i just wanted to say that i had a great experience at mcgrath highway chevrolet. the salesman, christian hill, was super nice and knew a lot about the cars. he was also really honest, which was refreshing. i think he's gonna do really well in sales if he keeps it up!
I got scammed by McGrath Highway Chevrolet
I got scammed by McGrath Highway Chevrolet. My car was filthy and the AC wasn't working, even though they said it was detailed. I asked for a different car within 3 days, but they didn't bother to clean it or give me a title. It's been over 37 days and they still haven't responded to me. I can't help but feel like they're treating me this way because I'm black. Don't trust this dealership!
Fond the truck I wanted online, called the dealer and talked about my trade
Fond the truck I wanted online, called the dealer and talked about my trade. Felt good about the deal. Drove 2 hours to get it, but the management was way off on the value. They used old tactics to try to take advantage of me. I wasted 4 hours of my day.
We bought an EquinoxLT from McGrath Highway Chevrolet on April 29
We bought an EquinoxLT from McGrath Highway Chevrolet on April 29. The sales guy, Dylan Harmon, was super helpful and paid attention to us the whole time. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We leased one Equinox, but changed our minds and wanted a different one that Skip suggested. They redid all the paperwork and sent us home happy. We'd tell our friends to come here for a good deal and great service.
Me and my wife bought a new GMC Sierra SLT in November from McGrath Highway Chevrolet
Me and my wife bought a new GMC Sierra SLT in November from McGrath Highway Chevrolet. I've bought a lot of cars in my life, but Dylan, our salesman, was the most professional and informative I've ever encountered. We got a great deal and were happy with the service and professionalism. In July, we had a house fire and both my wife's car and GMC were destroyed. I called Dylan about replacing my truck and reviewed what was on the lot online. I told him the two I would like to see and he said they would be ready for us when we arrived. The GM Skip Harmon and finance director Rae had all of our pricing and paperwork ready when we arrived. Very professional. We returned this past Monday to buy a car for my wife and again Dylan, Skip and Rae did an excellent job of having the car ready for the test drive and pricing. These are very professional and down to earth people and care about your business. I highly recommend buying a vehicle at Highway in El Paso, Il. Thank you Dylan, Skip and Rae for helping us in our time of need.
I went to Highway Chevy Buick GMC for the rebates, but I'm staying for the customer service that was way better than I thought
I went to Highway Chevy Buick GMC for the rebates, but I'm staying for the customer service that was way better than I thought. I worked with Dalton Cremeens who helped me choose between a 2021 Buick Encore GX AWD and a 2021 Chevy Equinox AWD. Dalton was super friendly and knew a lot about both cars. He told me about the different trim levels/options available and what he thought would be best for me. He didn't talk down to me or use fancy car talk - he answered all my questions in a way that I could understand. He even measured the cargo area of the Buick Encore to help me decide. I worked with Skip Harmon on the cost/financing for the 2021 Chevy Equinox. I told him that I've been lied to before by dealerships not only in financing, but by service departments too. I've never been treated with such respect and transparency with the cost of the vehicle/trade-in and all other fees. I didn't have to argue about the price. Skip listened to my needs and was fair about the trade-in/price of the new vehicle. Rae Harmon finished all my paperwork. She's super sweet and explained every document I was signing. I've never liked trading in/buying a car, but this was a whole new experience. I felt respected and the whole team at Highway Chevy cared about me as a person and not just another "sale". I'll be doing all my service work at Highway Chevy and plan on trading in/buying all my future cars at this dealership. Thanks so much Dalton, Skip, and Rae!
This place won't be in biz long with the peeps running it
This place won't be in biz long with the peeps running it. We visited on a Sat and there was nobody around shopping for cars. Maybe one other couple, but I couldn't say they were shopping. This dealership ain't in the biz of customer service or selling cars. We found the sales manager to be rude and insulting and our salesman to be nice but very new. We visited the dealership and test drove a car after giving the salesman our whole life story (name, address, email address, phone numbers, employer info, etc.). Actually liked the car and gave an offer that was totally disregarded. Thought about the offer over the weekend and called back on Mon to increase the offer. The salesman didn't remember us at all, or the offer we had made, (mind you we went through the whole life story, written down on paper). He checked with his sales manager, who we could over hear in the background, laugh and say that "he could sell the vehicle in the auction for more than he had it listed for on the lot". Unbelievable! Not only rude but insulting. If the car would sell at an auction for more, then it would be at an auction. Not to mention the $270 fee for air in the tires. What a joke. According to the *** report they offered, the dealership put the new tires on the car, now they want to charge $270 for the air in them. I don't believe offering $2,000 less then the asking price on a $33,000 car (that has been in an accident) is something that shouldn't be considered. The worst part, I still love the car! Just can't get them to work with you at all. They advertise "Text to save more $$$" what a joke, they add more $$$. We feel like if you plan to finance with them, they will work with you, but if you don't need financing, they aren't interested in making a sale. Is it a car dealership or a bank? Very disappointed and still in search of a car.
