Monterey Financial Services Never use this business!

Never use this business! Their online reporting is not correct and does not share current, up to date information which leads to threats of sending you to a credit collector. I paid my remaining balance in full in January based off of the information listed online and then was notified that I had a past due amount. It took Monterey Financial so long to process my payment that it made my payment late and the account remained open causing additional fees. I was left several voicemails and I returned each call, but was sent to voicemail and I left messages. I made several attempts to get this corrected, but it would take multiple days before anyone would return my call which led to the account being open another month and guess what...another fee.Monterey Financial, no need to respond to this message, please focus this time on current customers so that they're not put in a position like I was.

I have one final payment of $91.54 and all 11 of my payments have been on time and so I called to confirm my last payment and the rep was like you have one payment left would you like me to tell you your total payment I said sure she says $95.63. I replied, I thought said it was $91.54 and she said you agreed to pay the interest. I said what? So what if I didn't call in? and she says then it would have just fell off and your payments would be final. It's not the fact I would have to pay $4.09, it's the fact that when my payments were set up it an extra $4.09 was not in the contract. As if I owe them a favor for adding interest to my contract. This is how you run your business preying on people that have made all on time payments and tricking them into paying an additional $4.09 and if they refuse to pay what they didn't owe you would just report them to the credit bureau. SHAME SHAME SHAME on you Monterey Financial Services LLC.

really helped me out with my Monterey account. I was able to use the 30 day pay in full for my account. This is my second time using them and every time I read the contract in full. You all should as well. It's always an advantage when making a big purchase. I will be using them again simply because *** was very personable and was very patient with me when my voice wasn't there b/c i was sick at the time of our conversation.

Monterey Financial Services The person I actually got to finally talk to was nice

The person I actually got to finally talk to was nice. Unfortunately being shuffled around being transfered being told "sorry that is not my department" " that is financing" and being told to call back was a bit too much for me and oh did I mention being told the wrong number to call and getting hung up on. *** financing as I was told is a third party entity that deals with Credova accounts. Wait what, a company that works for another company to collect for them. Hmmmm... some might say that was like playing 3 card *** on some street in Brooklyn. Seriously, if a company holds my account and wants me to pay it then answer your phone so I can. 45 minutes and verifying my name, address, phone number and DOB more than 5 times is past my patience level. Don't make a "you" problem a "me" problem. I will seriously reconsider not using this ever again what a pain in my fourth point of contact. I almost called the state attorneys office to file a complaint.

I received an interest free loan through $2500 through a company called Credova but before making my first payment my contract was sold without notice to Monterey Financial and they notated it as a lease on my credit report and the amount due was almost tripled the amount of the original amount. I proceeded to make the monthly amount due of $*** until I hit financial issues due to disability insurance and other medical issues. I called and set a payment arrangement for December where they would take half of the *** on Dec. 31, 2021 and the other half on January 14, 2022. Both payments were taken but I set another payment arrangement in the same manner as the last. However, they took the $*** 1/20/2022 and proceeded to take the arranged payment on 1/31/2022 which messed up my account. I was advised by my bank put in a dispute with them, the credit bureau and the ComplaintsBoard.com. So here I am. I tried calling Monterey and they wanted to dispute me on what they arranged with me. They are a SCAM as well as Credova who sold my account to them.

Monterey Financial Services I purchased some coaching with this company as the financial servicer

I purchased some coaching with this company as the financial servicer. Forty percent of my regular monthly payment goes to interest. When I try to make a payment other than the auto payment at that rate, which I cancelled so I could have more control over my payments, they charge $15.00 for payments made over the phone and $10.00 for payments made at their website. The one girl I asked about why they charge so much gave a vague answer about keeping the website running, processing and other meaningless reasons. My own local utility company charges less than four dollars for the same processing. As soon as I can pay this debt off, I will, and I will NEVER do business with Monterey Financial again. I STRONGLY recommend that if you're doing business with someone whose processing goes through this company, that you absolutely REFUSE or you will be wasting so much money on interest and unreasonable fees. They should be ashamed of themselves. The "A+" rating they get with the ComplaintsBoard.com really should include customer reviews or else the rating itself is misleading.

Having only recently made a purchase via *** by way of ***, and seeing my contract sold to Monterey, I've been diligent in ensuring my bank debit information is valid and sound. Reading alot of the horror stories with this agency I'm getting worried. My first payment is due 9/5 today. Per the contract if the payment date for debit falls on a weekend, their contract stipulates the debit will take place the preceding Friday (yesterday), which didn't occur. I tried calling them yesterday and today, but despite the welcome message stating they are open on Saturdays on a limited basis, offices are closed. I sent a message requesting confirmation of my payment information. The contract has valid account and routing information listed. I hesitate to initiate a secondary payment, but I'm concerned they will use this glitch as a justification to negate my 90 days same as cash offer I originally signed up for, and be assessed many fees, as seems to he their business model. Hopefully I'm overreacting, but based on what I've read so far about them, I feel as if I made a horrible and costly mistake in trusting *** and ***.

