I have been to numerous clubs that promote "family" and with an advertisement of a barely clothed individual i'm not sure i'd want my family seeing that. I'm just curious to know what you as a club are promoting here?

I am a member of lifetime fitness syosset, new york. My daughter loved going so much that she thought it would be a good idea to obtain a job their. Worst mistake of our lives. She is 19 years old. She worked in the kids academy. I will say the gym is always very clean with most people smiling and greeting each other; however their is a negative tone in gym with dealing with racism. My daughter was called the little black girl twice and brain (manger of kids academy) has done nothing expect try to fire her after she asked him what the policy for quitting. He than said after asking about the policy "u could just leave now". Also spoke with the general manger doug whom i'm still waiting to call me back from the beginning of july 2018. I have given the gym almost 2 months to apologize to my daughter and myself. My daughter was lied on and brain who is the kids academy manger has no clue all that his assistant (arielle) is doing. I will not be apart of this cult. I will also be calling cooperate. And to think all we asked for was an apology. I guess u paying her 2 weeks salary of $90 per week instead of any apology should had been perfect in lifetimes eyes>.

My name is gabriel j stewart and I am customer at life time fitness. On 07/20/18 at the life time fitness in john's creek, ga, around 10pm between 11pm. I had an associate who was very rude and nasty to me. The issue was that there is a sign that says the pool is closed at night time but the door was never locked and there is no exact time for that sign that says when the pool is exactly closed. Also that same exact sign was there during the day time and there were people out there in the pool with lifeguards, which makes no sense because it's not really closed even though the sign is there. I had tried to explain that two the lady who was still being rude. I didn't get her full name. Her first name I was told by another associate was cece. The other associate who they claim was supervisor, which I don't believe he is was very rude as well and I have a picture of him after the conversation when I explain the situation to him, which he was not having a clear understanding of what I was telling him. He stated that she was at fault for slurring insults and name calling, he also tried to say I was at fault as well which is some thing you never tell a customer especially when I just explained a situation to him that actually does make sense. I had let them know that was gonna I be talking to their general manager and that I was gonna file a report against them. I also have proof and documentations for what i'm talking about aswell and I will be submmiting these pictures to corporate. My email is [protected]@aol.com.
Welcome to the ever changing rules and excuses by lifetime. The rules are not enforced - basically they are posted and they hope that most of the people who join are going to respect the rules. Unfortunately - that is not the case with the quote "special people" who do as they want - to lazy to clean up. We had under-age kids throwing balls and doing cannon balls in the hot tub while mothers just smiled. One of the people told the front desk - after nearly 20 minutes someone came out to do something. They were gone. We were told that the person at the front desk was only 18 and should not be expected to take care of this. Next accident to occur - the mother will try to sue and lifetime will have their typical dumb look on their face of - well we did not know. Other members as well as other have plenty of encounters about the rules. Leave you with this last one - dad bring his to young children into the sauna - nothing was done. Again sone rules are made so people will be respectful and kind to each other - and others are flat out about safety. The bottom line -- don't bother lifetime about these matters as most of the employees considering you as a pain in the [censored]. Please note - there are some good employees with good values at lifetime - unfortunately they are few are far between and in most cases do not have the support of the manager and others in charge - its all about the bottom line and risk assessment. Time for us to band together!

