rental car - locauto - bari airport - [protected]
Hello.
I recently rented a car through rentalcars.com and Locauto out of the Bari Airport in Italy last week. I believe I was overcharged and the deposit of €400 that was required in order to rent the car has not been taken off my card despite email telling me that it would be released. The message that I received was also extremely ambiguous and said that the funds would be released and that the transaction was completed. Was not clear if that meant that the funds have been released back into my account or if they had been released as in charged to my account, but regardless, it is still sitting in my account.
Concerning the charges, I have a receipt for the first charge of $212, but today received a second charge with no receipt for $215 from Locauto and was not contacted prior to the charge in any way.
Please review the documents below and get back to me ASAP. This ordeal has been extremely frustrating and I will not be using rentalcars.com or Locauto again. I have tried to get into touch with rentalcars.com, customer service, customer support, as well as Locauto and it has either been extremely difficult to talk to a real person who can help about this issue or no one responds back to me, just sends me to another person who does not help.
Please review the documents below and get back to me.
I also attempted contacting lock auto about some headphones that I left in the backseat of my car that I rented. I inquired about having those mailed to me. Very limited response, not helpful.

I left some items below the mat in the boot/trunk of my Skoda Octavia today. I dropped the car off just before close tonight about 710pm in the termini station Rome. car rental & charges
I made this booking through lastminute.com for the dates of 4-7 May 2018. My ID number is 1852189 and at the time of booking, paid extra to have what was sold to me as an upgraded car (VW Golf). Upon arrival at Bari Airport, I was told that the Golf was not available and I would therefore have to accept the Dacia car I had originally been offered for a lower price. Complaint 1 is therefore to seek a refund for the difference I paid to upgrade to a Golf as this part of the agreement was not upheld from your side.
Secondly, I note that two payments have been taken form my account. The first is £353.63 and a second payment of £95.91. I understand the first amount (£353.63) is the deposit taken in case there is damage to the car. I was also told a second charge would be applied for roadside assistance but this was quoted as being around £10 so why you have taken £95.91 is alarming.
I would like to know why the £353.63 has not been returned yet as your employee at Bari received the car, made an inspection and told me the money would be returned. This has still not happened. Please cal you also advise why I have paid the best part of £100 for roadside assistance when the price quoted was a fraction of this!
Overall a really underwhelming experience.

I am a UK resident who rented a car on holiday with a rental company called Locauto Rent SPA on 6th March 2018 in Sardinia. After 2 months, I have been charged on my credit card for an admin fee for parking fine of 48.80 euros without any evidence. How do I complain and ensure the money is refunded to me. my name is Elad I'm a diplomat and a very disappointed costumer.
today I had a very bad experience with the shift manager in Milano malpensa - MAURO. he shouted at me and was very violent verbally.
my mistake was that I arrived late to my time of booking, while I was trying to understand that my car was given a way Mr MAURO started to shout at me till I decided to just cancel my reservation. I felt umlauted and a sham this is for sure not a way a costumer should fill because of your employees behavior.
I'm renting cars a lot, including with locauto in the past, and such an event never happened to me.
I'm demanding that you will take my complains under the most Serious consideration and that he will be dissiplinated.
I already filled a report for rental cars and i'm thinking about expending the bad reviews for you online.

I rented a car from Locauto this Summer. On Pick-up we noted 11 damages which were fixed in the contract. On Drop-off, only 6 were registered (?), so we paid our agreed invoice and expected the deal to be closed. One week late we got an invoice per email and our Credit card debited by some 250 € for damages to the car. Complaining at Rentalcar, where we had booked the car on internet, we got this amount refunded. No Word from Locauto. Now, 2 weeks ago, we got again an invoice for administrative fees on behalf of a police request for a traffic fine. I don't contest this, although I am not aware of any misconduct, and ask for a proof for this request. No answer, but now I got debited TWICE for this admin fees. Trying to get in contact with Locauto is not possible, the link on their website for the customer service is not functioning. I can only recommend to everybody to avoid this entreprise, whose practices are close to being criminal.

I rented a car from Locauto at Rome airport from 21/07/2017 to 28/07/2017 and everything was fully paid. There were no problems and I had no accidents or fines. I subsequently got an email from Locauto confirming that they had requested my bank to release the deposit for the car.
On 27/12/17, my bank account was debited by Locauto for an amount of 43.39 GBP (48.80 Euros). I have not received an invoice, statement or notification from Locauto. I note that many previous Locauto renters have also complained about a delayed charge of 48.80 Euros. Surely this is an unautherized debit and I wish to know if this can be reversed. I also wish to have confirmation that this will not be repeated again and money again debited to my bank account.

As this is already the second time you proceed in this totally unjustified or even illegal way to use and abuse my Credit Card, I can only admit that your enterprise uses every means to get money from its clients.
3 months after our return from Alberobello, I didn't get any notice from Italian police authorities concerning your claim and I am not conscious of any infringement during our short stay there. And even if you got a request from the local authorities, I can't admit that sending my personal data corresponds to an administrative charge of 48.80 €.
Considering this, I strongly urge you to revoke the debit order on my visa card or to send me credible proofs:
about the request from your local authorities about my personal data;
justifying a charge of 48, 80 € for administrative work for handing over this;
Furthermore I request that you abstain in the future to debit my credit card for any service I didn't order, as in normal commercial relations, a client first orders an item before getting an invoice and paying this. You abuse completely of the contracts you sign with your customers and I can assure you that Locauto will be erased from the contact list and that I will transmit the information about your dishonest business practices to all people I can reach by our modern communication means.

unauthorized credit card charges
we rented a car from 1/7 to 5/7 from Milan airport. We had 1 traffic ticket for which we paid for in the post office and we sent a copy of the receipt but you charged us for 2 traffic tickets without any proof . There is no way we could contact customer services and there is no answer at any the phones provided on the website. We would like someone to look into it and reimburse us.

