Great for kids sensitive to light at bedtime
My son cannot fall asleep with any light in the room. This includes book lights I use to read to him in bed. I’ve tried a bunch of different ways to have the least amount of light in the room but still be able to read and it keeps him awake.
I tried telling him stories off the top of my head and he wants to join in and it gets him excited. Great for daytime, not for bedtime.
I’ve tried rubbing his back and telling him stories and/or singing.
Since I stopped nursing him to sleep, bedtime is a 2-3 hour ordeal.
I finally tried this app—he was asleep in 15 minutes! Last night was the second night and it was the same!
He just requested to cuddle and listen to one of the stories in the middle of the day and fell asleep on me for a nap (he’s sleeping on me right now, haha).
He doesn’t nap all of the time, so I’m very excited he just fell asleep without the hours of trying off and on when he seems more tired that day.
I’m more than happy to pay for this service.
They provide free stories to sample so I would recommend any parent to try this.
I LOVE IT!
I love moshi and I’ve been using it ever since like about 2 and a half years! ( also btw I don’t use calming and etc., I use sleep stories.) + ( i use YouTube since I don’t have the free trial.) it’s been useful for my naps ( If any of you heard “Nap”… THAT’S RIGHT THIS IS A KID TALKIN’ MY MOM DOWNLOADED THIS IN MY PHONE!, THAT’S RIGHT MY PHONE!)I know a kid with a phone’s weird, but just deal with it. Also Aug. 4th 2022 I wore my headphones and listened to a moshi playlist!. But I woke up after 1 and a half hours took my headphones off and went to sleep. Now I’m done talkin’ about that I wanna talk about my content, Pls make sure to go to my channel and search “Robinne’s Stories” and subscribe and like to every vid! (Btw for you fans out there, next channels starting 2038! The name of the channel is “GamingwiththeUniandtheKits”!, I know that’s a long time , BUT DEAL WITH IT!) Also remember to subscribe to Latter-day Saints, latter day kids, gospel and etc. to build more of Jesus’ World! And to you Mormons out there, be Good! Cuz you never know when Jesus’ 2nd coming is gonna be!
Great sleep stories but the app needs to be updated
Update-they will sneak in ads! I got one for some doctor and their sleep method book!
-can’t exit out by pressing “x” on your playlist (to browse other stories) or it ends
-can’t exit a sleep story by pressing “x” to browse other stories or it ends (I’d like the option to have the story playing while I look at other stories to have ready for the next song)
-can’t time any thing on repeat—-it’ll repeat all night unless you turn it off
-can’t make more than one playlist
-playlists don’t play tracks on the list sometimes! It’ll sometimes stop after the second song.
-some sleep stories, meditations, songs cannot be added onto your playlist
-not quite sure what the little cloud w the check does...maybe it clears the play/fast fwd/rewind buttons?
+if a song/set is on, you can exit the app and use another app it continues to play whatever story you are listening to
+these stories and meditations work! and outweigh the annoying cons mentioned above...thus, my 3 star review and definitely the most money I’ve ever spent on an app (mind you Moshi hopefuls, that it’s only a mere fifty something dollars for one year )
I love this App!
As an older adult, I need an app to help me relax at night. All the apps I’ve tried in the past have been boring, dull and uninteresting. This one is created by top people in their fields and only the best musicians and narrators are used. The stories are cute, creative, clever and when done to music with singers, are brilliantly entertaining. I don’t know if children can understand the stories and music the way an adult can. Many of the stories are a takeoff of other things, like their own version of Phantom of the Opera or Jack and the Beanstalk. One of the latest is about a secret sleep cafe that was needed since the mayor of the city outlawed sleep because people snored too loud. He did this because he wanted higher ratings and was called a chump. As an adult I laughed at the story and loved the jazz music being played in the background. These cute and gentle stories with music relax my mind, make me smile in the dark and often I drift into a happy sleep. My only complaint is that it is hard to understand all the lyrics in the songs and I wish they’d print them. It’s well worth the money and I hope it will be around for a very long time.
Complete GAME CHANGER!
This app has completely changed our bedtime routine and our lives! I was extremely skeptical to even try it. Thanks to everyone who took the time to write reviews I thought ok what the heck. Our child was a non-sleeper since birth. Hours for put down and multiple times getting up each night. Everyone kept telling us oh she’ll sleep. She never did. EVER. As she hit 3 the bedtimes just got worse. Fighting, yelling, crying, for hours. I was at my wits end. I was about to purchase melatonin and I remembered seeing an ad for Moshi a while back. I wasn’t thrilled with the price but the free trial and amazing reviews sold me. First night she picked Sleepy Paws and was out in 10 minutes. 10 MINUTES! I sat there is disbelief. I thought ok, this is just a fluke, maybe she’s really tired today. So the next night again less than 10 minutes! Night after night she looked forward to picking out a story. We always end up with Sleepy Paws, it’s her absolute favorite. This miracle has ended bedtime fights and lulls her to sleep pretty quick. Some nights are longer than others but the complete elimination of fighting and yelling has made this worth every single penny! We’re over a month into using this and it is still working it’s magic!
