explicitly stated that they were responsible for connecting the condensate line to the existing drain. However, they failed to fulfill this requirement. To make matters worse, they built a floating wall in front of the designated connection area.
The system was activated in November , but by March , we discovered water on the floor 20 feet away from the supposed connection point. Concerned, we immediately reached out to JCC, who requested our presence when the floating wall was opened. We complied with their request, only to find no evidence of any equipment or debris indicating that the connection had been made. At this point, JCC admitted their liability and asked us to provide the bills for the damages incurred.
Unfortunately, the damages were extensive. We had to replace the wainscoting on two 20-foot walls, replace the floor tiles, repaint the affected areas, and undertake carpentry and mold remediation work. As requested by JCC, we promptly sent them the bills, along with accompanying photos and cancelled checks as evidence of our expenses.
However, instead of taking responsibility for their negligence, JCC engaged in a lengthy back-and-forth discussion regarding what they should cover. Eventually, to our dismay, they decided to deny liability altogether. Their reasoning was that we had previously serviced the unit and replaced the pump, which was located 30 feet away from the failed connection.
This denial of liability by JCC is completely unjustified and unacceptable. We fulfilled our end of the contract by paying them a substantial amount of money for their services, and they failed to fulfill their obligations. We have provided ample evidence of the damages incurred and the expenses we have had to bear as a result of their negligence. It is only fair and reasonable for JCC to take responsibility for their actions and compensate us accordingly.
John C. Cassidy Air Conditioning wouldn't honor AC warranty "due to owner not registering with Carrier
John C. Cassidy Air Conditioning wouldn't honor AC warranty "due to owner not registering with Carrier". Luckily I called Carrier and was advised that the warranty is good until 05/2023. I bought my house in 12 and John C. Cassidy Air Conditioning installed a Carrier AC unit (Re:3918FXXXXX) on 05. I bought a service plan with John C. Cassidy Air Conditioning in 01. On 07/29 @ 7:00pm I made an emergency call to John C. Cassidy Air Conditioning because my AC wasn't cooling. Daniel came out and replaced the capacitor and also discovered that my blower motor was broken. On 07/29, I called John C. Cassidy Air Conditioning and spoke with Marisa Ceci. She quoted me a price of $1,130.00 to include labor, material, and sales tax. When I questioned her about the warranty, she said "the homeowner didn't register the unit within 90 days". Luckily I called Carrier, they asked me for the serial number and said John C. Cassidy Air Conditioning is mistaken, and that all parts and service are covered by Carrier until 05/2023. John C. Cassidy Air Conditioning then came back with an estimate of $402.00. By then, I had gotten estimates from 2 other AC companies. As of 08/03, I have cancelled my service contract with John C. Cassidy Air Conditioning. North County Cooling, Inc replaced my blower motor on 08/03 for $300.00. I am just glad I had the sense to call Carrier because their sales representative Marisa should've known better than me. Their integrity is definitely in question!
John C. Cassidy Air Conditioning: Breached our Purchase Contract Breached our Maintenance Contract
John C. Cassidy Air Conditioning: Breached our Purchase Contract Breached our Maintenance Contract. Committed Theft Attempted to Commit Fraud COMPLAINT 1 1) On April 22 I signed a Purchase Contract with John C. Cassidy Air Conditioning ("JCC") for a new *** Air Conditioner for outside my house and a new *** Air Handler (the "AH Unit") to be placed in my attic. The Contract was for $5000 and included a Warranty for "1 Year Labor". (See Exhibit 1,2) They were installed on April 28. 2) On April 30 I called JCC to inspect the new AH Unit because I suspected it wasn't working properly. Their technician came out on that date and found the "emergency pan full of water" and the "...strap holding drain line near attic exit had slipped down on truss causing drain to be double trapped". He made repairs and made sure there was "proper drainage". He also indicated the job was "...under first year warranty.". (See Exhibit 3) No mention was made of a charge to me and none was received. 3) On June 29, I called JCC to come inspect the AH Unit again because I believed it wasn't cooling properly and because of the concerns I still had from the April 30 visit that the AH Unit might not be draining properly. JCC claimed the AH Unit was working properly. As it turned out, my concerns about improper drainage later turned out to be true. No mention of a charge was made when I called in the problem and no charge was mentioned when the technician left. On June 29, JCC sent me an invoice for $95 for this visit. (See Exhibit 4) When I complained that I had a one year labor warranty, JCC said I was not covered. During calls back and forth after that JCC threatened that if I didn't pay they would "send the bill to a collection agency". Eventually JCC verbally told me they would "do me a favor" and cancel the invoice in spite of my "extortion". 4) On November 16 I called JCC because the new air conditioner had completely stopped working. JCC told me they would no longer service the entire air conditioner because Accounting had "put a hold" on my credit card. No other reason was given. I was also told that "anyone can service my unit under the Contract and it will be covered". I called *** and was told this was not true, that the labor agreement is between the Dealer and the Consumer. Calls to other *** Dealers confirmed that they would not cover the labor. Also, a review of the *** Limited Warranty on my unit clearly states, "With the purchase of your equipment, you may be eligible for a labor warranty from your installing dealer." (Italics added) (See Exhibit 5) 5) On November 17 I contracted with an outside air conditioning company to repair the system. They did so over a two day period at a cost to me of $1200. They indicated that the AH Unit was poorly installed, the emergency drain pan was bent, the system was unbalanced, and there was 20-30 gallons of water improperly built up in the air handler that had to be removed by two technicians. (See Exhibit 6) The JCC technician had found the same or similar issues on April 30 (see 2. above) and I suspect they were occurring during the June 29 visit. COMPLAINT 2 1) On April 1 I had entered into a "Semi-Annual Maintenance Care" Maintenance program with JCC which entitled me to have two air conditioning systems maintained twice in a year. I paid $320 for this Maintenance Contract. (See Exhibit 7) On or about April 1 the first of these two maintenance services was performed. 2) During the phone call mentioned above on November 16, I asked JCC if they would be performing, as contracted, the second maintenance paid for on April 1. They indicated the last record they had of any maintenance contract was in 2018. This, in spite of me having JCC's written invoice dated April 1 (See Exhibit 7), a cancelled check, JCC already having performed one maintenance visit in April , and their sending me an email on September 16 requesting the scheduling of a second visit. (See Exhibit 8)
