Car rental - Milano - extra fee
I rented a car in Milano T1. I got back within time with the car, but their check out process was so slow, (only 1 men was in charge) that they charged me an extra day.
The customer service is ineligible, it cannot be used for any communication. They don't answer e-mails. I can only contact them via their website, which is useless, poor English. Really annoying customer service.

I rented a car from Lacauto on august 11, 2022 contract number mic3749, and we agreed that it would cost €548.02. I have an email to confirm this. Lacauto charged me € 1.008,36 and didn't notify me until two days after I returned the car. I want a refund for the 460.34.

We have made a booking for a car in Sicily via discovercars.com, (booking no DC-3278900) for the period 23rd May 2022 - 30th May 2022, to be picked up and returned at Palermo Airport.
We have picked up the car at Palermo Airport on 23rd May 2022 and paid both the remaining rental and the deposit of 500 Euro.
The car had also full coverage, so we made sure everything is covered.
We have returned the car according to the booking on 30th May 2022 in the same status as picked up, but we still haven't received the deposit of 500Euro placed on the card on 23rd May 2022 at the moment of the picking up the car.
The car had no damages, as we were not informed up to this moment of any damages. Therefore the deposit should have been refunded 4 weeks ago.
Up to this moment, despite our continuous contact via discovercars.com, we haven't received the deposit of 500Euro back and we haven't received any information regarding any damages to the car or any charges during our rental period.
The situation is outrageous, as the company is not entitled to keep the deposit in case of no charges or damages.
If no refund is done in the next days we will file complaint with the authorities.

Unsubstantiated damage claim nearly 6 months later
I rented a car from them, taking the car from Enterprise's Milano location, by the central train station. I returned my rental car to the same lady from Enterprise who checked my information and gave me the car on the first place. She walked around the car, looked inside, and checked the car's full tank, thanked me and said everything was fine and I could go.
FIVE and a half months after having returned the car, I receive a call that they're trying to claim my rental car had damage, and want ME to prove otherwise! I found out from this experience that I am not the only one they have tried to pull this on, and I am already reviewing it with my credit card company and will not be allowing them to commit fraud on me.
Lastly, good luck contacting them. You're forced to login through the website with your rental info, which does not go through, and they do not respond to a standard customer service email address.

Six months after renting a car from this company, I received a message saying that due to 4 traffic violations while I had the car (which I was never informed about) the company would charge me 48 euro per violation from the credit card I had given at that time as guarantee! This is not to pay the fines, it is over and above the police fines (for violations I am not aware of and have not yet recognized) simply because traffic violations are, according to their small print, a violation of the rental contract, and they are fining me for having been fined! I have never before encountered such exploitation, which has already cost me 200 EUR for nothing! As a disabled person, I am particularly offended for having been punished in such a way for daring to rent a car to drive around Italy!

We rented a car in 2018 through our travel agency in France. We took possession at the airport of Palermo/ Italy . The car was in good condition as practically new.
When we returned the car (in excellent condition) a week later we had an early flight and were obliged to put the car keys in their letter box.
A few days later we had the wonderful surprise on our account that we were debited of 139, 06 euros without any proof nor correspondence. After many phone calls and letters thru our travel agency we finally (5 months later) received a photo (without a date) of a slightly damaged rim on one of the front wheels.!

On collecting the car on 02/05/19 the member of staff noticed that the front left wheel rim had damage that was not previously recorded, so she added it to the vehicle file and showed me the red dot on her ipad where she was going to do so. I therefore did not take a photo of this damage. On returning the car 05/05/19 the member of staff checking the car noticed that the damage to front left wheel rim and said I was going to be charged for it has it was not recorded. I disputed this, as at no point did I curb the rim, it was significant enough that it would have been felt or heard by me as the driver and my wife as passenger. I refused to sign the agreement and I was informed I would receive an e-mail to dispute the damage to the rim prior to any charge being made. I received no e-mail and was charged £235.22 to my credit card without my authorisation. I did not cause the damage and request a refund to my credit card of £235.22. I am furious. Locauto rented me a car with a dangerously damaged windshield, did not record the damage upon consignment and I didn't notice it until I was on the highway. The damage report was emailed to me so that I saw it only when I had access to Internet service a few days later. Now Locauto is charging me for the damage! I am forced to accept to pay for something that did not happen under my rental. Locauto are so disorganized that when I tried to answer as indicated in their letter, I found Locauto customer service site does not exist. I cannot pay in Italy because I am in the USA. Dear Sir/Madam,
Locauto and its employees must refrain from strong offenses and acts of linguistic prejudice against clients. A very bad offense occurred against and my wife who could speak very little Italian. On September 30th my wife and I returned a car to Locauto (Via Giovanni Battista Pirelli, 15) around 11 am in Milan. We wanted to renew it for another period of twenty days. However, the Locauto attendant called Cinzia (a woman in her 50's, long back hair and blue eyes), treated us in a really rude way by being extremely arrogant, unwilling to speak ENGLISH with my wife. Things got really worse when I told the attendant I was having a problem with my credit card limit. So, the treatment she gave us was horrible. My wife asked her for a reference number during the cancellation of the car and the woman in a rude manner told her in Italian that she could not provide us with any reference number or paper. Obviously, my wife didn't understand her, so I asked her to speak in English with my wife, but she turned to me almost shouting and said: "tell your wife and she should be speaking in Italian!" (I suppose a rental car company based in Milan has employees who can speak in English too as it servers mainly tourists who are not obliged to speak the local language).
My wife was just requesting a receipt of the cancellation of the insurance and was not offending the lady at all. The employee denied this receipt or even a simple email under the ridiculous argument that no contract had been made. THEN THE INTOLERABLE ABSURD: she continued insulting my wife by saying in ITALIAN: "I do not know what this lady has", then left the desk in the sequence letting us alone there and completely speechless.
We are human beings that must be treated with respect. Or, at least, respect the customer who is closing a deal, who trusted Locauto in the first place! Speak deliberately in a language that the customer does not understand is similar to a spit on his or her face and implying: "You are not an Italian" and should not be here!, that is, an intolerable act of deliberate prejudice! Shame on you! I demand that actions must be taken by informing this woman about this intolerable behaviour. We spoke with Francesco, the Manager of Locauto Milan central station on the phone yesterday (October, 5th).

I rented a car of locauto via rentalcars from Pisa Airport in Italy July. The car was presented back in perfect condition with tank full and guy checking it agreed with all of that. Two months later I get THREE identical charges for 43.30 pounds on my account. I have filled out the form to complain about this and o response. No explanation what so ever. In my view this is the last frontier of the wild west where these cowboy outfits just steal money post rental without any come back

I have had no communication from the company about the possibility of extra charges, or any notification for their justification.

This is the reply I wish to send :
I can confirm this damage was not present on the vehicle when I left the car with your colleague at the drop off location. I parked the car outside the office for your colleague to inspect and to hand over the keys to him. Instead I was instructed to park the car in a very narrow space which took several attempts to get in this space, resulting in me only being able to get out of the car on the passenger side and squeezing through the small gap. I waited for your colleague to carry out the inspection but he just took the keys and was told I could leave. As I had checked the car myself earlier that morning i was 100% confident there was no damage so was happy to leave under his instruction.
i can only speculate that this damage is likely to have occurred by the car parked alongside where I was instructed to park, as there was no way anyone even slight bigger than me could have got into the car without banging the door against the wheel arch.
I therefore dispute that I am responsible for this damage.

To our disappointment this was done without our authorization. We had paid in full with full insurance so there should be no extra charges.
