I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration regarding my Land Rover Range Rover Velar R-Dynamic S 2.0 5dr, purchased from Alpha Motors Wigan in December 2022. The vehicle, with a 2019 registration and 26,000 miles at the time of purchase, has been a source of pleasure for me, used primarily for leisure and occasional school runs proximate 5000 miles per year that I might use ,this should be nothing for this type of cars .
Unfortunately, on the 24th of October 2023, I encountered a sudden and severe issue with the steering wheel, making it impossible for me to manage. Subsequently, I promptly took the vehicle to Sytner Land Rover Knutsford, where it has been undergoing repairs since October 26th. The diagnosis revealed a quality/technical failure in the Steering Wheel Rack, an issue that Land Rover has acknowledged. However, to my dismay, the responsibility for the replacement cost has been apportioned with only 40% falling on Land Rover and the remaining 60% on me.
This revelation is both surprising and disappointing, especially considering Land Rover's esteemed reputation for producing robust and dependable vehicles. It is disheartening to discover that a vehicle celebrated for its toughness can unexpectedly encounter delicate issues, especially on regular city roads. Despite the acknowledgment of a quality issue, expecting customers to bear a significant portion of the financial responsibility for the repair is unsettling.
In light of these circumstances, I believe it is imperative to address this matter promptly and transparently to ensure a fair resolution. The situation has led me to contemplate taking further action to rectify this situation.
While I appreciate the efforts of your team at Sytner Land Rover Knutsford, the lack of updates on the completion of repairs is causing frustration. The extended delay in resolving the issue has made my daily life challenging without a vehicle. I chose Land Rover initially due to its reputation for quality and reliability, but this experience has been far from satisfactory.
I understand that obtaining a part from Land Rover is necessary for the repairs, and the delay in securing it is particularly frustrating. It surprises me that a company of Land Rover's stature would face challenges in providing timely service and lack sufficient safety stock for crucial parts.
I trust you comprehend the inconvenience this has caused, and I am hopeful that you can provide clarity on when I can expect my car to be ready for collection. Your prompt attention to this matter is appreciated, and I look forward to your swift response.
