credit card stolen within 24 hours
My credit card was stolen from this site and reused within 24 hours. I used a credit card that is rarely used when ordering this service. I saw two transactions come thru one for $1 and one for $1.95. Then within 24 hours a person in Georgia went and charge a coca cola machine to verify the number then they made a physical card and went to a Walmart where they were stopped.
This online website was the only place that I used this card in some time. I chose to do that so I could track the charges easily as I saw other people complain about hidden charges. So this site will open you to potential problems if you give them a real card not a prepaid card. In addition they DO NOT answer the phone.
payment
I signed up with this website last month and i payed the fee of 4.95 . I used the website to make a couple of resumes and have not used it since. I checked my account today and $52.21 was missing from my account. I did not in anyway agree to this and when i talked to someone this morning they said i was told about a monthly charge when i signed up. Attached is the email i received when i signed up which does not state anywhere that they will take a further $52.21 from my account without my approval. I have filed a complaint on the better business bureau complaint to try to deal with this matter. I would like to get a refund of the money taken from my account this morning.

site did not meet expectations set by site advertising, no reply when refund requested
I emailed the following message on 12/13/2014. I used the "Contact Us" link on myperfectresume.com. I never received a reply. I haven't had time, until now, to pursue this issue further.
“I purchased a year-long membership to www.myperfectresume.com on 10/12/2014, and I had to cancel my subscription on 10/28/2014, because the software for the résumé builder wouldn’t work. My problems started when I was unable to save any work typed into the summary section. I couldn’t cut and paste into the summary section either. I did send an email through the website to customer service about not being able to save information in the summary, but the response I got was not very helpful. When I printed what information I could save, the typeface was much larger than I had set in the website and the margins were set so the printable area was larger than the printable space. I accidentally deleted my saved résumé and couldn’t get it back, and cut and paste from the version on my hard drive wouldn’t work either. I started a second saved résumé but continued to have the same problems so I finally gave up and cancelled. I have read the terms and conditions. I know it states that a refund is not guaranteed, but on the opposite side, it is not guaranteed to be refused. I liked this website. I liked being able to search for jobs within the site. I liked the “pre-packaged” phrases based on specialty that were included. Those phrases helped me tremendously. However, I simply could not continue using software with so many errors. I am writing to request that I receive a prorated refund. I did not use the cover letter or résumé writing services.

Today, February 26, 2015, I reviewed the Terms of Use again. A continued points of contention: the site developers don't guarantee correct operation of the site or software. My résumé is probably one of the most important documents in my adult life and accuracy is paramount. My résumé was not created in 10 minutes while using myperfectresume.com, nor was it flawless because I could never input information in the summary section. What is the point of providing a résumé writing service if accuracy isn't part of the service? My second point of contention: "refunds are not guaranteed.” That translates to me as the customer is always wrong. Even loose definitions of what is and is not guaranteed would be helpful. Finally, customer service was poor.
I don’t think this site provides a quality product. I didn’t pursue more IT help when my subscription was active because the one time I did formally request help, the advice was very disappointing and it took almost 48 hrs. to get a response. I did leave feedback at least twice about the software and needed improvements, but, of course, I never received a reply. My advice: use your money on a human that you can see and, at least, shake hands with, and is an experienced résumé writer or editor. I wish I had.

cancelled and still charged
This is really sneaky business by this company. When my 14 day free period was coming to and end I tried to cancel the subscription on their website and it did not work. I then contacted them via email support and then the day after they confirm that my subscription was cancelled but had already charged my credit card! When asking for a refund they said that they had made every effort to make the auto-renew function know to me bu failed to do so before the time period happened... no their website cancellation failed to work!

You dumbfucks are not sorry for anything! You site is a scam and everybody must know this! They stole about 150$ from me until I saw that [censored]ing hidden subscription!
bad service
Found the site doing an online search, started a resume. On 14 January 2015 I decided to pay the fee of $3.95 weekly until I cancel. Shortly after paying and while my resume was still in progress, I discovered three things. First, I was unable to access the site using my password. This lasted for a week over a week and cost me money. After many resets I finally gained access. The second discovery, and the more worst part, is the entire resume was deleted from their system. Apparently they do not have a tech department. I contacted the company via their instant chat function. First representative quoted company standards and practices, and even went as far as blaming me for the unauthorized deletion. This representative also informed me the product was not downloaded, just deleted. I was then disconnected and told i can take a survey. Second representative (or are these really just part of an algorithm like the service itself?) seemed more willing to assist and also informed me there was no download, just delete. The third fun discovery is that I was charged $36.16. They offered a refund of all but .36 cents. This is only because I pointed out that it was beyond odd that a job seeker would PAY for a resume THEN destroy it. I have contacted the bank. I expect a FULL refund. ALL of my money. How many thousand of people are being robbed in this manner. I was looking forward to a beautiful resume. instead, this.