Monterey Financial Services I'm a little upset at what I'm seeing and reading these comments

I'm a little upset at what I'm seeing and reading these comments. I called today(10/13/2022) to get help in understanding my account. I started paying in March $308.76 and it has increased to $310.76 with a $2.00 extra fee. On May 19, 2022, my bank account was compromised and the bank was helping me to correct the situation. I called Monterey to explain the situation and was charged a $10 fee for non-sufficient funds. I felt it should had been waived, but it wasn't. The gentle I spoke to, was getting frustrated as I was because I couldn't understand what he was saying to me, so he put me on an automated system to give all my information again, then it was asking me about the promotions I didn't care about. I just wanted to speak with someone about my account. With these 10 months I've been paying which is over $2,000 dollars total thus far and my balance is like I've haven't been paying anything. I'm not understanding what's going on and I'm getting a little frustrated with companies taking people's hard earned money with these high interest rates that I was unaware of. I'm very concernced. I really don't think I would refer this company to anyone. I need someone to help me with this situation. Maybe I need to get the news to help me with this situation..

Monterey Financial Services This company is pathetic

This company is pathetic. They are nothing more than a script. They push for electronic payments, and fail to mention that $10 of the payment is a fee. If you miss a payment for the first time in years. they will call you and leave a voicemail saying that they have made multiple attempts to reach you that have all gone unanswered even if it's the first call; this is a lie that they have written into their script. Employees at their call center treat people with total disrespect, and communicate as if they are some type of law enforcement: "Your return call is not optional and is required immediately..." I wanted to change my payment date, and again they wanted $10 to change the date. ***BEWARE*** if your paying with a card $10 of your payment is being taken for profit, and does not go to your balance. It does not matter if you pay on line or over the phone they are going to steel $10 from you. It is 2020 and it does not cost them $10 to process an electronic payment. If it does they should contract with *** who could handle all their payments for $1.85 fee to the consumer.Their whole system is set up to overwhelm the consumer, right down to the constant beeping they play in the background of every call. MONTEREY FINANCIAL SCAMMERS is their real name. A+ That is a laugh.

Monterey Financial Services Monterey Financial one of the most unprofessional representatives I've ever dealt with

Monterey Financial one of the most unprofessional representatives I've ever dealt with. I was calling to settle an account that was transferred to this agency. Tessa, the rep that spoke to me was very rude and lacked any kind of professional communication skills. She wanted me to give her a credit card, but I explained that my card was maxed out. She started telling me to ask relatives and friends for money, to pay the debt and if I didnt she would take legal action. I told her it didn't matter, I cant give you something I don,t have. I was trying to explain that I didn't have the money they were asking for, but I did have an amount I could pay. I asked if she would send a second request to the originating company that sent the debt to collections, to see if they would reduce the amount owed to something reasonable for me. She said no, due to this being the second request and the first being denied. I didn't know how much I could come up with, but she insisted I needed to give her an amount or she wouldn't try and she didn't; she wanted me to set up a payment plan, but honestly, after reading all the reviews and how their payment plans were setup, I didn't trust this agency to be honest. I asked again for her to reach out to the original organization, but she insisted I get the money from someone and then she hung up on me. I called back to speak to someone else and was able to get the account settled. Tessa needs customer service training or to find a new job field. She is definitely giving this organization a bad name. I've read numerous reviews where this is the case; again, that is why I didn't trust getting into any plan with them. Their assessments are true. Thank You Tori for your professionalism and helping me to complete this transaction.

I did not hear of Monterey Financial until my letter to the *** asking to opt out, ( as I was verbally told was an optioned assured that it was in writing by the one who signed me up), due to my homelessness due to a fire. Their response , after a succession of messages left by me was a series of threatening phone conversasions . Whoever I was talking to at the time pretended having no idea of notes made to the account by others, everyone threatening, insulting and intimidating me as if a criminal. The technic of having you sign documents that supposedly you reviewed is fraudulent. They take the paperwork in the back somewhere and because you just spent hours going through a stack of papers called your contract and your agreement to it, when they come out for your signature, you do not imagine that it could be different from your discussion. My $2000.00 + free of interest plan at 125 a month after the first month of 141 over a 2 year period became a commitment of over $8000.00 over 60 months with my signature because I did not realize that the actual contract was changed in it's entirety at the time. I am a single aged person who rents an apartment, I would never have signed a commitment of that magnitude for vacations ? please. After several conversations, one named ms B sends responses ignoring more than half of your questions. after I made payments in the meantime to wait for a resolution they claim my payment was rejected and refuse to give me verification of rejection. I get calls every day threatening me. I again called THE *** at the *** where David or Michael (don't recall) stated that I was written off as bad debt and that since I was homeless there was nothing they could take from me. What was the big deal now? This should be illegal as it is immoral. What can I do?

