I had an absolutely horrible experience with Monster Reservation Group, and I want to warn others to stay far away from this company. What was supposed to be a celebration of my 10-year anniversary with my wife and kids turned into an infuriating nightmare.
On December 3, 2024, I was offered a 4-night, 5-day vacation package at the Country Inn & Suites by Radisson in Gatlinburg, TN for $298.66, with a promise to receive $150 back after attending a 2-hour timeshare presentation. I was told to wait 24 hours for a confirmation email before booking any flights or arrangements.
After 35 hours of silence, I had to call them myself. I spoke to someone named "Tank," who told me the reservation was actually for Pigeon Forge, not Gatlinburg. He also charged me $135.16 without my authorization using my credit card! Despite my objections, I had to wait until the next day to resolve this.
When I called back on December 5, Diana (the supervisor) assured me everything was confirmed and promised a refund for the unauthorized charge. She also guaranteed I’d receive my confirmation email that day. Fast forward to December 9—no confirmation email, no refund, and now I’m told Diana doesn’t work there anymore. Instead, I was given another guest services number where I had to start over again with someone named Ben Denton.
Ben assured me the refund was processed, but guess what? I checked my credit card and saw ANOTHER unauthorized pending charge for $135.16! Later that day, I got a call from Kyra Kreisler, who informed me my reservation was canceled altogether because they didn’t have availability for the tour.
So, after days of frustration, unauthorized charges, and empty promises, I have NO trip, NO confirmation, and my money is tied up. This company has caused nothing but stress and disappointment.
Monster Reservation Group is unprofessional, unethical, and untrustworthy. Do yourself a favor and avoid them at all costs. I am demanding all my money back and that my credit card information be removed from their system immediately.
🚩 DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM. 🚩
What Monster Reservation Group does is plain and simple fraud. Contact your credit card company, and contest every single unauthorized payment. That would be evidence of deceptive practices. Request a refund, and prevent them from charging you again. Report such activity to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and to your state’s consumer protection agency. Don't let them steal your money or spoil your anniversary plans – take legal and financial measures to strike them back when it hurts the most.
Did you ever get your money back? I just bought a package through them for $698 US (1023 Cdn). I am trying to get my money back after reading that they are a SCAM. After 1.5 hrs on the phone all they could do is offer me $200 and 5 more packages. I said I didn't want anymore packages and I didn't want the package I just purchased. She (Katelyn) said they can't do anything else. I said don't bother as I would check into other legal means to get my money back. As soon as I got off the phone there was an email stating they are refunding me $200 within the next 7 business days. I am so angry and frustrated for even purchasing the package and even more upset with their ability to continue to run such an unethical business. What can we all do?
My humble advice is to Stay Away from Booksie, who is in cahoots with MonsterRG, who are in cahoots with the developers. You will not get a 'good deal', and probably not even a 'fair deal'. There are HIDDEN CHARGES everywhere. I could go on and on. The lightly trained people who answer the phone in South Carolina are trained what to say and what to NOT say. We bought two packages on "Black Friday", booked a trip to Mexico, called Monster RG dozens of times in December to find out the whole scoop. We were told huge discrepancies in terms and conditions and requirements by various MonsterRG associates. I keep meticulous notes on every call.
On every call we made to MonsterRG we asked for Written material of the details of what we bought. We were told everytime that we would receive it in the US mail within 10 working days. It NEVER happened.
We weren't told until our THIRD call to MonsterRG in December that we HAD to attend a 90 minute timeshare presentation. A week later we got a 'confirmation' email that said we had to attend a 120 minute presentation. We were NEVER told that the presentation was not at the Krystal Grand Altitutude Vallarta, where we were staying. Instead, our mandatory presentation was a two hour round trip drive in another state of Mexico. Then we were told we were scheduled for breakfast with our salesman, and breakfast didn't count towards the mandatory 120 minute presentation.
We were told by our salesman that this is NOT a timeshare. It is. The yearly maintenance fee of $605 was protrayed as something else. On the written paper it is called "M fee"...?Why don't they write out the word. The written papers the salesman did were not offered to us. We only had a picture of a couple of the pages because my husband took pictures before the salesman took them away.
The salesman was good. We had no intention of paying $20,000 to buy into a yearly week of stay at any resort...of which we had to pay $605 a year - $50 a month! For the rest of our lives.
You've heard enough, and I have no energy to fight this monster group anymore. STAY AWAY
