I received a text on Jan 9th from Rica at met credit telling me I owed them $5995. I messaged back and said, I don't have anything on my credit file showing that. And to please not contact me again. Then I awake this morning Jan 15th, to find 5995 on my credit report as in collections. But for what? How? I was never sent a letter, a bill, a breakdown of charges. I haven't been a Telus customer since 2015.

My husband had been receiving daily phone calls and texts from Met Credit with a debt that he's not even remotely financially or legally responsible or connected to.

Our friend, Douglas Middleton, passed away 23 months ago. We think his parting gift was to give these creditors my husband's number before he died. He was an alcoholic and died because of the disease.

My husband found him DEAD on the floor of his cabin!

No one from his family took on his estate and it was rendered to the district of Parry Sound because he had no assets, will or life insurance that we know about.

We have no relation to Douglas Middleton and HE'S DEAD! My husband was receiving calls from Met Credit even before he passed.

We have both spoken to employees at Met Credit, multiple times, explaining everything yet daily calls and texts continue. It disrupts my husband's working day, everyday. It's not only annoying and frustrating but also reminds my husband, daily, of finding him dead on the floor which is traumatic. It sounds, looks and feels like overt harassment.

My husband and I has explained OVER AND OVER that Doug is dead and we have no relation to him.

This is beyond ridiculous.

Perhaps this review will get someone's attention as we are ready to pursue further steps and legal action if possible.

Solve this issue now. It's been over 2 years. This is ridiculous.

Daily calls, for a debt I don't even have.. iv asked twice to be taken off the call list and continue to receive calls. Even when they are on my blocked list they still continue to call never leaving a voicemail or anything just daily calls. Super annoying.

I literally arrived in Canada a month ago, and very little I've done so far has been in my name. I have not had time to owe ANYONE money, let alone for it to go to collections -- this is how I know that whatever these guys are calling me for, it is NOT MINE. They're obviously just trolling whatever phone numbers they can come up with.

This company must go through old files and harass people there a joke , they seem to think that is only one person they don't know what mistaken identity is there are a joke throw out the papers they give you and even if you pay them they still don't renew your credit they tell you it is and no more but 6 months it starts all over again

Most disrespectful company- I was client with *** My account was fully paid I have release letter and all the details- This crazy company wrote in my credit that amount was forfit and just becuase of this company my dream house just get disappear like that. don't go to *** or this company for any thing. ' this guys play with your dreams

They are trying to charge me $506 for a phone bill of $158. First they offered me a settlement of $375. When I said I would make payments, it was raised to $506 with no pre-amble nor warning. For a $158 phone bill. I am calling the phone company directly to get this sorted directly and will not speak with this collection company. The interest of $348 on a $158 bill is laughable and should be illegal.

i've been getting nearly daily calls and texts from metcredit for over a year now for someone else ( a stephanie m***?) Not me. Told them this I don't know how many times, some reps tell me I wont get any calls anymore, that they've removed my number, some just hang up on me when I tell them i keep getting calls/texts and my name is not stephanie m***. But they just keep on coming. So flipping SICK of this! Nearly every day, texts, calls, from different numbers, some outright say they are metcredit on the display, some just from random numbers. This is ridiculous, I am not stephanie m***, I keep telling them, like what in the hell do I need to do to stop getting these harassing phone calls?!

Just found out I have an *** bill in collections. After I got denied for credit help to pay it off I called the collections agency to let them know. What was her name... ***? Anyway, she became very rude asking when my next pay day was, I told her and told her I couldn't make a payment for at least another month. She asked me what my bills were on my next pay day. *** She berated me and me feel worthless. I get that you're in collections but that is NOT the way to go about it. I even promised her full payment by the end of february and that was not good enough for her. Terrible customer service. Next time I call them it will be for the methods of payment they accept. I'm a single mom, you don't berate me for such a small amount in collections that I didn't even know was in my name. Shame on you!

tried to collect money for an account that was paid in full and closed, when I tried to inform this collection company this file and credit report was made in error they tried to get me to settle the account rather than peruse the fact that I owned nothing to the company they were collecting for. Their staff were rude and refused to do anything other than collect an amount that was sent to them in error. My credit file took a 50 point hit *** The company that sold them the file has reversed the charges as it was in error. I have given 40 days for my credit history to reflect this. If I do not get back the 50 points I will be forced to sue them in civil court for negatively affecting my credit file *** that I in fact owed any money that I did not. I have recorded all calls and document the entire experience. ***.