Monterey Financial Services attempting to make changes on my payment talking with author gave him personal info author transferred me to **** gave him personal info

attempting to make changes on my payment talking with author gave him personal info author transferred me to *** gave him personal info. gave me account managers info *** ext *** switch me to *** account manager. told her I'm not able to of *** a month *** said she won't be able to do that. I asked are you refusing that amount I was told to mail in that amount. also was told that my interest rate was 18% and that *** only 23 will go to the interest and about a dollar a month to the principle, her tone came across as pushy I find that when you are telling a creditor you are unable to make payments and would only be able to pay *** a month and they refuse. the harsh term I want be able to do that when we are living in a pandemic and providing during the holiday season this company is aggressive in tone and action their interest rates are high, late fees are high. using fear tactics such as 18% interest rates only a dollar a month to principle. this company in my opinion collect debt for companies that prey on people who are desperate and struggling to billed their credit. this is why people don't call collection agencies and hide. because when you are in a bad place. and you are trying to make improvements they report negatively to collection beuro lowering your score. making your life miserable. When I signed up for a *** which is whom this debt is for I did so on the premises of building credit I probably shouldn't have taken the agreement. but i did and then the pandemic hits and I lose my father and father-in-law in the same year of 2020 I made a career change in in December when I'm finally able to make payments I say ill pay one dept at a time and this is what I did, and this company Monterey financial made the experience belittling and stressful and intimidating. i give no stars and 6 thumbs down

Monterey Financial Services This company has to be the worst I've ever dealt with

This company has to be the worst I've ever dealt with. I purchased some items from *** and was under the impression I was using *** for my financing. After the lease was signed I was later notified that monterey financial would be handling my lease. They literally charge a fee for every thing! They charged a $10 fee to change the due date, a fee to pay my payment online and a fee to take it off of recurring payments. My payment was due on the 15th and was still on auto pay at this time. The payment hadn't been taken from my account on the due date so I proceeded to make the payment online so it wouldn't be late. I thought by doing so it would make my account current and the auto pay would offset. Even after making this payment and it cleared my bank the same day, monterey processed the auto pay anyways 5 days after the due date which caused my account to go negative because I thought I had already paid it. After several failed attempts to contact monterey by phone(i left a message) the "help" button on their website where I submitted a question about my account and by email. I never received a response. Horrible customer service. I had to then contact them a fourth time by phone and finally got a rep. He was very rude and offered no compassion for my situation. I should've never been charged a fee for the NSF since I made the payment online on my due date. I had no idea that *** was going to sell my lease to this company and I would strongly recommend no one to use this company, unless you like to pay a fee for even trying to pay your bill. monterey has a A+ rating with the ComplaintsBoard.com but it clearly states that "Customer reviews are not used in the calculation of ComplaintsBoard.com Rating" which is ridiculous because montery has so many bad 1 star reviews. I would never purposely use this company and would not recommend to anyone!

Monterey Financial Services My biggest mistake of 2019 was entering into a contract with Monterey Financial

My biggest mistake of 2019 was entering into a contract with Monterey Financial. I am beyond frustrated in dealing with them at this point. They were offered as financing when I had made a purchase online. To take responsibility, I guess I should have read the fine print better as the interest rate this company is charging me is around 70%. My payment has been $133 a month with about 12 bucks actually going to the principal balance...well it was. The auto-draft missed the funds a few months back and instead of a second attempt, or contact from a real human being instead of an auto-dialer that on numerous occasions has hung up when I've answered. The missed payment has been just building up since February this year. At this point has left a huge dent in my credit. The frustrating part of this as well is the fact that they continually have taken successful payments since that time, but instead of those consistent monthly payments that have been came out successfully alleviating the prior outstanding, its almost like they skipped it. So when I finally today was able to speak with a very rude and interruptive agent on the phone, she basically interrupted me anytime I was logical about the situation giving run-around explanations and raising her voice. No empathy was even remotely present for the fact that my credit shows me 60 days past due, contrary to my bank account, and hell even my online account showing successful payments every month, except for the one in February. Also to note is that for approximately four months now, my $133 a month payment has applied $0 to the principal, and my balance owed has increased by $300 from the initial $1903.53 to the present $2214. My payments to this company have been for nothing, when the were applying my payments towards the actual principal it has typically been a measly $13-17. However most of everything gets absorbed into excessive late fees (note: late fees are more than anything they have ever actually applied to my principal) and insanely excessive interest fees. This company is aggressive and auto-dials me at least once a day, it is everything short of harassments. Sometimes these calls are as early as 8am, which if they call that early, you better believe you will be getting more calls that day...Unbelievable...I wished I had never went into any agreement with this terrible company.