Lifetime fitness is a toxic place to work, and the energy of that bleeds into the gym experience.in the last five months four employees I know personally have quit. 60+ hour work weeks with six ten-hour days drains them. They just chew them up and spit them out. I highly suggest you do not join this gym until things change.
In the garland gym for example, there's "punishment" if you leave sick. The next day you don't get to have a go at signing up the "walk-ins". At least that's what happened to a worker I know who quit. There is a "buddy" piece too, which is misused to steal other account managers opportunities. Thres's tim, who told one employee, "if I would've known you had two kids I never would've hired you." he was faced with a single mom having a soccer schedule and a split custody agreement.
There's more. Backstabbing. Mean women with ego complexes. Best I can tell, the failure to even meet minimum wage. Let's do the math… 60 hours a week times four weeks equals 240 hours. If you bring home $2000 is that minimum-wage? Ok. Maybe around $9/hr. But you're expected to come in on your day off…
I can't stand this place. I want to warn you, if you spend your money here, you are promoting this toxic workplace environment for single mothers and women all over the country
membership, magazine subscription
I don't know how they got my name and credit card information, but so far I have had to close two credit card accounts and make fraud claims with citibank to stop this company from billing me a membership fee and then monthly charges. Now I am getting a magazine from them with the claim that if I do not call them to opt out I will be charged a subscription fee. When I tried to call the number to opt out I was told to "input your 9 digit membership number". Of course I have no such number. This has been happening since the original charge in early june.
Easy solutions - stop the fraud, stop the magazine, get me off the mailing list.

Since may of this year I have followed the policy of going to lifetime fitness in troy michigan yo cancel my sons membership. After two suicide attempts I had to put my son in a residential treatment center out of state. Assistant manager heba ahmad in an email after several attempts in may and june said she would take care of canceling the membership. I was once again charged in july for the membership. I left a a message for jason bird general manager and am still waiting resolution.

Today, saturday 6/30 i, christopher martin, checked into lifetime fitness around 10am and proceeded to the basketball court area to warm up before my workout. At that time staff members of the gym began moving row machines into the basketball court area while members were actively shooting around. One staff member advised that he would be moving the row machines shortly and walked away. Shortly thereafter, the general manager by the name of frank quarpararo came into the court area screaming about moving to the other side of the court to avoid hitting the row machines. When I didn't respond or move fast enough, mr. Quarpararo aggressively approached me with his finger in my face, spitting and yelling about throwing me out of the gym and how he's the general manager. I told him to back out of my face. He continued to yell and then walked away. Lifetime's membership is not cheap and neither is the gym. The same expectations I have for gym equipment, facility appearance, and customer service is the same expectation I have for those in charge. I felt very threatened and am extremely disheartened at the experience I had today. I was minding my own business and his approach to rectifying the situation was uncalled for and unprofessional. I have been a member of lifetime since november and have recommended several people since then. At this point I will no longer recommend people to this gym as the leadership appointed to run it is disrespectful and unprofessional. No member, no matter what situation, should ever be treated in such a horrible manner. I left feeling incredibly offended, belittled and disrespected. I can only hope that corporate will figure out a way to rectify this unwarranted, uncalled for issue.

