They keep calling me leaving nasty messages and then proceeded to call my brother in a different state with a different last name! They must have a payment no later than this friday before 4:00 PM or else! The woman that keeps calling is Cheryl from Tampa. She is nothing short of a harrasing abusive witch!

Blogging about this will not change anything. We need to get mean back at the harassing calls and let them know how you feel. If they call me 4 days after the first of the month I let'm have it. Why are you calling? You think this is some kind of a courtesy call? No, the only way is through reporting them as harassment and letting them know they are in the wrong. I am not sure who to call about this but you can bet your mortgage I will find out and I will remain determined...Chase is in the wrong!

I totaly agree. We have been out of work for close to a year. Savings have run out and now payments are late. 7 days. calls start at 8:22 and stop at 8:30 Called my mother in law and demanded that she make a payment or else. Told my wife to give the car back and get something she could actually afford, then asked her if she enjoyed driving it, then she should think about what its going to be like without it? I mean calling to tell you your late and to please make a payment is one thing but these people are about to drive me over the edge. And to discuss my finances with my mother in law, tell her how much im behind and to discuss payment arangements? I think that there is a law that was crossed and i suggest everysingle one of you here to do what im doing. Afford prepaid leagle for a month or so, sick them on their butts. They are the rudest bunch of people that i have ever dealt with. I could go on for hours. I would suggest that nobody should ever do buisness with chase in any form. It is quickly becoming my mission to drive this point home. After belittling my wife i almost dont want to pay them just because. If they do come to get my car i can promise you that the repossion will make the news. Watch for it. Nothing against the repo guy but news crew will be standing by.

Shoot, if you're one day late with Chase they can call you up to 15 times. I am currently two days late and have received 8 phone calls so far today and it's only 3 pm. And I agree having been unemployed recently that they have no compasion in situations out of your control. There should be a law about such harassment. I understand owing your payment, but one day late and 15 calls in one day, a bit extremem

My wife has never been behind in her auto loan with Chase and yet the day after the payment is due I end up getting 3 calls a day both human and automated. I've actually gotten 3 automated calls in, no lie, 20 minutes. The bad part is actually prefer the damn machine over the total ### I and my wife, and my mom and her sisters and her co-workers have to deal with because my wife financed a car, that she has never been behind in payments on, with Chase Auto. I tried to tell them that they were being harrassing but gave up about a year ago! Now when I recieve my usual 10 phone calls on my weekends I am generally rude, but I figure they have it coming for calling before 8:00 am on a Sunday! I seriously hate this company!

hey dumb, dumb. The want their money, just like anybody else that has a loan out. I would expect the same treatment from a company that i owe money too as well. Thats why they have you give out other contact information when you fill out the loan, so they can contact those people too when you dont pay for something. DUH! Its called common sense!

JPMorgan Chase broke terms of agreement

I accepted Chase Bank's offer for a Life of the Loan on Balance Transfer which was 4.9% APR, at 2% against a Balance that I am averaging $30.00 to $35.00 a mo pymt. They BROKE the terms and now are charging me $96.00 a mo pymt and added on to that a $10.00 service fee that gets added into the 11.99% APR bracket(On statement Sent to me shows this) for a total of $106.00 a mo pymt. The way I was told by the Very Rude Rep when I stated why since I am in good standing and have an excellent Credit score and rating has my pymt jumped up so high? she stated "the economy is bad right now and we need to get our money back fast". she said you still have the 4.9% APR but we will NOT drop the pymt's back to original amt and you will pay the $10.00 service fee. I stated that I am on a strict budget and have a household and family to support and a good number of other debts and this would ruin me financially and since I have a total of 7 cards with you (them) that they bought from other banks, if they do this to the rest I will have no choice but to file Bankruptcy. I cannot afford this pymt as I demanded to speak to a Suprv she stated that she was the only one I would be dealng with, NO! these are the terms and If I did not have anything else to talk about she was going to hang up. I have filed Major Complaints with the FTC and the BBB and now awaiting Outcome. But pymt is due next week and if they continue on these Loan Shark type tactics and not work with me all that I have worked for over the last 30 years is gone as I out of Chase creating this Demonistic hardship will lose all to bankruptcy. I now will Contact the National News Networks. Towards the end she stated I will bring pymtn back down but will raise the APR to 7.9% APR good unitl 2011 and you will still incur the srvice fee, after 2011 you will inccur the purchase rate at the time which right now is doulbe digits which is only putting off the inevitable. I can understand of I was in default but on the contrary I am retired and suffering my own hardships which now includes being a 24/7 Caregiver for my Stroke patient Mother. Chase is not only unfair but acting like Criminals in their dealings with the public (me) and will not go with out due attention of those in Authority who Regulate the banking industry. I am researching the Dept of Treasury for a Complaint section to Notify the Feds of this.

I, too, have had Chase break a number of their own agreements. The local newspaper consumer watchdog has recommended that you contact the agency that regulates Chase Bank (which is perhaps the OCC). Chase has ignored inquiries from my attorney, state attorney general, BBB, and severak certified letters from me as well as several actual visits to the local Chase Bank.

These people are NOT to be trusted, and they 500-lb gorilla-ing others (clients) around with apparent impunity. I didn't even open my account with Chase -- they inherited it from WAMU, then refused to let me close that account with a positive balance. They have allowed unauthorized debits from my account + low-balance fees & penalties that have now rendered my account negative even though I withdrew no money from it.

JPMorgan Chase unauthorized and fradulent charges from chase employees.

If anyone can tell me how I could have gotten unauthorized charges from anyone other than an employee from Chase please enlighten me because I have been going over it again and again trying to figure this out.

