I, along with many of your regular customers strongly object to your opening of stores on New Year's Day. This is a National Bank Holiday in the United Kingdom, Europe and the rest of the Western World. You do not bode well with your customer base with this practice as many have already expressed their disgust. How many the general public are desperate for bread, milk and eggs on New Year's Day after the mega shopping days before? Your customers are disgusted with your greed and avarice not happy with you being so inconsiderate with your staff who, by rights, need to spend this time with their families and friends enjoying New Year's Eve celebrations without worrying about getting up for work the next day! It is not a religious celebration therefore is not going to interfere with other religions it is a NATIONAL BANK HOLIDAY approved by the government! The fact that you opened on New Year's Day has put me off shopping in your stores as I was in Aldi on New Year's Eve and guess what? They chose to close on New Year's Day as they value their staff so much more than you do! No wonder they win Supermarket of the Year every year! I, along with other customers were horrified that you opened on Boxing Day let alone New Year's Day which is the right of your Staff by Government to have the day off! Appalling greed on your behalf!
I expect a reply about this matter from your top management in the very near future as I am very angry about it.
Happy New Year!
