Booking Code QHUB65 Flying CPT-JHB-AMS-LBA 17&18 April 2024.
The JHB-AMS flight was overbooked and I was unable to travel - I was moved onto the next day's flight with 24hrs delay, but the 3rd leg AMS-LBA was 5hrs later than my original booked flight - and that flight was further delayed by 75mins - so my arrival at LBA was 30hrs later than scheduled.
I was travelling for my brother's funeral and missed a day of preparations with my family.
At JHB we were advised that we were applicable for compensation - the person at check in said that the compensation was EUR150 cash or EUR300 credit against future flights. I said that I wanted the cash option, but was not happy with EUR150 as I understood compensation to be higher for such a delay. The person at check in said that I should take it up at the KLM offices at Schiphol.
At Schiphol I was advised to log a compensation claim online - which I did, and received claim no. C-7864731.
I have not had any further response from KLM and cannot see where to follow up on the website.
On 17 April I was emailed a voucher for EUR150 - but did not accept that amount of compensation.