My story:

I opened a credit card with Chase because of a balance transfer offer they sent me. It was a fixed rate of 0% for 1 year but there was a balance transfer fee of 3%. So I transfered $1000 to this new line of credit and intended to pay it off within a year or less. I never intended to use it for purchases so when I received the cards in the mail I immediately locked them up in my personal safe at home. I didn't even show them to my husband or activate the cards. Then I continued to make $100 payments through the mail (not online) until it was paid off 10 months later. It was wonderful and I had saved money. Super!

Then about 2 years later I received a credit card bill in the mail with what looked to be website charges and since I had never activated the credit cards to begin with I thought it was really odd. So I called Chase to let them know that I had unauthorized charges on my card. They were helpful and reversed the charges and sent me some papers to sign and gave me a new account number and sent new cards. On the phone, I mentioned that I had never used the card for any purchases whatsoever or registered my credit card number anywhere online so I thought it was strange that someone had gotten my credit card info. All they said was "well, we will be investigating where these charges came from and you don't have to worry because you won't be held accountable for any fraudulent charges." When I received my new cards I again put them in my safe because I wasn't going to use them and I still thought something smelled fishy but I just went on with my life. Now it has been about a year and a half and I got fraudulent charges again (February 2009) from some wu-yi tea source website. Again I am baffled at how anyone could have gotten my credit card number. Based on my process of elimination the only people who have my credit card number is Chase and any of the employees who work with my account. So I decided to write this complaint and see if someone else can figure this out. I don't know how they hire their employees over at Chase but this time I told them that I don't even want any cards sent to me and I want to close my account. This time when I called about my fradulent charges the woman actually listened to what I said. She helped me reverse the charges, sent me paperwork to sign, gave me a new account number and then told me my case was "very suspect." I asked her what she meant by "suspect" and she said "hold on let me transfer you over to the fraud department." Now this first woman was clearly qualified to help me with my unauthorized charges so why did she send me to another fraud department? And why didn't she answer my question? (The first time I called 1.5 years ago only one person helped me with everything.) The second guy she transferred me to didn't even know what was going on he just answered "How can I help you today?" like I was a brand new caller who hadn't been helped yet. So then I had to explain everything again and he asked for permission to pull up my account blah, blah same thing again! Then he tells me "well it looks like your account is already closed and you have a new account number." So I tell him, yes someone already helped me with that and she transferred me to you because my charges were "very suspect." I explained again how I keep my cards in my safe and never used it online or anywhere etc, and all he said was "okay thank-you I will make a note of that on your account and is there anything else I can help you with today?" I said no and we hung up. It is very, very fishy. Although both times they were very helpful and always reversed the charges, I still think this company is fishy. If anyone has credit cards with Chase that they are not using, it might be wise to close the account because it appears that Chase's security has been compromised.

JPMorgan Chase fraud

I had the chance to get a home depot credit card for my kitchen purchase while getting free financing for 6 months. I remembered that a Chase Rep once called me and invited me to a special incentive program granting me 3% in the category I spend the most money with. I called to be assured that my kitchen purchase would qualify. To make sure that I get the right information, I even called twice. (They refuse to send any confirmations via email!) Both Reps told me that I am in the program and that my purchase would qualify. I went ahead with my purchase only to find out with my next statement that I only received 1% instead of 3%. Two supervisors later apologized that I was apparently not in the program and promised to send my case to the marketing department. No response. They were not even interested in investigating the representatives I had talked to. It is quite frankly appalling how they openly mislead their customers and don't take responsibility for their actions.

(1) Can I do anything about this fraud?
(2) Does anybody have a recommendation for a

JPMorgan Chase inflated transaction fee

I have some revolving debt that I will occasionally transfer to another card it the terms are good. I look for a low interest rate (0%-1%) and a promotional period of at least 6 months. And, most importantly, a low cap on the transaction fee.

This offer comes in on my wife's Chase (Amazon) card for 0.99% for 7 months with a maximum transaction fee of $75. Not bad, so we went ahead and transferred $10, 000. I call Chase a week later to check on the transfer and the balance amount was $10, 300 and not the $10, 075 like I was expecting. $225 more! What the hell?

So I call chase and talk to a rep and tell her what is up. She tells me the maximum transaction fee on that offer is $900. I told her, "No it isn't. It says right here it is $75 dollars". Well strangely, she immediately connects me with her supervisor, and I tell this new lady the situation. She says, "No problem, I can take care of that for you". This leads me to believe that this happens all the time, and that they are happy to "fix" the problem for anyone who catches it.

So I started thinking, if no one complains about stuff like this, then they can just get away with anything. So I googled "Chase fee scam" and Boom, got tons of results, one that led me to this site. It seems they have been doing a bunch of fraudulent things.

I hope sites like this will eventually deter big corporations from exploiting good folks and taking their money away. How many millions does anyone need anyway?

JPMorgan Chase scam charges

In January 2009, Chase Credit Card sent me balance transfer checks so I could use my credit limit of up to $12, 500 at a fixed rate of 7.99% until balance paid off. I have a spotless credit history and have been a good customer of chase for at least 10 years. At the time the account had a $0 balance. and I had not used the account since January 2006. On the checks, a note was indicated that as long as the check cleared by 2/28/2009, I would get the 7.99% fixed rate. This attractive offer made me write two checks to pay off higher interest rate cards in early February 2009. (1) $9, 000 to Discover (2) $1, 100 to Banana Republic.