25/6/17 We hired a car in Bari airport and paid for an upgrade upon arrival. Our special holiday for our 25th wedding anniversary. Two days later (on our anniversary) our car broke down and had to be towed away. My wife and me were left in a small town to phone a taxi to take us to Brindisi airport to collect an inferior replacement car which we paid for after being promised by Locauto customer service they would refund.
This is SHOCKING - when my credit card statement arrived I was charged 90 euros for fuel as I had not filled the towed away car up. IT WAS TOWED AWAY!
Then guess what despite more than 15 emails to Locauto customer services they have still not refunded my 30 euro taxi fare and not responded to any emails. Have they gone into liquidation?
I did not want to complain here but they have renegaded on their promise and simply continue to ignore all emails and I have now run out of patience.

They have debited us 2x 48.80euro on the 6th November (we have rented a car on July), without sending us an invoice to explain the reason.
They don't answer the phone, i'm going to send an email but i don't think something will happen or someone will answer to me.
I lost my trust to this company! I think they are cheatting us guys! We have to move and do something about this!

Ref Ryan Air car hire booking confirmation IT748513960 5th August 2017 Milan Melpansa Airport.
You deducted 48.80 euros on 27/9/2017 from my credit card for a traffic incident that apparently happened 19/08/2017 11.59am in Florence. I believe the incident is associated with the toll that has to be paid when driving in the city. I parked the car in an official car park that meant I did not have to pay the toll charge. I have the parking receipt (Garage Michelangelo) dated 19/08/2017 12.21pm for the car in question; registration number FJ542TX.
I can send you a scan of the parking receipt if you can supply an email address.
I look forward to hearing from you shortly and a swift resolution to this matter followed by a refund of the 48.80 euros.

Hello i rented a car in Florence on the 6th September 2017 and returned the car on the 8th September 2017.
I have noticed my credit card has been debited for 2 payments of $73.26 aus dollars on the 23rd October 2017.
No one has contacted me or received any emails for these debits.

I have been debited by Locauto on the 06/10/2017 of 48.80 € and I don't know why. I have any explanations and they didn't warn me that they will take money.

Dropped my car off at Naples airport (FH518JP) and I accidentally left my glasses in the passenger door pocket. When I called up earlier on in the day they said they were there and to arrange courier pick up. After I got back to the UK on the same day I spoke to them again and now they report they have been lost! Thieves. If you want honesty and integrity do no use them!

I had hired a car from LOCAAUTO, Florence City dealer, Italy from 30 May - 02 Jun 2017 (Booking # IT786322450 Dt. 19 March 7). On returning the car on 02 June 17, a sum of € 130.06 being car rental was paid thru my Credit Card xxxx3332 which was debited to my card account on 19 March 2017.
Again on 06 June 17, a sum of € 106.14 was debited to my Card account xxxx2923.
Now again on 11 Sep 17, a sum of € 48.80 is debited to Card account xxxx2923.
Kindly let me know the details of services for which the three amounts were debited.

iL GIORNO 26.09.2017, la mia famiglia ha noleggiato un'autovettura Volkswagen "Tiguan" targata FJ422RR (CODICE PRENOTAZIONE 15662). Il giorno stesso, alla riconsegna, a Roma Aeroporto, viene constatato un danno (graffio non notato in precedenza). Tale danno viene inizialmente stimato in €100, 00 (cento), poi successivamente in €198, 00 (centonovantotto), somma che viene immediatamente trattenuta da un importo di €2.000, 00 (deposito cauzionale!? già prelevato dalla nostra carta di credito).
Dopo la stima di tale danno, la rimanente somma non risulta ancora restituita (circa €1.800, 00), quindi vi è in corso una appropriazione indebita atteso che che l'addetto ha riferito che lo storno sarebbe avvenuto entro un giorno.
Faccio presente che parte della mia famiglia si trova oltre oceano con l'impossibilità ad utilizzare tale Carta di credito, fatto che sta creando notevoli disagi.
Tanto si rappresenta in attesa di un immediato cenno di riscontro (TEL. [protected] MAIL: juventus1965.[protected]@gmail.com), riservandomi eventualmente, fin da ora, di adire per vie legali in caso di mancata restituzione immediata della somma, con contestuale blocco della suddetta Carta.

We collected a car from Verona airport which we booked through Auto Europe. The collection inspection was very rushed and the lady moved on to the next customer. When we drove away we noticed the fuel tank was slightly under full and the tyre pressure sign was on but we were stuck in a one way system so couldn't get out to mention it.
We took out our own excess insurance before collecting the car which they didn't seem too impressed by.
We cleaned out the car before dropping it off and took a picture of the fuel level. On return to England we received a notification of two charges, one for a scratch which they sent us a picture of that looked like a thin waxy mark of 6cm long. We checked the car over before we left it and it was definitely not there. We parked against a wall so nobody could have scratched it and the mark is not visible at all on one of the pictures (see attached). I believe they marked it with something to look like a scratch and charged us 280 euros . The other charge was refunded as billed in error. We have no way of contesting this scratch as there was nobody available to check over the vehicle when we were there. I think they know this and create fictitious damage. I would avoid these or take pictures of EVERYTHING and get them to check the vehicle with you when you are there. This should be compulsory with every vehicle hire in my opinion.
double charge of one way fee
I rented a car from Locauto in Pisa on May 27 and returned it, in accordance with the contract, in Roma, Fiumicino, on June 7. The car was booked through Holiday autos, Voucher no IT702211570. According to the voucher, one way fee was included in the price. Nevertheless my Mastercard was charged with EUR 116, 05 extra for one way fee.
I please ask you to refund this extra charge.
