To whom it may concern.
My name is. ______ I recently brought my car to your Carbondale facilities for repairs/inspection. The car had no warning lights whatsoever ever. It just needed some repairs. I wound up in total spending right around $3,000 total.
The day I went to pick up the car I got in and the cars check engine light was on (wasn’t on when I brought it over). The mechanic told me it was a O2 censor. That it should go away once the computer recognizes it. I drove home and later the car stopped working and I was left stranded. Turns out your mechanic forgot to tighten the belt so the belt came off causing damage.
The next day they took the car back to the shop and attempted to repair it but couldn’t get the check engine light to go away. (Again I originally brought it here with no warning lights) now the check engine light and wrench was on.
I was later told the car needed a new pcm and they told me they would take care of the costs for that part because the issue occurred in their facility. Fast forward to now me without a car for a week costing me money from missing work / having to pay for Ubers.
A few days later Kost calls me and tells me the pcm is installed and they just need to figure out how to configure it.
A few MORE days pass and Kost calls me and tells me that they cannot figure out why the computer of the car is now showing all warning lights. So they then tell me I have to take the car to a Ford dealership to fix the issue. So they give me back the car after 2 weeks with still issues I never had when I originally dropped it off for repairs / inspection with no warning lights.
I then take it to a ford dealership who right away said I shouldn’t have taken it to Kost.
The mechanic at the ford dealership later tells me that Kost tire installed the pcm but did not program it at all. Also used the WRONG vin number. They repaired it for me but i had to pay an additional $599.43.
This is very bad business. This company cost me 14 days of work and also cost me countless Uber rides back and forth so I could continue doing things that needed to be done in my everyday life.
I spent a total of $2,868.78 at your facility and still left there with a undrivable car and all the lights now on up on the dash. Spent an additional $599.43 at the ford dealership to right the wrong that your facility did to my car. Totaling $3,468.21 spent to fix this car that didn’t have a check engine light to begin with when I brought it in.
I appreciate the fact that they covered the cost of the PCM and installed it, but apparently used an incorrect VIN and could not program it correctly.
I spent a total of $151.86 of Ubers to get back and forth.
I am writing this because I am extremely unsatisfied and this is very unprofessional of your company that put me through this for over 2 weeks of missed work and money spent and im writing this to see if you can somehow rectify this issue by compensating me for lost time of work and the extra $599.43 I had to spend at a separate mechanic to fix a issue your facility caused. The $ 151.86 cost of Ubers back and forth. If you have any questions please call me at I’d like to resolve this issue without going to court if possible.
Claimed loss: $1951.29. Including my lost wages for two weeks and cost of the ford places actually fixing the problem and $151.86 for Ubers back and fourth.
Desired outcome: I would like to be reimbursed.