On February 17th, I received an odd folded post card (that appeared like junk mail) from Chase Cardmember Services with a note that the first check 'was declined because of a closed account. In accordance with you Cardmember Agreement, your account may be charged a fee for the declined check.' Sure enough, when I called Chase, a $39 fee had been assessed on my closed account. Imagine that. A fee added to a closed account. I first spoke with 2 customer service representatives who refused to offer help and hung up on me. On the 3rd attempt, the representative kept telling me that he couldn't refund the fee. I started demanding action. Finally, he connected me to a supervisor who said he will refund the fee over the next few days on my account. Still 3 problems : 2nd check has not yet declined which will likely post a fee, Discover card will probably assess a fee, and Banana Republic will assess a fee.

Obviously, the problem will likely become demanding refunds for 4 fees assessed because of Chase's fraudulent practices. This is thievery. Given that banks have been bailed out with tax payer funds, this has got to stop! We need serious law changes on how credit card companies operate and more regulation to protect the consumer.

I have ready other scary complaints on here about Chase trying to change interest rates on low interest rates that were supposed to be 'fixed until paid off' which I have quite a bit of balance at these rates and have maintained perfect payment histories religiously.

If you experience problems, please report them as well so we can leverage the ploy of average Americans and take charge of these nasty banking practices, particularly in the current economic situation.

The raised our limit and sent us checks at the same time. Paid off the Chase account and used a check to transfer balance from higher card. After they received the payment and the check they decline the check and lowered my balance. All of this happened in less than two months.

I wish I had a $39 fee. I have a large credit line and am constantly being sent convenience checks. They had always had a 3% FEE TO A MAXIMUM of $99 for each check. Without reading the fine print, I used two checks for $75, 000. I had a choice of using the $99 checks but I picked up the most recent checks I had and used them there was a 3% no maximum fee. I was given a total of $4, 500 to use the money for one month. They were unwilling to budge. That was a lot of money for my justing grabbing the wrong check.

I commented on another post but I'll post here as this is even more applicable. They offer me something I cannot refuse. 2.99% for the life of the balance fixed -- not variable. I read the fine print, it was good. I spoke with the Chase bank manager about this and he shook my hand, saying, " no problem, it is as good as our home loans--only a better rate." He confirms that the only thing that would move my rate higher is if I paid late, I default or my credit tanked. No worries there, I'm at 749+ score with all 3 bureaus.

Fast forward one year. Chase increases my regular APR from 7.99 to 29.99 (no reason, all of my accounts are in good standing.) Then they reduce my credit limit to just above my balances. Pissed yes, but no worries. I continue making payments on time.

Now they send me a notice (Jan 09) that all my fixed for life promotional rate is going away. No opt out feature, its just going to happen in April 09. (says the customer service person).

Chase took 25 BILLION in taxpayer money with the bailout. They were supposed to use it to pay bad debt, instead they bankrolled it (there is no supervision of the bailout money by the way). They are also using it to lobby congress to veto credit card reform.

Chase follows the new credit model. They actively search for people who may have difficulty paying off debts and target them with balance transfers and debt consolidation offers. After getting in over their head, they bait-n-switch and frak them over. In an internal Chase meeting this policy was disclosed and the informant left Chase after he found out how crooked they are.

Luckily, I am in a position to pay off Chase in full on this. A lot of people are not so lucky and this will be the straw that breaks the camels back for them. I feel bad that our government backed such a crooked company like Chase, but then again, it is our government. No stretch there.

To all the flamers who would respond to this and with only the intent to tear up my comments: Go ahead. Maybe your a Chase Zealot in disguise, some CEO in his gold leaf pajamas who has to beat up on the person who got screwed by your company and has the balls to tell their story. Those reading posts after this will easily tell who is telling the truth and who is covering for Chase.

JPMorgan Chase increased interest rate

In these times of recession, how can the credit card companies take such advantage of their customers! I can barely pay the minimum payment, but I do pay it on time and they still hike the rate way an above the callof the fair act. We need to stop this type of criminal behavior. I want to be a part of the class action suit against these companies. How do I do that?
Thank you,

Stop charging, and let the financial institutions know you're having trouble before it spirals out of control. If you're using your card to pay for groceries and can't pay it off in full every month, then you have been spending well outside your means. Talk to a financial advisor.

JPMorgan Chase refinance mortgage

A friend has been going thru refinance with jp morgan chase since january, with an existing mortgage with the company. There has been ongoing communication with the refinance for a few months, with glitches in paperwork that included agreement that a couple of thousand dollars would be returned to the refinancee; when papers were brought for signature, there were conflicting statements in paperwork and a request for a couple hundred to finalize the loan. There seems to be something unethical and/or fraudulent about the path of this refinance. The final act that convinces me of this: chase notifies my friend that the home is in "default" status. What is baffling about this situation is that the mortage company was informed about the refinance, the existing mortgage and refinance is the same company and prior payments to the company have been timely. Has something like this happened to others in nc. The next course of action is to contact senator and atty general, but sheesh...in this economy, why are these companies still bent on wrecking the lives of us comsumers. I am hopeful that there is miscommunication that can be resolved quickly in the next few days, but this has been a nightmare for a friend that has already had a stroke in the last 12 months. I'd hate for the unnecessary stress to cause the onset of another.

I tried to refinance my existing mortgage with J.P. Morgan Chase. I wanted to combine my first and second mortgage to get a lower mortgage rate and to lower my payments. I was told this should be no problem. I jumped through every hoop they asked. I was told my loan was approved and just needed the approval of the underwriter. I did not think that was a big deal because JP Morgan Chase owned my property. The only excuse they could come up with to deny my refinance was "They did not like the bank that own my ground rent". My ground on which my property is located is only worth $2000.00. In my opinion the bank would lose money if they refinance both loans together. The second mortgage was a revolving loan, which you could never see the balance decrease. I was so devistated with all that I went through, 3 property assessments, credit reports, documentations, and going through an emotional roller coaster. I am in the process of having my mortgage refinanced through another institution, no problem.

