Mixed Experiences with Lands' End: Quality and Service Concerns
As a potential customer considering Lands' End for your clothing needs, it's important to note the mixed experiences shared by other customers. While some customers appreciate the quality and value offered by Lands' End, there are concerns raised regarding customer service and product consistency. Issues such as delayed shipping, sizing discrepancies, and challenges with returns have been highlighted. It's evident that Lands' End has room for improvement in ensuring a seamless shopping experience for all customers. Before making a purchase, it's advisable to weigh these factors and consider your priorities when it comes to quality, service, and overall shopping experience.
One of the best sites for quality clothing for the
One of the best sites for quality clothing for the entire family, including pets. They are always having sales and bonus sales, so it's a good idea to check the site frequently if you are eye balling something special that is a little too pricey, it may be reduced when you check back. I purchased a down jacket last week and yesterday they had marked down the price an additional $30 so I called them and they adjusted the price. Another bonus of Land's End is that they have a lifetime guarantee on their products. You can't beat that!
This is a great site with great customer service!
This is a great site with great customer service! I probably shop here too often; but the clothes last a long time; and for my son who is on the thin side; their slim fit pants are simply the best! The quality is there, on the rare occassion that I have had to return something, they made it very easy. Never, ever had a problem with shipping and they have great promotions - so check back often. They have some of the best swimwear out there too! Used to be able to get Lands End clothing locally, but no longer. The website has been great!

What a delight!
What a delight! The quality of Land's End products is superb. Seams and hems are beautifully finished and the sizing realistic... none of this large = size 10 stuff. The fabrics are really good quality and the dyes fast. These garments are built to last, without looking like combat fatigues! The service and sales events tick all the right boxes and if you do need to return something, you can actually drop it off at a Sears or If you are ancient like me, you can always con someone into doing it in return for some dog or kiddie sitting. What's not to love?
I have been a customer for decades
I have been a customer for decades and am beyond appreciative for their stellar customer service. I have no issues with their returns and quite the contrary I am very happy with their policies and how hard they work to satisfy customers. Today an online supervisor worked so hard to find a happy resolution to an issue that would have inconvenienced me with a 2 hour commute by public transportation to their store.
I don't know any other company that would find 'out of the box' solutions on behalf of their customers. I can only say a million thanks to them.
Wow!
My best friend, who resides across the border, was recently diagnosed with cancer. I wanted to send him something supportive and practical.
I opted to get him a monogrammed robe, with an inspirational word.
The website stated the monogram would delay the order by six weeks. I was disappointed, but knew this was the perfect gift, so i proceeded.
I ordered on the 14th. Guess who received his gift, a week later?!
This robe is plush and perfect. The cost, including shipping and monogramming was lower than lesser quality, competitor, in store items.
Landsend exceeded my expectations at every juncture. I wish i could rate them higher.
Class act company!
All good
Im reading all these bad reviews, but all my online purchases are good. My last order came this week. It was bedding items. Top notched quality and lower price for the same item from competitors. Delivery? Perfect. My analysis is this. Keep your order simple, don't go back and forth, or expect customer service to bend over backwards. I am reluctant to order clothes, shoes, bc, all companies have a decline in quality. Ex: shoes made of plastic, glued. Should be thick rubber. Clothes are thin, after washing, its a pile of mess. Sizing is problem too, somehow China could not read the sizing during processing or no quality control. So, I believe, not worth headache to order online, when company cannot be consistent.
I can't believe it!
I bought several pajama bottoms and later decided to but the matching tops, but they were out of stock. I made the comment on their website that I loved them but wish I had bought them at the same time. Several weeks later I got a call from a lady with Lands End in Wisconsin wanting to know if I still wanted the tops because if I did she would search their stores to see if they had any in stock elsewhere. I told her absolutely, yes, and thanked her. A couple of weeks later one of the matching tops was delivered to me. I have NEVER had that kind of customer service before in my life. I've always knows they were easy to deal with on returns or exchanges, but THIS WAS WAY OVER THE TOP. Thank you Lands End lady wherever you are!
Lands End carries some of the best quality, everyday
Lands End carries some of the best quality, everyday clothing we have found!
