Lucid Air order in 2021 with $1000 deposit
In 2021 I sent in $1000 deposit for a Lucid Air sedan and didn't get updates on my order until 2023 then when Lucid wanted to pay full price they didnt allow financing promotion(4.5%) on the price we agreed upon in 2021. They wanted to charge me another $15000 for the car I ordered 2+ yrs ago, so before my order was completed and before my car was delivered to Illinois, I canceled the order. Now, after waiting for 2+ years for a car, Lucid will not refund any of my deposit.
Desired outcome: Refund my $1000 or at least a portion of it (i.e. $750) for false promises & making me wait 2+ years....

I bought a car from Lucid Motors in late 2021. It took them seven months to deliver it. I only had the car for two months before it died after driving 380 miles. The roadside support was terrible and the customer service was even worse. They had to replace the battery in the car, which took almost two months to return it to me. I want my money back, but no one has responded to me. I'm considering using the lemon law to get rid of the car.

When I asked who authorized the cancellation or who requested it, they ain't saying nothing. Not cool, Lucid Motors.

Lucid sent a tow truck to take it to the service center for repair, which was covered by the warranty. The damage report said that a battery module short-circuited and needed to be replaced. But Lucid said that the storm wasn't the cause of the problem. They're returning the car to me, but I'm worried that there's a design flaw or defect that they're not fixing. I'm not accepting the car back and have complained to the ComplaintsBoard.com and Federal Highway Safety ODI. I want to warn other consumers about this potential safety issue.

I got an email from a delivery adviser on 1/17/2022 and another email with a VIN on 4/22/2022. I tried to reach out to support and my adviser, ***, but they were slow to reply. I complained to the main customer number and someone called me on 5/20/2022 to say that my car was in storage due to COVID. I'm paying interest on a loan I took out to pay for the car, but I don't know when it will be delivered. I've asked for a delivery date or a refund, but I haven't gotten a clear answer. I've paid $527.00 in interest so far. I want a clear answer so I can stop paying interest.

But Lucid contacted me on the 11th of January and said there was an issue with the car, so it would be delayed by a few days. I asked for my money back, but they said it would take 10+ business days to get a refund, so we left it as is. After a week, I asked for compensation because $126000 is a lot of money to be paying interest on without a car. I suggested $250/week, and they said they would consider it. The car was scheduled for delivery on 28-Jan-2023, but I told them I wouldn't take delivery until the compensation was sorted. On the morning of delivery, they said I would get $500 of compensation, which would be noted on the delivery paperwork. When I picked up the car, the delivery agent said I would get a call on Monday to go over the details of the return payment. But I received no contact from Lucid and eventually contacted them on Feb 9 for an update. Someone called me 2 days later and said payment would take up to 4 weeks from delivery. When I said this was not mentioned when we decided on the compensation, they said someone senior would contact me to talk specifics. But I had no contact from Lucid until I emailed them on Feb 15th and someone eventually called me on Feb 17th. They also said it would take 4 weeks and that they would check on the process and get back to me. But now it's 3-Mar-23, and I haven't heard anything from Lucid since Feb 17th. It's been more than 4 weeks, and I just want my $500 of compensation back that Lucid agreed to in person and in writing.

Me and my hubby got our new ride from Lucid on 18-Nov. But on 19-Nov, I found a leak in the coolant while driving to . I called customer service twice and they told me to drive back to *** and then to leave the car in LA for towing. The car was towed to the dealer on 21-Nov and they said the leak was due to a punctured pipe. They fixed it and towed it back to me on 25-Nov. But the car wouldn't start that evening. Customer service told me to restart it, but it didn't work. They then told me to put it in deep sleep and it worked. But the car wouldn't start again on 26-Nov. After multiple calls with customer service, the car was towed to Lucid on 28-Nov. They told me they found the issue in the week of 4-Dec but needed to fly an engineer to LA to fix it. I expressed my concern to the maintenance supervisor *** that I wanted to return the car, but was asked to wait for an offer from Lucid management. Lucid management *** called me on 9-Dec and offered me a new VIN as the car was still not fixed. When I asked when the new car would be shipped, she wasn't sure. I emailed *** on 10-Dec, asking for a full refund and she didn't dispute. The car was finally fixed on 16-Dec, but I still requested a full refund from Lucid. *** told me they weren't interested in buying back the vehicle. I also wanted to return the Lucid in-home charger. The last time I spoke with *** was on 28-Dec and I haven't heard from anyone at Lucid since.