I have belonged to Washington Mutual for several years, and have a accounts with them. Yesterday I took in a Collections draft for mineral oil and gas lease form Montana, and I was informed that they do not do that anymore. Now I have to try and find another bank that does it. This makes it very inconvenient for me as most of our accounts are with Washington Mutual. Do you have any insight on this. The draft if from Loan Tree Energy, and what do I do now. Guess that is why you do not have all of your eggs in one basket.

JPMorgan Chase terrible bank

Chase bank may have possibly broken predatory lending laws by reneging on their agreements with probable thousands of customers like me who accepted their generous offer of low interest for the life of the balance card deals. They have decided that the life is up.

They offered their customers 3.9% life of the balance loans on credit cards years ago. Now, after paying for many years at the agreed rate they have changed the plan and added a $10 monthly 'transaction fee' when no transaction was requested nor accepted, which makes the effective APR go to 6.5% . A figure they felt they could live with. As min payment shrinks the effective APR rises under the new accounting. When the amount paid is $10 the addition of a $10 transaction fee will make the effective APR 100%/month or 1200%/year!

They also decided to change the min payment from 2% of the unpaid balance to 5% of the unpaid balance. They told me, in a phone call, that they could take off the monthly service charge if I sign a new contract and agree to 7%. Isn't that extortion- adding a charge and offering to remove it for agreeing to higher interest?

Consumer affairs web site is full of similar complaints from scores of angry customers. At least one class action suit has been filed against them.

Could they change it again and increase the service fee to $1000/month and make the minimum payment 25% of the unpaid balance? They must not be allowed to change the terms of the original agreement.

We need an injunction on them barring any changes to the original contract that was to be in place for the life of the balance until a court can decide whether or not is legal for them to breech the contract, by changing the payments and effective APR.

I just received my statement from Chase, and my minimum payment went from $198 a month to $497. I too consolidated my debt at 3.99% interest, thinking I was doing the right thing. I have never been late or missed a payment. When I called to complain, they stated that if I didn't make the new minimum payment then my interest rate would go up probably to 22.9%. After much talking they agreed that I could continue with the old minimum payment, but the interest would go up to 7.99%. After one year at that rate it would rise to 22.% or higher. Who is to say that they won't change the terms again and again. This is so unethical. I had a great credit score and had been a responsible consumer. A class action lawsuit is needed to stop this mess.

JPMorgan Chase fraudulent basis for lowering credit line

I've been a solid customer of Chase's for 12 years. We received a letter from them stating that they were lowering my credid limit (to $14, 900.00 from $20, 400) based on "Too few accounts paid as agreed"; and they quoted Experian (TRW) as the reference.
I phoned Chase, they said contact Experian, but they recommended I buy a credit card protection plan...

I phoned Experian, which recommended I get the info on line.

I entered all the info. on line, and the Experian (via freeCreditReport.com) stated that I had a- 797- 'plus' score, which meant that less than 1/2 of 1% of U.S. consumers have a better credit rating.

Hmmm. The letter and the decreased credit line had NOTHING to do with Experian; it could only be connected to my wife calling Chase three weeks ago and asking for a better interest rate. We have carried other amounts into their care at a good rate some years back, and now they are jacking up the rate and adding $10.- monthlys. She was told that inorder to get the rate reduced she would have to cancel the card and yada yada yada.

I called Chase again with the info. ; I was told that (the office I was talking to:Charis M, Customer Support Division, did not know why the letter was sent; her department didn't send it. She said only in writing can I contact the department that sent it. Also, I asked if it was OK to record our conversation, she said absolutely not.

I reccommend for thise issue to call in to customer service and request to speak to the "Portfolio Risk Review Department". They are the ones who can lower credit limits on account due to information reported on your CBR and they are the only ones that can put it back at the correct credit limit.

Chase credit cards are the worst. After carrying a high balance due to medical expenses for approximately 6 months, I paid off 50% of the balance. Upon receipt of the payment, Chase lowered my available credit by thousands, therefore making my used/available ratio much higher which hurts your credit score.

JPMorgan Chase unsolicited phone calls

I took out a car loan with chase. I made my payments on time for two years. Everything was fine until the economy took a nose dive. I had no source of income my husband was layed off from his job. we have very little money coming in so I called and asked them if I could make weekly payments because It was easier for me to budget that way. they said that would be fine. my payment is 300$ I wanted to make payments of 100$ weekly, lets do the math 4 weeks x 100$ = 400$ monthly.

at first that was okay until one day I got a phone call and they said it wasn't okay and they will only deal with whole payments. so we make weekly payments until they said we couldn't anymore. In the meantime they were calling my family members harassing them and telling them I owed money on my auto loan and didn't know how to get a hold of me- that was a lie because they were calling me harassing me because I was a couple of days late on that months payment- a couple of days!

I didn't end up receiving any money for two weeks SO of course they called daily and told the person assigned to my case I would need to make the payment late but it would be made. was threatened with repossession for being a week late, next day someone different called and said that person was not my case manager and I again was threatened with repossession, so after the daily calls, the daily threats they are inflexible unruly, ignorant, and most of all rude.

I became upset with them threatening repossession and if I didn't tell them just what they wanted they would come get my vehicle. sounds like black mail to me. So as it is now I am 19 days past due on my current months payment and they again are threatening repo. With the economy the way it is and everyone losing jobs left and right to threaten everyone that has lost a job seems counter productive.

