Morrison supermarket at Westcroft, Milton Keynes have got 4 self serve checkouts for trolley shopping and approx 15 self serve checkouts for basket shopping. For the last 3-4 weeks the checkouts for trolleys are card payment only. I contacted customer service manager at the store and was told it was because of the Covid that the checkouts were not accepting cash. Nearly all the way through the pandemic I have been using these 4 checkouts and paying by cash, so that is utter rubbish. I was also told that the basket only checkouts were mainly cash as well as card payments, but they are no good to me when I have a trolley load of groceries. I sent a complaint through to the head office customer service and was told we were becoming a cashless society and Morrisons were doing that. I also complained that when I queued at the staff manned checkouts there only 2 open, I was told by them that I should go there either earlier or later when the store is not so busy, I was at the store at 9.30am. I am not very happy with the response I received, I am certain that I am not the only one that prefers to pay cash for my groceries.
Desired outcome: Make the self service checkouts cash payment as well as card payment