fraud
I have been on unemployment since September 2013 because I was laid off. I went to myperfectresusume.com last April to get some help. It was supposed to be a free service, but to download the resume I built you had to pay. I paid the $2.95. I used my Debit card that my unemployment is deposited in by EDD. I never agreed to have any further charges deducted from my account. I don't check the statements often. I just noticed that myperfectresume has been automatically deducting $35.80 per month since May 14, 2014. So $35.80 was deducted in May, June, July, and August. What kind of fraudulent company is this and how can I stop them from continuing to deduct from my account and refund the $143.20.
The Charges on my account are listed as:
LICVECAREER ORDER # 3568 myperfectresu 00000 United Kingdom.
Please help. It is outrageous that unemployed people already struggling are ripped off like this!
Thank you so much. B. Arias

I was sent an email stating additional funds would be charged because they were an international company! They gave a price in american dollars, no mention of add. Fees. I refuse to pay it. FALSE Illegal.
I signed up and paid $1.95 for 2 weeks access. I can't login, keep getting redirected to Job Trap . I can't find a way to get to the actual account. Now I am reading about continued billing. Hope it doesn't try it!

extra charges
Used this service to built a resume, I had no problem with the FREE (catch word) and paid $3.95 at the end. But the real problem is when you see in your personal bank statement the charge of 34.95 for a so call renewal service. There is nowhere in the web site when you are building your resume that mention this 7-14 days automatic renewal.
Come one MYPERFECTRESUME be clear up front! I will not use the service again and will advise others not to do it.

I had the exact thing happen to me...I made my resume and after all the time I took to make it could not even print it or anything unless I signed up and paid so I agreed to pay but I did NOT see Anywhere that the next bill would charge me $34. I also would never recommend or use this anymore. I am highly upset with what has happened and would greatly appreciate if I could get a refund.
Dear Customer,
I'm very sorry that you have had this experience with our service. The subscription that you purchased has a recurring billing feature and that you can cancel at any time. money taken with out knowledge
First they said it is free, but you have top pay at the end a few bucks ok. I canceled a few days later and the nightmare began. They never canceled the account and have charged be so far $40 total that they do not have record of. The service is very poor, the lady stated the man never canceled, then found record of my call and said it was not canceled in time. But i was charged a week after "they did cancel" it. Two weeks after that I was charged for an open/closed account. Now im fighting with them for a refund.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I signed up for My Perfect Resume for one month subscription at $3.95 which was charged immediately. Yesterday 30 August 2017 which was 2 weeks after joining I cancelled my subscription. The next day 31 August 2017 I notice a $52 charge on my credit card. I would like a complete refund and to ensure this doesn't happen to anyone else. I have emailed the company with no response. My next move is to have my bank dispute the charge. My cancellation confirmation number is [protected].
Disgusting behavior.
The website advertised a charge of $1.95 to use their resume services. Now, a month later, I am being charged $35 and do not know why. I have written them two e-mails and will try to call them as soon as their customer service center opens today. I think this borders on illegal.
I have opened My perfect resume free site to try creating my resume. At the end of it I was charged some $3 plus, I was annoyed you weren’t upfront about it, but I paid nevertheless.
Since then I was charged USD 35.80 on 11 August and on 8 September, which amounted to NZD 54.94, plus my bank’s offshore service margins fee.
You have undermined the trust of the public by conducting business this way. I see now there are plenty complaints, about this very thing, from many people taken for a ride. Did you change your website in response to these complaints? No. That’s why I feel a scam is an appropriate term for this practice
Viola Mapperson
I, too, was prepared to pay the initial costs for assistance in preparing an acceptable resume (May 2017).
I recently arrived in Australia and needed help in submitting a professional resume in order to secure employment.
It was not made clear that I would be charged $35.00 per month for this service. Had I been aware of this I would have definitely made alternative arrangements. The fact is I cannot continue, financially, to make these payments and have no choice but to cancel this service.

take funds from account when you don't have account
My 13 year old daughter was doing a school assignments and used this site. She spent awhile trying to work it out and at the end it asked for a small payment. She didn't want to loss everything so she paid the small payments using my credit card.
My daughter could never log in to access this again to make changes again.
They have since taken 2 payments out of my account. When I contacted them to start with I was told I didn't have an account and asked for my name, email and last digits of cc. I replied immediately with these details. They haven't replied to my emails since. The bank have been contacted and will try and get a refund. It is the principal of the matter, a simple refund and guarantee that the account, that they say doesn't exist would have been ideal.
Very bad customer service, an extremely questionable company. The program seemed good for my 13 year old assignment as is was free - then a small fee - but access to monthly payment make it ridiculous. It seems very easy to produce a dodgy resume and I wouldn't look twice hiring someone presenting a resume with this companies name attached.
Overall. Go somewhere else. 13th July 2015