Lifetime fitness childcare facility put my baby in danger. My baby (who can't walk) was left unattended and kept getting hit and knocked down by the door because of the heavy traffic of bigger kids coming in & out constantly. I made a reservation for the infant room but he was left outside of the infant room unattended. I contacted my local gym in woodstock, ga (where the incident took place) & lifetime corporate office about cancelling my membership asap because of what happened to my baby. I talked to dustin otto (manager) in the lifetime fitness corporate office who was very rude to me & refused to cancel my membership. Dustin otto was unmoved, unsympathetic, & unapologetic about what happened to my baby. He was quite rude & nasty. He criticized me when I told him about my child.in a nasty, arrogant, smart-like tone like he could care less, dustin otto told me, like it was all my fault, that I should have made an incident report. I had already told management that's all I could do. I'm not an employee & don't know employee protocol to make an incident report. When the incident happened, I repeatedly called the manager, cara. She didn't return my call until I talked to a female employee at the corporate office who insisted on calling cara for me. After the lady in corporate called cara, cara then had her assisant, sasha, to call me back to set up a time for us to talk. When I met with cara, in the meeting, she (in a very nice tone) repeatedly told me next time to only talk to sasha & I don't have to contact her. Cara nicely told me over & over again many times… that sasha, her assistant, will relay the message to her. Even though she was nice, I still felt a little uneasy. I understand she wants me to talk with her asst & leave it at that. But that didn't sit well with me. I still wanted to talk to an actual manager. I felt because of the serverity of the situation, I should talk to a real manager about it, not just an assistant. I wanted to hear from a real manager. I wanted to be the one to actually speak to the manager myself. Well, I guess I may be the only one who felt that it was severe. I feel like i'm the only one who's generally concerned about my baby being left unattended, getting hit & knocked around by a door when he should have been in the infant room because I made a reservation for the infant room, not lifetime fitness employees.
So, now, why is dustin otto, corporate lifetime fitness manager, getting smart with me, pointing the finger at me, telling me what I did wrong, when it was lifetime fitness employees the ones in the wrong by putting my baby in danger (leaving my baby alone to get hit & constantly knocked over by a door opening & closing due to bigger kids coming in & out). My baby can't walk. My baby was constantly getting hit & knocked down by the bigger kids running in & out of the door. It made me cry. I couldn't believe that dustin otto, a manager in the corporate was so nasty after I explained this situation & why I wanted to cancel. I feel like no one concerned about my baby getting repeatedly hit by a door, not lifetime fitness. When I repeatedly asked for dustin otto supervisor's name, he refused to give me a name. He told me that there was no one higher, or over him than him that I could talk to. I repeatedly asked dustin otto was the head person in charge of the lifetime fitness company & there was anyone over him to talk to. He repeatedly responded that there was indeed no one over him to talk to. Dustin otto refused to give me any supervisor's or manager's name. I guess that you can conclude from our conversation that dustin otto owns lifetime fitness. I called back & a different employee told me that a woman named bab is over dustin otto. I left a voicemail for bab but she never called back. Because my baby was put in danger & repeatedly hit by a door, & I was treated to rudely, i'm cancelling my lifetime fitness family membership. $140 per month for my membership and this is the treatment I get.
injury with personal trainer
I joined lifetime fitness westbury new york location on june 6th, 2018. On june 9th I was working with a personal trainer who increased the treadmill speed beyond my ability and subsequently was thrown from the treadmill, causing injury to my head, back, and both knees. The personal trainer just stood there offering no assistance. I am active duty army stationed at ft totten, ny; upon arriving to work that morning my captain noticed the large bruise on my forehead and wanted to know what happened. I had him call edwin hetman at lifetime, edwin denied an incident occurred and told my captain I came to the gym like that. Obviously upset I returned to lifetime to confront edwin and he looked at the video and confirmed what happened. He further dismissed me and refunded the membership without any acknowledgement of responsibility or apology for lying to my captain. I am not a litigious person however this treatment is inexcusable. I was treated with utter disrespect and disregard as a paying customer. Instead of being concerned with my well being, edwin was in a rush to get rid of me. I look forward to discussing the matter upper level management. Please see the attached photos of my injuries.
Unfortunately you are screwed as far a litigation. I looked into it after the water aerobics instructor/employee deliberately caused injury to me while lap swimming. You sign a no fault agreement which is part of your contract with them. Several states are trying to change this. Basically the can trip your running or drop weights on your foot etc... and nothing will happen. In addition their posted rules do not matter, as very few people will enforce them. In some cases the instructors are the worst offenders. Basically the few selfish / self centered people have taken over. I have seen several times those that are afraid to say anything to those quote "special people " and continue to get walked all over. Its a consistent complaint among those (80% to 90%) that do want rules enforced are afraid. There are only a handful of employees that will do something. The rest - well they think you are just a pain in the [censored]. Seen it - experienced it and it continues to get worse and the managers are getting weaker - the main office is about dollars - I wish that all of us with issues would ban together and demand change or switch to other clubs - YMCA - LA Fitness - to name a few. But it would have to be all of us. Sad but true! Besides all this some of the rules are in place for safety - thats a joke with these people. To manny storries to tell - but maybe its time we do. Hello, I am attaching the notice for cancellation here. This has not been accounted for yet. Jenna hasnt updated in the system. I have stopped by the center talked to kaitlyn, jenna, matt but no action. Called member relations, liz asked me to send picture of notice for further action.
Kaitlyn was to credit back membership fee minus hold fee for may by may 12th, since both were applied, but that was also not done. What is told and what happens is entirely different. I expect the cancellation be effected immediately, instead of dragging months together!

