I am not sure what action you will take but this is serious incident not only for me but entire community that rely on McFee products and service. There fore please take action if not for me but also for your own reputation
Fraudulent activity started with this email and phone number on a name of tech support to refund back the amount of $399.99 which turned out to be request and not charged by me in first place. As a tech support guy he get hold of my Wells Fargo account to refund the $399.99. Then he said he would show me the money he deposited in my account but the screen went blank. Then he told me to enter the $399.99 to see the screen. While I enter the amount I am not sure how the number come up as $3999.99 instead of $399.99. So he demanded $3600 back by deducting deposited $399.99 back which was never appeared in my Bank account and it was verified by Wells Fargo Bank Manager and staff members. It was suspicious that he told me not to tell any one otherwise he will loose his job. Not only that he told me I have to stay outside the Best Buy and he will help me transfer the $3600 dollars for the McFee account. He chose Best Buy as I do not deal with Pay Pal. I had never used the online banking so he navigated my Wells Fargo account and he said it needs to change the password. He changed the password but never told me what it was. Thanks to Wells Fargo and private tech support guy helped me out of the mess. I still do not know if any amount was withdraw from any of my bank account or stolen and private information. Based on Wells Fargo staff investigation we discovered that he had manipulated my joint account with my husband when I had only insert the debit card for my account.
It is so sad that I felt so sorry for him that he will loose his job and due to companionate nature and not knowing weather it was really my mistake or his sneaky act to show me I made a mistake and trapped into his story that I have to return him $3600.
Thanks to Wells Fargo Staff that in reality, he had never made efforts to deposit $399.99 as a refund because he knew that it was never charged by me as it was a request and not actual charge. Therefore, I am sure he trapped me and convinced me to give him $3600 back otherwise he will loose a job and he does not even make $3600 a year,
Thanks to Wells Fargo Bank employees that help me get out of the fraudulent situation.
See the email sent to me then read the story I wrote to Wells Fargo Manager

I have saved the history link to show that McFee person had navigated the Wells Fargo account and he had not deposited $399.99 to any account. However, he tried to show me that he had deposited to account ending 8965 that showed $1810.84.
When he was trying to show me the total with deposited amount screen went black and he asked me to enter amount $399.99. Unfortunately screen was so dark and letters were so tiny that I might have wrote $3999.99 instead of $399.99. It is possible that he may have added another letter 9 to make it $3999.99.
When we decided to visit Wells Fargo he said he did not needed to deposit because it was just request to get 5 years McFee service.
What I did not understand is that if he had not deposit then why he has to show me the balance and then make me think I made a mistake by $3999.99 instead of $399.99 as he deposit money in the bank. Now he need $3600 back and keep the return money for the $399.99 which I had never send according to him that it was just request for the 5 year service.
Story did not ended there. To obtain $3, 600 he told me I can send him back by PayPal or Wells Fargo bank because they deal with McFee money transaction. He told me not to tell Wells Fargo employee because he can loose his job. Then he told me go to Best Buy and wait in Parking lot and someone would help me to transfer $3600.
My husband I realize that something is right. So we approach to Wells Fargo to make sure if he had deposited or withdraw money from my account.
When we were in Wells Fargo Bank, he was keep calling me from the phone #[protected] to not to tell anything to Wells Fargo Member. He can explain later. Mean while he might have
Thank you for listening

I have repeatedly tried to get the vendor to reverse a automatic renewal charge to my credit card. This started on Aug 6 2021. I did not authorize automatic renewal because I haven't used McAfee in years. I used Trend thru the Geek Squad at Best Buy. In spite of contacting the vendor, and Chase Bank, Barclays Bank, and AARP the charge remains on my Barclays account and keeps growing. MY credit score WAS over 800. I don't know what it is now. Case numbers 1-[protected] at McAfee. Case number [protected] at AARP. Case number [protected] at AARP. I have always paid my legitimate bills. This one is not and I will not pay it.

Colleen Betsinger; I got an email from codybeyer2010@gmail.com ...phone number [protected] this number is Texas. They also sent a biller ID for anti virus software. And a active code. I called [protected] this number is Massachusettes. I then called [protected] this is McFee customer service, I was on hold for 15 minutes and no one answered the phone. I turned this all into the United States Senate Committee on Senior Fraud. I then notified the FBI. This is not good for anyone. American citizens ripping off their own country men... and then we have other countries to worry about. Do not get scammed. All these people who are scammers will get caught eventually. Cody Beyer is a scammer. Thank you. I am not done with this . Als feel free to call the FCC.
Just like Rajeshree Par. I was fool and scammed. I received an email stating that my Mcafee subscription has been renewed and if I don"t want it I can get my money back. There was a phone #, so I called and he told me to full out a form which appeared on my computer. He told me to type in $50, when I put $50 , to my surprise $5,000 came up and said sent. He then tried to convince me that I made a mistake and type $5,000 and the money was sent to my account. He started to say in a sad tone that he would lose his job and he has a family to feed and so on so if I can send him back the money with four gift cards of $500 each and I must not tell anyone he would lose his job. That guy is a big time scammer, he has 4 different phone #s. Of course, no money was sent to my account. So be aware people especially senior citizens those low life scammers out there are trying to get you.
I received an e-mail today (3/14/2022) saying, (like others have) that my subscription to McAfee Total Protection was being renewed for $279.90 and if I wanted to cancel it I could, just call a specific number [protected]). And the e-mail came from someone named aszxepokler@gmail.com, which is suspicious of course. So, I didn't call because I have never used McAfee. I wish someone, McAfee or the government would do something about these lowlifes.