I am a mom of 2 and especially love the kids clothes that look like kids clothes but are not suggestive, obnoxious, or obscene (ever try to find a bigger girls' dress that doesn't show cleavage? Ever try to find a bigger boys' t-shirt with no swear words or alcohol advertisements?)
The customer service at Lands End is unparalled! They are fantastic, even the on-line chat help representative is a real person! My favorite type of jeans were discontinued and the on-line help rep told me the item # of the closest pair in regards to fit and length.
Returns at local Sears stores are an amazing way to save return shipping costs. Excellent sales, excellent quality, and different sales on-line than in stores!
Customer Service saved the day!
I would be remiss for not following up my customer service experience with Land's End with a good review. I ordered a robe for my wife to give her for Christmas. It was about a week and a half before so getting it here shouldn't be a problem. I wasn't aware of it as the weather in my area had not been too bad but in the area where my order was coming from it was shutting down some shipping operations. By the time the package started moving the projected arrival date was a few days past the holiday. I got on the website and utilized the online chat customer service since I hate being on the phone. It was December 23rd so I figured I had better get back out there and find a replacement gift but was feeling pretty irritated and wanted to complain a little first. I explained the situation and how this was a gift for my beloved wife and Christmas was ruined, etc. I was expecting an apology and maybe a refund on my shipping and even offered to pay for an upgrade in shipping if that was possible enroute. The representative - Maria -, was very courteous and after hearing my complaint, asked me to wait for a moment and after a couple minutes replied that she was sending out a replacement order that would go out via overnight shipping and would be here in time, no extra charge, just the instructions that when the original order arrived after Christmas to refuse shipment or return to a Sears store. True to her word, the replacement order arrived the next day and all was well. I was very happy for the excellent customer service I received, they not only listened to my complaint but actually FIXED the problem. Many other times when dealing with other customer service departments from different stores in similar situations they have been quick to apologize for how this must make me feel, but rarely offer any solutions to solve the problem, just a discount on a future order or something like that, which often goes unused. I was blown away. I cannot say enough good things about this experience, it may not be typical but it was wonderful and great. I thank them, and my wife loved her gift!
This is the second time I've had problems with Land's End orders
This is the second time I've had problems with Land's End orders. First time, I wanted to get a nice set of towels for my wife for Christmas. I ordered them before Thanksgiving as I wanted them monogrammed as advertised on their site for the product. According to the web page, I was under the impression that all of the items would be monogrammed. Couldn't get the order to work right online so I called. The tell me only the towel would be monogrammed. I told them this was not indicated on the page. Didn't matter. Then, without my knowledge, the put the item on hold and then claimed I did it. She didn't get her present until late January. Some Christmas! This past year, she placed and order with them on the 7th of December, nothing special, no monogramming or anything. One was a shirt for me for Christmas. Just received the order February 7th. Kept getting email delaying the order week after week. Bottom line is, you should look elsewhere for your Christmas gifts or place them in July or August if you want them in time for Christmas (and then cross your fingers they don't foul it up or put it on hold without telling you). It's too bad as I thought the quality was ok and it's an American company but from what I see, they've displeased plenty of customers and now they're losing money. Shocking.
I received a Christmas present of a cashmere sweater and my husband got a sweat shirt from a family member last year from Lands End. I had to return them due to wrong sizes. Their website said if I returned the items with in 90 days, asked for online credit, and used their Easy Return Label then the postage would be free. I followed their directions and got a reimbursement for the items which turned out to be 1/6 the value of the items. I had to fight to get reimbursed for the postage which took some time. Question: How is it legally ok for a company to only reimburse 1/6 the value of an item? Would that be considered a scam?
Lands End has excellent items for kids and I've loved clothing them in anything from winter coats, pants to swimwear. BUT their customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. I placed an order on December 2, 2021 and some items were shipped and a few were backordered. The items shipped arrived too late and were returned for a gift card, the items backordered were canceled but my card still was charged. I have been disputing with Lands End for 3 months to get refunded for the backordered charges. They finally refunded me... from the gift card I had! The refunded me with my own money. What a *** company. At this point I am chopping up a $35 loss and warning everyone to steer clear. Horrible company.