Monterey Financial Services Monterey Financial is a collection company for First Choice Travel Barbados

Monterey Financial is a collection company for First Choice Travel Barbados. They put a collection on my credit report, but First Choice Travel told me to cancel and I found the "verbal" recording that was lost last month. We were on a cruise that stopped in St. Maarten in *** 2018. A lady gave us a "lottery" ticket on the beach that said we won a free trip prize and to collect from a nearby business. When we went to collect, we got pressured to join the First Choice Travel club. We were told we could cancel and did cancel, after less than a week. My wife contacted Francisco ***, sales person in St. Maarten and he told her to email him to cancel, and he would cancel. Wife immediately sent him a written cancellation and waited 2 weeks. We did not hear back and wife contacted him to see if cancelled. Francisco refused her calls. My wife recorded the call. Monterey told July upon collection.

Monterey Financial Services On 6/24, I wanted to buy something on ClassicFirearms.com and saw the option to finance

On 6/24, I wanted to buy something on ClassicFirearms.com and saw the option to finance. The ad said if I pay the first amount before 90 days, I won't have to pay any other fees. So, I clicked "apply" for that option and after I applied, it said I was approved. They didn't say I was approved for something else. It e-signed the contract after I checked a box. I thought I was approved for what I applied for. I paid off the original price of *** and called Monterrey Financial to confirm my balance was paid before 90 days. They said it was a lease and I signed the contract. The total lease amount would be ***. I didn't apply for a lease. I don't need to buy out a 12 month lease after paying off my initial balance.

I had a surgery in 2016 and the surgery was $3600 add the $1000 down payment. I had made several payments which have never been shown nor subtracted from the balance. Monterey Financial Services double hit all three of my credit reports with the same account twice. they changed the amount by $1 and the last number in the account number. Some how I went from owing $4600, not counting the payments that were made till today thay have me in collections again, twice on each report for almost $15000! so I have almost $10,000 worth of interest in barely 3 years? How?> I have wrote to them nermous times and even sent certified and notarized letters and emails and all I hear is Crickets. They never send me the documentation I ask for disputing the balance. But yet they keep upping my balance each month. If I am disputing a balance and send certified and notarized letters. they need to respond! This company is so shady and I wish I never had the surgery. To my understand under the fair credit reporting act you cant try to double collect on the same balance. This company has ruined my credit and judging by all the negative complaints. They do that to alot of people. I am going to talk to an attorney a file a lawsuit against them.

Monterey Financial Services I tried Luminess makeup and got a sample

I tried Luminess makeup and got a sample. They said I could cancel anytime. I got the sample but didn't like it, so I paid and canceled the monthly thing. After a long time, I got a letter from Monterey Collections Service. I told them what happened, but they said I still owed money. I only got the sample and paid $19.99. Now Monterey put it on my credit report and said I owe $224. That's not right. They can't lie on my credit report. I need ComplaintsBoard.com to help fix it. Monterey is doing fraud by lying. The account number is *** and the phone number is ***. Thanks.

I bought something that was supposed to be a 6-month same as cash deal. But when I got the contract by email, it said I had to pay in full within 30 days or face a penalty. I called the company I bought from and cancelled the order right away (like in 5 minutes). I cancelled it! I tried to call them a bunch of times after that, but they never picked up. So I sent the whole amount within 2 weeks, but they sent it back and now they're charging me $99 for being late because they say I didn't pay. They didn't tell me by email that they sent the payment back, so I didn't know until they sent me a late notice. I've tried calling them a bunch of times, but nobody ever answers. If I pay the 12-month plan they have me stuck with, it'll cost me more than double the original price. And since they didn't tell me they weren't taking the full payment, it's too late to pay in full now. So they're charging me double for something I cancelled and won't even get.

Monterey Financial Services So I called on my wife's behalf to pay her bill for a dog that she had purchased for the family a few months back

So I called on my wife's behalf to pay her bill for a dog that she had purchased for the family a few months back. She told me that I only had to pay them the remainder of the dog for its original price which would have been around $2500 or so because of taxes and fees. Well, when I called them I spoke with a representative who tells me that to settle the account for 75% of what is owed I have to pay them $4700 dollars. I told the lady this is not what my wife was told and she proceeded to inform me that it was in the contract my wife signed secondly this was supposed to be financed not a lease agreement. I explained that I am not going to pay 3 times over for a dog that only cost $2200 that is just financially stupid. The lady on the phone says well you have to pay that amount and it goes down each time you make a payment but the fact remains I would still pay over $5000 for a dog that only costs $2200.

Monterey Financial Services I had a surgery in 2016 and the surgery was $3600 add the $1000 down payment
