Well it happened again.I ordered a Gibson SG 61 Reissue from MF.
They leave items up on their website as if they are still available. When you purchase them they either tell you it's no longer available or they make you sit and wait weeks or longer and then tell you they can't get anymore, . It has happened to me more than once". I will not be fooled again;.
When I talked to someone about possibly the same deal on a comparable guitar, they insulted me by offering a guitar for 1300 more?. They will not work with you when they make an error on their part'. I missed out on another great deal while I was screwing around with them".

Not only did it not state it was out of stock above the Add To Cart button, it let me add it to my Cart. I did contact customer several times since this incident and they did not seem interested at all in helping me find a guitar for a COMPAREABLE PRICE. Including my last attempt to get a Gibson Les Paul DC for 1199 which would have been more than fair. 1199 would have only been 300 off the price which is far less of a discount as the SG. Don't be fooled MF knows how to get a hold of me to make things right they just choose not to!
I emailed MF. Same old song and dance! Like i said they will not work out a fair deal. The comments from MF are posted here to make you feel that they are willing to help and have your best interest in mind. They did nothing to make this right or give me a fair deal.
The fact remains that items are left up on the website when they are not available. People who have already bought items also wait for them to arrive when they were never available in the first place. Sometimes one may wait days or weeks before they are told the item is not available. This is a problem that can cause you to loose another great deal while you are waiting for an item that was never coming! This has happened to me numerous times. The 800 in discounts is the price that I would have payed if I hadn't been screwed in the first place. If MF wants to make this right they know how to get a hold of me.
In today's day and age an item that is bought should come off in real time and not be left on the website or in the cart for days or weeks. This is a comment to warn consumers that this very well could happen to them. I already got the message that MF will not be helping me any further with a fair replacement guitar.
Pesqually,
My name is Chris Baker and I'm a Customer Service Supervisor for Musician's Friend. I'm truly sorry if our website did not say that the item you ordered was out of stock. It should say right above the Add To Cart button if an item is in stock or not.
I would love if you would email forums@musiciansfriend.com for us to look into this further. If there is an issue with availability not showing correctly online, we need to get it fixed. I'd also appreciate the chance to revisit a comparable guitar that is in stock. We appreciate your business and any additional opportunities you'll give us to make this right.
Sincerely,
Chris Baker

Pesqually,
After reviewing the email thread and account, you were already given over $800 in discounts for a head and cab that were discontinued by the manufacturer, as well as offered hundreds of dollars off guitars because the SG 61 Reissue you wanted was limited in stock and was sold out before you could buy it. We do not feel that we have been unfair in the numerous attempts we've made to accommodate you. If you do decide you want to take us up on one of the offers we gave you, please feel free to email us back.
Sincerely,
Chris Baker

Pesqually,
Unfortunately, items will become unavailable after customers order. This will happen with any business. We remove items from our website within 24 hours of us being notified from the vendor it will not be available, often times much sooner than that. The issue with the Gibson SG 61 Reissue was that you added it to your cart while it was available but did not check out, and someone else bought the last one before you did. We have still offered you hundreds of dollars off other models you asked about though to accommodate.
While I do have your contact info now, we will not be reaching out to offer any further discounts, as we feel that we have been more than accommodating for the inconveniences. If you would like to take us up on an offer we've made or discuss further, please let us know.
Sincerely,
Chris Baker