Love the app BUT
Update 1: I added a star because the new update allowed me to easily exit out of a story in order to restart from beginning. I still wish I was able to rewind or fast forward with a dial or bar.
Also enjoy that the new update allows me to minimize what is currently being listened to so I can look at the other options without the sound/story stopping.
I understand the sounds fade out at the end so it’s not abrupt, however, I wish that if it was on loop it would not fade out and come back on abruptly. If it’s on loop i would like for the sound to continually play without stopping at all. Hopefully that will be in a future update.
We love this app. My kids like to listen to a story during their bed time routine: bath, pj’s, snack, brush teeth. My 16 month old will fall asleep to the pink noise (I downloaded and tried several pink noise apps and they all sounded different, this is the ONLY sound he will fall asleep to) BUT, and this is huge...
I cannot start the sound (or any story) over. Say he started a story/sound one night and the next he wants to listen to it from the beginning, it cannot be started over. I have to tap the + or - 15 second button several times and that’s just not doable. There should be a slide bar to start at the beginning.
Also wish the sounds did not fade out and back on if it’s on the loop. The pink noise going from suuuper quiet dim at the end, then suuuper loud on the loop at the beginning will startle my toddler awake.
I do like this app and we paid A LOT of money for it, so I wish these things were fixed.
Amazing but be careful with which story you pick
This app is amazing! We can’t live without it. We have two kids that are really challenging to get to sleep. Our son has anxiety issues and can have a really hard time going to sleep. We had subscribed to the Calm app and love it but the only stories that helped the kids really fall asleep were the Moshi ones. When I found this app I threw down even more money for this subscription! The music layered in with the very well chosen narration voices is fantastic. One issues, be wary to just go by the names of the stories and the cute illustrations. Several have had my kids drifting off into dreamland only to wake or wake later with nightmares about the environmental messages. I am all for teaching kids about social responsibility but they’re have so much fear and worry about it from what they learn in school it hits home alllllll to well when it needs to be stress free dream time. I wish they focused more on stories with a relaxation happy fantasy message. Love the painting one, such a creative twist. I think the heavy environmental awareness message could be toned down a bit or maybe done is a softer less dark way. The octopus that can’t sleep because the garbage is everywhere in the water had my 4 yr old in tears. My 7 yr old had bad dreams from it. So, that said, I still feel it’s worth it! Just beware and read the details or mark which are your favorites to avoid repeating the ones that may be too much for your kids to handle. Also wish you could do a one time purchase for the app with maybe a lesser yearly fee for additional content. It’s a bit pricey for every year.
Y’all have to understand something!
I went through a lot of these reviews before deciding to buy premium. Many of them complained about the price. “Why pay so much money for music and stories I can get on YouTube for free?” Well now that I have been a premium member for two months, let me tell you why it’s worth every penny.
Not a day goes by that I don’t use this app. My son is just shy of 4 months old and I take him to work with me. I own a holistic dog grooming salon and I was nervous that he would have trouble sleeping. We started using this app at 2 months old and he can’t make it through Sleepy Paws (story and symphony) without falling asleep. As I started exploring more stories, I realized that some of them calm ME down and as a result he calms down too. A bonus use that I didn’t expect is that the music and stories calms down the dogs in my care too! I provide reiki for dogs and I play the music during their session. I also teach yoga and plan to use some of the music in my classes.
When you pay for premium you are paying for ORIGINAL stories, music, and meditations. You are paying to support the team that explores sleep studies and pays the voice actors and story writers. They come out with new high quality content all the time. When you buy $60 you are only paying $5 a month. That is more than worth it to me for my baby to sleep and for myself and my clients to stay calm too.
My favorite features are the ability to make different playlists and the bedtime reminders. When the reminder goes off I get his bath ready and pick a story for bath time. The only suggestion I could possibly have for this app is the ability to search for a story.