They repo tons of vehicles, ruins everyones credit, there stuck with vehicles that no one can buy at auction, seems like everyone looses, so why not work with the owners who will take better care of them? Dealing with chase auto finance has been frightening, horrible, and aggravating at best and I don't have words for what it has been like at its worst.

I'm dealing with Chase autofinance in a situation like yours. I asked them to re-negotiate the term of my car loan, I offered a voluntary reposs of the car. I offered a new co-signer with over 800 fico score and they rejected everything !. I made the firts 40 payments on time, and then I loose my job because my company went into a bankrupcy. They promissed me to send me a letter letting me know where to drop the car. They lied. A month ago, at 1:00 AM they came as thieves at my home, in the middle of a pacefull night and made an scandal as nobody has idea. They towed my car, and for a month this has been a real torture. They guys who took my car did not let me take the car plates, my personal belongings. Car registration, insurance card Nothing ! I have talked to at least 1o different officers. Every time I call them, they ask me different papers.Today, Sept. 14, 2009, I have talked to 5 different employees. The last one, told me that I ruined my credit for 10 years. That I'm going to get a number, That they will sell my car in a private auction, that they will accept only the pay-off of the loan ! They will auction my car for no more than $ 1.000. I owe them $ 5.000. I'm current on my payments. I have a big problem with the Motor Vehicle Office and I have no car. This has been stresfull, is not fair, looks abusive, illegal, and this caused me severe emotional distress. Repossesion experience was a unnessary humiliation. Chase treats its customers as thieves. I never on the rest of my life will make a bussiness with chase. Not anymore !

JPMorgan Chase disaster relief from hurricane ike

Chase bank solicited my wife and I at the beginning of October offering to defer our monthly payments for two months becuase of Hurricane Ike. At first I declined this but after much arm twisting I finally said ok as I thought the extra money would Help me with my deductible on our damage. I asked if they were going to defer the payment to the end of the note and the person named Rose said that is what they thought would happen. They were going so much of this and it happened so quick, she says that they will have all of this ready when I call back on December the 13th to work out the plan. So here is what has happened.
I called back and they wanted 3 payments as per them I was past due. If I could not make the 3 payments my options were Forebearance or loan modification that I would have to qualify for (which I did). she said they would start that process and told me to call back every week for updates, which we did. I ask her about making a payment and she says don't make a payment until February 1st. I told her that would add 4 months to the note and I did not want to do this. I sent in my December Payment and it was returned. I sent in my January Payment and it was returned. I finally got through to the Analyst who was handling my modification and he says that he was not the person handling this. Jason says, is that what you want? Duh! He says he will send it to the anlylst named Yanet. Well I call the next week to discuss this with Yanet and she is on Vacation from Dec. 26 through Jan. 14. This is sitting on her desk. I call after leaving Countless messages to supervisors, Yanet and the Disaster Relief Team and noone knows what is going on and they won't return any phone calls. Out of nowhere, I receive a phone call from Yanette on Jan. 21 while I'm at the hospital while my daughter was giving birth. She tells me that they don't want me to make a payment until April 1st. Now we are adding 6 months to the modification, did not lower the interest and now the added $15000 of forced Escrow to the back end. Total add is now at $29000.00 I paid my own escrow but they said they had the right to do this since they were doing a modification. My monthly note went from $2486 to $4300. this does not include our second lean of $1300. I ask her how many people can afford a bump like this? I told her that I wanted to pay the February and March payments. She said they will be sent back.
Now I've sold my home and cannot get them to call me back with a payoff. What a scam. Our family dealt with Hurricane Ike better than Hurricane Chase. They compounded my debt, raised my note to an unaffordable amount and won't take my payment and they did send my Feb 1 payment back. this way they can collect more interest and put me deeper.
What turned out to be Disaster Relief turned into a Disaster Nightmare. And on top of all this, they took the goverment bailout money and raised my credit card Interest rates to 24%. Wow!

Chase Bank does rip off people. My soon to be husband was previously married and got a house and went through a bad divorce where it ended up to Chase doing his modification. They wanted a good faith payment of 1700.00 and the monthly payments for principal and interest would be 440.00 which was great we had no problem. We sent in the good faith payment, and the first payment that was due on March 1 way ahead of time. A couple of days after March 1 we receive a collection call saying that the payment due for March 1 is 1520.00. We had no idea what they were talking about. We never asked them to open an escrow account or anything. So after speaking to 10 different people that were rude I finally got a representative that took out the time to tell me that the modification was complete but their was an escrow account open with an escrow shortage of about 700 bucks and a tax lien that was to be paid every month along with the principal and interest. Not to mention we already had our own home owners insurance that they were charging us for. I am sooo mad because they have basically quadrupled the payment without notifying us or anything. We knew that we would have to pay our own taxes and insurance but they are now demanding the rest of the payment which is stupid. We don't even know what the lien is for...or how much it is...or how long we will have to pay it? No one seems to know all of the answers. They keep transferring us to a bunch of different people...This is a rip off and is very ridiculous! Anyone with any ideas?

JPMorgan Chase finance charge

I have been trying to straighten out a finance charge issue for months. Mt minimum payment due was 110.00. I wrote the check for 100 even in error.
when I realized my mistake i called and after being on hold for 20 plus minutes I was told to submit the difference. I did that but payment was recd 2 days late and my finance charge was raised to 24.75 % along with late charges. When I called again and held again for another 25 minutes the very unprofessional person told me that nothing could be done. I told her that I would pay off my balance in full and close the account - she replied go ahead. Once again I submitted payment and once again it showed receiving two days late on the account. I find this very strange. No other credit card/ bill payment is arriving late. Today 2/3/09 I have tried calling again and keep getting a recording telling me my hold time is over five minutes. NO ONE should use this service.