Wrong size shipped, and size not marked on shoe...no reponse from Lands End. Avoid this company, buy at at your own risk.
Beyond disappointed. I spent the money to get towel/hand towel/wash cloth sets for my kids from them so they would be high quality. It hasn't even been 2 months and one of the towel seams is completely unraveling. I took these items to be monogrammed after purchase, customer service offered for me to return the entire set not just the damaged towel or to give me free shipping on a new purchase. I would have to pay to have all the other items in the set re-monogrammed if I had to return everything when the towel is the only part that is messed up. I'll literally NEVER order from them again. Not only cheap products but terrible customer service.
Online pricing is Misleading

I placed an order. It was shipped via UPS, and end delivered by USPS. USPS LEFT the package at the front of my office building, in plain view, and it was stolen. I watched on a video feed of it getting stolen. I then emailed Land's End asking for a replacement order. Customer Service emailed me back and told me to file a police report. I told them the video was copied over, and I do not have the tape. I even called and explained this. They told me that since the package had been "delivered" they could not issue a replacement. So I am out over a hundred dollars of merchandise. HORRIBLE service and policies.
Completely unacceptable when it comes to uniforms. I ordered my uniforms on Aug 6. And was told it would be at least 10 more days till it ships. That would be almost 2 months waiting on school uniforms. These kids already started school and now they ha e to wait to dress accordingly. If they cant fulfill the order in a timely manner let people know. We can go somewhere else. Also, ordered a lunch box and when I ordered it it wasnt back ordered, now its been back ordered to sept. 7 and now to sept. 20. I am fed up. Awful way to conduct business.
I placed an order for several clothing items (all in stock with no embroidery needed). Order placed on 9/11/21 with an estimared delivery date between 9/17 to 9/23. Order confirmation said I'd be notified once items were shipped. Called Customee Service today, 9/18, and items still haven't shipped and no reason for delay indicated or even an estimate when my items would ship. Cancelled order. I've ordered from LE many times over 30 years and the fact that they can't keep their customers apprised of delays or let the customer know what's going on with their order is inexcusable. As another poster suggested, if you can't keep up with demand then stop taking orders and have the decency to keep your customers informed and don't give false exoected delivery dates.
We placed an order on 8/26 for 3 school uniform dresses with logos. I called lands end directly to ask about time frame and was told everything would ship within 3 weeks. I was told the delay was due to one dress being on back order. Here it is nearly EIGHT weeks later and still no dresses, no email update, nothing. All styles are in stock. And Im reading that others who placed their logo orders after ours have received their items. I cant get a straight answer from Landsend. One rep told me they were working down the list in the order items were placed. Obviously not as friends of ours, who ordered the same day as us, received the SAME ITEMS as us a few weeks ago. The rep also said our items were hoping to ship by Thanksgiving! A supervisor told me theyd ship this week, but they havent even made it to the logo department. For the exorbitant fees you charge for uniforms and shipping, I would have expected better.
I went to landsend.com on Dec.8, 2021 and ordered a pair of men's shoes
I went to landsend.com on Dec.8, 2021 and ordered a pair of men's shoes. The website prompted me for payment source and I selected paypay and approved the payment. Received email from paypal confirming transaction but it listed it as "pending." When I didn't receive confirmation from lands end I attempted to call them. No one answered after numerous attempts I tried their chat. Finally connected with someone named "Brianna" Explained to her what had happened. Was given no options; she just immediately stated give me the order number and it will be cancelled. I really wanted the shoes but at this point of frustration I just complied and gave her the order number. She told me the order would be cancelled in the next few days. Told her I needed it addressed immediately. Sorry she'd done all she could. If it is possible for someone to be rude as hell in a chat, trust me she was. Got no where with her; asked how to print off chat and she said click some icon and she ended the chat. No apology, no is there anything else I can do for you. It is now 1/3/22 and my paypal account still shows this transaction as pending. For some reason unknown to me paypal will not allow a grievance to be filed on something pending. So there you are..STUCK! This is unbelievable and the customer has no recourse with these damn people. So if ever there was a BUYER BEWARE company, lands end fits the bill. This is not the company of old and I strongly advise against buying anything from them!