Metcredit will not stop calling me saying i owe *** over 700$ for when I had them for a month back in 2019, i did not recieve an email, a letter/bill in mail nor a phone call from *** telling me I owe them money. I came across this problem with them when they called my little brothers cell demanding payment NOTE my little brother has autism and I never once in my life put his name down on any kind of form. He called me saying these people are trying to collect owing money. I called Metcredit to figure out whats going on and they told me i owe money. A red flag is when the agent told me if I pay it now, that he will give me 50% off of what i owed so from over 700 to 350. Which i found odd and told him i would like to call *** first to see whats going on. He told me if you hang up I cant guarentee you another agent will give you the same deal. Another red flag is method of payment, i asked what their mothed of payment was and he said you can pay by credit card or by Email transfer, ODD I know. I hung up, checked my credit score and nothing about ***. Recently I had to block them 3 times, they are using different numbers to call every time. Yesterday I told the agent I didnt owe anything and I refuse to give them money, He questioned every single word that came out of my mouth, upsetting me ***, I told him I'm not the first to have problems with them about a so called *** bill and he told me they have a A+ rating on ***. I said yeah right, that anybody can get a fake rating, it was on 20/20 he began to laugh at me. I want them to stop.

Met Credit have been calling my cell number non stop multiple times daily for a reason that is not directly associated with me. They are looking for collections involving someone I know. I have asked them in multiple occasions to stop calling as I have no idea where this person is & I have nothing to do with this debt they are trying to collect. I have file a formal complaint with consumer protection. I have MetCredit to remove my number from their system. They call from different numbers day & night. I have blocked them but now blocked calls are even ringing in my phone. If this does not cease, I will contact a lawyer & have a formal harassment suit filed.

I have two credit collection companies harassing and threatening me about a debt. I have been trying to get them to confirm who is supposed to actually be collecting my account so I know who to pay. I tried to ask the original company who it was (***) they basically told me they don't know (which you guys accepted as an acceptable response somehow by the way) and now this second company is threatening legal action but how is it not fault that they can't figure *** out and give me a simple answer as to who is actually supposed to hold my account ? They are trying to charge me interest for me not paying while they are a mess trying to sort it. I'm not paying a debt twice, it doesn't seem unreasonable to want a simple answer of who my money should be going to !

I have been getting phone calls daily from Met Credit. When I answered, the person didn't realize they had been the ones to call me, asked for the phone number(which they had called!), and went on to ask other information of me. At that point I told them *** that I would not give them further information *** and to stop calling me. They have continued to call multiple times per day, to the point that I had to block the number, but they are still leaving voicemail messages that are just silence. *** I know for a fact that I do not owe any money to anybody and would like to stop being harassed for no reason.

I have advised MetCredit on multiple occasions that I do not agree to the charges on case ***. This is a contractor who is trying to spin the story and say that I owe him money for a fence he built, when in fact, the amount due has already been paid in full. I advised MetCredit that if the contractor chooses to dispute further, we can do so in court. I refuse to have my credit effected based on the word of someone else without having a chance to defend myself. It is within my right to request that the matter be taken to court and while awaiting a legal judgement the matter be removed from any credit and or collection agency. MetCredit is violating this right by not honoring my request. My desired resolution is that case *** be closed, and I receive no further contact from this company. If the contractor then wishes to pursue legal action, that will be their prerogative. Thank you.