Amazing!
There are many things I love about the Moshi app.
- I have one account I use for both Apple and Android devices
- You can have multiple users on an account. I have had as many as 4, and I am not sure of the limit
-Hours upon hours of amazing content, especially for sleep
-Cute characters and visuals
- There is also a fair amount of content for things like easing anxiety or calming down
Things I would improve:
- Add Google Home casting support!
- I love that you can have playlists, every night I make a playlist with a story, a meditation and a sound. It made me sad when I discovered the 40 playlist limit. I understand there may not be the capability of having unlimited playlists, but with the amount of content on the app, I honestly do feel that 40 playlists is not enough. Perhaps at least 100.
-Most of the content is geared towards sleep. If the other content regarding social and emotional learning is going to also be on the app, I feel more should be done to expand upon that versus the already vast amount of sleep content.
- The app could be better organized. For example, I did not know that there was a meditation or moment (I forget which) specifically for use on a road-trip, because there would be no way of knowing that until you come across that meditation by exploring or by chance. It is not immediately obvious from the title. Additionally, my favorite stories are the ones which feature a sound (trouble the bag, the tuneful train, the ping pong one, the whirly tube one, the brick one; just off the top off my head) and it would be nice if those were specifically organized.
-More content specifically for anger management
Love it! but needs some tweaking
This app is amazing and I totally recommend it though there are a few flaws in between the cracks of the app. One would be to make it so that you can take things out of your Play list because I accidentally clicked one of the sleep sounds too many times and now my entire playlist is filled with ruffles Magic sound machine and it is quite annoying. Also it kind of made me buy the game for one year when I click the seven day free trial but the app is amazing and I’m glad it made me buy it so that’s still a flaw that they should change. After that there’s like nothing I can change I like how the add a new story every once in a while so There is always some fresh content. The sleep sounds aren’t too good but I’m super picky with my sleep sound so you might have a different experience.
I lately have been going to sleep at around midnight and what’s affecting me mentally as well as physically I needed to change. As I said I tried the ”free trial” which it would advertise for quite often at times. Two weeks later when I was still able to use the app. Then I realized something was amiss. Ends up the “free trial“ was in development still so I got the game for a year, not a huge loss (as I said previously) but still slightly agitating. Maybe fix that? Maybe I just clicked on the wrong thing? Anyway now there’s no going back and no canceling so that’s a bummer(by the way, it wasn’t then I just didn’t cancel the seven day free trial, I checked) though overall compared to most sleep sound games it’s incredible and I didn’t even ask me to rate it in the App Store too many times (only two or three).
The sleep stories them selves which is the main reason why people get this app a really efficient way to get to sleep and I would say would work for pretty much all ages. Even the music which is a feature in the app which is mostly just background music from different sleep stories are actually quite relaxing and I sometimes just listen to for fun and free time while I’m doing something. The meditations in the app are quite creative but most of them are just too long (20-30 minutes each) but they didn’t say anything about them being short and there are a few short ones so that part doesn’t really matter too much. I like the idea of the playlist idea where it just please a single list from start to finish so you don’t have to choose a few different sleep stories but they’re a little repetitive. And almost every single playlist there’s Something in common. Though I’ll give them credit there’s only so many sleep sounds have a theme with one another and some of them have more than one theme so I’m not too picky about that part. In the searching for Sleepys which is a small four piece set you of trying to find a few mascots of the Moshe twilight App. What I love about this series is that there are no songs in between where are the sing A few words that I can never understand and wake me up a little so maybe more Stories like they’re searching for Sleepys series.
There are awesome few things I think they should add in this app. In a different meditation app called Headspace they do a few One, two, or three Minute meditation’s which are called wind down how do you feel Calm and relaxed which I’ve always found a genius idea. Maybe add Moshi twilight‘s Version of this and its own Little corner of the screen. It would also be cool if they added a search bar to search for your favorite sleep sound/story
Or meditation. This would make the app easier to maneuver through.