I got membership on monday, 2nd april for 4 people. I am very disappointed at the way I have been treated.
My daughter got really sick and was hospitalized right after I got her your membership.
I was trying to contact someone in your office and I kept calling for three days. I even left voice mails and called many times to discuss the issue.
No one called me back on my voice mail request or helped me.
On monday again (9th april) I went there, and talked to the guy on the counter. He did not give me any solid information. He looked mad as soon as he came to know that I am requesting cancellation or putting account on hold. I told him about our medical issue and also that due to the ramadan coming next month, when we all fast the entire day, I can not attend jim.
Finally this girl, mariah helped me with everything. She basically refunded my money as I got member ship on last monday and I came this monday at exact same time.
Today mariah called me that refund will not take place.
I am really really upset at what is going on. My whole day has been spoiled because of the way I was treated and the way your management is showing no care or concern.
I am a journalist and am a famous person in my community. I was thinking of telling other people about this place, but within a short time, what happened, and the way it happened has really surprised me.
I need someone to talk with me why my refund has been cancelled. And why am I being ignored. I kept calling the office and left voice mails. Why is it not been considered as my cancellation reason.

I'm writing this as a final outlet to let anyone who reads this post that life time ajax doesn't take sexual harassment seriously and hope after this post someone will take action.
I'm a single female living alone, so these types of things set off alarm bells especially with all the recent incidences of violence and attacks on women throughout the gta.
I joined life time to make a change and start my recovery process from a life altering event. I've been a member for over 1 year and made many friends with quite a few members including staff which made me feel at home. Its such a great place and comforting environment and this is what I wanted from a gym establishment.
In mid january I went to the gm justin dabu to talk about an issue that I never thought I would have to speak about, especially at a place I feel so comfortable in. It was about one of the staff working and they were making extremely disrespectful comments, spreading rumours and ultimately making me feel like I was an object and I felt extremely uncomfortable.
I spoke with justin and he reassured me that this would be handled through the proper channels. I hoped that me reaching out would have been enough and action would have taken place to prevent this from happening again. But the behaviour didn't stop and has continued. I made a conscious effort to elude the staff member who were harassing me.
I reached out to justin once again before making the decision I never thought I would do at such an amazing gym like this which was ultimately canceling my membership.
I know that to this day nothing has been done because the set individual he is a vital part of the sales department.
I am really disappointed and saddened by this outcome and wish that this issue was taken more seriously.

I chatted with someone online before going in to the facility and I spoke to someone on the phone as well, the night before. They gave me information without a problem on what I needed and what was included to do the one day pass. My boyfriend and I went in, we communicated with employees the first two women were a little hesitant but went on to help us out, the woman said since I didnt do the pass online that I had to fill out papers. She had me sign a waiver just understanding the policies while being on their grounds and then told me to wait for their "accountant" who would further handle us. We patiently waited. The guy came out of his office, looked at us and walked past us then reverted back towards us, we explained what we wanted to do with the one day pass and then told us we couldnt do it when the woman clearly told us we could and after I was told over the phone and through chat with an agent that we could. We felt very uncomfortable anyways and decided to leave.
LifeTime Fitness caters mainly to white rich folks.
Most of the staff they hire are bigots and deep rooted racists.
They keep increase dues in an effort to weed out people of color . It Class action suit in the making!