Exact same thing has happened to me. I have been charged over 100$ over the past month and we called and complained and they refused to refund any money and said it was part of the contract we signed up for. The only contract we signed up for was the 3$ for help on a single resume. Huge scam

misleading
Typical web site (Myperfectresume) they tell you that making a resume is free so you jump on board and start making a resume. You spend a couple hours online making a perfect resume and go to print it, then they want you to pay for it or it will not print. (Trapped) so what do you do, you just spent 2 hours on it so you pay the money. Then if that was not bad enough when you make that payment they (Myperfectresume) automatically enroll you to monthly withdraws from your credit card even though you are not using there website. Great job in misleading!
So True I feel your Pain I have been burnt by MyPerfectResume as well.

scam
So, my 18 year old daughter created a resume on this website. It said they would need $2.95 AFTER she had done all the work to create it. She asked if she could use MY card to charge the $2.95. Being the fool I was that night, I told her she could use my card. I then get 2 charges for $1.00 and 2 charges for $1.95 on my card. Obviously charged twice. I waited for them to realize what they did & credit me the extra $2.95 back, but noooooo...I start getting "Foreign Purchase Fees" of 2 cents & 3 cents. I call my bank & while I am holding for a representative, I read up on old "myperfectresume.com". Seems they are a scam & they charge $34.95 a month. (Check it...damn fine print!) So I called them (it had been 5 days) they cancelled & offered me back the extra $2.95 they had charged, but said they couldn't return the "Foreign Purchase Fees" AND when I asked if I would get such fees for my CREDIT he said yes. I told him that he should probably go get me a supervisor as I was planning to make a BIG stink about this on the interweb. He came back & said he would credit me an extra dollar to cover those fees. This place is a scam & I a not someone they should mess with! The number I called was [protected].

At what point is the transaction justified?
The company is stealing.
The fact that the company may have written it down does not deny the fact it is charging customers for services they do not want.
This is fraud.
If the business initiates a service then it is the businesses responsibility to ensure that it is a service that it's customers want.
This is systemic.
This company is using this fraud as a revenue strategy.
As long as it is making them great revenue, they will not change it.
I am sure their customer service representatives is paid very well for dealing with the multitude of complaints and the CEO will be driving a very nice car unlike the people they steal from who are looking for work and need that money for food.
Dear Redwoodgirl,
Thanks for your comments.
We take great care in letting our customers know what they are subscribing to. All of our subscription are auto-renewing if not cancelled. It is not in fine print, but we state the cost in bold and clear print and stated the details of the subscription in bullet form, which can be clearly understood. Aside from these details, we also sent a payment confirmation to the email address that your daughter use when she signed up, stating the amount of what you have subscribed for and the auto-renewal date.
We also give multiple ways to cancel the subscription: By Phone, Live chat, email and through online on the " Account Settings"
My Perfect Resume is an international company that processes payment through an international gateway located in London. London. Some banks charge an international transaction fee, even when the charge is in US dollars. These fees are charged by your bank and not My Perfect Resume.