I really can't complain about the company too much, I didn't have any problems with them as of yet.. I know when I first got the account about a year and a half ago they didn't have online payments. Which really sucked... but I always sent my payment out about 8-10 days before due date and they always posted a few days before... There was one time they charged me a late fee but I called and said the payment was posted on my account before due date and they verified and removed without problem. I was sooo glad when they added the online payments now its a breeze to set up payments in advance without having to worry about being late... Only one more payment to go...

The same thing happened to me! I paid on time... one person tells me that I'm late, another tells me it says it's late because they didn't process it by a certain time even though they received it on the pay date! Then another rep tells me that if I submit a payment then I won't get the interest added. Now they are telling me that by the time that person called me I was already too late and now they have to add on an EXTRA $1300! They are scamming, money hungry thieves!

Just cruios about the 1 day late complaints...I was under the impression that you were not considered late unless you went 30 days past your payment due date. So if your payment is due on the 1st and is received on the 2nd you are not considered late. If however that same payment is received on the 1st or 2nd of the FOLLOWING month, the bank is within their right to charge late fees, interest (however excessive you may consider it) and even report you as late...

In short, pay your bills on time

My account was due on the 20th. That evening I payed online. I was hit with a $39.00 penalty because I don't live in the Eastern Time Zone. I contacted their customer service department and everyone was unprofessional and rude. If you are given a due date, you should be allowed to make payments until 11:59 pm on the due date. This companies practices deception. I would not recommend CHA to anyone.

Chase Health Advance's practices are fradulant and dishonest. They charged me $100 interest for a month on a $2500 balance. This amounts to 4% per month or 48% annual interest, even though their statement indicates that the interest rate is 28%. Also, when I paid off my entire balance of $2500 (before the due date), they sent me another statement charging me an additional approximately $45. I do not know what this charge is for. I encourage everyone to complain to the State's Attorney General office and send a copy of your statement to Howard Clark on CNN so that he can share it with the public on CNN. This company has to be stopped before more people fall victim to their dishonest practices.

This effectively raises my interest rate to about 5 1/2%. In addition, they have increased my monthly payment almost three-fold (which may make it difficult in the current...

JPMorgan Chase unfair business practices

I have had my Chase Visa Credit card since 1995. As they say, do the math: [protected] = 14 years.

On my January 2009 Chase Credit Card Statement I observed that my minimum payment amount was increased from $85.00 to $235.00 per month even though I have been paying $250.00 per month.

My account also had a Service Charge/Finance Charge of $10.00 even though I have never been late for any payment and had this account for over 10 years.

I learned that Chase was increasing Service Charges from zero to $10.00 per month or increasing interest rates to 7.99% if a customer had less than a 7.99% interest rate. The $10.00 Service Fee would be billed each month regardless of the balance including a zero balance.

I paid over $4700.00 to Chase Card Services and closed my account. It seems that Chase Card Services only wants sub-prime borrowers ...those people that can't afford to protect themselves from such criminal activity as I can.

It seems that Chase doesn't want Prime Borrowers such as myself and only want dumb consumer cows for them to herd.

Banks, Credit Card Companies and Financial Institutions need to be regulated now ...not a year from now. Also, it is my opinion that what these CEO's and Upper Level Managers need to be investigated for criminal activities by all forms and levels of government agencies.

A limit should be placed on what these CEO's and Upper Level Managers earn and they should be prohibited from purchasing stock in the corporation that they are employed with due to an obvious conflict of interest.

Additionally, people such as Madoff should be tried, and if found guilty, given a sentence of life in a real prison.

The American Public is not a group of consumer cows (as the CEO's and Upper Level Management seem to believe). We are individuals with rights ...equal to them and no less or no more.

We the American Public expect these criminals to be brought to justice and for them all to be removed from office once and for all.

I recommend that any of your readers experiencing similar problems to my own to do the following:

1. Send a written letter of complaint to:

a. The Chairman of Chase Bank
b. Your Congressman
c. Your Senator
d. The SEC Chairman
e. Makes posts all over the Internet as I am doing.

2. If possible, close your account with any bank/charge card company and do not open any new charge card accounts.

3. Attempt to keep only automatic debit accounts for paying services such as your Internet Service Provider.

4. Reduce and pay off any credit card company that you possibly can.

5. Do not open new charge card accounts no matter how enticing they may appear.

6. We need to bleed these banks to fail and tell our government to let them fall.

7. New, more legitimate banks will be created and we need to remember the names of upper level management and CEO's that are currently running these banks today and ensure that they never get a job in banking ever again.

Chase card servicess are "with out a doubt" unethical in they're buisness practices, after a payment was 4 days late interest rate was raised to 31.99 % after sending $2000 on a $3.600 balance to get the principal lowered, they lowered my credit line to $2000 and then still charged interest on the old balance of $3.600 instead of the new balance of $1600, when I called a customer service rep, I was told that if I looked at the agreement" which is made so small that one needs binoculars to read" that it is in the contract ! consumers beware !

The Same thing has happened to me as well. I payed the entire balance in full before the due date and the end of the cycle yet I was still charged a finance fee for the time between the start of the billing cycle to the date my payment was posted. I was furious and called their customer service department who was no help at all at getting the fees waived. When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was transfered to a supervisors voice mail box where I left a calm, detailed message and as of this moment have not been called back. I plan on cancelling this card as soon as I can and have no further dealings with Chase Card Services.