I placed an order on 8/19/21 for a bunch of school uniforms. Some shirts needed to have a logo put on them. I reached out to them on 9/27/21 for an update on the order and they stated they were short handed so embroidery would take 45 days from the order date but when I placed the order it was only a *** days for embroidery. I had asked why they couldn't send the items that didn't need a logo and they said they don't ship orders separately but they would make a one time exception. I received part of my order on 9/29/21 and was charged for that portion of the order. It is now 10/26/21 (69 days after the date of the order) and Land's End charged me the full remaining balance of my original purchase on 10/21/21, however I have not received notification of my remaining items shipping or a tracking number. I contacted customer service and they told me it is sitting in the warehouse waiting to be packaged but they didn't know when it will be packaged. They should not be able to charge me the remaining balance until they can send me the tracking number and it should not take over a week to send out a package either that I have been waiting for over two and a half months. This is just not acceptable...especially for the prices they charge. They even stopped updating me on the status of my order after September 5th!
This is unacceptable that it takes OVER 2 MONTHS to ship a few uniforms that are in stock? We ordered uniform 08/29 and it has still not shipped! these were items in stock and I was told will ship in 3 weeks.,ordered well in advance so kids have something when weather is colder and it has been 2 months.. 2 MONTHS! and till nothing? How do these companies get away from this?
I placed an order on Cyber Monday, using the appropriate promo code for their Cyber Monday promotion, which was 60% off and free shipping (no minimum order). In my cart and on the first checkout screen, the items were appropriately priced, and the shipping said, "FREE." However, by the time I confirmed my order, a $9.00 shipping charge had been added. This was clearly a glitch in their system, so I contacted them. I spoke to two different people and got the same answer from each one. There were no price adjustments on "prior purchases" with the Cyber Monday promotion, and I would not be refunded the shipping charge. I asked why it was considered a prior purchase when it was placed on Cyber Monday, when the promotion was active, and got no response. They should honor their promotions and take responsibility when there are technical glitches in their system.

Raincoat / slicker zipper pull failure
It is 1am and the dog wants to go outside, now. The rain is coming down so hard it appears to have defied the law of gravity. I decide that my light rain jacket will not do the job, so I head to the closet for my Lands' End rain slicker, perfect for such an occasion. Before I know it, I find both the zipper pulls are in my hand. The rest of the slicker remains in perfect condition but now useless.
It was a very wet walk for both dog and human.
Please note, I have had the slicker for about 1.5 years.
Please see the photo attached below.
Desired outcome: Replacement.

Hey, you should contact Lands' End customer service about your rain slicker's broken zipper. They're usually good with returns or repairs, especially if the item hasn’t lasted as long as expected. Meanwhile, you might want to look into a temporary fix or get a backup jacket for those rainy emergencies. Hope that helps!
Shoddy Clothing
Ive been purchasing Lands End swim wear for more than 20 years and was accustomed to high quality materials and workmanship that usually resulted in a swimsuit lasting several years. I began using a new swim suit from LE in mid-Jan 2016, but was dismayed when in late Feb the fabric across the backside began disintegrating. I ordered a replacement on March 1, only to have the same thing happen again less than four weeks later. This time in addition to the backside, both side seams began losing their integrity. When I complained to Lands End customer service I received the following: Thank you for writing to Lands' End. The Industry standards for swim items are for three times a week pool use for three months. That's even with rinsing after each use as the chlorine will break down the Spandex while using and it's almost impossible to get it completely removed with rinsing. So basically, LE is selling swim wear that cannot be used for swimming. Using their industry standard formula, a suit can now be expected to last just 36 uses (3 times per week for 12 weeks, roughly one summer). Yet neither of the two suits Ive used this year lasted this long, and the second one began to disintegrate after just 15 uses, less than half the so-called industry standard. Lands End was once known for its high quality clothing and swimwear that could be counted on for several years of use, not just weeks. Those days appear to be long gone.