Moshi bedtime
This company is the worst. I cancel my acct before my seven day trial period ended. I wasn’t happy with the content. It was making me hyper. The stories silly. No real rhyme or reason really. So again I reached out to them to cancel my acct. they inform me that they Connor do so for 12 months and will share my info with other apps. That’s why we have an App Store so we can choose our poison correct? So I cancelled again yep third time. Still I get if you don’t respond to this we will not cancel your acct for 12 months. WTH does that mean. Just cancel this awful app from my phone.

Games, seriously?? Disappointing!
I love this app and my kids love it as well. We’ve used it every single day for the past year. I’ve recommended this app to friends who have kids with sleep and anxiety issues and everyone has loved it. However, they’ve now added games (that no one asked for) and are charging $20 more? I thought $60 was steep, but paid for it because it does have good content. But I can’t justify $80! I will be canceling our subscription. My kids are devastated about it, but I can’t justify $80 for some games. This was supposed to be a sleep/meditation app. It’s disappointing they’ve steered from that.

Good sleep stories and good luck getting out of the subscription
Sleep stories are good. We don’t use them anymore and cannot get out of the subscription. There is no unsubscribe feature, only options to resubscribe. When I try to login to Moshi to unsubscribe, the website says it doesn’t recognize my email address, even though it’s the same email address where Apple sent the subscription reminder. I tried to set up a new account, enter my email address and all my information is already there, but without a paid subscription. I have 3 years of receipts, but again, nowhere to end the subscription. Moshi says talk to Apple, Apple says talk to Moshi. BEWARE!

Tried to charge me for not working
I downloaded the app and signed up for the free trial. The trial never was applied to my account and I was like whatever, the one song you can listen to without the trial didn’t help my kid sleep anyway. Then today, without even giving me access to the trial, it tried to charge me for the whole subscription. I figured it wasn’t working anyway since the trial never even was applied to my account. Why would I pay for a year of a service that I wasn’t able to sample, and didn’t have helpful free things anyway? Makes no sense. Cute animals and good concept but technical issues make it annoyingly bothersome.

Nice
I love it. It really helps me fall asleep. However I do have a few ways to improve. Maybe make more stuff free. Or add story’s with different voices to indicate dialogue. I am aware this is a app for sleeping, but maybe some story’s should be like a Harry Potter story being told with change if voices for dialogue. The story’s do not have to be pre-made but just be fun. I do not like the subscription thing. I love the story about panting but it is only one story. NOT WORTH 40 BUCKS. And the 3.33$ thing is not true, if it wore that price per month the actual price is 38.66$ so smuggle down cozy up and download

Wow. Idk
This is a great app. I showed it to my brother and he fell asleep so fast. The only thing is there are only 3 free stories, and I can’t afford to pay $60 a year. Could you at least have like 10 stories free? I want a story about each of the Sleepies free because they are all so cute and I feel like if I didn’t have to pay, or I could just pay less, like $20 /year, than it might be worth it. I won’t even try the free trial, because people say they cant cancel.
All I ask is to
•lower the yearly subscription fee or
•have 10+ free stories.
Thank you for your app, I feel like it works, but could be better. 2 stars for now.

Not working
I’m not sure if it’s a new update or if there are problems with the Moshi servers, but for the last week or so, every time I press play on any of my devices, it thinks for a moment, then doesn’t play. Keep pressing play, and it’s unresponsive. I pay the annual premium and would like this glitch fixed. In previous versions I had a similar problem and wrote customer service, but received no feedback. I’m hoping customer service can relay this review to the tech team to fix this soon. My kids really love it and it’s become part of our bedtime routine. Too many more glitches and I’m going to have to move on to something else.

Great but no longer reliable on old iPad
We’ve been using Moshi for years and our daughter loves the stories which she’s fallen asleep to for a long time. Definitely worth the yearly subscription for us. Unfortunately, as of the latest 7.0 update (even with the first set of bug fixes) it is almost u usable now on my iPad mini. It takes almost a minute or more to load after tapping the profile to use. Once I’m able to get something playing, if I then go to a saved playlist it not only takes forever but more often then not, the whole app gets locked up and I have to kill the app to start over.
If there’s any other information I can provide you that might help determine what’s going on, please let me know. I’m happy to help.