In June I filed a consumer proposal. In July I completed the proposal and received a discharge. In my proposal I included *** as a creditor. They reported over $6500 via a collection agency for the past 5.5 years on my credit report. Most recently Met Credit has been trying to collect this. Over many phone calls and complaints, *** reduced the amount to $555.00 plus over $700 in interest. I have requested a copy clearly stating what they claim I owe. All that Met Credit has provided is one invoice dated July 27,2017 for $1100.00. They stated I used the phone after the proposal was filed. The proposal was filed on June 30,2016. I have requested proof of phone usage and the associated bills after that date, and they will not provide. Met Credit recently changed the amount owed on my credit report to the reduced amount, but I still have no information on what I owe. I am willing to pay a legitimate bill, but I am not paying interest for almost 6 years.

They refuse to give details regarding a debt, are very rude in emails and on the phone, yet demand you send money to an account number with no other information. Refused to basically "send me a bill" so I can see what the debt is and trust its going to the right place and arrange a proper payment plan but they won't. They Held my account for just over 3 yrs with only contacting me once in 2020 *** I told them to send me proof of who they were and debt info and they never did *** I do not trust them to give them even a penny until this information is given and I can validate everything. *** I want an apology, an adjustment to the balance and a proper bill sent to me with all the proper info regarding the amount owed and payment plan.

We received a notice from MetCredit that we in arrears with a hotel in British Columbia (***). We owned a timeshare with *** and *** cancelled the timeshares in late 2019. We paid all our fees to complete the cancellation and we have the emails (for amounts owing) as well as the cancelled cheques to prove that we paid it all in full in March . In May , MetCredit started a collections action against us in the amount of $1629.07 on behalf of ***. We have NEVER received any invoice from *** in the amount of $1629.07 and when we requested the invoice and explanation from ***, they do not have an invoice or record of it. Essentially, MetCredit proceeded without any contact with us or evidence of an invoice/amount owing. We can easily pay the bill, but there isn't actually a bill! MetCredit did zero due diligence to determine there was monies owing, as well as zero due diligence in their business. MetCredit does not respond to any of our phone calls or emails

We have been receiving harassing phone calls for the last 3-4 years if not longer. They keep asking for other people not us.. I keep telling them they have the wrong number and to remove my number and stop calling and harassing us. There is myself and my wife *** here. No one else lives here. I have been told over and over that they would place our number on their "DO NOT CALL LIST" and the calls would stop. They haven't. I have already had 2 this month so far and I told them the same thing! I have had it with this company! I warned them last year that I would file this complaint right after I talked on the phone with an individual at the local Complaintsboard.com in Calgary. If this continues I will seek financial compensation for this harassment. We are not in collections for anything so they need to quit harassing us. *** Please try and set them straight so this stops. I really don't need the hassle of changing my phone number and the aggravation of notifying ALL necessary contacts to update their records. Met Credit needs to LOSE my phone number PERIOD!

I have received multiple phone calls to my phone number (that I've had for more than 20 years). Since I started keeping track I've received 9 phone calls since September 25th. I'm unable to go back and search for more without some serious effort. I've spoken to 2 different individuals asking them please stop calling for someone named *** (please note the spelling will not be correct as I have no idea who this person is). They are clearly trying to collect money from them on behalf of ***. I've explained each time I've spoken to someone that I am not *** nor do I know them and they need to stop contacting me as it will not get them anywhere. I was told that they would continue to call and that this person must have had this phone number before me - not possible. And that they could not remove my phone number from his account without some number that I should be able to get when they autocall me. *** Calls received - Sept 25 12:17p, Sep 27 11:37a, Sep 29 4:29p, Oct 6 1:48p, Oct 13 11:41a, Oct 18 10:56a, 2:17p (spoke to a person on the 10:56a call), Oct 21, 2:19p, Oct 22 1:24p - attempted to press 1 as directed to speak with someone but I have a job and couldn't wait on hold for the length of time I was on hold.