Just writing to say that I have used this website various times to build resumes, and I had absolutely no problems. I got charged 3.95 the 1st time as the terms and conditions, states. Then you have 14 days to either cancel your subsciption or then the cc you provided on file will be charged! I've cancelled accordingly and did not get charged! This website is NOT a SCAM! It's very helpful however, you do have to read and follow directions or yes, u will be charged again. But it clearly states that! Again, I had no problems at all!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
There mother###ers have charged me two 35.80$ fees already all that thanks to a ###ing paragraph at the end of my subscription confirmation email with MICRO LETTERS, saying I will be charged every week for a JOB HUNTING SERVICE! I didn't even apply to that!
It's obvious that NO ONE reads that crap and that it's only there so that they can defend themselves... I already mailed my bank so tha they can block any access to my account from that entity
well i called after 13 days and was STILL charged. called back and got some lady that couldnt even speak english and refused to refund me. i have been charged twice now, and am at a total loss as of what to do next. SOMEBODY HELP ME GET MY MONEY BACK! any comments on what steps i should take would be greatly appreciated!
I had absolutely no problems. I was charged 2.95 for a special trial as the terms and conditions state. I decided to cancel before the trial ended in the 14 days allowed. This website is NOT a SCAM! It helped me create a very professional resume that I needed in a very short time. I will use again when the time comes.
When you have so many people unaware of the plight of the on-line business one gets the feeling that customer satisfaction is not their goal. Could it be they found a gray area to take advantage of customers. Why should they be paid for a service they didn't provide to a customer? If the customer continued to use them than the customer should pay - but not get secretly charged. The company should be up front and CLEAR about the rules.
scam
This sit eleads you to believe it is a free service. This is not the case. After plugging in your info, you will be prompted to pay a $3.95 fee (which lets you know that it will charge you $34.95 every month if you do not cancel your subscription with a 7 day period). This is fine but what they do not tell you is that your card I'd charged ONCE FOR $2.95 AND AGAIN FOR $1.00 So what I've learned is that they are "TWO" companies. When you call to cancel the subscription (as I did as soon as I was done) you are only canceling "ONE" of your subscriptions and that is the scam. After wasting my time on the phone with their customer service, I was credited only $33.00. So they make another $1.95. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR $$!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I bought the 14 day trial for 2.95 then immediately after wouldnt let me on the website to do anything under the cause of server error and applicatin error. i cannot even get on the website. Total scam and have to change my credit card number because they cant be trusted. DONT USE THIS WEBSITE. FRAUDS.
Hi Matt19.
Our free trial gives you the opportunity to try out our resume builder before deciding to purchase. If you like what you see, we ask you to pay for a subscription. The ability to print, email, or download your resume are only listed as a feature of the paid subscription and are not listed as a feature of the free trial. We're sorry for any confusion.
The subscription that you paid has a recurring billing feature and you can cancel at any time. The $3.95 charge covers a Resume Builder for $2.95 and a Cover Letter Builder for $1.95 technically you are not being billed twice and this is only under one company which is LiveCareer. We explain that the subscription is auto-renewing on the 15th day, underneath the description of the subscription in bullet form, as well as in the confirmation email you receive once you subscribe. We do offer several ways to cancel including by phone, live chat, email and self-cancellation in your Account Settings.
You can also contact our customer service team for help! We are available 18 hours a day, 7 days a week from 6am- Midnight EST at toll free [protected] or through live chat on our site. If you prefer you can send us an email to: customerservice@myperfectresume.com. We also list our contact information on our "Contact Us" and "About Us" Pages on our site.

fraud
Just like others have said, I built my "free resume" then was charged $2.95 to download it. Ok...so I paid it. I then cancelled the trial subscription immediately. Now Ive noticed a recurring fee of $34.95 on my bank statement. Its obviously a scam. I contacted them and they said they sent me terms of service and confirmation of payment email...I never received anything from them. Its obvious that Im not the only one this has happened to. Ill be reporting them to other fraudulent services boards including my bank and State Attorneys office. Bad bad business practices...

"katrina from live chat" is not a real person. nobody on their live chat is a real person. i just called to have it cancelled and to refund the money they took from me and I was not successful. I tried to cancel the subscription immediately and the website and tech team would not go through. They immediately signed off. I was charged 4 times for my initial sign up fee and charged an additional 35.80 two weeks later after i tried to cancel. they blamed it on them currently remodeling their system. No refund was given. this is an absolute scam. Do NOT use this site or any site affiliated with this program as they might be remodeling the system and take away numerous charges out of your account.

I too just become a victim of this fraud where the charges for full access was $3 when I first tried to make payment through Debit Card, Message displayed that "Restriction on International transaction by Bank", so I used my credit Card and I was shocked to see the amount deducted was $95.5 in Indian currency Rs 5963.93. recurring charges
My Perfect Resume AKA LiveCareer advertized to build a resume for $4.95. My 18 year old daughter borrowed my wife’s credit card to charge the $4.95. She did not notice the fine print about a recurring $34.95 charge if she did not cancel within 7 days. This was back in May of 2012. To date my Credit card has been charged monthly for a total of over $500. The...

I used this site to revise my resume, I was promted to pay 2.95 for the service which was rendered to me. I noticed on August 20th that 34.95 was taken from my checking account without my knowledge, I sent in a written complaint to my bank and ask them to dispute this transaction. I was told by my bank that the payment was pending and they couldn't anything...

Same complain as most everyone has about the website. Advertises "Free-Resume" but not up front about the cost. I would not mind the small payment for the resume I made but not advertising the price beforehand is not good business practice. I have a feeling the only money this company makes is from the one-time customer who will never use this website again because of the pricing practices. I will never give my money to this company again. I hope MyPerfectResume and LiveCareer go out of business.

This website is skimming my credit card this is fraud
I used their service and had no issues. I do agree they should not advertise as a free service but I did not get any unauthorized charges on my bank statement. What would be good is that if you decide to subscribe to their service, that the intial intro fee they charge you be credited toward the first months fee.