I dunno where to start, but I guess I'll try
I dunno where to start, but I guess I'll try. We test drove two cars and took one home, but it wasn't for us so we swapped it the next day. They said everything worked on the second one, but turns out the DVD player and air conditioning don't work. We told them we only wanted GAP insurance, but they pushed and we ended up getting it for $4,500. When we got the paperwork, they jacked up the price by $2,000. We live an hour away, so it's a pain to bring it in for repairs. We had a mechanic look at it and he said the door needs realigned and the DVD player needs a new screen. They sold it to us knowing it wouldn't pass their inspection. They said they'd call the warranty place, but they didn't help. We had to take it back twice to get it fixed and they only covered the air conditioning. They said the door leaking water is normal for Chevys. We spent $300 on their mistakes. It was a terrible experience.
This place was a nightmare
This place was a nightmare. I only gave it one star because Ashley helped me with financing, she was cool. I drove 4 hrs to buy a Pontiac G8 with 44k miles that they said was in "Great" condition. But the service manager who checks the cars before they go on the lot should be fired! The windshield wasn't sealed all the way and the seals were cracked and brittle (I got pics), the rear window was blurry, and there was only one wiper (I got pics of that too). The carfax didn't show anything wrong, but the seat brackets were rusted and the roof panel was hanging down. There was also knocking from the front left wheel. I would've had to spend at least 2k on repairs for a car with only 44k miles that was supposed to be in "Great" condition! And they wouldn't budge on the price even though they put 5k into it. But the shadiest part was when they ran my credit and got approval for financing, the price was $10,178 (I got proof). But when I checked their site 36 hrs later, they had raised the price to $11,250! And when I saw the paperwork, they put the sale price as $11,250 instead of the $10,178 I was approved for. They said their "system" changes the price based on the market, but they wouldn't honor the lower price I was approved for. They said no, even though they said they couldn't budge on the price when it was $11,250. It was just a terrible experience with no attention to detail.

I tried to buy a car from McGrath Highway Chevrolet, and the Sales Rep said it was available
I tried to buy a car from McGrath Highway Chevrolet, and the Sales Rep said it was available. But then they said they'd charge $5,000 extra for out of state buyers. I wasn't too worried because I had a GM Employee discount number. But when I told the sales rep, they talked to the sales manager and then said they wouldn't honor the discount. They asked if I still wanted to buy the truck for $5,000 more than the MSRP. I'm really bummed out about this dealership. They didn't handle the supply issues well and didn't honor the employee discount. They tried to charge over $60,000 for a truck that was listed online for $49,541. I don't know why the inventory searches and prices are different on GMC and GMFamily. Stock ID # ***.
They got a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica for sale on their website at two different prices
They got a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica for sale on their website at two different prices. I called them up and said I'd buy it at the advertised price of $19821. It's on Edmunds and Carfax too, I got pics to prove it. But then I found out it's also listed on ***r and their own site for $20512. I gave the sales guy my info and said I just need the sales agreement for my bank. But then they said there were three other people interested in the car at the higher price and wouldn't sell it to me for the advertised price. That's some shady stuff, false advertising and all. I got emails and texts showing I agreed to buy the car, and Dylan the sales guy even sent me a video of the car at 1:32. I said I didn't need their financing, just wanted to put a down payment on my credit card and get the agreement for my bank.
I went to check out an Equinox, but it was too pricey
I went to check out an Equinox, but it was too pricey. GM Skip showed me a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe for $16,750 with $750 down. We went to the finance office with Kimberly, who didn't explain what we were signing, just handed us papers. She did mention a free diamond fusion glass coating, which we confirmed. Rushed to close, we left with the car. The next day, I saw they charged me $18,000 and $499 for the diamond fusion. Skip said they add on propacks and force you to buy the diamond fusion, which isn't free. He apologized but did nothing else. This is a common problem. I want a refund for the difference and the diamond fusion, plus any taxes and fees from my loan.