Lands' End inserted an auto-opt in offer on their order
Lands' End inserted an auto-opt in offer on their order form so when someone entered an order for more than $100, their name and address was automatically sold to Conde Nast Publications which then send a very raunchy GQ magazine out to the family. Without knowing (and unless you located the tiny pre-checked checkbox and unchecked it), tons of Lands' End customers were unwittingly subscribed to GQ magazine for a full year. GQ magazine is a raunchy magazine targeted to single men that is rife with sexy nearly fully nude female photo spreads and filled with articles about sex. There are so many things wrong about this, but here are a few:
1. Violation of good business practices - Why on earth would Lands' End "trick" their customers into allowing Lands' End to "sell" their name and address to anyone?
2. Wrong Demographic - Even if it was crystal clear to the customer that they needed to opt out of a pre-checked tiny check box on the shopping cart at checkout, why on earth would Lands' End promote a raunchy men's magazine to a conservative family clothing customer demographic that is shopping for classic, conservative, modest clothing?
3. Cat is Out of the Bag - Now that Lands' End has sold our name and address to GQ, I'm positive that GQ, like any good magazine publisher that knows the value of selling their list has already sold our name and address over and over again. And a huge problem with that is that suddenly everyone they've sold our name and address to puts our name and address into a bucket that thinks we are interested in smut. Now we need to be on the alert for every lingerie catalog, every pornographic magazine offer, every adult toy catalog, etc. to show up in our mailbox where anyone of our teens down to toddlers might innocently grab the mail.
I cannot believe how utterly stupid Lands' End was to pull this move!

R u kidding me?
This was my first time shopping at Lands' End I went to the outlet in Madison to try on sizes of parkas and the maxi coat they didn't have a maxi coat available only online. So I found out my size I went home went on line and looked at the coats and pricing is different from the actual store to online. So my first purchase was five coats I like color so there were colors available, orange, magenta, bubblegum pink, royal blue etc. never expecting to pay more for different colors of the same coat. So to my disbelief I did place the order. But felt that somehow I would be able to get the price adjusted at some point within the timeframe. Went to the actual store and they had the same coats and different colors about $28 less each, so then I bought five more coats at the actual store. So for a first time buyer I would think 10 coats is quite the purchase. So I did go back to the store to check about price adjustments and they said it had to be done online so Monday I called and they said that they would submit my purchase for a price reduction or price review, and this would only b done once. I just called again and they said they don't do that and I said well yes you do because I talked to somebody on Monday and they told me to call today for the review of my account, so I talk to Megan in customer service and she kept going round and round about what offer I had received by signing up for emails and I just can't believe that I couldn't pin her down to actually why I couldn't get a price reduction. She wouldn't tell me what offers they had running right now she was depending on me telling her what I had received well I have received so many emails from Lands' End from being a first time shopper and buyer that I can't remember all the different codes shopping codes that you have to put in. It was a type of smoke and mirrors with the different prices and all the different offers floating around out in space. So I told her that I would be returning the five coats that I bought online and she said that was my decision. And I said with this being my first time experience of purchasing lands end products, and this crazy experience of all the different pricing all the different offers I would've thought Lands' End would've done something to keep this first time 10 coat fire as a customer. But she didn't care seem to care. She was just adamant about getting her point across as to the difference between ordering online and in-store and the different price ranges for the coats and the different prices for the colors and the sizing. All this matters to what price you're gonna pay for the coat. Crazy to me. I've been on this earth 60 years and I was born to shop, but guess what I won't be shopping at Lands' End anymore I want the real price the first time so I don't have to keep calling and running around trying to figure out what email or what offer is flying around in cyberspace.
Duplicate order
I placed an order for a jacket online on 11/01. I was billed two different amounts for the same jacket. One for 35.97 and one for $49.95. When I tried to call the customer service number all I get is "all circuits are busy, try again later"
When I look on my Account on the Land's End Website, the only order that shows is the one for $35.97.
When I email I get no response. I have filed a complaint with Paypal and with my CC company to stop payment.
Desired outcome: I want the second charge $49.95 refunded and cancelled
Parking fees and parking attendants.