My situation takes this one step further. They did not send me a statement for the finance charges until after they charged me a $39 late fee on $1.61 finance charges after I paid my balance in full. The customer service rep informed me that I should have anticipated what the finance charges were before paying my balance since my charges were incurred between statements. Apparently, you have to have esp to use Chase Card Services. The rep went one step further to accuse me of not paying my bills. I have excellent credit and usually pay months ahead of time. They really need to find better customer service personnel.

I am canceling this card, my other card, and am refinancing my mortgage with another bank. I hope the $39 was worth losing another customer.

CUSTOMER BEWARE OF CHASE CREDIT CARD SERVICES

I am also having a terrible experience with chase credit card. They have the worst customer service by far! From the first contact to the so-called supervisors, they are all extremely rude. Who trained these people? Do they understadnt there role?

This is my story...

I paid off my credit last month only to find out later that I owed a finance fee, even though I had paid off the entire balance on my credit card. Earlier this month I called and spoke with Margaret, the only decent person at chase, who understood my situation and waived the finance fee considering that I had paid off my balance. She informed me that my next statement would show a zero balance. To my surprise, Chase sent me a statement still showing that I had to pay the finance charge and that Margaret had no authority to waive the fee. Can you believe that? I think they got mad at me because I paid up the balance in full.

I will never make another purchase with a chase credit card. NOTE: Please do not cancel your credit card with chase, keep it but don't use it. If you cancel your card, it will lower or affect your credit score. Chase is the worst I've ever come across when it comes to customer service. They have no kind of training dealing with customers.

DON'T USE CHASE CREDIT CARD! They have the worst service in the world!

JPMorgan Chase late fee

I too failed to receive the e-statement from Chase Visa. I normally pay the charge on the day it is received which is about 3 weeks before due date with an e-check but no later than 2 weeks before due date. I had never incurred a late fee of any kind in my 65 years, and I have had a credit card since the 1960's when they mailed the card to you without asking. When I realized I had not made a payment to Chase I checked the site and there was the $15.00 late fee due to the $43.00 bill I had not paid and due 3 days earlier. Talking to the customer service was a lesson in futility. The best way to describe them is polite, that being an overly generous description, and indifferent, that being an understatement. I believe their hands are tied in re the late fees, and working with computers most of you know if it isn't in the system it can't be done, so I believe them. That being said if I didn't receive the statement I think they should have provisions for that at least for one occurence. I can't help but think that this is a problem that isn't a problem for THEM due to all the needed revenue it generates and I for one would have to be convinced this was not intentional in some way on Chases' part. This is a company that has been (mis) managed bordering on illegal to the point of needing federal bailout money so their credibility just isn't there, and I know mine is! So, Jamie Dimon, if this the best strategy you can come up with to justify your $55 MILLION compensation for 2008 I would consider it stealing.

JPMorgan Chase service charge fee

Chase Card Services has started charging me a monthly service charge for paying my credit card bill on-time! I have a balance on my credit card that is set a fixed interest rate of 4.99%. This month, my minimum payment amount was raised from 2% to 5% of my remaining balance and I'm being charged a monthly $10 service charge fee. When I called, I was told that in order to have the service charge removed and minimum balance dropped back to 2%, I had to agree to have them modify my fixed interest rate to a higher unfixed rate! This seems illegal to me but I'm not familiar with credit card laws. Chase is basically trying to strong arm me into accepting a higher interest rate. Any advice or suggestions on what other options I have available?

Same here, $10 monthly service charge and 5% minimum payment. It seems Chase nowadays only cares about squeezing out cash from the old customers, even after all those billions they received from TARP. This one does seem illegal, though. And why stop at $10?

Time to check transfers to the local credit union.

Patrick, I have the same problem. I have the promotional 4.99% balance transfer rate also. Now they are charging me the $10 "service charge" and raising the minimum balance payment to 5% too. I have never been late or missed a payment. I called Chase and they waived the $10 fee for this month but in order to stop the service charge I have to change to the higher rate as well...which was 7.99%. They have received a lot of complaints in the last 2 days from their customer base. Not much we can do I'm afraid. We either find another bank that hopefully has a better rate..good luck finding one.. or pay the balance off as fast as possible. I will be closing my account once this is paid off. I've had it with chase.

JPMorgan Chase interest rate increase

Today, I received a letter that they were raising my interest rate by 50%. Last year they offered a 'US Postal Service logo' VISA card to employees at 7.99% so a lot of employees transferred balances over to save money. Now that we have $7k due they are changing the terms.
We canceled 2 other bank cards when we transferred the balances and have been paying $450 @ mth to pay down the balance.
Our FICO score did not change nor did any other conditions of our family.
When asked WHY the rep said the company is making this change because they are not profitable enough on credit cards! But I always paid my bill each month before the due date, no late charges, no over balance.

Only remedy is to write to them to decline the change in terms, cancel account, continue to pay down balance until they change those terms and I need to win the lottery to pay it off in full. Did this instead of a home equity line of credit (prime is 4% today) because we didn't want to go through closing paperwork. They're making more money on us for cc interest than HELOC but they're not happy with that either?

I agree with all the posting. If you look at their name "Chase" it's what they do best, chase people down for outragous amounts of money. Im sure in the end they will be the one's crying how unfair things are when they go under. Every time I hear someone tell me that they bank with Chase I cringe. Chase is worse than those payday loans. At least they tell you they will be robbing you up front. Chase is like a wolf in sheeps clothing. I can't stand to even see any of their commercials. Yes we can boycott them and warn others to do the same. Sorry to hear such sad stories. Hope everyone can keep their heads up and wait for the news when Chase goes under.

chase is the WORST COMPANY I'm not working unemployment is ending and told them i'm willing to make payments but need to lower monthly payment they said no they send me to the hardship program and they told me at random i will never qualify for any program I ask why they said they dont know, they select cards and i'm one of them that will never ever be qualified. I have made every payment low or high I was on WAMU and my account was transfer to CHASE. Very unfair business dealings. I know they are a company and need to do what they have to but in this economy you would think. I have capital one cards and they help and have worked with me but CHASE EVILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL company i'm going to change my checking account from them because this is crazy.