I'm asking you to terminate my membership and refund any february fees already charged to my account. There's no need to set up a meeting with you to discuss the suspension. You've proven to me your inability communicate and to manage your responsibilities. I do not want a membership at lifetime (king of prussia) as long as your a your the manager unless formal written apology. Reason: seven members and two staff at lifetime witnessed and confirmed I was very pleasant, respectful and professional towards lifetime staff. You've talked to me often and have solicited me to have your windows tinted by one of my contractors and could have at anytime since october informed me of the culture in kids academy regarding my daughter being issued a written notice because she told a child he wasn't allowed on the the gym slide with his shoes on. The child's parent didn't like my daughter talking to her son and requested lauren write up my daughter in turn lauren accommodated the parent's request. I explained to lauren calmly and professionally with staff present that it didn't made no sense for her to be written up for stating a rule that true. Lauren acknowledged and agreed. She explained she did so because my daughter has been a problem in the past. She then alleged to staff at kids academy "I threatened her", "I was her enemy" and referenced my family's ethnicity. I calmly asked moving forward to make me aware of all behavior issues to resolve any future confusion. I thought the interaction went well and was resolved unaware she was harboring negative feeling towards me. Those negative personal feelings towards me and fueled by (your authorization that they are not required to talk to me) became evident amidst my attempting to register for the "daddy daughter dance", lauren interrupted me mid sentence in a loud tone "you... Talk to lance not me" several times in front of me and my daughter and there are members willing to confirm her actions. Lance, you never bothered to verify and communicate anything from october or yesterday. You knowingly kept me ignorant from information that I should have known and used to avoid lauren's allegations and this situation all together. I'm asking your investigate the above statement and issue deserved apology for your participation resulting in an assault on my character by lifetime staff.

My family and I are members at the lifetime fitness location in vestavia hills, alabama. I was attempting to get a holiday workout in today before the club closed at 3pm as I am in the current 60 day challenge and don't want to be disappointed with my results. I am understanding and sympathetic to the fact that today is christmas eve and the staff is anxious to get to their holliday. However, the closing announcements over the pa we're excessive to say the least. Beginning at 2:30 the announcement about closing was made every five minutes and they announced that the club was closed twice with two minutes between each announcement and the announcement was made five minutes early. These announcements we're very assertive and quite direct in the intension to hurry clients out if the gym. I had to constantly stop what I was doing, remove my headphones and listen to these announcements. It was very distracting and counterproductive to my routine. Like I said, I am sympathetic that it is a holiday. However these announcements made me feel rushed and unwelcome in an environment that should be the opposite. I choose to go to this gym that is out of my financial budget as a mother of two and full time student and drive 35 minutes out of my way to come to this gym because I appreciate the amenities and consider the welcoming atmosphere to be one of those amenities. Several people around me were also audibly complaining about the announcements during their work outs as well. These messages were very rude and unprofessional at the least and I am extremely dissatisfied with this experience.
billing account illegally
Hi everyone i've been a lifetime member for 6 years at the mississauga location in ontario. On november 20 lifetime personal training department withdrew $760 from my account without my authorization and it is now december 18 and I am still waiting for them to refund my account for the charges. The personal training manager andrew keeps coming up with excuses that are not acceptable. Not happy and pissed

In the fall of 2016, my significant other used my checking account to pay for his monthly dues.in november of 2016, he was sent to an undisclosed area for 10 months where he had no access to any fitness centers. I contacted lifetime fitness in the same month to get my account information removed from his account. The customer service rep stated it would be removed and I would receive a refund. I contacted lifetime customer service again in february of 2017, stating the same information and that my account was still listed. I received the same response: "we are sorry for the confusion and the oversight, we will remove your account and refund the dues." I looked for a third time in may of 2017 with still no resolve. It is now 12 months later, and I am still getting billed for a service i've requested be terminated.
I spoke with bab (a supervisor) today and she stated there was nothing that could be done. She stated there were notes on the account from february of 2017 stating customer service had spoken with my significant other about coming in to make a payment. She also stated there was a note from april of 2017 stating my significant other said he was going to come in to the local lifetime, set up a payment plan, and change the due date. First and foremost, there is no way customer service could have spoken with my significant other on either one of these dates because he was not available for phone calls and his phone number had been disconnected in october of 2016. Considering I did not have these types of conversations with any customer service reps, it's obvious the notes on the file are incorrect.
My significant other and I were considering getting a family membership, but it is disconcerting that lifetime is so willing to take someone's money without a signature authorizing bill-pay and then refuse to work with the customer when something happens. Never in the times I called was I told I had to go to the local lifetime to resolve the issue, I was always told "we will get it resolved." I would much rather spend my money on another fitness center and let other people know about lifetime's less-than-ethical billing practices than deal with this again.
As of the date of this complaint, I have been charged $848.00 between 12/2016-11/2017, for services that have not been used.