I payed £7.50 to park at lands end time of day was 16.10 in the afternoon but not told almost most of the eating places had closed at 15:00.and all others close at 17:00 . If we had known every thing was closing ,we would have gone back another day. Also the parking attendant was quite rude. No receipt was given or ticket to display in car.
What a total RIP OFF.
Desired outcome: Please refund.

Faulty material and sent back only to receive a gift card instead of cash back
I have been a Lands End customer since the early 1980s and have been happy with the products, durability of materials, and reasonable pricing... Today this company is a different company offering very weak products and not standing by there old phrase of customer satisfaction period... Remember the phrase? On a recent return of faulty products, I was sent a gift card, which I did not want, instead of my money back. I do not want to do any more business with Lands End and want my cash back, not using this card for more defective products...
The boots I've purchased are falling apart. the soles are un-glued and they are cracking. I love these boots and don't wear often but sad that I can no longer wear them because of how much they are falling apart.

thank you for your thoughts

Cheaply made despite the premium price. Material doesn't breath and if a drop or three comes out after you've closed the fly you'll feel it against your leg for a bit. The fly is too small; if you have girth and length you'll pee yourself by the time you can extract your member. Leg length is more like a brief and not a boxer brief
coupon eligibility
I placed an order for a rugby shirt that was $95. I had a coupon mailed to me with a discount code of Holiday3 for 50% off the order. I then added other items to the order to get to the $75 free shipping. When I placed the order I noticed the discount was not applied to the shirt. I called Customer Service and spoke to a supervisor who proceeded to argue with me and told me that the back of the coupon clearly states that not all items are eligible. Why then send a coupon out that says 50% off the ORDER. I purchase a lot from Lands End but I'm not happy with the customer service and will return the items I've purchased
disappointed
I've been with them for ten years. And I have a question: what happened to the Lands' End?
It used to be a great website for ordering good quality clothes.
Now what they sell is just a garbage, junk.
Last time I got something oversized (even though I ordered a definite size), made of a terrible material (if it can be called so). Looks very cheap. I'd be embarrassed to wear this crap.
I am very disappointed with you, guys.
Avoid at all costs!
I had the most terrible shopping experience ever thanks to these guys! Ordered something from www.landsend.com and received an incorrect order. First of all I contacted their customer service and asked for a replacement but instead of help or any kind of support I received only anger and rudeness! They did not want to help me, they refused to listen! I said I can provide photos but they did not even want to look at them! They simply did not want to admit they made a mistake! What a joke of a company! Avoid at all costs!
Product was false advertised
I’ve purchased pair of shoes from Landsend which were supposed to be genuine leather but after 3 days of use I’ve started to get a rash on my feet. I knew it was because of poor quality materials, I get that rash all the time in such cases but in this case it is Landsend’s fault because they’ve advertised those shoes to be leather...
Crummy Swimsuits
I have purchased swimsuits from Land's End
for over 20 years. The cut was always
perfect for the tank suit. Since Sears
has taken over, the cut has changed in the arm cut. The cut is wider around the arms and it is very uncomfortable. Why would a best seller be changed? I will now shop elsewhere!
Just tried to order 7 monogrammed tote bags
Completed a lengthy order
I am a regular customer
I asked for delivery, whatever the reasonable cost, within a one week window 3 weeks from now. They said they could not "hold" the item so I would have to reorder in 2 weeks. I will never deal again with this customer unfriendly company

Terrible experience
Twice now, I've received a Lands End catalog, phoned them to place orders...and have been told that they are out of the products. The catalogs have arrived in my maibox within the specified period requested by Lands End.
I emailed a complaint to Lands End customer service, and got a canned corporate response about needing to order conservatively. I find this very aggravating and disrespectful to a customer.
I feel very much fooled here. if they don't want to account for people who call in once they receive the catalog, then they shouldn't send out the catalog. I sent another email to customer service and have yet to hear form them.
So is what they send REALLY a catalog or a ploy to get people to call and perhaps order something else? hard to say but if they won't stock items to fulfill orders then they shouldn't solicit phone calls by sending out catalogs.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