BOYCOTT CHASE.

i told the representative on the phone you guys should treat customers how you want to be treated your company might be ok now in this economy but you never know history shows you can be on top today and at the bottom the next WITH BUSINESS DEALINGS.

I got the same letter but mine added that if I close I have to pay off the entire amount IMMEDIATELY! WTF! Since I cant do that I'm trying to pay it down as fast as possible and will then close. They did this on my WAMU-Chase card (I guess Chase bought WAMU).
Today I got a notice that they are evaluating my other Chase card (my original Chase card) for possible hikes in interest. How can this be legal!
I called them and they said a 'verbal shrug' - if I didnt like it I could leave.
I informed them that I would not only leave but I would never bank with them again or any of their side companies and I'd inform everyone possible to stay clear of them.

Boycott Chase! Boycott Chase! Boycott Chase! Boycott Chase! Boycott Chase! Boycott Chase! Boycott Chase! Boycott Chase! Boycott Chase! Boycott Chase! Boycott Chase!

Well today I just about had a heart-attack when I opened my bill from Chase. I transfered a loan of 30K since they had offered me a fixed rate (till the amount is paid off) two years ago. Fast forward, 24+ TIMELY payments, my bill went from $300 to over $800!

I called Chase and asked why, and what is going on, they gave me the run around, I cannot afford to pay, I was having a hard time paying the $300. But it was paid on time, now with this no one seems to care at Chase, well know what I'm going to have to stop paying as I cannot afford to do so anymore. What happened to being fixed? I NEVER received a letter before my bill, I'm a great customer, unfortunately Chase doesn't seem to care. Now I'm headed to collections, and you won't be getting many more of my money.

I'm telling ALL my co-workers, friends and family to close their accounts and Boycott Chase, shame on you!

I have an Chase Amazon.com card I had a zero balance on they raised my rate to 36% from 12% how stupid are they!? But I wonder who has the control because I had a wamu card and my balance on that card is at 14%. Obviously Chase doesn't want to come out of this bad economy at all because if anyone with a brain and decent credit will decide when they get a new credit card they won't touch Chase with a ten foot pole!

I have had one of the Chase credit cards (Visa) offered to Postal employees for several years at a FIXED 7.99 interest rate. Just this past week, I got a notice (which was mailed bulk rate and looked like a piece of junk) and buried in the fine print, was notice that my rate would be rising to 14.99 in August. I am so mad I could spit! I called and the representative told me that "due to the current economic conditions, " all accounts' interest rates would be increased. Even though my account standing and credit rating is perfect, my rate is still going up. I opted out of the increase, cancelled my card and told them to, essentially, kiss my butt!

To the last poster I had a simular experience with Citigroup/citibank in which financed a $700.00 computer from Dell because of it being conveiniant(I received $3, 000.00 credit line)well what they didn't tell me was the purchase was deferred which basically mean't they wouldn't bill me for three months which I wasn't made aware of so after the three months had ended then I was sent the first bill in which accrued an extra three months of finance charges so needless to say that added up to an additional amount owed of $172.83 can you beleive this.
It doesn't stop here though also having a Home Depot card which I used maybe once a year and on average charge less than $100.00 annually this past Christmas I put like $400.00 on the card and paid more than the min as I always do with all my credit lines, I then get notified by Citigroup that they were reducing the amount of my available credit of 40% in addition they were increasing the interest rate to an already inflated 22.9% to 29.99% of course I opted out and cancelled the card, then they have the gall to report that the credit line was cancelled by Citigroup what a bunch of liers and theives(if your report is manually pulled for example a mortgage or auto financing it will reflect negatively on your account).
Now on to Chase I as well as other posters also had a couple of credit lines via WAMU, once Chase got a hold of the company I got a notification that the interest on one of the cards was going up the reason they gave was "In order for your account to stay profitable we must increase your interest rate" Don't you just love the word play it's my interest yea right.
Wise up everyone Chase is nothing but a holding company for the Federal Reserve, they are a tool it's purposes is to make sure that banks whom get to large and start competiting with the Federal Reserve banks which btw one of them is Chase, then they allow those banks to fail by stopping them from getting loans from the Federal Reserve, then Chase the Reserves tool gets to buy out the supposed failing banks such as WAMU(which may I also add was cited just over a year ago as one of the soundest banks in the nation)the holding company aka Chase gets to buy out all of their assets for pennies on the dollar, guess whom approved and loaned Chase money to buy out all those failing banks? you got it the Federal Reserve, International bankers, were getting hit with all those bad debts and they get to profit while never paying a single cent on their earnings as they are tax exempt.
Yea it's time we restore our Republic, we were never mean't to be a democracy as cited by Jefferson, Washington, Franklin, and Adams, that "there has never been a democracy that did not destroy itself", that's why they created our country to be a Constitutional Republic, and that's why those special interests have tried to replace our Constitutional Republic under Admirality law and the UCC.

I had a "0" interest loan on a $3500.perchase, paid $200. per month, but did not recieve one months statement (Aprils) they socked me with a $850. increase to my balance and will not restart the 0 interest balance. I owe them $3200. now. What thieves! I told the person on the phone that I have had this kind of problem with chase before. I can afford and will pay off the balance and will intetionaly avoid using them in any financial transactioon in the future. Don