As of 2020, They have ruined my credit by *** placing a debt collection on me personally for something that was done through a music festival run by Incorporated companies business. *** their client owes me money which she was serviced an invoice and never paid me as well! I have waited now over a year for them to correct this error but continue to have this wrong information on my credit report. I've provided proof and documentation to show their client has been lying about the events and that their client actually owes me money and this is all a civil matter but I still have this account in collections showing I owe debt on my personal credit report. I have included proof for the case number with Metropolitan Credit Adjusters Ltd.*** Their client straight up lied about this file and has ruined my credit and these guys did not do their due diligence and research. information is online, *** and I provided the information. They can't say I owe and dealt with the client but then say I didn't book the client and handle those logistics and shouldn't be paid! I spoke with her management, not the client after emailing many times but the client didn't understand the various companies involved and the fact I had to sue people as well and still am dealing with the matter post COVID! *** I didn't sign anything with her for just my name! and all promotion materials and hotels booked all show proof of Incorporated businesses, not just one person me so they should not have been able to report to *** and only affect my PERSONAL CREDIT!

My daugher asked if I could be her guarantor for a small student loan through my bank. I agreed and the application was made on October 6th. The application was declined on October 22nd. My bank cited an unusual debt that has appeared on my credit bureau with ***. The amount of debt placed onto my credit bureau without my knowledge was in February by 'MetCredit' for $2,351.00 I was extremely alaremed because I have no idea whatsoever what the debt is for? I managed to contact 'MetCredit' on Friday, October 22nd at 4:33pm. I was informed that the debt was given to them by their client in June . I was told that the amount of debt at that time was a little over $900.00. I am further alarmed because this debt seems to have come from a past cellular account with *** that was closed in April , I have no idea whatsoever where the amount of $900.00 comes from and most certainly not $2, 351.00 placed on my credit bureau without notifying me. I have never received any e-mail, phone call nor letters from 'MetCredit'. The only information that I have on file is from *** cellular service dating back to April when the account was cancelled. On cancelling the account with ***,I explained that I was laid-off, without a job and could not afford the cellular service. On speaking with MetCredit on October 22nd, they didn't have any correct information on myself. The e-mail address that she gave is incorrect. The telephone number that she gave is incorrect. The only information that was correct was my home address. I asked why I haven't received any letter nor information from MetCredit? I wasn't given an answer. I have received no notifications whatsoever from MetCredit. I only realized that a debt was placed on my credit bureau by MetCredit for $2,351.00 is by coincidence as I was being a guarantor for my daughters student loan.

The above mentioned *** account has been reported to *** and *** as a re-opened collection account with an alleged balance owing. A written breakdown of the debt from when it was due and payable before the date it was placed with your agency. A written breakdown of the debt from when it was due and payable after the date it was placed with your agency. A written breakdown of payments applied to the account before *** sent a final written request for payment. A written breakdown of payments applied to the account after *** sent a final written request for payment. Any future communication regarding this matter is to be written sent by regular postal mail, phone calls not accepted at this time. *** In fairness mistakes happen and as such it is requested that METROPOLITION CREDIT ADJUSTERS LTD Cease and Desist further collection action(s) including the reporting of inaccurate information regarding this *** account. The balance that METROPOLITION CREDIT ADJUSTERS LTD reports regarding this re-aged account is a method to keep the account active past the date of last activity - which is a known vindictive collection measure that serves to keep this matter alive as long as possible through the use of misleading inaccurate information, which prevents resolving this matter as quickly as possible. Legislation of the province of *** in conjuction with federal legislation does not allow for the collection of debts by fabricating information that creates inaccurate information within an individual's credit file. Failure to take appropriate steps to stay within the guidelines of current provincial and/or federal legislation in place may result in a civil claim being filed against METROPOLITION CREDIT ADJUSTERS LTD. Please note: During times of force majeure as a result of artificial man made pathogens ie: Covid-19 further necessary collection measures to collect this debt may be considered a form of cruel unusual harassment as the lack of preventative measures so far taken by the establishment has left only knee jerk reactions which are unpredictable but certain to be a source of hardship for many.