About three weeks ago, I was working out at a lifetime gym and was harassed by a lifetime janitor. As I was walking towards the womens locker room, the janitor approached me, and made a condescending comment towards me. I asked him to leave me alone and he proceeded to continue harrassing me and followed me towards the womens locker room. I immediately went to the front desk to speak with a manager however nothing was done about this employee. I haven't been to the gym in three weeks now because I don't feel safe or comfortable working out knowing he's still working there. Lifetime is a horrible gym with horrible management. I will never go back.

Yesterday, 10/19/2017 I made an appointment to come in for hair and nails, was my first time ever getting a pedicure there and I had let the lady know that “ tasha” I was going back and fourth from my nails to my hair being on a time crunch & as I was in the middle of getting my pedicure tasha asked a hair stylist to come in ans take a video of her scrubbing my feet.. The lady looked confused and said no tasha told her to again so she did. I felt extremely uncomfortable and frustrated she didn’t asked me for my primission to even tape me in the first place. As I was finishing up my hair afterwards my boyfriend came up to the front desk to pay and tasha told him to watch the video of her scrubbing dead skin off my feet.. He told me this after I left.. I was extremely embarrassed and I will not be back.

Let's start off by saying the facility other than being super dirty is great. The pool is closed time to time because of human feces. Half the people have ring worms highly contagious by the way. I can't believe a trainer could train someone with a tank top on showing excessive ring worm rash without considering other members. The employees their are extremely judgmental they are all jealous of people who actually get results. Everyone working their is related in some way either they are family or they are screwing each other. Oh and they are literally having sex in the facility. The trainers have no results what so ever I been there three years and they have not changed and neither has there clients. If you want to pay for someone to just stand there and tell you to jump up and down be my guest and if you think you will get any results you are mistaken. Some trainers are on steroids and still have no gains and you know who i'm talking about. The guy with all the massive pussing zits on his back and this trainer still wears tank tops omg! I seen his zit explode all over the machines gross. If you are not part of there little cliq and get results they will hate you and judge you because they are extremely jealous. The trainers just want your money for doing nothing and they will literally come up to you and ask you for money while your working out. The locker rooms are filthy their has been an incident where a women has taken a [censor] in the shower! Is this where you wanna bring your kids?! If you are successful the employees will keep nagging you about what you do, how you can afford coming here and how you have so much time to be here, so annoying. I can't believe the amount of drama at this place and this is all because of a woman named ashly who literally is the worst manager I have ever seen. She is a lier and extremely fake. All she does is run around doing nothing and acts as if everyday is bring you child to work day. If you have to speak to her she is nowhere to be found someone has to call her because she's at the child center with her kids. Now let's talk about the members, some member literally come there to socialize as if this is a social club. They will stand there and watch you workout and talk about you. How rude is that? If your a pretty girl get ready for all the old men to come up to you and give you inappropriate compliments and if you reject them they will hate you. This also goes for the trainer there they will violate you and ask you over and over to train you on a specific part of your body like your butt. I find that very inappropriate! If they see you getting results they will accuse you of using steroids because they don't believe you can get results from hard work and dedication, so they kick you out I have seen this happen to members there. What they can do to improve this club is train the employees to be less judgmental, jealous and establish some boundaries in regards to employees dating. I have seen one of the employees go up to a couple telling them not to kiss in front of other members. I was shocked! Who are you to tell someone not to kiss mind your own business and how can you say this when trainers are kissing each while on the clock. Also, why is there a guy cleaning the women's locker room when their are children in the locker room? This is a shame what a great facility only ruined by untrained employees and management. You can try and go there and avoid all this as much as you want and mind your own business as I have tried but drama will find you! If the employees don't like you they will follow you and harass you until they find a reason to throw you out.
I am suing LifeTime Fitness at Berkley Heights, NJ for the similar issues you described , including Harassment and Racism, I have been there for 12 years.