1 good story and lots of bad customer service
The only good story is the free “sleepy paws” the rest specially with the male voice are terrible, not relaxing nor good content or songs/sound. I reached out to customer service on two social media platforms and no one wanted to tell me what the lifetime price was glad I saw it on a review here $150! They are insane and I’m glad after hearing all the free content I see that I wouldn’t get a regular or specially nit life time subscription the content is not worth the price at all. I also find that my child wanted to stay up listening to the story rather then fall asleep to them and that was only the sleepy paws the other stories didn’t catch mine or their attention and were far from relaxing

Constantly changing - not for the better
Most recent update kicked us out and wants us to pay AGAIN even though our subscription is paid for the next 5 months. They want more personal data to have an account. We are very disappointed. We love this app. Our son loves this app but it is constantly changing. The layout and organization of our favorite meditations and stories are constantly being moved around. It’s really annoying and now this? The app is losing its ability to relax us when we have to figure out why it’s not working every day. Extremely frustrating when you are at bedtime and your child is ready and you have to start fumbling around for ten minutes to a story or meditation to play. Get together please, Moshi folks! You’re ruining it.

New update is a shameless cash grab
We have been subscribers for over a year. My 4 y/o loves picking out his bedtime story or music. Tonight, we were surprised to find that there’s a bunch of stories (they are also the ONLY stories with gold animation on the thumbnail, hung right at the top of the home page, presumably to make it even more enticing to a child). So now I have to come up with an explanation for why the shiny new story is off-limits (I don’t feel like telling him that marketing your app is NOT my job). You guys are adding a paywall to current subscribers, and I think it’s pretty uncool for an app designed for children. All you’re doing is making bedtime harder and potentially disappointing for little ones who shouldn’t be subjected to marketing an app we’re already paying for.

Ugh
I know a lot of people say this app is great, and I believe it could be, but I find it horrible. I’m a mom and I have a 3 year old who won’t sleep. I thought this would help with all the playful, but peaceful looking stories. But, it costs a lot! And even if you don’t want to pay they only give you like 5 stories! I don’t want to pay, and other apps that make payment, they give you more than 5. My 3 year old is now 4 and still can’t sleep. I know apps make money off of the in-app purchases, but at least give more! All these apps are the same! You take the good stories and leave us with the cheap stories. I’m disappointed and I wish that the company would make more free stories that are god like the playful ones not the songs and lullaby’s.
Sincerely, a raging mother.

Can’t cancel before free trial
There was no way to cancel from the app during free trial unless you plan on buying don’t bother and it did not work at all for my two year old- total scam and total waste of money- Update;I got email that I have to request refund from Apple- if I get the refund I’ll change my review . The problem is during trial Apple did not show a subscription and the app doesn’t either so canceling in not intuitive . Also in general, doing an auto payment without warning is shady, I’m sorry but it is. There are many apps that provide communication or simply stop working and ask you to renew rather than take your money and then force you to request a refund and wait. Hopeful that I will get my refund as money is right during Covid and it a shame that people get taken advantage of like this

DISAPPOINTED- Doesn’t work offline for subscription
Downloaded content isn’t available offline except for the free stories, so my subscription is useless. I keep the device in my son’s room in airplane mode and I don’t want to have to keep it connected in order to use this app, not to mention using it when we travel. You have my money for a 1-year subscription now but if you don’t fix this problem I won’t be renewing.
UPDATE: The developer claims the downloaded content can be enjoyed offline if my device has enough storage. My device has plenty of storage and this is still not true. There's even an "important note" in the FAQs that says you have to click on "Restore Subscription" when content appears locked on the home screen. What good does that do if I'm offline!? You know about this issue and yet your solution is just to restore the subscription every time.

Terrible idea
Let me say that this app is fantastic. If you have kids that have trouble settling at bedtime, you need this app. I am in the second year of my subscription and feel that every penny is worth it. The reason I am giving it two stars is because I don’t appreciate being coerced into being a salesman for the app. Even with paying for a full subscription, we are presented with stories that are locked and can only be unlocked if you talk someone else into signing up for the app and they use the code you have to give them. It is not my job to advertise and drum up business for your company. I pay my subscription, I should have access to all content. It is very frustrating trying to explain to my five year old why she can’t listen to some of the stories shown. The ironic part is I have recommended this app to others and would do so again because it is a great app other than that feature. I shouldn’t be penalized because they took a look and decided not to. Get better advertising.
