Over the last 3 months I’ve been trying to get back into Mayo for treatment of my Rare Disease. I had financial issues before and they stopped seeing me,
The issues cleared up.. I called the business office and spoke to a very nice lady about my situation and how to get back in good graces with Mayo.
She did all the computer lookups and told me I was good. No issue getting an appointment with my Current UHC PPO AARP health insurance. She transferred me to appointments. The First Lady told me they would need a verification letter and to fax it in to this number she provided. Did it. I call again and they tell me they don’t take my insurance.
I call UHC and they told me Mayo DOES take my insurance and it’s a PPO so there shouldn’t be any issues.
Fast forward couple of months I try again and again I’m told they don’t take my insurance. I called UHC again and they reiterated that they do take my insurance and that I should call the business office again.
I will do this again. Tomorrow the 16th.
This is ridiculous. My doctors at Stanford have spoken to the doctors at Mayo regarding my rare disease and my need for medical attention. Unbelievable.
